@OP, let me be brutally-frank in stating the following (you are at liberty to reject these submission tho) YOU ARE MAKING SOME DEFAULT MISTAKES OF SMART NEW RECRUITS. 1. With this mindset? You'RE few clicks away from getting into trouble. More like your boss is baiting you and you're falling for it. He's most likely seeing through you....the frustration, the impatience, the anger and other stuffs 2. I am more worried for you that are you concerned about "your work" and stuffs like that at this stage of your career? In fact, what you are currently being measure on is your ability to be a potential leader..i.e. a team player, a good steward and a good servant (not a loner)..and a cardinal aspect of that includes your ability to serve. If you are at this stage worried and complaining about your manager "taking credit for your work", the signal you're sending is that if you're a GM, you will soon be complaining that the GMD is "taking credit for your work" to the Board? 3. Someone advised you (albeit less-wisdom) to copy a superior officer in your correspondences...... Even the superior officer will frown at such "un-tempered ambition". You need to get into the mind of your superiors a bit. The moment your boss's boss condone such acts (allowing you to correspond to him directly and not through your manager) = your manager is at liberty to do same to him. 4. YOU NEED TO RESPECT YOUR MANAGER. Have you ever considered why this guy was employed as the manager and you as a subordinate? Because his profile, experience and total package is better than yours. At the moment he offers better value to the organisation. 5. Why are you so overtly ambitious to see the GMD? Why can you not simply relax and let your work speak for you? Have you bothered to check if you have overtly demonstrated this ambition of yours and your manager has seen it hence his decision to suppress you? You seem to have given out all your aces and he knows your "moves"; explains why he doesn't want you to attend meetings in his absence or see the GMD on-on-one. 6. On the issue of the new accounting software, I tell you (as someone who led information systems in the corporate world for over 7yrs), your knowledge of how to use the accounting software above your manager hardly counts for much in the grand scheme of things. You are rated on this, you manager is rated on the delivery and accuracy of the end product - The Financials. The management will not scold him for not knowing how to use the software.....they will rather scold him for not using you guys to use the software to effect. Pls get some things right 1. The journey to the top is arduous, challenging and tasking. It requires physical and mental fitness, and you have to fit for the marathon. You will be muscled, bruised, out-witted, taken advantage on (you may/will also do same..). For each you need to learn how to navigate your way through these hurdles. It requires patients, smarts and wisdom. 2. Don't make a move ahead of the time for the move. Be like a cat (Lion, Tiger, Jaguar etc) that waits patiently for the right moment before it pounces. If you "jump" before time, you miss the prize....and people who are less capable than you will be rewarded 3. Make your manager feel comfortable (even if you hate his guts). Let him feel you're not a threat. Even if you want to scheme for his position..... take him off your scent. Your time to seize the moment will surely come. For example, I always refer to the root of my biggest career break as that one time I taught my former HR manager some aspects in excel (something simple, trivial and of no consequences), she was so impressed with my conduct that she never forgot me. From there she recommended the company "disconnected" outsourcing that aspect of training and made it internal. I was asked to train a whole exploration department.....from there I was invited to join a meeting/project team mid-way to "volunteer my opinion" on an aspect.....from there I was asked to permanently join the project team......from there the project team was sent to the UK for a 2 weeks training/workshop/strategy session......at the workshop I distinguished myself.........back in the country I was one of the people given public acknowledgement by the MD.......from their the ED invited me for an informal interview for a new position........on and on. Prior to this I was like you. I was "burned" for about 3 frustrating years, before I let wisdom work and not my frustration. 4. This may or may not work, I suggest you change your strategy - make it a priority to continue to do a damn good job, then let it look like you don't care beyond that point. Push your good ideas to your boss. Let him get "uncomfortable-until-he-hears-from-you". Increase the output of your department through him. Let the bigger and better results continue to churn out......if he fails to recognize you and others in the team, then one day he'll do himself in. Even if you don't get rewarded on this job, if you keep at this pace, you'll have simply prepared yourself for a bigger and better position on your next job. Regards |
omocalabar:Me too, almost there......remainin 9yrs 11months 29days ![]() |
dfrost:I think with golf in West Africa, it has to do with more exposure to modern training methods, golf academies springing up (David Mark has one in Otukpo, some in South Africa, Ghana, Cote D'ivore etc) and these Pros are getting improved sponsorship of sort. There are improvements in sponsorship of competition in West Africa..... Most importantly the "Tiger Woods" effect... |
iamjavadem:Do you just willfully purpose in your mind to say senseless stuffs? |
dfrost:I'm also impressed. Gone are the days you will hear results like winner wining with 4 over |
SyberKate:Do I think you were unreasonable? I believe the guy should thank his stars...... |

engineerboat:You submissions are unintelligent in the first place..... That you can't figure out your gaffe..... Unfortunate |
engineerboat:Let you know how much their rates are? Are you that daft? You mean you did not bother to find out how much their rates are before you conjured ridiculous and fictitious figures.... or you are working so hard for the Atiku media team to notice you and throw you some coins..... Even doing that you are not intelligent enough |
engineerboat:You are not intelligent kobo. A typical newspaper have their rates published... How did you arrive at this mysterious figures... From your ass? |
abescom:His pain has not just only started.... It has been dancing shaku-shaku for eons.IamaNigerianGuy: :Maybe because you are more interested in buhari going than anything else. I was even thinking he is incapable of understanding and that it actually takes some level of investment in ignorance and hatred to attain his level |
Ok, I see a lot of ignoramuses on this lane..... When she says she's the best man for the job, the tenses are CORRECT. To put it simply "Man" in this context refers to person regardless of the sex. Ps: PMB/PYO has my votes tho. |
decuteGenius:Olodo!..... Did you read the piece at all or your comprehension developed wings and flew away? |
Joshrob:So you can see that in this small instance... You are not even willing to accommodate |
Samunique:... also let me add that we Christians should also accommodate and join Muslims who may want to sing/pray as well |
tolexy007:I said the game has long been played.......Mynd44: :this is not issue of Jimi, this people are funded by Lagos state, if Jimi invite dem 90% of them will not come, cos dey know what Tinubu and Lagos state in giving dem Think of MC Oluomo, Think of Baba Eto, think of Yoruba-wood....dimension this more |
karllemah44:Shows your level of ignorance..... |
Mynd44:The "game" had long been played ....... |
thunder74:You ask a stu.pid and useless question to me...... 1. Folajimi got to politics on the platform of his father 2. Folajimi is not a newbie, he had contested and won election in the past based on the fact that he planted in the grassroot politics of his area 3. That you are asking this question show your ignorance of him, his locality he represents and the politics of that locality 4. The question "could it be that he's ashamed to associate with him"? is a puerile and lopsided thinking. Why? because Lai Mohammed represent a government you are in disagreement with? I think people should set boundaries between hate-filled thoughts and rational thinking |
Uti. O fe lari mo? Eran awon agab....O fe soda....... |
12345baba:This your rationale.......my jaw just dropped |
Fabulous7:What then should we celebrate? The Dasuki's $2.1b largess? |
LordofNaija:Your dumbness is with "skill". A train that for the past two weeks people have been enjoying free train ride........ Not surprising, when GEJ commissioned the 2nd Niger bridge on paper, you believed |
12345baba:So we should not build rails because you think we cannot maintain? |
ChiefAlex:Terribly and embarrassingly lowIamicekid: If with this you don’t understand, in law bro u don’t diversify word, putting myself in his shoes with this there statement you First told you don’t do events and later told you I have to meet some of your security measures, right so if it’s not politics related which security measures do you want to give a personnel like Davido which he can’t offer or live up to... He no dey make money from something he dey spend, come think of it in a thing he wants to make money from how much will it take him to provide 1000 security personnel, or more if they still request more...Your IQ is low |
Afamed:Too late.... His sense of reasoning is already defectiveBibby25: I doubt if Eko Atlantic is been sincere concerning this issue...I personally feels its politically motivated. My opinion tho..You just feel without any reasonable input or excuse? Don't allow your emotions to tamper with your sense of reasoning . |
This is the most useless piece of unintelligent reporting ever seen. I junked the rubbish after reading few lines of the stu.pid concuction. You mean the CFO of NNPC award contracts? bunch of idi.oits full ground here.....not that I did not know tho. |
