The same way they stupidly have offices of the first ladies in the federal, the state and the local government levels.
Another ridiculous thing!

I don't know how much the office of the first lady engulfs. However, state first ladies' offices eat at least N2b annually. That's a minimum of N70b annually. And local government first ladies dey too o.
Politics8 Abnormal Things Nigerians Think Is Normal by logicalhumour(op): 12:19pm On Jul 03, 2022
I'll go straight to the point:

1. The heavy presence of military escorting politicians

2. The distance between public office holders (politicians) and the public they represent

3. Indiscriminate "decampings" of politicians from one party to another

4. The outrageous amount of daily unnatural deaths in Nigeria

5. "Literates" who know near to nothing about their country's history nor their rights as citizens

6. The fact that every Nigerian (which includes babies) owe over N190,000 of national debt

7. Tax payers who know nothing about how the national budget is distributed/how much is allocated to their state, LG/ward

8. The apparent immunity of past public office holders to probing.

IMO, these are very abnormal things almost every Nigerian (including the literate) think is normal, or do not even bother to think about.

SMH.

And the same APC people banned Bitcoin and crypto currency.

If your friend get sense, he'll realise his mistakes. One has proved himself to be a patriotic Nigerian who loves his home, while greed has taken over the other.

So you think Obi who went to schools like Harvard Business School, etc., don't know about American stocks?

Christianity EtcCould This Be Why People Can No Longer Speak In Tongues? by logicalhumour(op): 10:06am On Jul 03, 2022
I can remember C.R.K in secondary school. In the early days of Christianity, the apostles/disciples had to travel far and wide, preaching to different people of different languages. And miraculously, they spoke in the tongues of the people in the distant land. Their audience could understand them! Acts 2 4:13
Verse 7 and 8 were like:
Utterly amazed, they asked: "Are not all these men who are speaking Galileans?
Then how is it that each of us hears them in his own native language?

Why doesn't this occur anymore? Could it be because the gospel has been translated to nearly every language on earth?

P.S:
I once attended a crusade. The main pastor wasn't from our tribe, he had to hire an interpreter...but when it was time to pray, he started speaking in tongues (however, the usual gibberish people speak as tongue and not our language) it was at that point that I was like, WTF !

Pffft. Jocker.

Peter is a capitalist, Kwankwaso is a socialist. How can Peter be a vice and achieve what he wants (which is the reason for his massive support)

Kwakwanso knows deep down that he should be a vice to Peter if they want to take power. Can't he think? He is from the North, and Peter is from the South. Can't he see how this will favour him greatly in the next 8 years?
PoliticsRe: Let's End It Today: Production Vs. Infrastructure (poll) by logicalhumour(op): 8:04am On Jul 03, 2022
Sorry to comment first guys, but I felt I should redeclare where I stand.

You see, ever since I remember myself, politicians have been selling themselves to us with stuff like "I will build this infrastructure, I will build that infrastructure, bla bla blah" and yet, nothing ever seems to happen. Putting corruption aside, perhaps we're lagging on Infrastructure because we just can't get Production right!

In a country like Nigeria, can't you see that Production easily gives birth to Infrastructure? which, matter-of-factly, is the only kind of infrastructure we need.

> inb4 "no, infrastructure gives birth to production instead."
No. You may think it's that way in Nigeria, but no. And e get why! Goddammit.

If we'll keep borrowing, why don't we channel the money to production which has the potential to subsequently repay the debt (in short term) and also fund infrastructure —if not directly creating production infrastructures!

Can't you see that we can easily kill plenty stone with one birds here? grin

We just need to prioritise production for a start in this country. We've tried it the other way around for too long.

"Countries are different, and different strategies should be employed. Solutions in country 'A' might only cause problems in country 'B.' " - me

My f*#g opinion again.
PoliticsLet's End It Today: Production Vs. Infrastructure (poll) by logicalhumour(op):
It has become clear that some Nigerians (who support particular parties) are throwing their weight on "Infrastructure over Production" while another party is rooting for "Production over Infrastructure/consumption." ...good thing our political parties seem to be finally buying the idea of having ideologies for Christ's sake! I felt like creating this thread after reading a Nairalander refer to an old video saying Fashola "schools" Obi or something...

Anyways, let's end it today. Yes, this is a poll:

In a bit to sound smart, you referred to refining diesel and producing steel. Let me ask; do you understand what infrastructure mean?
If you did, you would know that there would be no production without infrastructures. To refine diesel, there must be a refinery, also to produce steel, there must be a steel plant. Both Refinery and Steel plant are infrastructures.
Pls, pls & pls, I'm begging all you Obi supporters to stop embarrassing this country...
WTF did I just read? I really hope you realize what you just did.

In a bid to sound smarter than me, you couldn't even read my entire post. Did you read the last two paragraphs of my post? You missed the part where I said Production easily translate to Infrastructure, and how I likened it to something like killing two birds with a single stone.

Don't put it like that! I'm not arguing against infrastructure. I'm simply saying production should be prioritised. And e get why.

Ever since I remember myself, politicians have been selling themselves to us with stuff like "I will build this infrastructure, I will build that..." and yet, nothing ever seems to happen. Putting corruption aside, perhaps we're lagging on infrastructure because we just can't get production right!

Why don't we try something new?

Golan007:
As a farmer, good roads to your farm, construction of silos, bridges, railways, communication etc. would ease and improve your business.

Infrastructure is key.
Are you a farmer? No? Well, that's what I thought. Now, listen to a Benue boy educate you on farming in Nigeria.

- First of all, lemme break it to you that "good roads" aiding transportation is just a secondary school business studies meme. No matter how rugged a road is, our trucks will pass.

- Silos you say. If we encourage producing so much rice —more than we can consume, do you finding a way to store it will be a problem? Only the revenue generated from exporting it can handle the needed storage facilities (and once again, production gives birth to infrastructure)

- Communication
You're kidding, right? Don't get me started.

- Bridges, railways, "infrastructure is key"

Of course, infrastructure is key, however, the question is, should it be prioritised over production?
PoliticsFashola's Attempt To "School" Peter Obi Gone Wrong by logicalhumour(op):
I just watched a short video where Fashola attempted to "school" Peter Obi on Infrastructure vs Production.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9HUruemlAI
(https://www.nairaland.com/7208125/fashola-schools-peter-obi-infrastructure)

I might know nothing to challenge someone like Fashola, but him making a statement such as "building infrastructures is the way to legitimately distribute wealth in an economy."...like seriously? Do Nigerians throw away common sense when it comes to politics?

Like, for example, how many people did the second Niger bridge employ, and where are they today? As opposed to refining diesel, or a steel plant producing steel and constantly employing common Nigerians for decades and decades?

He talked about how infrastructure automatically increases the demand for the materials used in building them. He forgot to mention how short-lived this demand is. Worse of all, we all know that we import the steel and our diesel!

I think watching this video of Fashola today has made me a die hard OBIdient tbfh. Obi is like a million steps ahead of these guys in thinking productively.

I mean, how about you work on producing your steel and diesel before thinking about Infrastructure? He spoke about millions of litres of diesel, tons and tons of steel used for that Niger bridge, etc.
Any smart person who sees the bigger picture will easily see how 'building infrastructure' in our current setting easily translates to consumption (since we'll be importing the lot of skills and materials!)

At this point, isn't it obvious that production can easily translate to building infrastructure if prioritised in a country like Nigeria?

Prioritising production is like killing a thousand birds with one stone.

My f#*g opinion though.

RomanceYou're Either Dating A River-person Or A Rain-person: Here's The Difference by logicalhumour(op): 5:19pm On Jun 26, 2022
Humans are great companions, don't you think so too? When you get to know them, most people become truly lovely. However, I've noticed that there are basically two kinds of people that could come into your life:

1. What i want to call the "River-like people"
2. The Rain-like people

1. The River-like...
The River-like people are like... well, like Rivers. They'll pass through you, however, they're not necessarily stopping with you. They're mostly headed somewhere else.

If you find yourself with a river-like person, the best you can do to "keep" that person is to be accommodating. And guess what? They'll form a lake around you.

With such persons, you being possessive at first would seem like a smart move: it will seem like it's working. However, like they say, "A river knows its way." THEY'LL DROWN YOU and leave in the end IF you try to forcefully hold unto them. Just be accommodating, and let them fill the space you create. Let them form a lake around you!

2. The Rain-like...
Well, you see, these people I call the rain people are opposites of the River People. When these ones fall into your life, you'll see that they've come to stay. They'll fill up as many containers that you have, and stay. They're going no where unless you kick them out.

Spotting river-like vs a rain-like persons

The rain-like people are more often (but not always) the older ones already wanting to settle down. However, you need to be careful with these ones. They mostly can see through you. You can't pretend around them: to keep them, you don't need to do too much. Just be natural. AND IF YOU DON'T WANT THEM, LEAVE EARLY, don't deceive yourself. Rain-like people can easily get you tangled with themselves.

And as for the river-like people, while they tend to be the younger ones, this isn't always the case. But generally, these are the young people not ready to settle down. The key to capturing these set of people for a life-long relationship is not to "possess" them, remember? Try it and they'll chock you, and leave.
Just be patient and accommodating, and who knows? The lake they'll form around you might be the biggest of all lakes they've formed from their origins, or perhaps the only one they've formed/will ever need to form.

So, tell us. Are you currently dating a river-like person or a rain-like person? And how has it been so far?

I don't know the channel, but dude, that's a 100% redpill stuff they said there.

The ultimate redpill is understanding that the knowledge of the redpill will "ruin" your dating life (and marriage maybe) when measured in societal standards.

Redpill will ruin your dating life! A core redpiller finds if very difficult to differentiate between having an active dating life and simping.

Look, the societal standard for dating is taking your girl out, paying the bills, having time for her, and perhaps, buying her stuff, simping for her, etc. Now, a redpiller will find it difficult doing these stuff, don't you think? And what do you think happens to his "dating life"? It gets "ruined."

Read between the lines bro. The channel said "...will ruin your DATING life." NOT "...will ruin you."

You acted too fast. Lol.

Advice: don't swallow red pills along side rage/anger, else you'll fail to see the bigger picture.

RomanceRe: Time by logicalhumour: 7:35pm On Jun 15, 2022
Haha. Thinking about time usually messes with my head.

I was once alone in a room with a loud analogue wall clock. I kept hearing the tick tock sound until it occurred to me that that was our concept of time 'self-destructing' itself!

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock...each tick and tock moment passing by, never seen again.

About time being an illusion, of course, it depends. Our lives, for example, are full of events—physical events. These events have a beginning and an end, so it makes sense to attach a quantity to the duration it eats. We call it time (this is not an illusion)

However, when you think about time in a wider scope, as in how it relates to our universe, you'll encounter problems. We measure time in seconds. These seconds theoretically have no end, hence we cannot pin a beginning to it. Not even the big bang! No, since for something to have occurred in time, time must have existed before that event.

Hence, with no beginning nor an end, you CANNOT actually point to a middle or any point for that matter. This excessive flexibility can lead to any being with a better understanding of time to manipulate it, making it a classic illusion.

I'm still trying to get this better understanding of time. Two things however block my way. Two more fundamental quantities apart from time: Length and Mass.

I might drop my findings. Maybe.
