emmadeking:I doubt if you understand the one ‘due process’. The House make up their own rules, processes and guidelines. Impeachment is like a grand jury indictment or a vote of no confidence. The DA decides if any witness need to be call or not. They decide to or not to include the defense team or accused in the process. Due Process comes into when the Senate holds their trial, House Managers will play the role of Prosecution, while the Trump will be allowed to mount his defense. The Chief Judge will preside and each side can call witnesses depending on the Trial rules voted into place by the Senate. 10 Republicans voted with the Democrats and it is most bipartisan impeachment in US History, more than that Bill Clinton’s. |
Providence2020:I have not said, social media or internet service providers protected by section 230 of the US should not be sued. In fact, they get sued all the time; everyone and all institutions in the US can get sued. The issue is, when you are in court, you have to proof culpability within existing laws. Parler have taken Amazon to court for shutting them out of AWS hosting servers. Use Google and search, Facebook, Twitter, etc had been sued multiple times by aggrieved individuals over postings on their sites and they have also settled some of these cases just like CNN you cited above. The irony is that, if you read the suits against Facebook & Twitter, the plaintiff were alleging that these companies did not do enough to moderate the postings that caused them or loved ones harm either by not preventing it, not deleting it on time or not sanctioning or removing the poster....the same thing you guys are blaming Facebook and Twitter for doing. And mark my words, this is US....in the coming days, parents/relatives of the 5-6 people who got killed during the capitol riots are going to sue Facebook & Twitter for wrongful death, citing inability of these social media companies from moderating Trump, which led to the untimely death of their love ones....and because of the PR disaster, these companies will settle these suits in the back room of the court house and close the case. |
Providence2020:You have a lot of loaded assumptions and false correlations in your comments, which I agree is your opinions, and you are entitled to them. First, if Farrakhan and the Ayatollah have abused any terms and conditions of any online media, they have subscribed to, they are should be sanctioned as well. You also understand that these companies have a high tolerance to protect the political speech of politicians and have been tolerating Trump's twists with a warning until the recent incitement that led to the death of 5-6 people. He instructed his supporters to invade an American co-equal branch of Government in an attempt to interfere with an ongoing constitutional protected Government business, not minding the fact that all the US succession leadership were in that capitol building and could face danger from his supporters. If you can cite an example of the above behave as it relates to Farrakhan and the Ayatollah, you can point it out and I will concur with you that, they should be treated in the same manner. I will ignore your reference and comparison with the other riots, as I do not recall saying that, the other riots were okay. All riots are bad and should be condemned by all. Your comments about gun control and gun violence are out of touch....drawing from the same logic, all laws about murder, kidnapping, etc are ineffective and should be deleted from the lawbooks because murder and kidnapping have not stopped. The other comment about the Iranian deal is myopic, that deal at least allowed international observers into Iran to monitor their activities, but at the moment they have all been kicked out. The US and the whole world are blind to their activities and they have restarted their enrichment programs. Also, if that John Kerry deal was so evil and bad, why did the Trump Administration went back and attempt, but failed to coerce all the international countries who were part of the deal, for them to enforce the sanctions in those same deals against Iran, after Iran resumed their activities following US violation of the deal? The problem you guys have is, instead of looking inward and correcting your mistakes; you rush into labeling everyone else as the problem. You call all these companies 'leftist', 'bad', 'anti-democratic', 'evil', 'enemies', 'demonic', etc......but you insist on using their platforms and that, they must convey your vile speeches and rhetorics and are mad if they choose not to? Why not you use your own media, avenues, and platforms? Why do you rely on your enemies to pass on your messages? It does not make any sense or logic. Sorry, I forgot; Parler a 'Conservative' alternative to Twitter has been delisted by Amazon, Apple, Google, and all their other service providers....my guess is, you are going to label these companies as 'leftist', instead of looking inward and correct the problem....but ask yourself, why are the other hosting providers not coming to sign-up Parler, at least there is a lot of money to be made? And there are many Republican hosting providers in the US and non of them are willing to host Parler's content, resulting in Parler taking Amazon to Court to force them to host their vile content with messages calling for violence and even against the VP. You might think that these vile contents and calls for violence are speeches, but you should understand these companies serve the general public and have an obligation & responsibility to maintain civility and moderation. |
HRHQueenPhil:Though, not excusing it....but men having extramarital affairs can’t be one of the reasons in comparison to our parents’ marriage. Men have been having extramarital affairs from days of old, it is nothing new. Solomon had 700 wives and cheated on them with 300 side chicks. So, far in today's society, I have not seen any man who has marched Solomon's records, which could suggest that men have even moderated this loose behave in today's society compared to days of old. I agree with your other points....and in addition; I think the high expectations placed on marriages today could be one of the reasons. If your mom or dad sits you down today and narrates to you, the sh!t they had to take and are still taking from dad or mom; you will say God forbid and wouldn’t take it from anyone. Our parents are not saints, they have faults but they also have low expectations and high tolerance level for each other, the reverse is the case today. Plus the new women's movement, feminists, etc....who all say, they have ‘awoken’ and believe that they have to claim ‘something’ that men and society have been depriving them of, for centuries now, of course, marriages will not last as before, because the equilibrium has shifted. Many of the current average lifespans of marriage in our society is the new equilibrium and new normal, giving the changing dynamics between men and women. |
naijapips04:You are comparing apples with oranges. One is a private conversation, the other public. He violated the terms and conditions of those companies that, he agreed to abide by hence he was rightly booted out. So you know, MTN also have terms and conditions, which includes e.g. using their services for impersonation, infringement, misrepresentation, violating other people’s rights, causing violence, etc....go back and read your MTN pack service terms & conditions. If you violate any of those, they have every right to boot you off their network and place a lifetime ban on you. |
Providence2020:Firstly, The US President is not above the law, if he sign up for a social media account and agreed to their terms and conditions, just like everyone else, he should abide by those same terms and conditions period! You clearly don’t understand US export controls as it relates to security software and hardware, there is no relationship between export controls and the subject at hand. You also don’t understand Section 230 laws: Section 230 provides internet providers with two protections: 1. Intermediary & 2. Good Samaritan protections. You guys focus only on the Intermediary protections, which shield them from liabilities regarding someone else post, while ignoring the fact that, the same section 230 also gives them Good Samaritan protections. The Good Samaritan protections, gives them the right to clean up contents, remove contents that do not meet their guidelines, come with Good Samaritan rules to ensure proper discuss and enforce those rules without being afraid of any legal liability. Section 230 is the bedrock of the internet, without it, the internet will come to a halt, it is not going any way, as it will affect all internet and media companies holding them liable for users contents. Also, if you look at it critical; with Section 230, these companies have the powers to moderate content, but can afford to do it loosely because of the protections given....without section 230, they still have the power to moderate, albeit this time around they will be more aggressive and strict. The irony is, the only reason Trump has been able to enjoy social media up till now, is because of the protections of section 230....pre 90s; when internet companies were held liable for user contents, Trump and his likes would have been booted out of all social media sites. |
Hongkog:It is their company, they set the rules and regulations. If you don’t like it or can’t abide by it, hit door and go build your own and set your own rules. |
Fake News! Where is the kiss? That is a peck, not a kiss. Come to think, if were actual Ahmed and his wife kissing picture, given the outrage about the peck, they would have been asking for his head. |
doggedfighter:It is because, the ladies have lost all sense of shame, they have to smile on camera so to advertise their prostitution business enterprise. Something tells me that, if the cameraman would oblige, they would have included their phone numbers in the footnote. |
Twelfthman:Twitter is a private company. Freedom of speech guaranteed in the US first amendment clearly states that, it is only applicable against the government and not private entities. If you walk into my house and open your mouth and start talking nonsense, I have every right to swoop you across the face and push you outside, you do not have freedom of speech in my house. An individual does not have freedom of speech against another individual, same thing with companies to another company....You only have freedom of speech against the government! That the government cannot muzzle you. Trump was using Twitter platform, servers and resources to talk trash, they warned him and when he refused, they rightly kicked him out....same way Nairaland can kick anyone out from here who does not comply with their rules! |
GeneralPula:There are currently countless number of social apps around today, many dedicated to right wings. But, they are not mainstream and never be, because of the viral speech spewed on those sites. They will remain on the obscure section of the internet will heavy surveillance from the government. Trump can’t survive on his own platform or those, because he need main media to rebroadcast his messages. Many conservatives social society on the obscure section of the internet have been advising to join them he wouldn’t. |
The guy be a prayer warrior or his mom or relatives must have been praying for him. God has finally answered her prayers to kick that relationship to the curb and move on, he should go to Church and do thanksgiving for this deliverance. It is wrong of your mom to place an expectation and responsibility on the guy, even if you guys are married, talkless of dating. Gifts suppose to be willing and with no coercion. Your mother have a self-entitlement mentality and you were wrong to have call your fiancé on the matter. Only God knows, what would have been coerced out of the poor guy in the marriage list, that your mom and relatives would have demanded of him or the other entitlements that he would have expected to meet to fit the model of a ‘good Inlaw’ to your people. Do put pressure on anyone, you don’t know that perspective, upbringing, financial situations. The guy insist of coming to see your mom despite your absent, it means he cares not only for you but for your mom and family. He will think twice before coming next time. |
O boy! O Boy!! Some of the misguided religious few that were saying Trump is the 'Last Trump' of God spoke about in the Bible before the Armageddon. These sets would now be disappointed, since Speake Pelosi: "In a press release on Friday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she’s discussed options with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to prevent outgoing President Donald Trump from taking military actions — including nuclear strikes — during the final two weeks of his term. Pelosi said she spoke with Gen. Mark Milley on Friday morning “to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes and ordering a nuclear strike.”,..." Armageddon averted, Trump is not afterall the Last Trump of God, He is a wanabi dictator and a coward! |

FarahAideed:Did BLM break into the White House, the Senate and Capitol? |
peteromenihu:All the remaining votes are from democratic strongholds. Even Purdue that is currently ahead of Ossoff by about 1,200 votes will lose to Ossoff. The two Democrats will win both Georgia Senate races, Trump lost again. |
Poloyanabo2:You can’t rule out the possibility that, she may done it on purpose. Women, are a very complex beings; many even in marriages today would prefer to birth their kids for someone else....and some can even vow not to give their husbands kids (or more kids) as a pay back over some past misunderstanding. The fact that, they are two kids not one, likely supports the opinion that, it was intentional on her part, most likely the second kids. I have meet women who had vowed to have all their kids with one man....”so that the kids will stay together”. These are the kind of women, that helps in solidifying some men’s belief that marriage is overrated and a scam and many oh choosing to stay away. |
simplesearch:I read the entire statement from the school and knew that the Principal has been suspended. Suspension is not a punishment and does not mean that, the School concluded that Principal did anything wrong. As the head of the school, it is normally to remove her from that position while investigations are ongoing, any organization out there does it, so it is not exemplary. The school management itself did not indicate that, the Principal was culpable hence, she was suspended, so it is presumptuous if anyone of us assume that is the case, moreso she was suspended immediately the school management took over the case and at the beginning of their investigations. Based on the statement from the school, it appear that, they have completed their investigations but are instead deferring to the Police to release the conclusions, which could not be done now due to the holidays. My point is, they should not have deferred to the Police. Police do criminal investigations and have a high bar of culpability. The Church on the other hand have a lower bar of culpability and they should have released their own internal reports based on those higher standards. If a lecturer is rumored to be having an affairs with a student, the University conducts internal investigations, release their reports, dismiss or acquit the lecturer/student, then hand over the matter to the Police for any criminal investigations & prosecution (if any, either against the lecturer for the alleged offense or against the student), they don’t defer to the police. The Police and the Army do the same, they even do a Court Marshall and discipline the officer’s involved based on their own internal higher standards before referring the matter to the Police for their own investigations and/or prosecution....everything organization, company, etc out there does the same, because they all have internal rules of conducts which are higher than what Police criminal investigations looks at and they discipline the the affected individuals using those internal higher standards. |
I love Deeper Life and believe the Church stands for and teaches the sound doctrines of Jesus. However, I think they didn’t go far enough. I understand that they seem restrained as a result of the ongoing Police investigations, but that shouldn’t be the church’s standard. They should have, through their own higher standard, publicize the results of their internal investigation and punish the culprits by dismissal or something and then hand them over to the Police for their own investigations and criminal prosecution where necessary. The Police or Army or any other organizations out there don’t wait until the police finish their investigations before carrying their own internal investigations and melt out punishments eg demotion, dismissal, etc...after Lee hi he they hand them over to the Police for their criminal investigation and prosecution. |
Dis girl can dey lie!...I don watch dis Nollywood film na. |
Auxtin85:I seriously take offense on behalf of ‘manhood’ world wide, for you comparing them to Femi Gbajabiamila. Femi is a rubber stamp and a weakly that does not take any stand whatsoever. He always bow his head and gavels-in any and every paper pushed to his desk. At least no matter how weak manhoods or how small they may be, once in a while, they take a ‘stand’ and are at ‘full mask’, with strength, vigor and vitality, ready to fearlessly conquer, subdue and overcome.....Yes, some only last for about a minute or so, but they are better than Femi that can not take a stand for a second, even if his life depends on it! |
GentleRay:It is very difficult to rig elections in the US....and State elections are not coordinated by the Governor. The Secretary of State in each State coordinates Elections in that State and the Secretary of State can not even bully anyone, because each County supervise their own Elections, conduct the counts and send the results to the State for certification. So, each county are actually the power house of Elections in the US, that is why it is very difficult to rig; because you have to rig hundreds of counties using different systems and methods to conduct and collect their Elections and you have to compromise hundreds of people across party lines to be successful at rigging the Election and pray they all keep mute |
snoopanddre:Quite the contrary, the fact that despite Trump's determinations, efforts including that of his cohorts; he could not change a single vote in the Presidential elections or have his will or way, shows that the America democracy was tested and it stood it's ground. The pillars of the America system held strong and firm. Had it been, this was a different country, when the leader was this determine to over-ride the will of the voters and still remain the President, those countries would have caved, and this include every country in Africa and most countries in the world plus those in the western hemisphere. Just like his past failures, nothing will happen to change the results on January 6th, he will still fail. Any GOP Senator plus a GOP congressman can object all they want, their efforts will only delay the certification by the joint-congress for a few hours for each to take a vote....The House of Rep will return a vote opposing the the objection and for the results to be accepted and I am also 99.9% positive that, the Senate will also return a vote to accept the results....Though only one House need to return a vote to accept for the results to be accepted. By 1200 noon on January 20, Trump will become an Ex-President and there is nothing he can do about it. |
gassbee:My conclusions as well. She is either very very naive or seriously up to something not good. From her own narration, the woman gave her more than a month to park out and she refused to do so, but instead travelled to Abuja to spent the month. On coming back, the lady again reminded her to pack out, but she took her time to go take a shower, again after the first fight she took her time to be looking in the mirror and rubbing cream. I don’t care if the door is locked, burst it and get the fvck out. On a second thought, it appear that she was been confident because, the husband has been telling her ‘don’t mind my wife, just stay as long as you wish’. You know guys can give ladies all kind of unimaginable promises and confidence, especially when puni is on the table. I very much doubt it, if any guys is willing to sacrifice to face the wrath & fury of his wife over another lady, if the other lady is not supplying unlimited puni....so she is not telling the truth, now she is not only out of accommodation, she might also lose that job, |
lovecares34:The first part is correct, but the stabilizer was not the cause, most likely a fake charger that bridged the current. Stabilizer stabilizes and smooth out power fluctuations, you need it mainly on NEPA because the power might be too low or too high, the stabilizer ensures that your load gets a smooth output despite the un-smooth NEPA input. Putting a stabilizer on a Generator with an AVR is an over kill and a waste, because the input from Gen is already smooth. It will not cause any harm, it is just not necessary. Also, the above is only applicable to Generators that have inbuilt AVR - Automatic Voltage Regulator. If yours Gen does not have an AVR, then it is required that you use a stabilizer to ensure your loads are protected. |
Draslo:Not all blacks in America or AA disdain actual Africans. It is mostly the ignorant ones from the projects and hoods who have that mentality because they believe, that the new generation Africans came over to take opportunities and jobs away from them. The educated ones don’t have that mentality, because they believe they have what it takes not only to complete with the new generation Africans who are mostly Educated but also with the White folks. These set of AA are forming more bond and friendship with new generation Africans in the US, because they see more commonalities with them and truly want to know more about their roots and the culture of their fore fathers. |
Righteousness2:There are planetary conjunctions just like the one that happened this month, at least once every two decades.... There was one in 1961, 1980, 2000 and now in 2020, there will be another in 2020, then 2040, 2060, etc. Each of the planetary bodies travel around their sun at a predictable speed, so it is mathematically possible to calculate when two planetary bodies will be closest to each order to form the conjunction we just witnessed. You can now understand why they occur predictably every 20 yrs, because their speed of travel is known and also, we know their elliptical travel paths. |
butterfly777:Yes, I know why the Principal was removed from the group and Yes you are current & correct, the student,s mother raised an alarm and sent it to the Principal and the other parents. The Principal myopically, intended to nip it in the bud and deal with the affected parent directly. But, that is not the right way to deal with issues like this, when you have a predictor among your student population. The proper thing to do, was to send a letter to all the parents and tell them about what happen and ask them to speak with their children if they have had a similar situation and report it back to the school management for proper action. This would restore confident from the public on the school management that, despite the fact that we live in a dangerous world and no one is perfect, at least the school management is looking out for the best interest of their children and wards....and that is what will happen in any developed society. This way affected students, including possibly previously molested students who out of fear could not talk will be located and given the needed medical and psychological treatment they will need. This will help to correct anything that would make those kids to grow up to become something else and menace to society. Hiding bad stuff, does not always work....you can see how the Principal's efforts panned out, at the end of the day, her efforts to suppress it infuriated the mother, leading her to make more social media videos and posts, further exposing what happened and the negative reappraisal from the Principal in removing her from the Whatsapp group, it backfired spectacularly and she is not our of a job. |
MrJibana:...but, the Principal was trying to minimize and cover it and chalk it up to propaganda and misinformation to tarnish the good name of the school. The Principal had to even remove the mother of the affected student from their regular school parents Whatsapp group, making her escalate her outcry to social media leading to this response from the management and suspension of the Principal. |
RedPanthar:I totally agreed. My point is to juxtapose what the society thinks of men in Nigeria vs the Western world....also how men carry themselves on average in these two societies. Yes yours observations of my write-up that men in African settings on average fall into this ‘strict posture’ category. My post is to tell these category of men that, in the western world, that is not the case; rather it is half and half, so they should adjust. Now, the debate about which of these postures: African ‘strict posture’ vs Western ‘half-n-half posture’ is the best is left for another day...but if you look at marriages on both hemispheres; African’s last longer despite these strict postures., though this might not be a true test. |
bukatyne:Very good observation. You should remember that, when the law or Judge want to keep the level of family living the same post divorce, they consider the children of the marriage, who did nothing wrong. The questions the law try to answer in favor of the children included: If the children use to visit Paris, London, Disney World, etc once in a year; why should they now be punished by been denied that opportunity because the adults in the room, decide to pick their ball and want to go their separate ways? If the children use to stay in a five star hotel, why punished them by reducing it to four star hotel because you guys are divorcing? The parents were the ones, out of their own free will elevated the children living conditions and experiences to these high standards. The court is just there to ascertain what those standards were and try as much as possible to maintain them. I don’t think divorce is as attractive as you put it. Though African men are most at disadvantage when it happens to them in the western world. Just like it is expected in Africa and Nigeria, these men expect their wives to be submissive, obedient and take them as the final authority...while some Africa women will not be happy with this and insist that ‘we are now in advance society where everyone is equal and we should live that way period!’. They also forget that, because of that same African culture, the man goes against the ‘advance society’ culture to make you a full house wife while he toils day & night; he sends you to Nursing School, paid the whole school fees (in a true western world culture, you would be on your own or in loans) and he did many things by you just because you are both of the same culture that his counterpart western culture males don’t do. All these he did, because that culture says he is the head, as such he went far and above to provide his absolute best and sometimes 100% and not requiring even 10% from you, talkless of the western culture 50%. Now, if the tables are turned and during divorce...the men should understand that these same women will come for 50% and even more of everything....The truth is, it is their right to demand for it, just like it was never your responsibility as a man in the western world to provide more than 50%. Yes in Nigeria or Africa, it is your responsibility and societal expectations as a man to provide 100%, but that knowledge will not help you in a western country’s court room, so have that in mind as you toil, sweat and work your azz off for any lady in the western world. I will say, let them work and make their own money and don’t forget to demand for half the rent or mortgage money from them at the end of each month, you might think, it is hash or it makes you look ‘less than a man’...write it in your head, you guys are equals..nothing more, nothing less. Also the fact that you demand and she pays half the rent/mortgage will tremendously help your case in divorce court years to come and might even help you keep your house or if the court gave her the house because of the kids, she will be ordered to pay you half of the equity in installments. |
Even Agbero dey send their pickin abroad for school and local man still dey believe say Nigeria go better one day one day. We are watching.. |
