TV/Movies › Why Is Goldie Of Bigbrother Like This? by Mayflowa(op): 11:44am On Jun 06, 2012
I am so unimpressed with this girl attitude. She is 28 and behaves like she is 16. Prezzo is not a better artiste than her. I feel so ashame watching her. She just ridicule all of us.

Agreed she is in love, but for pete's sake, this is national TV and you were there for a game. How long has she been looking for boyfriend in Naija? Is it that Naija has abandon all there girls? Her family must be very ashamed of her. To think she even stated that she was Prezzo's last resort and still fall head over heel for him is so puking. How interesting and prideful it would have been if she had dumped Prezzo after Zainab exited!

That is when she could have even secured the relationship. She is just not it. A Nigerian village housewife won't take that bullshit. Maybe it is just me because I have left naija for long.

Please tell, are Nigerians ladies like Goldie now?

freecocoa: OP before i proceed I'd like to say, never conclude you know anyone too well, don't ever say"he\she can never do that" big mistake i tell ya. I'm talking from experience, sometimes i hear people say"cocoa cannot do that,i know her well" in my mind i just laugh and say"ogbeni don't be so sure cos i can do worse" cheesy

@Topic,if your friend is sure he did nothing then he has nada to worry about,if he is a nice man who hasn't given his family(wife especially) reasons to doubt and suspect him,i trust they'll stand by him till it can be proven that the child isn't his.

On the other hand,he can go meet the girl's family and have them bring the girl to narrate whatever she claims happened, she could be scared and just called out his name as the one responsible maybe because he's a well respected man, thinking it would buy her time to arrange herself(some girls do that),if the girl is not a hardened criminal,i think she'd break in his presence and probably tell the truth that's only if......

Then again she may not even know who's responsible sef and just wants her people to quit asking her who the father is.

Finally let that your friend search himself and heart o,hmm cos some men gan sef are pathological liars, either ways if he is or not responsible,it will be known in a matter of 9 months or for however long she carries the pregnancy.
You make sense Cocoa. This is how to contribute to discourse. Why ain't you taking to your sis 'Idowuogbon'. NL seems to be getting to her. Her rascality is growing worse and becoming annoying. Please tell her to calm down and exercise caution. She should be a lady that she is. I hope she doesn't behave same way out in the real world there? Maybe she is just trying to be funny. I hate to talk peeps down but I just have to do it because I used to really like her here!

Excuse me! What is real man? That word was brought up to restrain men fray emotions. Women wanna use their natural weapon( demeaning thru nag and insults) to the last and don't want men to use any of their weapon(strength).

African men are so good. They still behave in the face of abuse from women. Americas hardly show restrain even with the stringent of laws in their country against women battering. You can now imagine what american men wud have done o american women if there wasn't punitive measures as it is now!

Its Law that stop men. Not the real man matra!

You know American dies hard for Benz. She has really done the unimaginable in her world! Again, westerners are very concerned about age difference in relationships! A girl of 22 once told me I was too old for her at 27 years ago in UK. She said she needs 21-23.

Romance › Re: Do Nigerian Ladies Abroad Find It More Difficult To Find Husbands? by Mayflowa(m): 11:30am On May 28, 2012
Miss EZ: As a lady living a broad, i will have to echo your friends sentiment and agree that it is more difficult to find a Nigerian man to marry here. You have to be confident in yourself and trust that when the time comes things will fall in place to be able to stay here especially in regards to relationships. If she is open to marrying from another ethnic group/foreigners, that shouldnt be too much of a problem as against marrying your own. I think that if marriage is a priority for her, there is no reason for her to feel bad about putting that first, and atleast she is being honest about wanting to settle down rather than denying it.

For me i think that it is essential that women empower themselves career wise and all, but at the end of the day, having a family is also important and not every woman who desires one is unwise. It is part of our culture and even religion. In negotiating our way through life, it is important to find balance and so it makes me sad when people make it look like wanting to get married is a crime. Another problem i have is when people make it look like wanting to marry a Nigerian is a bad preference. I live abroad and i find that regardless of the kind of people i meet, there is no place like home, and when Naija men never finish, wetin i de find? But it is my preference. We should learn to respect people's preference because there is a reason behind it.

I wish your friend luck in making a decision.
The biggest problem from marrying from another ethnic origin is the cultural difference. You have to be very tolerant and patient less the relationship will crash as it comes.
Romance › Re: Do Nigerian Ladies Abroad Find It More Difficult To Find Husbands? by Mayflowa(m): 10:33am On May 28, 2012
The easiest way for your friend to get married is to arrange to get whoever she is dating now abroad. A gold-digger boyfriend my get stuck on that! lol
Come to think of it, if she couldnt grab a husband at 28, what make her think she would grab anyone soon while in naija?

I usually disagree when guys and gals try to make marriages unimportant and unnecessary. I have lived in many countries abroad, white ladies are also particular about marrying especially when they find love. Just that some just run away from realities. One white chic is currently on my friend's neck for marriage. Who doesn't like companionship. I even found myself needing a companion now. once u get to that age, the urge comes naturally.

White peeps are always having companion from teenager. They kiss openly, caress in train and live together with their partners. When black does that, they are labelled spoilt. Please leave black girls to get married joor.

Lastly, the chance of finding husband at her age abroad is slim. how many ready guys are there? They wud rather go for small girls. They won't even come close to her for relationship. Let her find her man in naija.
Celebrities › Re: Photos From Osaze Odemwingie's Wedding by Mayflowa(m): 12:12am On May 28, 2012
I really do not find it odd for Osazee to marry a white girl. Don't forget the mum is white and he is kind of use to the whiteman's attitude, gestures, sense of humour, simplicity and realness. So, he could be very easy for him to click with Sarah.

When you are used to white girls, it is kinda difficult to click it with black. They see things and behave differently!
Celebrities › Re: Photos From Osaze Odemwingie's Wedding by Mayflowa(m): 3:23pm On May 27, 2012
Miss EZ: They look like a good couple, wishing them the best. A successful marriage is not determined by race but by the individuals, just a thought

I think the words racism and apartheid are being used carelessly these days. Just because some people question his choice of marrying a foreigner does not make them racist, it merely suggests a preference. When people begin to insult the lady based on her race and demean her, that is racism. I am all about Naija men o, but if someone wants to marry from another country, its their life and their marriage. Wish them well and move on
For the first time, someone spoke my mind! You have got a good head miss!

Investment › Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg Sued By Shareholders Over IPO by Mayflowa(op): 1:46pm On May 24, 2012
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has been sued by the social media network's shareholders over its disastrous IPO.
The lawsuit accuses Mr Zuckerberg, Facebook and several banks led by Morgan (KOSDAQ: 019990.KQ - news) Stanley (Berlin: SYC.BE - news) of hiding the company's weakened growth forecasts ahead of its $16bn initial public offering.
The defendants are claimed to have concealed from investors during the IPO marketing process "a severe and pronounced reduction" in Facebook revenue growth forecasts.
The news comes as Morgan Stanley (EUREX: DWDF.EX - news) , the bank in charge of the IPO, is being investigated over possible securites fraud.
The US bank has been accused of failing to warn smaller investors of a more negative assessment of Facebook's future profits.
It is claimed that several major investors had been pre-warned that a Morgan Stanley analyst had cut the amount of money he expected Facebook to make.
The advance notice allowed the investors to either avoid the stock completely or sell immediately after they floated at $38.
Facebook shares opened up 1.35pc at $31.42 on Wednesday. Within five minutes they were up 3.6pc. Prior to Wednesday they had fallen every day since the flotation last Friday, closing at $31 on Tuesday.
"The allegations, if true, are a matter of regulatory concern," said Rick Ketchum, the head of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Mary Schapiro, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, said: “There is a lot of reason to have confidence in our markets and the integrity of how they operate, but there are issues we need to look at specifically with regard to Facebook.”
It was reported that Morgan Stanley analyst Scott Devitt cut his estimate for Facebook’s revenue this year to $4.85bn (£3.1bn) from a previous figure of more than $5bn, adding that the business faced multiple problems.
He claimed that growth in revenues could be hit by the increase in the use of mobile devices to look at Facebook, a medium the company’s advertising system has so far failed to crack.
William Gavin, the securities regulator for Massachusetts, issued the bank with subpoenas.
It comes amid accusations Morgan Stanley valued Facebook too aggressively.
"If the goal of the underwriters was not to leave a penny on the table, then it was a success," said Brian Wieser, an analyst at Pivotal Reserch Group. "But if it was to ensure that the shares had a favourable market to trade in, then it wasn't."
"What they [the underwriters] succeeded in doing was milking market sentiment," said Andrew Caldwell, a valuations partner at BDO. "You've got a problem that if you price it high, you've got nowhere else to go."
As the shares started to fall after the float last Friday, Morgan Stanley was forced buy up stock to support the company's value above the $38 listing price. The shares hit the float price a number of times during the day's trade, but didn't fall through it.

Very sorry about this. For sure, you must feel this pain! I work in a university. I always go against this kind of grade for students during departmental board meetings for results consideration. I cannot tell you how many students fall into this borderline and how many I have helped! You were just 0.01 point away from 2.1

Any reasonable lecturer will draw attention to your case and talk in your favour. But that is passed now. You can still be all you want if you are bold and intelligent. There are still many jobs(maybe not well paying) that still demands 2.2. Once you have experience on your side, the sky becomes ur matching ground!
If you dropped your email, I will send you list of recruitment agent websites with jobs of 2.2.

@DYT, you have such a beautiful heart. Don't apologize for any of ur statement. You know what? The OP twisted the story all to her credit and she is indirectly responsible for her husband woes. This man doesn't see her all day and she keeps a lady at home to take care of him? What did she expect? poor thouht-process!

What is this job they are looking for? Why would anyone look for job for that long. She ought to have suported her husband to open a shop. A liitle patent pharmacy shop pay more salary than bank jobs. No, she keeps stressing her husband out to write test and interview. bullshit!

Can't the OP sincerely confirm this her former hard-working banker of a husband never did little jobs in those 8yrs to support the household? Stop comparing ur husbands with the ones u now see at ur workplace.

I can't agree more with your post. I am a lecturer in one of Nigeria's universities. Even when I knew these in my undergraduate days, I didn't do them because of laziness and I came out with 2.1 sadly!

In my opinion, Mode 9 is not a nice person. He has fragile emotion and I am sorry for his wife! The event that culminated into this loggerheads wasn't neccessary at all. Muna initially was just playing by saying: "I do not agree with you". That is a very simple statement to call her head for? Mode 9 just turned it into fiasco. That was ungentlemanly especially to take back the Microphone and wanna say more. For a swaggin man, that is an opportunity to even lay the babe! she might just be looking for an opportunity to engage Mode 9. Mode 9 dey crase.... Anyway, I respect him in the rap game.

But what was so annoying was Muna retorts of 'pass the mic' That was very uncivil. She could have laugh over the brawl instead of heating up remarks. These guys are not cultured mehnn....

How could they not manage their personality in public. Moreso, were they not paid for these jobs? Nokia could sue their ass by these acts and make them living examples. They are degrading a successful marketing brand by their ego. mtsheeeeewwwwwwww!
