SUKKIE:Na wa o. Why is it so hard for these guys to just get a clean decent win for once? For eff's sakes!! |
They should hurry up with the prequel or Season II or what ever; the build-up of interest from the first 13 episodes should not be allowed to wane before we get to see the next instalment of blood, sand and ehmm---the usual eye candy (***cough cough***) |
Medlabgirl:Heheheh. I think I like you . I was just about to say that 80% of folks found the thread a bit of a joke, some (like me) took a scholastic view on the matter. I saw no racist angle to the OP not posting a "white face" along with a matching monkey face . Lol. ~Some pple are just poisonous posters going from thread to thread looking for who to criticise and attack . |
Na wa. All these tributes are beginning to turn everything into a joke. Some things need to be taken seriously y'know. |
dumodust:No probs, I get really annoyed when people just come here and use this online medium to raise false hopes. I'm a writer, I'd love to get published too, but I don't appreciate cheap "calls for submission". The Literature/Writing forum is a distinguished part of NL and people shouldn't use it to spam/deceive writers. |
Tattooboy:The song is "Do Without My Love" by Nathan. Nice song, love it too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4fP2k5ag6M |
Professor Green ft Ed Drewett - I Need You Tonight |
What in the world?? What's this doing in the Jokes section?? Is someone trying to be funny? Because the topic certainly isn't. Well that's NL for you. Typical! |
madlady:Lol. Humans and monkeys, human and dogs. What the hell next?? |
You can't just come here wanting people to take you serious, with only an email to show that you exist. Folks just treat writers like they are desperados who will just send their material to anyone who asks, just to get published. I think it's only fair to ask for more proof that you are genuine. Why not wait for your "website" to be up and going before you solicit for manuscripts? |
![]() Funny vid. LOL @ the Igbo guy(yes, he is Igbo, a blind man could tell ) saying, why are you running up and down, why are you running up and down?? ROTFLMBO!!!! Because the guy in the blue shirt is a tricky sonofagun . Typical Yoruba style of fighting - lots of weaving around but quick to watch out for a chance to throw a punch in. And oh, they usually do damage to at least one item of your clothing - while escaping unscathed . |
Azanor:Exactly! Even the Blackberry company have realised where the real market is, and are now targeting youths and young people in their ads, with pages on facebook etc all in a bid to attract the new group of BB fans - kids and tweens and even us adults . The real people for which the BB was probably created - the business people, the serious folks have taken second place to the "I-must-belong" members of the BB "Craze". LOL. |
I will read the 8+ pages tomorrow to catch up, but I must say I saw the report on TV a couple of days ago. When I heard them mention they will be showing a documentary titled "This Is Lagos", I just knew it will be rubbish. And it was. Very myopic, lazy and bigoted report, I was so ashamed and disgusted that I changed the channel several times. I finally just couldn't finish it. I stayed in Lagos for most of my life, and that was NOT Lagos. A part of it, yes, but that is not what Lagos is about. The reporters should be ashamed. Is this what BBC calls journalism? Now there is something in the papers about "Environmental Racism" in Nigeria (Niger Delta). They are really on our case this period. |
By now you should know that it all goes beyond what the BB has to offer as per features, in comparison to other smartphones. The Blackberry has become a status symbol, period, and though they have continued to make innovations and improvements to the product, it is nothing more than a "popular" phone and has become a fad that will not fade any time soon, by my calculations. BB is here to stay. |
Joe Mosco:Lol, na wa o. Please enlighten us, which profession does not fit into a local area? If a doctor can perform in a locality, then what else?? No matter your "profession", it should make an impact anywhere. |
By the way, what has racism got to do with your "theory"? For every region you put men and monkeys side by side, you made no insinuations as to which was good or bad, wrong or right. So where is the racism? Because they see no pure white face, people feel slighted. Every issue is racist these days on Nairaland. |
morpheus24:My apologies. If you did discover this through your own studies, then kudos. You should publish a paper/essay on this, some of your academic peers/seniors might find it interesting . |
Krayola:Yeah, I listened to the track, you got it right. The guy knew a lot about American rap, he was not an omo-ita after all .I love the lyrics; he was a gifted rhymer for his genre. "I go many shows I get many doughs Get many hoes, but them dey before" (funny )God na my creator Fela na my mentor Money no dey drive me, money na my conductor I no be good boy, but I get loyalty I no won hear story when marketer go pay me royalty (nice one ).Ashewo dey everywhere Even gay dey fear Say ashewo collect all the boys for this year I know say I be sinner, God, I dey sin Everyday igbo, shayo, all night na dry gin And I no start like this for church, I start with drum set And I won open my ear, wey God go blow the trumpet Cos I know heaven dey God, evil dey If you want chop cake, then you go know say oven dey (wow, such a philosopher )Gosh, what a pity, what a loss. RIP Da Grin! |
Nice one, but @ morpheus24 do you actually want us to believe you came up with this yourself ?? Anyways, I may not be a scientist but the resemblance has nothing to do with evolution. It may arise due to climate, environment etc and so living entities that dwell within the same region may tend to share some like features. But I'm sure these are mere speculations that can never be scientifically proven . |
This BB craze is really getting out of hand tho'. Saw a young girl, no more than thirteen, in possession of one on her way from school. When you consider that even parents think it's okay for their little kids to own a BB, then you wonder that maybe it goes beyond the uses for which the BB was actually intended. Judging by the popularity of the BBM these days, the BB is becoming more of a social tool than an actual "smartphone". Anyway, I'm gearing up to start up with a BB 8520 myself. Just for a start . |
Just listened to the song. Why would a talented, vibrant and young man sing about death in such a depressing way? The lyrics were deep though. He was wise beyond his years. Well let him rest, as he asked us to do in the track. |
What a noble effort. This was the very essence of creating the National Youth Service Corps, so that young graduates could actually contribute to their environment, using the skills they have acquired. The fact that he also has a "religious" motivation (wanting to spread the Gospel as well ) makes me extra proud to think that there are still some good-hearted people in Nigeria. |

shilling:Yes oo. They look quite fresh-faced and innocent in that pic. I think I will save it for future reference. . |
big head:Wow. If you feel so bad, then imagine how his immediate family are feeling. This fame thing can be negative even though it has its positive side. Looking back now, do you think they would have chosen fame for him, if they knew it would somehow have something to do with him losing his life? I dunno. The poor man on the street dies, the unknown ones die, so I guess even the famous are not spared. |
big head:Hey, take it easy. We feel you, ok. He was too young, too talented, and too loved to just go like that. But he achieved something during his brief life, let's thank God for that. |
SmashingM:Ooooh - kay. By the way, I was just being funny. . You can usually tell from the emoticons :-. |
