It doesn't tell me anything as it's not grammatical.

You can have either "since" or "from" but not both in the same sentence.

You've also got to remember that "slain" is a past verb whereas "corruption" in your sentence is a noun so you can't make a comparison with your own sentence and the Bible passage as they are incompatible.

Grammatically, the only way the Bible passage can make sense is in the way I've defined it in my first post - Christ was destined to die from the beginning.

Incidentally, my own personal opinion is that Revelation is a crock of shit. A view shared by a large number of the clergy who never wanted it included in the Bible in the first place - the time it is "prophesising" passed long ago with the Roman Empire and it is now utterly irrelevant. I see it as no more than the carrot and the stick book that gets all of the idiot fundamentalists frothing at the mouth.
it wasn't "prophesising" anything. . . the book is just the rants of a disturbed man. . . with ideas, imaginations and fantasies that fit only a disturbed and deluded individual. . .

@ Huxley.

The passage doesn't say what you think it does.

Read it again.

It says "slain from the creation of the World". Not "slain at the creation of the world".

Put another way it could read "slain as a result of the creation of the World". It has nothing to do with a specific time period. It's saying that once the World was created, the Lamb was destined to die.
if i say that corruption has been endemic in nigeria since from independence, what does that tell you?. . . .

The bible has forever stated its case. God made the heavens, earth and all that is in it.
its up to u not to believe or take that as a fact, but ur disbelief which is a function of ignorance cannot change, dispute or repudiate biblical truths.

what has that go to do with the fact that christians disobey the teachings of the bible when they get sick? there is no where in the bible where it is written that people should go to the hospital when they are sick. . .the divine directive from the biblegod is for people to go to the church elders to pray for them and anoint them with oil, not hospitals. . . i just want to know why christains do not practice what is written in the bible. . .even the miracle "healer" pat robhinson of the 700 club did not do that he went to the hospital for surgery when he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. . . he clearly disobeyed the word of the biblegod. . . and refused to practice what he has been preaching for over 40 years. . .

sure every body has some stories of "miracle" healing to talk about, moslems have stories of how allah "healed" them, hindus also have stories of how "vishnu" healed them. . . every body has stories and "testimonies". if prayers and miracles were real you will not bother to go to the london hospital that you went to in the first place, you will go straight to your church elders to pray for you as the bible advised all christains to do. . . .the fact that you went to the hospital instead of going to the church elders to pray for you and anoint you with oil shows that you do not even believe with the bible tells you to do when ever you get sick. . .the bible did not say that you should go to the hospital it says go to the church elders to pray for you and anoint you with oil when ever you are sick and you will be healed no hospitals, next time you fall sick don't even bother to go to the hospital go straight to the church elders. . .that is what your bible says. . .no hospitals. . .

James 5:14-18 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. (KJV)
i know quite a number of christains that have done this but it did not work 2 of them ended up dead and the other 2 abandoned what the bible said and ended up receiving treatment in the hospital back in nigeria. . ,  Why do christians still go to hospital and take man made drugs when the bible clearly says that all they need to do is to call unto the church elders and let the church elders pray from them and anoint them with oil? why is it that so many christians have tried this and they ended up dead? christains on nairaland when you fall sick do you do what the word of your god says you should do(go to the church elders to pray for you and anoint you with oil) or do you go to the hospital and take man made drugs some which were even prepared by atheist, muslims, hindus etc. . .?  most of of the christians i know will run to moslem or athesit doctors for treatment instead of doing what is written for them in the bible. . .

@ noetic i noticed that you are full of shouting and saying that allah is a blood thirsty murderer. OK let me show you some few verses in your bible(there are SO many of them) that describes how blood thirsty and murderous your own god is. . .

And he smote of the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of Jehovah, he smote of the people seventy men, `and' fifty thousand men; and the people mourned, because Jehovah had smitten the people with a great slaughter.  And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before Jehovah, this holy God? and to whom shall he go up from us?   (1Samuel 6:19-20)
if your own brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him.  Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you.  You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.  And all Israel, hearing of this, shall fear and never do such evil as this in your midst.  (Deuteronomy 13:7-12)
Suppose a man or woman among you, in one of your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, has done evil in the sight of the LORD your God and has violated the covenant by serving other gods or by worshiping the sun, the moon, or any of the forces of heaven, which I have strictly forbidden.  When you hear about it, investigate the matter thoroughly. If it is true that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, then that man or woman must be taken to the gates of the town and stoned to death.  (Deuteronomy 17:2-5 )
I will make Mount Seir utterly desolate, killing off all who try to escape and any who return.  I will fill your mountains with the dead. Your hills, your valleys, and your streams will be filled with people slaughtered by the sword.  I will make you desolate forever. Your cities will never be rebuilt. Then you will know that I am the LORD.  (Ezekiel 35:7-9 )
this one is very funny grin grin grin. . . .

(Moses) stood at the entrance to the camp and shouted, "All of you who are on the LORD's side, come over here and join me." And all the Levites came.  He told them, "This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Strap on your swords! Go back and forth from one end of the camp to the other, killing even your brothers, friends, and neighbors."  The Levites obeyed Moses, and about three thousand people died that day.  Then Moses told the Levites, "Today you have been ordained for the service of the LORD, for you obeyed him even though it meant killing your own sons and brothers. Because of this, he will now give you a great blessing."  (Exodus 32:26-29)
"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22)
grin grin

"Then I heard the LORD say to the other men, "Follow him through the city and kill everyone whose forehead is not marked. Show no mercy; have no pity! Kill them all – old and young, girls and women and little children. But do not touch anyone with the mark. Begin your task right here at the Temple." So they began by killing the seventy leaders. "Defile the Temple!" the LORD commanded. "Fill its courtyards with the bodies of those you kill! Go!" So they went throughout the city and did as they were told." (Ezekiel 9:5-7)
this one is also very funny. . .

these are just a few. . .the entire old testament is filled with all these nonsense. . . do you still want to talk about how allah is a blood thirsty god?

Stupid. You cant celebrate a "version" of the passover. Pls go back and read Exodus 12 completely . . . the passover was a strict commandment DOWN TO THE VERY LAST DETAIL.

It included the days (14-21), the specific month (Nissan), the time the lamb shld be slaughtered (evening), when it could be eaten (night) . . . and that NOTHING (not even the bread or lamb) shld be left over till the morning.

there was no room for folks to invent their own versions of the passover.

I can deny your allegation because it is baseless, has no backing in facts and is made by one only desperate to perpetuate the falsehood of contradictions in the bible.

bawomolo pls stop arguing with this deluded goon. . . .mark said that jesus was crucified on the passover day while john says that he was crucified on the eve of passover. . . if you read john 18:2-13, it says that when judas and the soldiers came to arrest jesus, jesus was the one that identified himself unto the soldiers and told them that he is jesus while judas looked on without saying a word, they then arrested jesus and took him away but if you read mark 14:43-46 it clearly says that when judas and the soldiers came judas had already giving them a signal, saying, whomever he kisses, is the one they should arrest, he then went ahead and kissed jesus and they took him away. their accounts are completely different. . . if you read how peter denied jesus in the book of luke and the book of mark you will also see that their accounts are also very, very different. If you read Luke 24:32-37 It very clearly says that Jesus first appeared to the 11 in a room in Jerusalem, but if you read Matthew 28:15-17 It very clearly says that It was on a mountain in Galilee. read the post resurrection accounts of jesus and tell me if you can form a coherent narrative out of it. . .

Here are the VERY  DIFFERENT accounts of event that happened when the women went to the tomb of jesus. . . .these accounts completely cancel each other out. . . .

According to Mark 16:1-8, Mary and Mary find that the tomb has been opened

When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus' body. Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb and they asked each other, "Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?" But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. "Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.' " Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
– Mark 16:1-8
According to Matthew, an angel in shining garments is seen by Mary and Mary opening the tomb, and the angel tells them not to be afraid since Jesus is risen from the dead.

After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."

– Matthew 28:1-10
According to Luke, the women discover the tomb has been opened, and two men in shining garments come up to them and tell them not to be afraid since Jesus is risen.

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.' " Then they remembered his words.

– Luke 24:1-8
Here is john's very very different account of events. . . .

Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!" So Peter and the other disciple started for the tomb. Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. Then Simon Peter, who was behind him, arrived and went into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, as well as the burial cloth that had been around Jesus' head. The cloth was folded up by itself, separate from the linen. Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. (They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) Then the disciples went back to their homes, but Mary stood outside the tomb crying. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb and saw two angels in white, seated where Jesus' body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot. They asked her, "Woman, why are you crying?" "They have taken my Lord away," she said, "and I don't know where they have put him." At this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not realize that it was Jesus.

its clear that the writers of the gospel do not even know what they are talking about. . . . davidylan does not know what he is talking about. . . . this is what a christian scholar had to say about it. . . christian scholar A. E. Harvey, says, "All the Gospels, after having run closely together in their accounts of the trial and execution, diverge markedly when they come to the circumstance of the Resurrection. It's impossible to fit their accounts together into a single coherent scheme."

Deu 7:1 "When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you go to possess, and has cast out many nations before you, the Hittites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Canaanites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you,
Deu 7:2 and when the LORD your God delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make no covenant with them nor show mercy to them.
where is the provocation here noetic? here we have the biblegod telling his "chosen men" to go and attack others unprovoked, utterly destroy them and show them no mercy because he has given his "chosen men" the land that belongs to the other people. . . what kind of incompetent and nonsense god is this? grin shocked huh and you still go around claiming and shouting that allah is a blood thirsty god? are you completely stupid? what is it that allah has done or commanded that your own nonsense god has not done? idiot. . .

noetic:
I am asking u because u keep ranting like a deluded goat-like god forsaken slowpoke about a subject (GOD) u know nothing about.
WHO IS JEHOVAH GOD? WHAT IS HIS ONTOLOGY?
I should be the one asking u, are u completely STUPID?
go ask the jews who yahweh is. . . stop asking me. . .jehovan god is am imaginary deity created by the ancient jews.

when u dont know the meaning of a covenant, how can u know the difference between a peace time and a war time?
are military casualties during war a crime? was this killings done during peace time? is it applicable to both ancient and later day Christianity?
you see the problem with you is that you are a deluded goon. . . you are all over the islamic thread quoting verses where allah, told his followers to attack and kill people during WAR time. . .yet you turn around and say that he is a blood thirsty god. . . what kind of killing has allah advocated that your own god has not advocated? you say that your god is a merciful and just god but we have him telling people to burn down an entire town(including innocent women and children) as burnt offering to him just because some of the people living in that town enticed some of his chosen men to worship other gods. . . why not tell his men to preach to the other people about him? why command his "chosen people" to burn to death ALL the inhabitants of the town including women and innocent children and animals that do not know anything and have nothing to do with it, because some of the people the probably didn't know enticed his "chosen men" to worship other gods apart from him?

you keep ranting like a loosed dog, yet have no understanding of the subject. Was any of these killings or sacrifices done as a commandment in a peace time? and when it was done in a war time, was it devoid of a corresponding provocation?
you said i should stop lying and show you were the biblegod accepted sacrifice, now that i have showed you, you are now dancing around trying to justify it with meaningless excuses. . .i am very sure you never new such passages existed in the bible if you did you will not shout and tell me to show you. . . .what was the provocation? because the people worshipped other gods. . .  is that a provocation? why are christians not killing moslems, hindus, shirks, buddist, taoist and other people that worship other gods and takinbgaway their women and possessions?. . . you are a complete idiot. . . .i thought the biblegod was an all powerful being? why didn't he create a land full of milk and honey for the jews? why did he have to tell the jews  to go kill off and drive out all the cannanites, jebusite, amalekites, etc from their lands? he even advocated the rape of their defenceless women, he also accepted some of their virgins as sacrifice? what kind of nonsense and incompetent deity is this? huh huh

looking at the porousity of ur brain, it is not hard to imagine that u actually expected the biblical israel not to carry the sword and defend itself.
why am i even debating with u? when u cant sanely explain what u believe/dont believe in. ur case is medically called MADNESS.
shut up and be quite thou ridiculous slowpoke . . . .where have i ever said that the biblical israel should not defend itself? where they defending them selves? were they not attacking and killing people under the diving commandment of their incompetent deity who could not provide a land for them but told them to go and kill off others and steal their land women and animals? idiot. . . .

More human scarifies in the bible. . . .

"Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods.  In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully.  If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock.  Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it.  Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God.  That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt.  Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction.  Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you.  He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors.  "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him."  (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 )
I wonder what kind of stupid, incompetent and nonsense god is this that tells people to burn to death an entire city as burnt offering to him just because some of the inhabitants of the city enticed his chosen men to worship other gods. . . so neotic. . .read your bible and stop asking nonsense questions. . .
