olugere: Kindly assist with this question @frankrobbi, mxcobex, thisboy, going forward as many that want to contribute 1. Your wife don't need police clearance. And if cic needs it they will later request for it (so many main applicants have gotten trv without police report). 2. From what I heard it's like the family info form has been pushed aside, so you don't need to include your siblings. Most people use siblings and parents for the purpose of home tie. 3. Not compulsory as well, but if it will make your mind be at rest you can include her parents birth certs |

ladyb4sure: Guys is #180,000 too much for the below visa documentation?
Police Report Comprehensive Medical Clearance Application Bank Draft for the High Commission Notarization and Editing of Affidavit of Support Documentation Pre-interview sessions will be provided if invited for interview. VFS Fee Biometrics Fee
Can I documents the above list with less than #120,000k
A well know Canadian Travel agent request I pay N180,000 for the above service.
Please, advice guys. Yes it is too much, you can do it yourself for way less than 120k. Police report = 3k- Medical itself (I don't know why they said clearance)= #28,050 @ children's practice. Application bank draft for high commission(I don't what they mean by this but I feel it's a way to syphon cash from you). Notarization= not that important but even if you ,use do it, it goes for 500/document @highcourt ikeja(you can negotiate for less sef if you intend doing more than 3 documents). Preinterview: Don't worry as cic won't call you for that (no fear as they have a lot on their head to arrange interview for you)= #0 VFS/BIOMETRIC FEE: #56,050 for paper app and close to 70k for online. Do the math and see |

Trondevices: Hi guys please I need advice on my visa application.i just recieved my admission letter yesterday to to study masters in business administration for September fall 2018 in Thompson rivers.i have 3 concerns mainly (1) my nysc will be over in October while the semester starts in September (2) advice on how I can present my brother who has two kids as sponsor (3)It’s just two months far from September and am worried about the time frame to prepare my documents and also visa application duration which takes over a month.please guys I need candid advice.thanks 1. You won't have issue with your NYSC, be truthful to the vo that you are serving now and apply for your trv. 2. Let your brother submit his statement of account, proof of business/work/source of fund, his letter of support stating how much he will be committing towards your studies and he should state his number of dependants(mainly children and wife), his work ID. For more read page 0 to get more info. 3. There's still time to apply, you should have gathered your documents even before your offer letter showed up. But not withstanding you should be able to meet up, as you can gather your documents within a week or less. Still read page 0 of this part to know more about documents to submit. BEST OF LUCK |

I You need to work on your SOP. Your SOP should speak for you, it should answer all questions you think will be going through the vo's head. You are going for studies and as such you are expected to return back to Nigeria after you programme, you also need to explain how related your intended course, previous course and work experience are related(just feel the vo has no idea what business admin is). Another important point is letting the vo know your plans after study(how you intend using your MBA back in Nigeria). Lastly, you can decide to apply alone (there won't be any red flag) or apply with your children but I ALWAYS ADVISE APPLICANT TO APPLY ALONE FIRST THEN AFTER FOR THEIR CHILDREN AND SPOUSE AFTERWARD cos with that you will have very little convincing to make and your children and spouse can serve as your hometie. |

Do you think i should reapply with them again with a very strong sop Pls help with suggestions pls Thank you Apart from you applying with your children, I think some other things didn't look convincing in your app. From the GCMS note, it seems you have been working for some years now1 and you didn't show enough funds(personal fund). Kindly share your profile(your academic history, working history, funding etc), so I can have better idea of your case. NB: I always advise the principal applicant to apply alone first then apply for children or spouse once he/she has gotten trv but that doesn't mean people haven't been getting it when the whole family applies together. Frankrobbn1: olugere,
I want to drop into conclusion that you're a paper route applicant..
1-) You're expected to submit originals of bank statement. Letters addressed to the embassy should be originals and all other supporting documents are meant to be photocopies. You don't necessarily need to notarize your documents before submission.
2-) You can certify/notarize your documents in a notary public office.
3-) Documents that needs to be notarized are documents that does not bear an official signature or stamp on them. If your documents has an official stamp and sign, then there is no need notarising them.
4-) To notarize a document, you will need to take along the original copy to a notary public office, of which it will cost you between the sum of N500-700 per document, depending on your bargaining skills.
All the best! Cc: Olugere , visit the notary public office in ikeja high court and it will be done. GOOD JOB FRANKIE |

**How long does it take for passport to be dispatched from the embassy after the final decision had been made**
I submitted a paper application, and later linked it with online account. On the 10th of May I:e last month, I received a notification that the application was refused through the online account and up till now the passport hasn't been dispatched from the embassy and when ever I tracked it, it always shows the submission date which the application was submitted. The application is going to four months now. This is my third application, in which have been answered all the questions thrown on to me. Sorry for the delay, your passport should have been dispatched by now. Find time and visit VFS to collect it, though they should have mailed or text you to come for it but sometimes it takes them longer period to do that(even when they have it there). If you live in the same state to the VFS office you applied from then feel free to stop by there any time(Mondays-Fridays) or you mail VFS to ask if it is with them before going |

dozieihems: I have 13years experience in mechanical field Then I will advise you to apply for MSc instead of PGD, though your undergraduate grade is not great but you can make up with your 13 years experience. Also most schools focus on your final 2 semesters in school(BSc). Still search for schools that will offer you masters(trust me you will find some) cos with your level of experience I think the vo won't buy the idea of you going for PGD. |

ayoadefantastic: Hi guys,
I am a newbie here and I have tried to read this thread back quite a bit. I appologize in advance if my question sound redundant. I am applying for a study permit, to begin PhD in September. I submitted my application last thursday and I did biometrics this last Wednesday. I have already submitted the application online before I jammed this thread. I answered the questionaire provided and it give me a personalised checklist consisting of only 5 supporting documents viz; admission letter, proof of finance, family members, passport photo, and int. Passport. I was waived of medicals becausr i was resident in the US until the end of April. Having gone through this thread now is why I became concerned that perhaps i could have added more documents. Although on the app. form I was quite detailed about my travel and work details; i have done studies and research in Germany, USA, Philippines and Austria. I never did anything in Nigeria as I left four years ago after nysc. In addition for the proof of finance i submitted the offer my future advisor sent which show that i will get an annual sum of 30K CAD. Please guys what do you think of my application particularly as i didnt show any work tie or submitted an SOP? First, you have already submitted your application so there is very little you can do about it now. You can still send additional documents to cic after submission(especially if you feel it will increase your chances of securing trv). Secondly, I have seen applicants submit their apps without SOP and got approval. The main reason for SOP is to explain anything that's nit too clear to the vo but if your case is straight forward I don't think you need SOP. Finally bro, nobody on this forum or any other forum can tell you if you will get trv or not(it is the vo in charge of your case that can answer that). Just hope for the best and worry less. NB: PhD applicant's don't really get same strict scrutiny as undergraduate and Msc/MBA/PGD applicants(from my research). |

reichwolf: Concerning the Status in Country of residence, I was in the UK at the time as I just finished my MSc in Petroleum. Also concerning the Purpose of Visit: I was planning a PGD in Business administration in Medicine Hat College Alberta. I think that maybe the VO didn’t find it convincing enough to spend much money just for a 1 year PGD. This time I’m applying to get the visa for a 2 year MBA in Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops British Columbia. I think that maybe showing real academic progression by doing an actual MBA might convince them in my SOP? Thanks for y’all answers. From what you have said, I can see you did MSc in petroleum and now going for business management, why the sudden change? Do you have any prior management experience? There has to be career progression from your BSc-MSc-working experience-your intended programme. If there's no progression it will be a problem. All these are just suggestions from me and it is only your GCMS note that will bring out the real reasons behind your denial, so please try and get it before reapplying(even if it means you deferring your application now) |

The reasons for refusal in my first attempt were: Bro, like I said order for your GCMS note before making any other step. It is better you know why you were denied(the real reasons) before you reapply(even if it means you not meeting up with Fall resumption). Contact your school and let them know your app was denied and let them tell you when is the next available session for you, then you can defer your admission to that time while you fix the reasons for your denial PROPERLY. yetunde84: Hi people,
Do people get rejected after medical request? Yes they do but it is very rare. Once cic request for an applicant to go for medical there's a 98% or even 99% certainty that the application will be approved but if let's say an applicant did upfront medical, he/she can get medical pass and still get denied(its more of a 50%/50%). The only time I advise people to do upfront is when they don't have much time(applying late) but if not then allow cic to request for it |

goingforward: Hi @Asapant,
Thanks for your speedy response. It's not actually Dalhousie university. It's York University.
Why I am concerned is because I have read on this forum where several people stated that not making any payment of Tuition is not good for ones application.
My question is, if I leave the funds in my account to show the tuition money is available wouldn't it suffice.?
Plus is there anyone who has gotten study permit approved without paying Tuition.?
goingfoward. I don't think anyone in this forum said "its a must to pay tuition fee before applying for trv" as it is not a must(except in some few cases where the school instruct you to pay full/part of tuition before applying for trv. The advise is these, if for instance you have a sponsor(especially a third party) he/she can either pay your tuition fee or transfer the fund into your account. NB: Paying tuition fee doesn't guarantee trv, it only tackles the aspect of fund |
