I don’t think it is unique to Nollywood or that, more deaths happens within Nollywood.

People die on a daily bases in Nigeria, but not all are News worthy, notable or will generate traffic for bloggers.

Certain elite groups e.g. Nollywood will traffic to bloggers, hence they make sure to put them in our faces.

I am even wondering how a traditional ruler can be sacked without throwing that community in turmoil and confusion.

These positions are cultural and there are specific families and individuals whose rights (not privilege) is to be a King in certain communities and the people in that community knows and reverends those precedents as lay down by their ancestors.

Some go through rites and rituals to even find the right candidate and even consult with the ‘gods’ and they move only when the ‘gods has spoken’….though I still don’t know or even have my doubts if the gods ‘spoke’, but that is not mine to judge, it is enough that these people believe that the gods has spoken.

SERAP is not the problem, the Nigeria Court is bought and paid for, but that is the only place one can go constitutionally for legal redress.

And I don’t think they should stop either, despite no success, they are bringing attention to the failure of this government and their continual effort to find redress and solutions legally.

When all lawful avenues have been frustrated and people start taking laws into their hands, these are the lawsuits that will be cited to show that all avenues to address the issue through legal channels were frustrated.

Hello house, the age of my spouse on our marriage certificate (church wedding cert) was wrongly captured (my own fault) and I will need to upload the certificate for visa application for spouse dependent visa application for my spouse to join me in uk asap. Common sense dictates that the age on marriage certificate should tally with her passport DOB .

Hence, I have approached the church for correction and they have refused blatantly on the ground that the mistake is not coming from them. So what other options do I have for proper documentation in this visa application,kindly advice.

Get a new passport with a DOB to tally with Marriage certificate and a brand new matching NPC birth certificate.

Please how do I recover my money from Union Bank?
On 19th April 2022, I went to use their ATM at about 8:10 a.m and I was debited N20k without cash dispense because the machine went off while counting the money due to power failure from the bank's generator house.
After 24hrs I went to their branch to lay a compliant and they acknowledged the dispense error and started that it will be reversed after 24hrs which did not happen.
I called their customer care line 2 days later and one of their agent told me that it will be reversed after 24hrs and that she has sent It for manual reversal.
Despite this I didn't get the reversal.

I again went to the bank last week Friday, 23rd April and the customer service apologized that it must be reversed that day which did not still happen.
I chatted them up on Twitter, and they claim that it has been reversed, and after proving that nothing has been reversed they stopped responding to my messages on Twitter.
I sent them a mail and they didn't respond till yesterday, where they stated that the issue will be resolve within 48 hours.
Nothing has happened yet.
I tried calling their their customer service now and I noticed that I can no longer reach them with my two lines, probably they blocked my line.

P.s; I am fully aware that they have breached their obligation in respect to banker-customer relationship and that I would be entitled to damages if I sue them for this.
But the truth is, instituting a legal action now would be too expensive for me coupled with the litigation process.

Please what do you suggest I do apart from litigation?

Post it publicly on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and all other social media and watch them reverse your mine with speed.

The standard procedure for leaving a job is to give atleast two weeks notice to the management. But many of you will collect salary at the end of the month and disappear without notice...

Put yourself in their shoes.

Giving two weeks notice is not ‘standard procedure’ it is courtesy shown by the employee to the employer, so they can have time to hire a replacement, some employees even give one month notice depending on the relationship with their employer.

Courtesy is both ways….If my employer can’t pay my salary which is obligatory, who should I show them courtesy?

Go get a girlfriend and within a month, you will notice great improvement!

In the American system, where most of Nigeria FG laws were copied from, the other spouse does not have any right to properties inherited by the other spouse unless both spouse were specifically mentioned as beneficiaries by the person passing on the inheritance. The burden to prove is on the spouse is claiming they were mentioned….but as in this case, the mother can pass the inheritance to anybody.

In Nigeria customary laws controls this, in Yorubaland, the children have rights to those properties and the father have zero right to them.

In some customs, the land is not really given away and it belongs to the main family and everyone that have use of it at the moment is merely on a free lease and the extended family can call back that lease and reallocate it to whoever, this is the main reason the other spouse will not be allowed any right to the family properties but the children could be…because the children are party of the extended family and the spouse is not.
