I hope Niger, Mali, Bukina etc remain resolute in thire new federation aims and reject ECOWAS. |
On the other hand, if Ghana wasn't such a crappy and rubbish country, the bus wouldn't have spent 3 days stranded there. I bet if it was Kenya, the Kenyans would have fixed the bus or found some way of getting the Nigerians home regardless of Nigeria government or authorities responsibility. ![]() If Ghana supporters bus was stranded in Nigeria, Nigeria or Nigerians would have assisted them in some way to get them home. |
A foreigner reading through posts would be wondering why posters are insulting Nigeria the nation instead of the bus company where Supporters club organisers hired the bus - or indeed the Supporters Club leadership ![]() Is Nigeria Eagle Supporters club officially affiliated to the National team? Are they part and parcel of the national team set up? |
Saidfx:The highlighted effectively suggest that Sokoto state, and perhaps others in the north, belongs to Niger Republic. You stating that food is being smuggled from Nigeria Sokoto state to Niger Republic does not cast Nigeria in a stronger light if the result of said smuggling result in starvation in Nigeria. That the Nigeria president was forced to renege on his sanction strategy due to sanctioned Niger Republic being assisted by Sokoto state to undermine that sanction in such a way that Nigeria was this adversely affected, effectively means Nigeria was sanctioned by Niger Republic. |
8. Lifting Imposition on travel bans on the military officials and their families involved in the coup attempt including anyone who accepts to take a position in the military government lifted.Anyway point 8 , quoted, makes me doubt the entire thing. As rubbish as ECOWAS, they can't be that stupid and inept bordering on criminal! While majority of us congratulate the usurping of French hegemony over those francophone nations, one would still expect and hope that formal organisations maintain the principles for which they are setup. In short, while I may support my brother in his bid to not marry the girl he impregnated, I still expect my father to be that mature adult that adopts a dim view of the entire episode even to the extent of whooping his ass! |
Biafrannuke:This is the type of arrogance that miffs me about Africans. They'll have nothing but boast the most. How I wish Nigeria leadership would be resolutely Nigeria focused instead of Africa focused. Nigeria needs to dedicate the next 20 years to growing Nigeria in all areas. Spare no cash on anything to do with Africa integration but devote every dollar to Nigeria states integration. From housing, telecom, AI, Aerospace, railway, power, roads, shipping, agriculture, health, education, maritime, science and research, semiconductors, fintech, entertainment, sports and recreation, to security including military, police, records of death and birth, forensics, border control, immigration etc. We have so much work to do in Nigeria, why the hell do we (Nigeria Leaders )even for a second entertain these crappy, decrepit Africa nations with anything but the utmost contempt? Why? Nigeria has such potential on her own... what a pity..... I wish I lead Nigeria |
Border control. Nigerians in danger of learning welfare dependency culture from the rest of Africa that for decades survived on handouts from the West. We are not a handsout begging sort of people.... I don't know, perhaps our Opposition Politics culture is panicking government into these quick fix measures that may result in long-term damage to how Nigerians respond to life's usual difficulties... We need to remain the world's formost survivors not become lazy entitled, big baby Africans like those in the rest of the continent. If nobody dash us, we go drugup, rant, loot and destroy. Pathetic! |
Nearly the entirety of those canvassing for coup in Nigeria are a mixed bag of deplorables. They range from Africans worried that the very Nigeria that day daily mocked as failed state may in the end emerge the only Democratic State remaining in the region after military has dealt with thire various nations, leaving them the true failed, military banana republics. They fear that in this scenario Nigeria may attract even more foreign investments than it already does. Then there are those, Nigerians this time, whose need for coupe is merely Coupe as an endorsement of thire political narrative that the party in power is an utter failure. Finally there are those who view a coupe in Nigeria as the catalyst required to precipitate the breakup of Nigeria |
There was once a mini famine in Niger Republic due to issues in Nigeria that I've now forgotten. In other words, Nigeria virtually feeds Niger Republic. Should Nigeria prevent food products to Niger Republic, the other West Africa nations wouldn't be able to recover the deficit regardless of ECOWAS politics. This may lead to greater insecurity in Niger Republic that will eventually encroach Nigeria if Nigeria continues to dilly-dally over tightening her borders. |
datola:Even if someone was named Adiola Salif Keita El Maliani nee Maghrebi, Nigerians in leadership wouldn't raise an eyebrow, they might still appoint her Minister of Explosive Munitions. Adiola alone would be the binding, blinding qualifier. |
Ogaonos:I've always thought and suggested Nigeria requires some sort of university of Governance and Urban development. I've never understood why work as important as governing a nation and state required no qualification related to the role. A University of Governance and Urban Development would for instance teach Practical Nation building Economics and capacity building. Provide training and education for policymakers, government officials, and politicians to enhance their understanding of economic principles and improve decision-making. I'm serious. |
9 ? |
I didn't conjure the following, I read it in some UN or WHO literature years ago, during my undergraduate years: the upshot was that the presence of Nigeria in West Africa was why the West Africa region hadn't experienced an Ethiopia scale famine. |
West Africa's poor hordes under the bridge - Manage your borders better. Terrorism - manage your borders. Exacerbating food crises - manage your borders better. Changing Character of the people - manage your borders better. No Border Control, No Country! |
Bandits have reportedly killed no fewer than nine personsDon't you just wish there was a law or procedure of it that on apprehending a suspect, later adjudged murderer, the sentencing mandates that he or she, the murderer, must be placed in a cell with the dead for upwards of a week to resurrect them failure of which will mean the forfeiting of your own life (execution) ? |
Oddly enough I wrote something earlier about Bounty Hunting as a tool that States in Nigeria should add to thire insecurity fighting asnal. If the increase in kidnapping in Nigeria is caused by huge ransom payments perhaps huge reward money on the heads of kidnapers may lead to increased kidnaper apprehending.... |
Dollyak:Thankfully as a high IQ Nigerian you rep us well, somewhat making up for the deficit. |
If this does not already happen, Nigeria states or responsible security authorities should institute Bounty Hunting. That is, offer citizens opportunity to earn a living by specialising in capturing value criminals. Place a million Niara reward money on the heads of criminals for anyone that can capture or bring them in dead or alive. |
Good for them. We should be wishing them luck because they are going to need it, with the West closed off to them in support of European France. Anyway, they deserve success after the leeching they've endured from France. Senegal, Ivory coast and Ghana should join them also to form a confederation with french language and colonial exploitation in common. Ghana is an exception but they do have a large population of French speakers also - or so I've heard. In any case too many Africa nations are unviable alone - they are too small, too vulnerable to foreign exploiting and destabilising; too impoverished and too far from industrialisation. My hope is for Nigeria to go it alone. Nigeria is heavily populated, resources rich, full of highly educated well travelled people, has huge international population etc. We should in future also look to incorporating to Nigeria the island nations off the coast of Nigeria. Places like Biasko, Principe, Sao-tome....maybe get back Bakasi. If we are to become that great potential Nigeria, we need to make that commitment. Unseriousness or reluctance to come to terms with this issue is largely the origin of terrorism, banditry and general existential insecurity We are facing. We can't have loose and undetermined affiliations with bordering nations, we are either Nigerians or not. You can't admire your cake in its box after prior consuming it. |
Codes151:Thank you. Large percent of those that do this "persecuting" of Nigerians are not Nigerians. And Persecution is what it is and nothing to do with political affiliations. They throw in anti Tinubu or anti Buhari rhetoric to make it seem like politics. What has attacking Nurses from Nigeria working abroad to do with Tinubu? What has indirectly supporting the social and racial politics being played in the UK by those that want less African nurses and more Indian nurses, got to do with Tinubu ? Bitter and jealous Africans from elsewhere, masquerading under Opposition Politics, to nitpick and chew away at all areas of reputed Nigerians excellence. Taking advantage of our own very real and rotten Opposition Politics culture! |
Nigerians are not usually a stabby, killy lot when it comes to public or domestic brawling, let alone women brawling. What's happening ? ![]() |
metaluterus:See logic, and some people wonder why great technical innovations and inventions aren't commonly attributed to Africans He died because he believed in Nigeria..... A six year old's words in thire first forages into thoughtful exposition couldn't be more adorably laughable... |
Lagos trains look more impressive. This evolved to interstate railways would be even more impressive. Highways are low tech. In comparison to the Nigeria rail revolution, great looking highways are superficially impressive. They're a little like trying to impress by covering a dingy city with Christmas lighting. Cheap form of wow factor! Well planned cities with good paved road network trumps super highways. |
Inspirer1:I once wrote a novel exploring something like this. The novel was premised on the notion that the universe is populated by immortal spirits. Those tired of endless existing can find death through inhabiting corporeal forms such as men and other beasts. |
Africa ![]() ![]() ![]() ? Shame on us. |
Nigeria losing due to high expectations of winning. This counteracted by the hope Victor Osimhen justifies his reputation by at last scoring in this tournament. |
