OFFICIALAEL: Goodday House
My application got rejected today. I am thinking of reapplying since my intended program starts in September. My reason(s) for rejection is (are) stated below; I am not satisfied that you would leave Canada at the end of your stay. With the following ticked, travel history, family ties in Canada and in country of residence and purpose of visit.
I applied for a two year PGD program in computer information tech. -Studied Maths.statistics undergraduate level -Paid one year full tuition of 10k -Had 10k CAD in my dollar acc -Have three years working experience as IT support with Microsoft certification -26 years of age -letter of acceptance, schoolfees receipt -Personal documents submitted are IELTS, bsc cert, waec, employment letter, letter of introduction from coy, study leave grant, affidavit of return, 2page SOP (was vetted it by a trusted guru), intl PP, birth cert plus that of older siblings (all independent), salary bank statement (abt 200k balance), land gift deed from parents -Sponsors documents submitted are intl PP, letter from previous employer, retirement letter, personal account statement , fixed deposit statement, land docs, shares doc, letter of support, affidavit of sponsorship
Please with the above information what do you suggest I do as regards reapplying? Thanks Don't be in a hurry, contact your school and let them know your trv app was denied and ask them when is the next available academic session so you can defer your admission. I will strongly advise you order for your GCMS note to know the real reasons behind your denial as that will help you package a better app next time. TRUST ME, THE WAIT WILL BE WORTH IT. |

goingforward: Hello Nairalanders,
My school's tuition confirmation deposit is 10kCAD. My school is advising to get my study permit first then make payment afterward as the 10kcad payment is nonrefundable. I am stuck in between the step to take.
To pay or not to pay before study permit application submission.
Is there anyone who did not pay any tuition and got study permit approved?
Goingforward. You don't have to pay tuition before applying for trv but make sure the money is in your account, the explain to the vo that you would have loved to pay your tuition fee before applying but your school don't accept tuition fee until trv is secured. Paying tuition fee doesn't guarantee trv, it only shows to the vo you have funds readily available for your studies. |

reichwolf: Hello peeps, this was my previous refusal letter. At the time I was still finishing my MSc Petroleum in the UK & was applying for a 1 year Business Administration program at Medicine Hat College, Alberta. I’m back home now and I will be applying for an MBA 2 year program in Thompson Rivers Fall 2018. Can someone tell me how I will draft the SOP to convince the visa officer that I’m coming back? Order for your GCMS note/CAIP file before your make any other move. |

Kemdy97: Please how best do I prrsent my current activity
I worked part time as an office assistance while I attended to classes for my OND program in building tech
I finished officially in 2016..and continued with the law firm job until late late year that I got back with my engr on site where I did my siwes .....currently I get to visit site every Saturdays and public holidays while I an currently running my HND program which just started 2 months ago ...I am going for BSC civil engineering
Now my question is do I state that I am fully on site as an internship student who is not being paid any salary but just stipends to take care of his expenses ..or tell them I am still in sch but visit site weekly Bro don't shoot yourself on the leg, I have told you how to go about this before. Forget about the HND and stick to the internship programme, let the company also write a letter that you are an intern with them and you don't get paid for it(it is not all jobs that people get paid for as there voluntary jobs even in Canada). The decision at the end of the day is still yours to make, but I have done what a concern fellow should do. Best of luck |

Kishkosh: Guys , pls , is it a must to include payslip and or bank transfer from employer as evidence of salary , what if employer state the amount the applicant receives as salary in the employment letter because to be honest, i work with my Uncle and he doesn't really transfer money to me as such, he pays/gives/dash me cash cuz of our cordial relationship. The man is like a father to me. No need for payslip, just explain it on your SOP that its a family business and they give you stipend. You uncle should also state same in his letter of support. But hope he will transfer funds to you or pay your tuition fee before you apply(to show commitment)? Cos it will help your case since he is a third party |

Jewel80: Goodmorning guys! I went to do my medicals today, and i got the notion that upfront medicals can be a whole new wahala SOMETIMES. Some VOs dont actually take time to check for your result, they will just go ahead and regenerate another form for you to go do medicals, and in such cases, u will have to go back to where you did your medicals and do a redocumentation that will cost you another fee.
This is just what i found out today. Please gurus, how can i avoid this? Will stating in my SOP that i have done my medical on so so date help? You won't be asked to pay any fee. Once you do your upfront medical, make sure you make photocopy of the medical receipt/proof that will be given to you by the clinic. Submit one copy with your application while you keep the other copy, it is that copy you will resend to cic if they request for your medical. |

reichwolf: Hello there, do you think it’s possible to obtain a Canadian Student visa for an MBA even though I already have an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from the UK?? I was denied the Canadian visa in November 2017. I don’t really know how I will convince the Visa officer in my SOP that I will return from Canada after my studies Your question has been answered before, you can read back to see it. As long as you can explain why you are going for the MBA instead of PhD(since you already have MSc) you will be fine. Read previous page to see the person with same case as yours and he got approved. Also, did you order for your GCMS note after your last denial? If yes, what does it say? if no, then you have to order it to have a clearer picture of the vo's reason(s) for your denial |

Kemdy97: Must she transfer money to my personal account what if I open a new fixed Nigerian account in my name for the money to be transferred Why open a new account when you already have one? Does she really want to sponsor you or you are using her cos she has lots of cash in her account? cos the fixed account thing makes me feel the only way she will transfer the money to you is when you fix it(to avoid stories that touch). Well, you can open a new account but I feel since you have a old account it will serve well. She needs to trust you with the money, except is she just want to act as your sponsor on paper and not paying anything when its time. |

harde116: Well, i guess i can still do the upfront medical, but i'm sincerely trying to avoid it because i want them to request for it before i do it. But that should be allowed somewhere else even though i am very sure it will be crazily expensive outside Nigeria.
I did not register for courier and i did my biometrics in lagos. So from all indications, i may have to choose which one is more important to me, or i prepare to cut my waka short. This delayed processing is not fair sha tbh! Bro it is too late to do upfront medical cos you have submitted your application, all you need do now is wait for cic to request for medical before you can do it. Upfront medical is done before submission then you will submit the medical receipt with your application. So, you can travel to US then do your medical there when called after which you can run down to naija when cic request for passport |

harde116: Hi guys, i hail una.
Please who has an idea how this works? I applied for over 5weeks now and till now, i have not heard shingbain from CIC. However, i need to make a travel to the US next month and would be there for a couple of weeks. Now i don't know when i would be contacted as no one is really sure and i cannot be running back if i am not done with what i'm going there to do. If i get contacted while i'm in the US, can i do medicals and also drop passport for stamping while i'm there?
Abi i cannot sha put all my life on hold like because i am waiting for TRV approval, the exact reason i didn't do paper route in the first place.
Please if you know anyone that has done this, kindly advise.
Thanks guys.
All the best!
ABEG ANSWER O... The mistake you made was not doing upfront medical and also paying for courier service when you went for your biometrics(cos I want to believe you applied via the online route). I think you can still do your medical at any clinic recognized by cic(even in the US) but the main problem will be submitting of passport when its time as you will have to submit it where you did your biometric in person or via courier(that's if you registered for it when applying) |

Concerning the matter on ground(if one can withdraw from his/her account after applying for trv), I think many people are mixing the whole thing up. Just like I said in my earlier post, nobody is stopping you from withdrawing from your account during this period(afterall the account belongs to you) but if you must let it be from the excess. Imagine if you withdraw your tuition fee/living expenses after printing your soa (for business or whatever reason) and you can't replace it when its time to travel? Countries like Germany will ask you to open a block account(by transferring funds to German bank) before applying for visa, so if you know you want to apply for trv make sure you have the money available(not with the intention of withdrawing half way into the process). I still want to state it again that cic can ask about some transactions on your soa if they feel like(it is something I have confirmed more than once). |

She has no cac but she is a recognized dangote distributor big tyme..and has meaningful amount in her bank acct...already my parents have paid half tuition fee...while she will take care of my welfare.. How do I introduce this ND what document is she bringing She needs to show proof of business(anyone can say he knows Dangote or Bill gate in his sop), she needs to prove it that she owns a functional business cos that will help explain the large sum of money in her account. Also, I will advise she transfer the pledged money into your personal account and state it in her letter of support that she has transferred the money(to show commitment), you will also state same in your sop. Let her get her tax clearance, office rent(receipt)...... anything that will prove she is the owner of the business. |

Since you are not yet through with the HND I will advise you don't include it, just tell them you are doing your IT. |

Renewable0216: Hello people,
It's my first time writing on the Canadian thread after many years on NL. I'm currently studying in the US(many thanks to the NL thread) but I am making this inquiry on behalf of a close relative.
He is a little above 40years, married with 2 Kids. Both parents have only their BSc. He's been working in the Banking industry for over 10years and he's a Chartered accountant.
He's seriously considering immigration options for himself and his family. Given that he's of age and don't have a Masters, his points on the Skilled Entry Scheme is quite low.
What feasible options can he consider? He's willing to advance his career by going back to school but not sure if he should go for PGD,MSc,MBA(that's not too expensive).
Which of the options will be easier to get Visa with?
Are there other options?
Thanks for your anticipated responses. Studies (MSc or MBA) route should do. Let him search for schools himself, he might be lucky to get funding from schools(depending on his BSc grade and his research interest). NB: Finally, let him join this thread and get first hand info himself instead of you doing it for him. It will help him more |

jnyuwa02: If the names are spelt wrongly from the name on your passport, you should go and rectify the names on your certificate and NYSC. Otherwise, go and do your passport in the name on your certificate and NYSC. You dont want CIC thinking you burrowed someone’s certificate with almost similar names like yours. Cc: Tecnokid, an affidavit stating there was a mistake on your certs will do. His first and last names were well spelt, just the omission of "h" in the middle name so that won't be a problem. AN AFFIDAVIT WILL BE ENOUGH! |
