rolorolo: Hi,
It may or it may not. In my own case, I had previously travelled to Canada. Didn't stay up to six month and I was picked on travel history. Although, I birth my baby in Canada which was not stated in my TRV application then. I am yet to receive the GMCS note to understand the issue.
I have another instance where an applicant visa was denied because all other members of the family currently holds a valid TRV. I am in this situation as well. Once I receive my note, I will share it.
Thus, previous travel history to Canada may or may not affect your application based on the circumstance involved.
Thanks Bro, your travel history shouldn't be a problem as long as you didn't violate the rules while there. I bet you won't see anything relating to travel history when your GCMS note arrives. The moniker that brought this up used the word "MIGHT" , that's why I said nothing about it. |

Snappyfingaz: Sponsor doesn't necessarily have to transfer to one's account. All the V.O wants to see is that there's money available. Transferring funds from the sponsors account might deplete his/her funds and that is where you really wanna have the bulk of the cash in. As for the applicant, even half a million will fly for him/her. It is advisable for a THIRD PARTY sponsor to transfer funds to applicant's account or pay the tuition fee before applying. It is not just about having enough funds for study but the fund must be readily available for the applicant when its needed. If sponsor is applicant's parents or siblings then there's no need transferring or paying fees(except if the school request for it). |

Kishkosh: Hello house , pls, I have government funded scholarship/sponsorship for my master . But they won't pay into my account until my visa is out and ready to travel. Plus, my uncle who is also my employer is supporting me, but will only make available his bank statement and affidavit of sponsorship.
Can I apply for visa with just the letter of sponsorship from government and my uncle without them paying into my account at the time of making my application ? If the government scholarship is recognized by cic it will scale through. Does the funding cover your tuition and living expenses? As for your uncle, I ALWAYS ADVISE THIRD PARTY TO SHOW COMMITMENT by transferring funds to applicant's account. |

rolorolo: Hello House,
I started following NL since I submitted my TRV application in March. However, I must state that since March and now, I have gather more than enough information on this forum and I can certify myself as immigration consultants on Study TRV. I even went as far back in following thread 13.
Please I have an issue at hand. I was refused of my TRV on 10 May, 2018. Reasons for the refusal are:
Travel History and Statement of Purpose. Of course, I knew the next step of action. I ordered for my GCMS notes even before I picked up my passport on Monday but the note is yet to be made available to me.
Now to the main concern. I have travel history. (to Canada, Dubai, SA etc). I have been to Canada before and also, still have a valid Visa on my passport. I didn't stay up to six months, never committed crime (background check was completed without any flags) but however, had a baby. Could that be the reason why i was picked on travel history? Besides, all my friends who previously traveled to Canada on TRV for birthing purposes were never refused in their subsequent application. Also, my husband, son all have valid Visas to Canada. Could that be the reason?. Guru in the house, please I need your advice as I await my GCMS notes or possible response to the refusal if those identified above could be the reasons. If yes, how can I respond? Do I need to plead for not stating birthing purposes in my previous TRV application? How can I tackle this?
With regard to purpose of Visit, I have drafted another one as the previous SOP submitted was not convincing enough. I just adopted / built on another person's SOP who was also refused. The revised SOP is now finalised. Please can any of the Gurus in the house assist in reviewing this in readiness for my GCMS notes? I will send what I previously submitted as SOP and the new one I developed to the volunteer to see the extent of work and originality I have now done. I wish to submit my application latest two days after my GCMS notes are received as I have started collating all my documents again. School resumes 23 September.
Besides, I was awarded a scholarship of $4,000 and my sister, practising medical doctor in Canada is my sponsor. I was not flagged on ties in Canada cos I showed strong ties at home in form of assets n family members (husband n son) as I stated they were not going to accompany me. To me, travel history is not really a reason for denial(you will see that when you get your gcms note). As for the purpose of visit, I can't comment cos you didn't state your intended programme, your previous programme, your working experience(if any).... knowing all these will give me a clearer picture of your case. As for your SOP, I think it still depend on me getting answers to the above questions I asked above |

mightyola: Does he have to go the whole 9 yards in terms of documentation(all the required sponsorship docs) or a letter of consent will do, since its a joint account with my sister and she has already provided those necessary documents.
MY sponsor which is my biological sister, gave me to different accounts, which are:
1. A joint account ( her husband and herself) 2. Personal Account
My questions
How do we address No 1 in the letter of sponsorship. Must her husband go the whole 9 yards in terms of documentation(all the required sponsor's docs) or a letter of consent will do?. Since its a joint account with my sister, she has already provided the necessary documents. No need to write two letters of support, they should jointly write a letter of support and signed(both parties). A single letter stating they are both sponsoring you and the amount should be stated as well. |

Retina: Hello people, Great work you are doing here. Please I am applying for study permit for PhD to start in January, 2019 at the University of Manitoba. I have an entrance scholarship of 5400CAD and I have Teaching and Research Assistantship of 21000CAD per year. My total expenses from the letter i was sent is 30000CAD per year. I am using my uncle as sponsor.
1. Please how much must he declare as support for me 2. I got his 6-month business statement of account with 2M as opening balance, 1M as closing balance, withdrawals 278M, lodgements 277M...I am concerned will this be adequate?
Please help IT WON'T WORK. Let me ask, does the 30,000CAD cover living expenses? If yes, then you need to raise additional 4000CAD(which is above 1million naira). Your sponsor has just 1million naira in his company account(not even his personal account) which is not enough to cover the balance of 4000CAD requested by cic. Another thing is the vo will require the sponsor to have enough to carter for himself, his family(dependant) and also to run his company. I will advise you get another sponsor and make sure they use their personal statement of account as well. |

BoystoMen: Thank you Yes I studied business administration And applied in a university for MBA I have 7 years experience in banking as a relationship manager Your gcms note should explain what the vo reason was concerning "Purpose of visit" . Knowing the real reason will go a long way in helping your next application. Also I think you need to work on your SOP and maybe apply alone this time. |

But from your profile, I noticed you didn't mention if your intended programme is related to your previous programme and also your place of work. What is the relationship between the three? cos the vo ticked "purpose of visit" which is mostly ticked when intended programme is not related to previous one or working experience. |

I don't want you to take this personal(cos its not), but why will such questions be asked here when you can easily visit the school's and cic website to get this info without any stress? The earlier we start doing our own research the better cos things shouldn't continue this way. |

Emmaokudu: Good day, quick question, during the application process, the documents you submitted were all photocopies right?, did you have to take it to a legal practitioner to get certified true copies? or can i just submit it like that?, thanks. Not necessary you legalize them, but if you have enough cash then do it. All document will be photocopies except letters/document directly addressed to the visa officer (bank statement + letter of recommendation) |

emeify: @mcobex, the child is 7 years old. Hope it wont look funny after it had been indicated during the principal's application that the child would not accompany her. Kindly advise No effect, the principal applicant can apply for child and even spouse and it will scale through. The applicant can decide to travel to Canada first before starting the process or do it while still here..... The most important thing is trv has been secured. When is the principal applicant resuming school? |
