When one thinks of it, poverty capital of the world juxtaposed with kidnapping is somewhat of an oxymoron. I mean who would consider kidnapping as a carer where people generally are supposedly too poor for two square meals? ![]() Surely kidnapping is a relatively wealthy nation's symptom not a poor nation's one. A relatively wealthy nation with insecurity issues... |

Good. At least she is doing something useful for her future and, if you're into spiritualism, good for Ghana. Nature seem to work for Nations who's people are fundamentally good. Nigeria's aren't bad minded or grudgefull people. This may be why Nigeria seem somehow fortunate relative to insecurity engineered by unknown forces. Nigerians, unlike the rest of Africa, don't nurse ill will towards other Nations. You'll never for instance find Nigerians going on South Africa forums to insult South Africans yet claiming that they are Ghanians in order to get South Africans hating Ghanaians. This is the type of things Ghanians do. When some African Americans say they like Nigeria or wish to go and settle in Nigeria, Ghanians will start insulting them while claiming to be Nigerians. These actions displeases spiritual forces which then negatively impacts Ghana the country. This girl is doing her own thing. She is good for herself and good for Ghana. Leave her alone. On the other hand, every controversy is useful controversy to the average YouTuber striving for views, likes or dislikes.....so there's that aspect. |
The US Navy is working on a radical new submarine that will slice through the ocean so fast that, even before you are halfway through watching ‘Oppenheimer,’ it will have zipped underwater from New York to London. Last month, Lockheed Martin and NASA jointly revealed the X-59 experimental aircraft, which is expected to fly at 1.4 times the speed of sound (925mph) without generating an explosive sonic boom. The sleek jet is expected to play an instrumental role in bringing back supersonic commercial air travel. But what if I tell you that researchers are working on a submarine that could travel more than three times faster than the X-59 jet? Yes, you read that right, and it is possible to travel at those speeds underwater, at least theoretically. Back in 2016, a team of researchers at Penn State Applied Research Laboratory funded by the US Navy started the development work on a revolutionary submarine that can attain supersonic speeds. Obviously, the biggest problem for vessels reaching high speeds both on the surface of water or below it is the huge amount of drag created while moving through it. But there’s a simple solution to overcome drag underwater – a bubble. The researchers are working on a technology called supercavitation that envelopes a submerged vessel inside an air bubble to mitigate drag. You’ll be surprised that the technology is not new. The Soviets developed it during the Cold War era for a torpedo named Shakval. The Soviet torpedo reached a speed of 370km/h (around 230mph), making it a lot faster than any other conventional torpedo. Interestingly, the researchers in the US aren’t the only ones working on a supersonic submarine. According to the SCMP, scientists at Harbin Institute of Technology’s Complex Flow and Heat Transfer Lab in China started developmental work on a supersonic submarine, which also relies on the same supercavitation technology. The researchers claimed that the radical technology could cut down drag dramatically. In theory, the technology can help the submarine hit supersonic speed underwater, or about 5,800km/h (~3600mph). If developed, the supersonic submarine would cut down the journey time from New York to London to just 50 minutes. Furthermore, the 5300-mile distance between San Francisco and Tokyo will be covered in 90 minutes by the radical submarine. But don’t expect the supersonic submarine to become a reality anytime soon, as there are some major hurdles on the way. Conventional propellers will never be able to help propel a vessel to such speeds. It would need a powerful underwater rocket engine, which still needs to be developed. Then there’s the problem of steering, as traditional rudders won’t work in a bubble and at those speeds. There are some other major challenges that might take a very long time to be solved.

Football could be improved by painting and demarketing the pitch as is done in American football. This way, in addition to the current 12 yard penalty kicks, they can introduce 50 yard penalty kicks, 100 yard penalty kicks etc. |
FG Mulls Food Import If Hunger PersistsInternational market's reward for funding the war on Nigeria farmers. Turn em from self-sufficiency to dependency. It's a well worn tactics against Africa by the West. Although in this Nigeria case, neighbouring African nations, learning from the West historically, may be responsible for funding those waging war on Nigeria's farmers. Africa fear Nigeria turning inwards (becoming wholly self reliant) forging ahead and leaving them behind. |
vaxx:Often these yams are from Nigeria disguised as from Ghana. People go to the relevant market in UK and US mouthing " give us Ghana Puna Yam Puna yam (however that's spelt) not knowing it's Nigerian yam they may be buying. |
Raphael81:Nurses and doctors are meant to be precisely where things are not working. Where things are not working, you'll find the most needy, including medically needy. Doctors and Nurses running away to organised Nations is a little like Soldiers shouting "war has stated, it's time to run away". If Doctors and Nurses want to go abroad to take advantage of better pay for themselves and thire families, fine. Go. Go quietly. Just don't swager about it. |
Rostikol:Insulting of Nigeria has its pattern. For instance, when electricity is used on Nigeria the culprits are usually organised Ghanaians. Nigeria's organised Opposition Politics then sometime join in. |
hardknocksng:Genius 🤣 |
The homes of average to low income earners in Nigeria would be improved by replacing those ubiquitous bar threaded curtains (common in many Nigeria homes,) with venetian blinds. Pvc Venetian blinds aren't expensive.

IronGalaxy:The highlighted is really an insincere question since jealousy/envy are easy accusations to defend against regardless of how evident. |
God1000: "South Africa and Nigeria are always at loggerheads"What Nigerians are obsessed with South Africans or are at loggerheads with those stupid people? Why is it South Africans and Ghanians are unable to take responsibility for their shortcomings such as envy and jealousy issues ? These people endlessly target Nigerians with one form of attitude or another and when Nigerians defend themselves they couch this as some form of equal rivalry. For instance, If Nigeria lose to South Africa, not one South African will be harmed by Nigerians regardless of how South Africa fans react. However if South Africa lose to Nigeria, Nigerians will be harmed by South Africans depending on how the Nigerians react and actually if they don't react. How does the scenario expressed above lead to concluding that there is some sort of happy- clappy, rivalry between South Africa and Nigeria? |
There was a period in Nigeria when everyone, regardless of class or means, prided themselves in extreme neatness. During this period in Nigeria history, anyone dressed like the kidnapers (pictured in first page ) would be looked on with suspicion, maybe they are a thief, a madman or someone that drifted into Nigeria from Neighbouring countries through our Northern borders, and you'd give them a wide-berth. Perhaps this attitude helped Nigerians stay safer than nowadays, presumably, when anything is accepted. Coincidentally, in the UK people dressed like tramps run the risk of being picked up by the police and carted off to facilities for the mentally suspect where medical authorities use them to test new drugs . Yes, the West has very dark undertones. |
Bullfallo:Lol, India. Indians and Ghanians have an overblown sense of importance in common. And also the tendency to appropriate the inventions and contributions of others to themselves. |
Nigeria is like a gigantic open air carpark full of goodies run by a group of people. A model Western nation is like a branded store full of goodies in a mall. The branded indoor store in a mall is more secure. The owners know its parameters, have everything in shop itemised, have only one entrance to watch. They are in control. The owners of an open, carpark, sprawling market are not in control, can't keep control, they can't monitor in-comming or out-going. There isn't one entrance or one exit. They can't secure goods for the deviants are provided with too many open-ended opportunities to steal and wreck havoc. |
Society Management Blueprint from the West: Don't waste a good misery. Chaos, death, anarchy, accidents , crime, kidnaping, etc are all wood that feed flaming capitalism. Only novice nations fail to capitalise on misery. I'm glad some in Nigeria are beginning to get it. |
Scientists say new glowing plants could replace artificial yard lighting Light Bio is selling bioluminescent plants that glow in the dark as an alternative to artificial yard lighting. There's a new backyard lighting option on the scene as synthetic biology scientists have developed plants that glow in the dark, which they say could provide an alternative to artificial lighting. The team of 26 scientists, who work across nine research organizations, used mushroom genes to brighten plants. The first bioluminescent petunias will go on sale in the US as of February 1st. The Firefly™ Petunia is available in the 48 contiguous states of the US and promises to give off an 'ethereal glow' at night, from a seedling to a mature plant with an abundance of flowers. 'As part of the scientific team that discovered the bioluminescence genes from fireflies, I helped create the first glowing plant in 1986, which has inspired scientists worldwide,' says Keith Wood, CEO of Light Bio. 'In the forty-odd years since, we have discovered a new bioluminescence technology that now allows us to bring these delightful plants to consumers. We can’t wait to see their reactions and to discover the bright future ahead for this incredible technology,' he adds. Keith Wood CEO of Light Bio Keith Wood has over 30 years of experience in research and development, primarily in the biotech industry. Keith started his career at Promega Corporation in 1990 and had various roles, including Head of Research, R& Director, and R& Group Manager. At Promega Corporation, he also served as an Industrial Fellow. In 2019, Keith joined Light Bio, Inc. as the Chief Executive Officer.Unlike artificial yard lighting (such as string lighting like this set of string lights from Amazon), the magic of glowing petunias is made possible by optimizing isolated genes from different species of luminous mushrooms. It builds on an earlier discovery that you can create continuously glowing plants by inserting DNA from the glowing mushrooms, revealing similarities between mushroom bioluminescence and plant metabolism. The petunias, sold by Light Bio, have optimized genes inserted in them to boost their luminous appearance. 'This achievement isn't just novel and exciting - it shows how the power of synthetic biology can light a passion for nature and technology,' says Jason Kelly, CEO and co-founder of Ginko Bioworks, a Light Bio partner in this project. https://www.homesandgardens.com/ |

Unequal relationship: Nigerians see Nigeriens as brothers and would be willing to torch Nigeria if forced to choose sides. Nigeriens on the other hand don't feel reciprocal. Whatever blood ties bond Nigerians to Niger people does not seem to bond Niger people to Nigeria. |
I wouldn't be surprised if majority of kidnapping and horror stories from Nigeria are fabrications. This suspicious and questioning attitude has been one of my main positions on Niraland, which is why an abiding refrain of mine has been Evidence Seeking! As I've stated many times before, at one point in Nigeria, I made it a mission to track down the origins of the lurid, phantasmagorical, supernatural and horror articles often plastered over the front of our most famous daily rags. I never discovered anything, trails invariably exhausted like a line of water from rain trying to establish a pond in the desert. Nigerians need to add Evidence Seeking to thire "How To Survive In Nigeria" toolbox. The advent of Social media, AI and the various faking software online make this even more imperative. Actually one of the best policies to adopt in life, is believe or disbelieve nothing, keep an open mind! And hold on to nothing dogmatically for things are generally fluid. As Bruce Lee might say, 'be adaptive, be like water my friend! |
Neoteny7:I wouldn't say the ones you mean are dumb. They may be suffering from what I term "Mature Mindset". Mature Mindset syndrome can be found in a scenario such as this: a parent sees thire child taking apart and old table fan in order to get at the electromagnet motor with the intention of making a helicopter out of it. The parent, hollers, " get your backside into the house and do something useful! Your mates are selling moi, moi or helping out at the farm, you are there acting like a child! When will you grow up!' Childish mindsets lead to Technological advancements. Mature Mindset can't see the importance of rockets, space advancement, AI, the creating of asteroid defence systems. The cost of garri and tomatoes is more important. |
Meaning of Fake. Fake (in modern urban usage) origin: Black British, specifically inner city black ghetto subculture. Fake is a term often used by the unemployed, gang members, and the progenies of single parent families as a means of sanctioning the progressive members of the black community. Usage has connotations of Envy. So for example: public schools educated children are FAKE. Middle and upper class blacks are FAKE. Africa immigrant are generally fakes, especially those from Nigeria, since they push education and STEM the hardest. The idea being that REAL black people are underclass and physically of a certain characteristics. For these ghetto or inner city people, Aspiration is anathema (although this seems more like sour grapes). They are unable to see that "The Struggle" can be facetted or multidimensional. Anything other than thire criminal, music or and riot based culture, turned resistance when convenient, is treacherous. Ghetto black people percive themselves as inheritors of the fight for racial equality and emancipation. The tragedy however is that they are the ones inimical to racial equality and emancipation since they conform and embrace the most the entrapping stereotypes used by the central culture on them. Nigerians should therefore be careful of bandying around the word FAKE. The woman and her husband are not pursuing FAKE lifestyle. |
I asked Google, Dates for the last known US and Nigeria executions. The following populated the reply page: America: 25 January 2024, Kenneth Eugene Smith. Nigeria: The last known executions in Nigeria were carried out in 2006, when at least seven men – all sentenced to death in Kano State in northern Nigeria – were hanged in Kaduna, Jos and Enugu prisons. |
Nothing attains legislation quicker than things to do with supposed women's wellbeing. If women wished it (especially women passed their prime) there'd be legislation commited to plucking out the eyes of men whose gaze dwelled too long on women. |

Garkuwan Yansanda had better win and not disgrace Nigeria. But I won't be surprised if he lost because, approaching what is truth, Nigeria is not as scary and tough as portrayed. Those charged with demarketing Nigeria in order to drive trade and investment from Nigeria to other West Africa nations, do a great job. They successfully painted Nigeria to the world as Hell manifest on earth when in reality, Nigeria is possibly one of the safest Nations in the World populated by the kindest, softest people you'll ever meet out there. Nigerians are physically strong and gifted people, indomitable people, but are well brought and on the humane side. Anyone abroad that is observant can see this a mile away. This is how the white guy came to see that those Dambe guys of Nigeria are not half as dangerous as portrayed. Hyaena and monkey men all bluster and no threat. |
I imagine kidnapers as society's failures and misfits: the mentally retarded, school dropouts, unemployed types with questionable morals, deviants, bastards and miscellaneous dregs. Plus numbnut zombies high on Kat and mice urine, loping into Nigeria from the Sahel. Africa is festooned with third world nations, meaning this types of people should be among the most stupid in the world due to the usual stunted human growth indexes identified by orgs like WHO, UNESCO and UN. Why, how, can such people outwit the Nigeria state? ![]() |
