We are getting married here in Michigan.  Unfortunately, it won't be in a church. More like a banquet hall.

RomanceRe: Woman's Intuition by livedit(f): 7:26pm On Jan 13, 2011
I'm inclined to COMPLETELY agree with Mrs. Chima on this subject.  I believe intuition is given to men/women.  I don't think it's just strictly given to women.  The Holy Ghost is every where and when he/she is getting that "feeling" that something is "off", that's usually the Holy Ghost warning you.  But like other's mentioned, if you are so "off" into whatever or "blinded" or refuse to "see" , "hear"  and/or "accept the truth that your mind and/or the enemy will begin playing tricks on you.  When in doubt about a situation, why not seek the Lord? He don't want you hurt. He wants the best for you.  Rather you choose to listen or not is on you.  But Mrs. Chima was on point.  Amen sista!

RomanceRe: Man And Age by livedit(f): 5:47pm On Jan 13, 2011
Just like some women, some men also get offended when you tell them they "look" older than they actually do.  Who wants to look old or older if that's not what you want.  Getting "older" is a part of life, some people do "look" older or younger than they actually are.  Fortunately, I was blessed to "look" younger.  But that don't change the fact of my age.  Just to some people it's an issue.
RomanceRe: Advice Seriously Needed by livedit(f): 5:35pm On Jan 13, 2011
I can understand you are confused and hurting and I can sympathize with you.  Ultimately, it IS her decision rather or not she chooses to stay in this relationship with you or let someone else make her decision for her.  All you can do is pray to God and tell God how you feel and ask Him for wisdom and guidance for what to do in this situation.  What should matter is what is in God's will for your life.  And if she IS a part of God's will in your life, so it will be.

Frankly, I don't let ANYONE determine my future happiness for my life.  Only opinion matters in situations like these is God first, me, and my significant other.  Everyone is given one life to live and they live it how they feel fits.  You can try expressing to her how you feel and give her the option rather or not to stay, but if she decides to go. As much as it hurts, you must let her go.  At that point, you will have to pray and ask God for courage and strength to move on with your life and pray that he brings who He has ordained for you since he knows all and knows what's best for you.

So if she does leaves and don't come back. Then you will know that she wasn't the one for you.  Most of the times, God won't give us what we want, but He will give you what you need.

RomanceRe: What Does It Mean To Be In Love To The Extent Of Marriage? by livedit(f): 5:03pm On Jan 13, 2011
Being in love is the most joyous, thrilling and happiest experience in a person's life! I think it's awesome! Granted, you are in love with the "right" person who also shares the same feelings and emotions as well. And when you are with that "right" person and "everything" is in order, marriage should definitely be included in the plans.
RomanceRe: Ladies, Would You Date These Men? by livedit(f): 4:49pm On Jan 13, 2011
Sup Mrs. Eve and everyone!

I love men PERIOD! They are the best creation (besides God) ever made for women. Some may disagree, but oh well. That's how livedit feel's about it. All of these men on here looks "delicious".  I'm kinda drawn to: "Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje". Maybe because his face favors my fiance.   wink  Dark, light whatever. Livedit loves them all.  After God, I couldn't live without men. It's nothing like having a man love you, respect you and treat you good and give you that "come here sexy" look. That drives livedit insane!!! Lord Jesus help me! grin
CultureRe: Tongue Piercing by livedit(f): 3:46pm On Jan 10, 2011
Yes, I have a tongue ring. I've had it for about a little over a year now. I don't think its anything wrong with it. However, I wouldn't recommend someone getting it. Mainly because it's very painful for the first few weeks after getting it. The pain is excruciating and your tongue is severly swollen. Therefore, your speech is slurred. I work in customer service so I have to talk all day and it was terrible. Having to repeat myself repeatedly because no one could barely understand me. God forbid when I have to say anything beginning with a "T" or "3". I sounded worse than Daffy Duck! I won't even preach on when I try to eat or drinking something hot or cold. But it fine now and after the "torture" I endured those 3 agonizing weeks I'm never taking it out! Lol. I guess livedit is crazy and a sucker for pain when it boils down to it. I also 8 piercings in each ear and only 3 tattoos. I also had a piercing under my bottom lip but it got infected so I took it out to later get my tongue ring. Anybody seeking to get a tongue ring make sure you take good care of it and follow the care guide. Keep plenty of ice to suck on, take IBprofen (not motrin or tylenol) and don't play with it until its COMPLETELY healed.

grin Another funny thread.  Although I don't need to, but I wear braids and pony tails. So my hair is "fake".  I have a "overlay" over my real nails so they don't break. So you can say my nails are "fake".  I do wear contact lenses, so you can say my eye color is "fake".  Everything else is "Au-natural"  wink
RomanceRe: My Girlfriend Is So Boring by livedit(f): 11:02pm On Jan 07, 2011
I agree with some of the others. In order for your relationship to continue to grow and blossom, you definitely need to be compatible with someone who have similiar (not necessarily all) interests as you. I'm assuming you two have been together for quite sometime and you genuniely care about this girl. There are some methods you can try to try and "boost" the relationship so both of you will be happy and satisfied. You do not want to let this situation continue on because sooner or later this is going to cause problems within your relationship in "other" areas. Such as leading up to but not limited to spats, resentment, anger, cheatingm break-up etc. And you don't sound like you want that.

So if you have attempted talking to her and telling her that every once in a while you would like to try and do such a such and let her know that it would mean a whole lot to you if you two could do these "things" together. Emphasize to her that by doing more fun, different or exciting things together, you two draw a stronger bond with one another. Just try and agree of compromise that would suit both parties involved in this situation. Maybe you can try one day after school, surprising her and picking her up and taking her away for the weekend, or take her out some where fun, but yet intimate for couples so she don't feel uneasy and out of place.

Crack jokes together, plan a vacation together and discuss some of the things you have planned and ask her what she would like to do or if she had fantases or something she always wanted to do. Try to create a relaxed atmosphere for her. You don't want to create tension because then she will think you are not happy with her period. You just want your point to get across as in, occassionally, you would like to go and hang out and do different things. Find out what her hobbies are. I'm sure it's something she likes to do but never had the motivation or "guts" to follow it through. Tap into her inner most feelings and learn exactly what will make her tick. Staying at home all the time don't have to be boring all the time, try to buy some "games", invite friends over etc. Just don't lose faith in her, I'm sure there is a wild side in her that's just waiting to be "unleashed". Just use kindness, patience and understanding when you approach her with any of the ideas mentioned on this board.

Good luck!
RomanceRe: Open For. by livedit(f): 10:26pm On Jan 07, 2011
So either way, we are degrading ourselves. huh I have to think, would it actually be worth it in the end? The man can leave you any given time and your job can go "belly up". Then what? You have sold yourself cheap for nothing. No thanks, I'll be single and unemployed if those were the only two options.
RomanceRe: What Would You Do? by livedit(f): 10:19pm On Jan 07, 2011
undecided that's a tough one. Well, considering this person has been cheating the entire time while you were dating would definitely make me immediately distrust this person upon finding out. The way I see it, if she/he was cheating then, what would make them stop now? Marriage is NOT an antidote to permanently stopping infidelity. I don't know why some people think that. huh

A strong prayer life along with marriage counseling is definitely in order for this situation. I would want to get down to the root of why the lies, infidelity and the betrayal. Which brings me to another question, how do this person NOT know the entire time their partner is cheating? Maybe those who refused to see the truth perhaps? The signs are there? We were all blessed with intuition, not just women? God gave us all common sense. I feel, you gotta know something is not right at some point in time. I know they say love is "blind" but I don't believe nobody is that darn "blind".

Well 190, livedit has only been with 2 Nigerian men. The first one I was with years ago before I rededicated my life back to Christ was just a occasional "hook-up". I wouldn't consider him romantic, freaky, yes, romantic no. I would just say he was aiighht. undecided

My fiance I'm with now I would say he is. I haven't gotten the "full throttle" considering we are not married yet and live separate. So my post is more like a be continued,

RomanceRe: Things You Are Tempted To Tell A Partner. by livedit(f): 11:00pm On Jan 06, 2011
I'm sorry Nairaland, you know how livedit is. Back to the subject at hand, I'm like Mrs. Eve, I like to tell my fiance everything. But there are a couple of things he will never know, like my weight. grin Seriously though, not ALL things need to be revealed, but when you have diarreah at the mouth sometimes, everything about yourself you are telling. But I like the fact my fiance is the same way. Well, almost. wink Livedit also has "goodies" and men AND women has complimented me on my "goodies" but I don't always tell my fiance. Because I see how he acts when his friends and his brother would comment about how pretty I am or if they talk to me too long. So I know if I ran and told him "everything" somebody has said to me, he would flip out! Livedit is a flirter, always have and probably always will be. She can't help herself, sometimes. Lol But you do have to be careful the way you interact an present yourself when in the presence of other men. Because livedit has a tongue ring and some men tend to mentally wonder off to "other" things when they accidently see it (which is when I'm laughing and I don't cover my mouth most of the times)

Carolece:
@ MzDarkSkin

Right, and some say I am heartless and claim I didnt love him in the first place. Because we dont stay on the ground and grope in sorrow they believe you have no remorse when the man come begging and you are like "talk to the hands" LOL

I am and shall forever be a strong black woman, no matter what no one is saying. Trust me, I am not a fool to men again. I know them all too much by now. Mistakes I've made in the past I will make them no more.

Men dont give me the chance to love them at all. I dont see too much goodness around me at all. Its very very disappointing and sad.
This is very sad to hear.  sad  I'm a firm believer that their IS someone out there for everybody.  It's nothing wrong with being a "strong black woman" because livedit is one as well. But it comes a time when being "too strong" would cause more harm than good.  Therefore causing maybe some even "potential" good mates to head for the hills.  From your stories you've wrote on these boards, it sounds like you have been seriously hurt by so many people you loved and trusted.  So I can understand why it may feel or seem so hard for you to put yourself back out there.  No one wants to be hurt, mistreated, misused, undervalued, underestimated and taken advantage of.  But I really feel there is someone out there who will be loyal, accept, honor and geninely and wholeheartedly love Carolece for who she is.  But I think Carolece needs to believe that within herself because you do deserve someone who will respect you, love you, have your back, that's faithful, will accept the good and the bad and treat you right.  I really truly feel if you can find someway in your heart to first forgive yourself and then ask God to help you  forgive those who used/mistreated/lied/cheated etc. on you.  If you go to him with a sincere heart he will mend your broken heart and release them from out of your spirit.  Because I believe this is what's holding you back from finding someone who is worthy of your love.  You do deserve the best and nothing but the best.  I sincerely believe you attrack what's truly inside you and this is no way for any one to live. I truly pray and hope everything work's out for you and please don't lose faith.  It's never too late.  Each day you wake up, God has given you another chance.  So sorry, I could be wrong about all this and please forgive me if I am. But from reading your posts to people and especially this one, my heart goes out to you. And it's not out of pity, just out of the love of God that's in me.
Who ever you are - don't waste your time feeling sorry for me - as I am happy, happy, happy.  My relationship is one full of 1) God, 2) Love, 3) Family, 4) Business, 5) Money

I am truly blessed - But I see that you derive pleasure out of expending effort(s) to twist my words - I'm not sure why - but my experience with people such as "yourself a talker vs a life walker" - you appear and project yourself as having very little life of your own that is satisfying and fulfilling.

I don't date unemployed men or one who isn't walking into my video who doesn't either own his own airplane, business, lands and/or one who isn't a responsible leader in his community and isn't financially capable and isn't educated enough to handle me and my lifestyle.  When a man walks into my world - you can believe that I provide the same back to him as much as I possibly can provide.  My man is more educated than I am and is wealthier than I am financially and he has a very serious relationship to God - as do I - I have to have a mate that I can look up to and who has more than I have in [all areas of life] - who can counsel me and provide for me and I in turn provide for him.  EVENLY YOKED.
I also think you are truly blessed to have all your desires met.  Only thing I don't agree on is what the bible meant by "equally yoked" .  "Equally yoked" is spiritual, not carnal.  God is a spirit.  God put people together by their spirits, not by the degrees/education/jobs etc. they have or any other materialistic things you mentioned.  However, you have every right to not want to date someone who has not met and/or exceeded your expectations.  Like you said, you live a certain lifestyle and when you sought after a mate, you want someone who can "keep up".  So if you pray to God, well hey, these are the qualities important to me that I'm looking for, then he will bless you with that person.  But his first course of action will be to match someone who is equally spirited (yoked) to yours and then the rest will be added as an extra "perk".  Because all that you mentioned can be taken away at any given time. Then what? My thing is, what if you are dating this incredible man, God forbid something happens to either him/you and you lose all that, are you going to then call it "quits" and find someone else?  This is why it's important to look to God as your source (lifeline), not man.  Because man can fell you everytime.  I just don't think God is gonna be like, hmmm, I have this janitor praying for a spouse, let me find another janitor to match him/her with or wait, he has a Bachelors and she has a PHD, no, this isn't going to work out.  He don't operate like that.   It also works the same way, you can be praying for God to bless you with a car or a house, then you tell him I would like this house or/and car to have yada yada and that is what he will bring to you.  So I'm not saying what you want is wrong, because that is what you want.
