The problem right now is with islam. At least with the way muslims portray it to others. Muslims go about killing non believers as a religious duty in Nigeria and outside Nigeria, but we have people like vexdacool denying that fact. Those that go about holding the koran and chanting the name of allah while killing others are doing so in the name of islam and they always make it clear. . .many of them even recite verses from the koran they say support their actions. . .Pls watch the boko haram videos for example. Take a look at the whole world, its either its muslims fighting hindus, muslims fighting jews, muslims figting buddhist or muslims fighting christians. You will never see christians fighting hindus or buddhist for examples. . .Hindus fighting buddhist never happens. . its always muslims fighting every body all over the world. . .

The bible, koran, bagdavits and all religious books are mostly fictitious. . .They do contain some true stories which are mostly embellished. . .majority of the stories contain in them never happened and are fictitious. . .Thwe fact is majority of the writers of the bible are unknwon. . .No body knows who they are forget about the authourship assigned to the books by authority, the real authors are unknown. . .

I think you would do better to explain to everyone here what is exactly wrong with Hausa people, have you notice that every incident that happens in Nigeria always certainly involves your people? . . . Well the answer is not far fetch like every other group of Nigerians their leaders enjoin manipulating the masses in a bid to access power unlike other places your people use and dump their own after manipulating them as bargaining chips, this is the very reason why they being extremely poor and their theiving leaders having millions of dollars stashed abroad react in the most outrageous manner whenever perceived slight is done to them! Until when people like you who despite being atheist can address the poverty and return the stolen wealth back to the people then, people will react sanely! Remember in Pakistan a girl was accused of blasphemy yet due process was followed despite Pakistan having all the indications of a failed state! So until the Hausa elites (which includes you unfortunately) addresses poverty in their region or the accursed imbeci1e running this country grow some spine and take securing life and property his number 1 duty then all this talk and slander of Islam will be simply playing Ostrich rather than being reasonable!
That is because the hausa fulani happen to be the most ethno-religious group in Nigeria. . .This is what happens without the external reality check I was speaking about. Only one reading the Koran with the eyes of faith could seriously disregard that the book on almost every page instructs observant Muslims to despise nonbelievers. On almost every page, it prepares the ground for religious conflict. It is NOT a hausa problem but an islamic problem. . .Take a look at pakistan, syria, egypt, etc. . .Minorities in majority muslim nations are always under attack in one way or the other. . .When the taliban took over in afganistan the first thing they did was to destroy the the stature of buddah. . .It is the same exact phenomena we see with fundamentalist christians that insist on an inerrant bible. Your attitude is exactly the same, whether you like it or not. How will you argue with the fundamentalist christian that insists that his book is infallible when it says that salvation is only through Jesus? Any argument either of you make to the other is will be met with the likes of "contextual errors", "mistranslation", or "misunderstanding". Words will be twisted, definitions will be stretched, and goal posts shall be moved. . . . .The yourobas have a significant number of christians and the christians are not a minority so there is nothing the muslim can do to them. . .The world over muslims are always treating their minorities badly and persecuting them and that is the fact. . .Even the minority shias in saudi arabia and always living in fear and walking on egg shells in a majority sunni country. . .
Lol, good for you then...I am not in the mood to play "semantics" today.
Regardless if your god is morally god then why do some of the things he commands us to do inspire our moral repulsion?. . .

Example. . However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46)

Any body that issues such command today can NEVER and will NEVER be considered as good. . .So how is your god good when we have him issuing commands we consider to be bad and evil?. . .

Logicboy03: Hamza Tzortis, a well known muslim apologist made the claim that

1) Muhammad is the greatest man to ever live

2) That the iphone came because of islam (referring to the Arab golden age with algorithms and algebra)

3) Innocent before guilty in Western Courts came as a result of Islam/Muhammads teachings

The funny thing is that he never makes these claims in the non-muslim forums that he gets into. He only makes it on a muslim show

O yea, he didn't see it coming. he was expecting the muslims to bow to his "superior" logic and change their views while he adamantly refuse to change his own view even after serious debunking. cheesy

he is a good apologists though, he is really good at defending his indefensible religion, i guess every religion has their bright minds, whose mission is to defend their faith by all means necessary, fair or foul
In there lies the problem. . .Sure every body should defend his/her world view but when it comes to outright lies then it becomes something else. . .Sophist like anony are just a joke, anony and others like him(William lane Craig) will throw the bible under the bus just to prove ridiculous points. For example William lane Craig who many say is the best christian debater and apologist will tell you that the god of the bible is the source of all human morality based on what is written in the bible, but when you show him how the bible god gives out moral instructions that even him abhors he will say that maybe the writers of the bible made a mistake, maybe they weren't told by god to do all the killings, maybe they just went on their genocide missions and falsely claimed god told them to do it. . .I am SERIOUS that was the defence he used in his debate against Edward Tabash. . .I was stunned. I like muslim apologist because they don't really go out of the way to throw the koran under the bus, they just use the koran and the basis for their arguments if you dislike what the koran says then its up to you to accept or not. . .

Logicboy03: The bold parts are the parts that I feel are the most important.

There is a deep seated disgust with unbelievers in Islam that goes deeper than the one in christianity. Read only thew first two chapters and count how many times the unbeliever is said to suffer.
Muslims are indoctrinated to believe that they are special and should consider themselve very lucky that they are muslims. That's why you hear them say things like thanks god am a muslim. They feel its a privilege to be a muslim. Islam just spends to much time exerting it self and making sure it comes first before anything. Christianity does that bit not as much as islam. Unbelievers are to be hated but not as much as in islam. Allah dislikes the unbelievers is what the koran says. . in the bible its not so clear, yahweh hates the unbelievers but they are to reached out to. . .Islam is too rigid while christianity is not, you can always self project yourself as god and tell people anything and the bible which is very contradictory will always be there to support your point of view no matter what it is. . .
Christianity Etc › Re: The Difference Between The Average Nairaland Muslim And Nairaland Christian by mazaje(m): 7:01pm On Nov 21, 2012
The main difference between christians and muslims every where is indoctrination. The christian religion indoctrinates the average christian in a very different way islam indoctrinates the average muslim. I was both a christian and a muslim so i can say a word or two about it. Islam indoctrinates with excessive fear. It makes you believe if you doubt anything the religion teaches you will die immediately or some kind of evil will befall you. Islam says you are allah's slave and the relationship that exist btw muslims and allah is the master slave relationship, you are to accept the laid out commands and fully obey them with out complain. Allah says and that's all that matters. Allah is not your father, he is your master and you are his slave and that's all. Fear allah or be doomed that's all what islam teaches, fear fear fear and that's all. . .Everything begins and ends with fear. If allah says kill the infidels then they must be killed because allah is the master and as muslims your only duty is to worship allah and do what he says as the master. Slave are not supposed to have an opinion because only the opinion of the master counts. That's why muslims cry when allah or mohammed are ridiculed or insulted. They have been indoctrinated to believe that they are the ones that are supposed to fight when allah or mohammed are insulted. Allah is way to powerful and too big for people to insult him according to the way they were indoctrinated. He is the ultimate master and should never be joked with in any way. When i was a muslim even as a kid i was way too afraid. I was told my duty as a human being was to do all of allah's command. What ever is written in the koran is the untimate and as slaves we are just to obey without asking questions.

For christianity it is very different. The fear also plays a part but christianity comes with the fact that we are all yahweh's children and as such we have a "personal relationship" with him, the bible uses words like "comes let us reason together says the lord" in some parts so christians use that nuance to do many things like interject their personal opinions and interpretations. The relationship is not predicated on the master slave relationship like in islam which makes it not so rigid. Christians are always evolving on their positions because of the personal relationship they feel they have with their god unlike muslism who have no personal relationship with allah. The character of yahweh is also very contradictory that christians can easily cherry pick which character they want to go with and be very comfortable. If you want the violent fire and brimstone god who is a master the bible will provide you with that. . If you want the meek and fatherly type of god the bible will also provide you with it. Yahweh has no definite character based on the bible, its very easy to make out of him what ever you want to. Christianity like islam is also about serving yahweh or facing doom but due to the fact that there is this element of father child relationship it allows people to do what ever they want while still claiming that they are christians. The excessive fear factor does not exist in christianity the way it does in islam. Muslims must put islam first before themselves. . Christians on the other hand normally put their christianity and themselves on the same level.

I don't think I would tolerate my wife going that close to the guy in front...I'm a very jealous person.
Why will the husband have his hands around another lady's waist?. . .The guy holding her bum is doing it with more than enough confidence(he is even smiling and posing for the camera), and she doesnt seem bothered, they guy she is leaning against looks uncomfortable in my opinion. . If god created all these outrageously huge things, why would he stoop to handling the affairs of little common men like us, trying to prove his power by fighting a tiny bunch of egyptians?

Does that even make sense? That I rule the world and have all the power there is, but will stoop as low as to exchange punches with a drunk village man?
Or fighting along side men and unable to defeat some of them because they had iron chariots. Christianity Etc › Re: What Should Be Done About The Nigerian Gay & Lesbian Problem? by mazaje(m): 11:26pm On Nov 18, 2012
And once again, my point is that if what is right for me is wrong for you, and what is wrong for you is right for someone else, we immediately lose the right to make any moral judgments. For instance, you can no longer claim that a murderer is evil. It is merely your opinion. Murder is right for him.

If we respect subjective morality, we can no longer make any laws because it becomes a case of "who are you to tell someone else that an action is wrong?"

Whenever you say that something is evil and expect someone else to obviously agree with you, you are at that moment assuming an objective morality because you expect everyone to know that obviously such and such is wrong.
You know what am talking about but you as usual are trying to make things up and run commentary on them. I maintain that people chose what is right or wrong in every society, morality depends on what people chose to label as right or wrong. Consensus is what people chose to tag what is right or what is wrong. Morality is not objective but depends on the society and period in time. When I say that stealing is wrong I say so because most societies have come to agree that it is wrong, but that can not be said about polygamy or homosexuality. People select leaders and leaders through consensus make laws that they live by which are enforced on the people based on how the feel justice and prosperity of the people will be served, sometimes these laws are made based on greed and selfishness. These laws are subject to change and are constantly changing. Through out human history morality is based on human consensus and varies from place to place and time in history. It has never been objective and has nothing to do with any god since all moral laws and codes of conduct are a creation of human beings. . .

ifeness: I totally agree with you bro. Even Jesus might ask christians to cast the first stone if they think they are better than the gays.

The human race is still evolving,so laws do change according to the levels of evolution. Therefore, judging our present day society with the bible is wrong. Even our laws today will find the god of the bible primitive like the boko haram and talibans e.g stoning wayward children to death, not working on sunday etc. although some people are still caught up the the past(christians and muslims) that doent mean there are no sane people aiding the growth the society deserves.

The more we evolve, the more we readjust our laws.
Anony keeps claiming that morality is objective but when asked to show how he keeps speaking english. . . .

Ihedinobi: You really should look into that brain fatigue, you yawn too much when you suddenly get faced with brainwork. Makes it look like you're going completely brain-dead.

Meeehn, you done muddled things up, made a right pretty mess of it all. sad The Christian is the Holy Spirit's instrument for bringing the Word aka the Gospel aka the knowledge of the Faith to you, but the conviction, that persuasion in the heart is not the believer's job. It's his. Furthermore, just as your car can be said to take you to London, it is you who drive it there.

In like manner, the Holy Spirit "drives" the believer to share Him with a struggling unbeliever. In sharing the Faith, it is the Holy Spirit that the Christian shares and the Holy Spirit persuades the heart to let Him in. Only He can entreat the heart, nobody but God has the reins of a man's heart. And the Holy Spirit is mighty good at His job, though the heart can be steeled against His gentle entreaties, and quite a number of times is.
The heart only pumps blood to all parts of the body it has nothing to do with thoughts. . .The writers of the bible falsely thought the heart is what is responsible for thought and reasoning. When a person is anxious his heart beats faster as such they falsely thought reasoning comes from the heart. They didn't know anything about the brain. The bible is the word of ancient men that do not have as much knowledge as we now do. . .
