OgaDeyVex:Nonsense people! This how we are deceived and removed our eyes from the real issues facing Nigeria.... Come back in two to five years, this same Sadiq Abubakar Lawan that can't write correct sentence, will be your Senator writing laws that you will the Queen's command of English must obey and live by...or he will be the MD or CEO of a conglomerate that, you will go begging for an entry level position! Nonsense ingredients! |
immortalcrown:I am open to debate topics as long as we don't mix and match perspectives and the topic of debate don't get changed. The debate here is purely from a spiritual and biblical perspective and the parameters is engagement and how the Bible sees pre-marital sex. You did not engage any of my biblical exerts or attempt to provide biblical texts to contradict them. Now, if you want to debate 'marital properties' use of surnames and right of ownership of property, etc I can also debate that...Those things you mentioned does not mean that, the two individual involved are even engaged or married. It depends on the laws and traditions of the place. e.g. in many places outside Nigeria especially, married ladies still retain their father's names, does that mean they are not married based on your perception or the Bible? In the USA and in some states, there is what is called common law marriage, this type of marriage despite no engagement, no official marriage, the wife have full rights to property ownership, can change their names, if they wish, etc,....does this mean they are actually married in the eyes of the bible? Lets keep this conversation strictly to the Bible, old and new as terms of reference. Try as much as possible to remove country related traditions, expectations, etc....Because I believe God is not a Nigerian and He is not an American and truly does not elevates one countries tradition and custom above the other. There are even local traditions today, that 'sees' and perform marriages different, but the basic thing among them all is that, there is a relationship, there are no court weddings, no church weddings, nothing...just a two people meeting and saying that they were two before and are now one, are you saying from God's perspective, they must be committing fornication because a Pastor did not bless the union? Can you show me from the Bible where Jesus, Peter or even Paul officiated at a wedding ceremony and declared a man and a women husband and wife? My point is, biblical there is no magic moment where a man and a women transition into husband and wife. When we see today are all made-up sold to us by the whiteman for commercial purposes. From the Old testament, if a man sleeps with a lady, he will be forced to take her in as a wife as long as she is not engaged...and if engaged, the bible does not prohibit sex...During the time of David, newly bethrothed men are excluded from going to the war and they are sent back to be with their bethroted woman less someone else takes them. |
immortalcrown:Marriage in itself is just a confirmation on a relationship and declaration to the world of your relationship. It does not have any biblical spiritual connotation in the Bible, when performed in the Bible, it is usually traditional marriage with zero spiritual component. Sin has to do with God, I don’t commit sin against God because I fail to declare something before the public. Go back to the Old Testament where traditional marriage originated and how they practice it, throughout Deuteronomy & Leviticus, sex between a man & a woman is permitted if it will lead to marriage. Hence in the Old Testament sex is permitted among betrothed persons and if a man have sex with an unbetrothed lady, he is forced to marry her…but if she is already betrothed, the man will be punished. Joseph was ordered by an Angel to take Mary, Jesus’ mother in despite the fact that, they are not yet married. |
BabaOfLagos:You forgot the part where it say, if they didn’t receive you or hear you, you should leave them in peace. What you guys fails to understand is that, it is the Holy Spirit that converts people, stop preaching to the choir, these people have already heard the gospel, allow the Holly Spirit to continue His work of conviction and eventual repentance. Move to the unreached, stop wasting efforts and emerge on the reached people. |
maikbanj:Seriously, you truly need help talk to someone so they can help you deliver yourself from yourself. Your gf is fine, it is you that have seen all these red signs and still talking about marriage that need your head re-examined. Be ready for have all your hard earned money wasted on wanton fleeting pleasures. |
EgwunsoDOTcom:You can’t force the word of God on anyone….Jesus said, if they don’t accept you or your teachings leave them alone! Today so-called Christians are unlike Christ and his disciples. The preaching of the Gospel as directed by Christ is to the unreached, the job of the Christian is to preach the word, it is the Holy Spirit and Convicts and bring about repentance. You are wasting your time preaching to unbelievers who have already heard the Gospel while many in the world have not gotten the opportunity to hear it. |
Stillwhites:How can you block the number you have deleted? You must have it somewhere in your phone to be able to block it. |
Fmlao:…..And why are some people running to France for medical Check ups instead of getting those care from the world class city they tell us they have made Lagos? |
From the way terrorists and bandits are running amok in Nigeria. If the current situation is not ‘succumbing’ one wonders what it will be like if they succumb. |
unclejb2:There have been more Church shootings in the USA and more Christians dead by violence in the USA by a set of extremists who share the same Party Platform of the the Republican Senators who wrote the above letter & recommendation. Each time these shootings takes place in the USA, Senator Hawley and his co-authors of the above letter don’t write to include USA on the list of Countries supporting violence against Christians, they instead offer their “thoughts and prayers” and advocate for more gun access. Charity, they say begins at home. Let’s these Senators remove the plank in their eyes before pointing fingers. With the way precedents and rights are being reversed in the USA with some dating back about 90 years back, in no time slavery will be ruled constitutional and inter-racial marriage and many decisions made based on the privacy and equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment will be ruled unconstitutional. When the terrorists marched into the USA to bring it down, they will be holding a cross on one hand and the Bible on the other, with a big R on their chest to show their identity and allegiance to Senator Harley’s Republican Party, synonymous to his fist bump to the Capital Hills invaders. |
mogbeyiteren:He is Isoko not Urhobo. |
BigDawsNet:So according to the Bible, when does a life start? Also, what about those who are not Christians and do not belief in the Bible, of what use is forcing them to practice what is in the Bible. Forcing people to practice the laws or keep the ten commandments is clearly what the Bible and Jesus teaches and preaches against. |
OutOnBail:Not quite though, the ruling just states that it is not a right enshrined in the constitution as reached in Roe v. Wade, therefore it is up to the legislators to decide how it goes. So, States can step in and regulate it as some have already done, but the federal legislators can also put a federal regulation into place that becomes bidding on all States, otherwise each State will make their own regulation. |
watersideboys:It is interesting that neither the husband nor the wife is putting up this defenses in their prepared speech before the court. |
DOTian:You are making stuff up, stop regurgitating what blogs posted. Seek reliable news sources….the Police in their documentation clearly stated the boy made his true age known to Doctors at the Royal Hospital which made the Doctors to stop everything and contacted the Police. |
Ojuntana:Yes, one cannot enter into an agreement with a minor, the minor can sue because the law gives the minor standing i.e. they are below the age of consent. The same applies to entering into an agreement to injure yourself or illegal agreements. Agreed, the constitution clearly stated that NASS cannot make any law that conflicts with the Constitution, but not all Tom Dick and Harry can walk into the Court and sue for any illegal NASS laws...You must first show standing...aka you must first prove that you are injured by that NASS law. Buhari is an adult, does not belong to any class known to law where injury is established by law and having signed this bill cannot turn around and sue. But, someone else can sue. A Nigerian citizen who can show that, this law injured them, will be allow to proceed to the merits of the case and wouldn't be dismissed on a technicality like Buhari's. |
Ojuntana:He does not have standing. The SC applied what we all know is applicable in any agreement, if you sign an agreement with someone, then discover that certain terms in the agreement are not favorable to you, you can not approach a court and ask them to change the terms you now of all a sudden no longer like. Your best option is to approach that individual to come to terms with you to renegotiate that agreement. The Legislators and the President have to ascent to a bill before it becomes law unless the the Legislators can over ride the President's veto if he does not agree.....Having agreed and signed the bill into law and having gone back to the Legislators to renegotiate the bill and failed, he cannot now approach the court to force the Legislator's hands to do his bidding.... That is the message SC is trying to send, they are telling PMB, if you want to change the bill, go talk to the Legislators, renegotiate with them, go sit down on the table with them. |
sekundosekundo:I don’t know. But, if you read reputable News that you can locate and are known, the boy disclosed to the Doctors at the Royal Hospital in London that he was 15 and that was what led the Doctors to stop the operations. It is no name blogs that are saying that, the boy only reported to the Police when the hospital found him not to be a match and lied about his age in order to get asylum. Well, I think we should be grateful and rest assured that, since this is taking place in a saner place and handled by one of the best known Police Department in world, they will get to the bottom of this. Also our Honorable Senator have a team of lawyers representing him, and his wife have another team representing her….So, their side of the story and the boy alleged scheme will be center court at trial. |
Lifestone:Writing a letter to an embassy and obtaining a visa does not mean that what you are traveling for is legal. Most human traffickings happens across international border and in majority of those cases genuine visas are obtained. I don’t know why people think that, writing of the letter absolve anyone of anything, it could just be part of the plan….we don’t have all the details. Only the boy and our Senator know the details of how all these went down. |
Mickykarim:The letter does not absolve him of the allegations of attempted organ harvesting and human trafficking if the boy is 15 years old. The boy is a minor and cannot give consent to donate his organs. This is like taking a video evidence of an under age girl in UK or USA who told you that they are adult and even showed you an ID clearing stating that they are adult and after being satisfied with their age as adult and documented it as evidence in your video, you then went to have sex with them. You good intentions, video evidence, the girl lying about their age will not absolve you of the crime of rape, if it was later found that the girl was under age. |
Chinjo2:Who told you the test can’t be done in Nigeria? The UK hospital can liaison with a Nigeria based medical center to carry out the test. |
philus66:Selling of one’s organ is illegal, it does not matter if you are an adult and agreed to the ‘deal’. Organs can only be donated, yes some people ‘donates’ their organs in exchange for somethings in return, but those are done under the covers or to defer medical expenses….but you can’t come out sell it or say you bought it, that is invitation for trouble. |
Ojuntana:For you to approach any court for anything you must have standing…That is the very first thing all courts checked off before looking into your case. And to have standing, you must be ‘injured’, the Court is simply saying that having fully participated in making the law, Buhari can not turn around and claim injury from the same law he participated in birthing. Therefore, he does not have standing. Malami is also part of the Executive branch of government who Buhari overseas and represents while birthing this new law, he does not having standing either. |
okomile:Doing it legally means going on back of a long waiting list. I would say, they are very bold and stupid to have brought it to UK, thinking they are above the law just as they are in Nigeria. Otherwise, many people do it with cooperating Doctors and Hospital on back alley streets in India. |
SATANICALLY:This is a poor hatch job just to paint his investment bad, if you really go into the numbers, his investment appreciated. He did not invest in dollars, dollar to Naira was N155 when he invested and it is not N604. Try to compare Apples to Apples.... If he invested N1,955,535,247.00 in 2012 and bought 407,321,264 shares in 2012, it means he bought one share at N4.8 each. If each shares as you stated are worth N5.5, it means there is about 15% increase in the share price. Stop doing this nonsensical conversion to dollar and back....if we use the same logic... If you have N155 in your back account in 2012, which was equivalent to $1, if nothing happens and you go that same bank, your N155 is only now worth $0.26. The guy invested N1,955,535,247.00 in 2012, the total value of his investments today in N2,240,266,952....This is even going with all the figures presented here....the other question is....how are we sure it was only 407,321,264 shares that were bought in 2012? They might have bought more and the state sold some since that time and these are just the ones remaining. |
BadRadio:Be empathetic, put yourself in your brother’s shoes. God forbids, if someone is knacking your wife and your brother knows, will you want him to tell you or mind his business? How will you feel if he chooses to mind his business and you later found out and also know he was aware all along? Just be sure that what you are saying she is doing is 100% correct. Don’t go by hear-say, let it be first hand knowledge and get concrete evidence that a third and neutral person will believe. Be your brother’s keeper and do to others what you will want them do to you. |
Gbengajans:Heaven only help those who help themselves….as is it, with another 8yrs of Tinubu loading, we are royally forked! |
Who is he fooling? He ‘earns N679,000/monthly’……..after expenses, he ‘takes home less than N1.5m/monthly’. Let’s consult my calculator. These people really take Nigerians for a fool and we truly foolish bunch because we keep electing them. Clearly, despite his deceptive attempt to be open, he left undisclosed the massive allowances and other jumbo pay they receive behind the scene. |
Greatkenny2:Even if there is a consensus candidate, elections would be conducted. Only that all or most candidates will step down for the consensus candidate and ask delegates who had committed to them to instead vote for the consensus candidate. |
How can 99% of the Presidential Aspirants support a consensus candidate, when even if it is only one Aspirant didn’t support it….that will be 22/23….which is 95%. |
