Someone said here using a sponsor's company account is a redflag, what about a company where your sponsor is the sole signatory and it happens to be in his name like "Joseph and Son Ltd"?

And it also happen to be the only account the sponsor does his transactions and have huge sum in?

What is one suppose to do in this situation?

Someone claimed something happened in march 2017.....recently we had some1 that travelled and testify here about his poe experience but promise to share more light. I also know of some1 who is not on this thread that got to Canada precisely toronto and he only tendered LOA, passport and cic corresponded letter of visa approval. His doin fine self. Please when something happen to you or any1 u know try to get the fact before causing chaos and panic here. Becos dis kind of news can discourage people to move forward. What happen to that moniker's cousin sister might just be one off situation that happen to her. Just like when u go for US visa interview and the Vo don't ask for SOA becos most times it happens. Dats the reason am pleading to everyone travelling dis week to resume summer classes to please share poe experience so we can have updated info.

LOL! POE experience differs so no for us to panic , an immigration officer cam attend to 10 students 10 different ways so let's not allow that person's experience to affect others

u just have to wait for cic to contact u, except if ur application has passed the processing period (which is 16weeks=4months). keep praying and ur medical mail will show up

The school already say they don't give such. So, best alternative is to print email conversation with them and add it in SOP/LOE in a format like ...... Accoording to .....Tuition cannot be paid until resumption in September (attached is my email conversation with the school).

If they doubt you, they can always confirm themselves. So, no big deal.

to be on a safe side mail ur school to give u a letter stating tuition isn't accepted until u get ur trv. just let them know it's part of cic requirements and they will draft a letter for u. the earlier u do it the better bro

it is not compulsory but if u link it u will be able to check how ur application is goibg (like if ur application has been approved u will know instead of just getting a mail that ur passport has been discharged at VFS for u to collect)

if ur program is beyond 6 months then u must do medical (upfront or on request from cic).

Some schools won't accept any payments till you have started your program an got a trv.
Don't forget some schools set their own rules

A letter from the school stating they don't receive payment till when trv has been approved will solve it

@mcobex Good morning. You need to understand that the circular from CBN was clear as to the frequency of each limit. The circular clearly stated 15k usd or its equivalent per term/semester. Not 15k usd or its equivalent per year. So assuming you have 2 semesters in a year, that's 30k usd or its equivalent.

A simple letter of explanation in addition to the documents earlier mentioned will really suffice. I will be very surprised if the CBN comes out to issue any letter to an individual. It's important you politely draw the VO's attention to this through your simple letter of explanation. It's not as if you are saying anything wrong because you're being truthful. Such that if they decide to contact the CBN, they'll know that you are right. Plus the CBN website is there to verify the circulars. The commercial bank that issued you the letter can also be verified if they so desire.

Good evening. I had mention this before. CBN as at today cannot issue individuals such a letter because they do not have any banking relationship with individuals. The CBN deals directly with banks and as such issues directives/circulars to guide their operations. Get the latest 2 circulars from CBN to banks on foreign exchange transactions. You can find them on the CBN website. Regardless of the limit of 15k cad, it is your best option and will suffice for the purpose as demanded by CIC. This has worked for other people outside this forum.

In addition, visit your commercial bank and request for a letter of reference. This letter affirms your financial strength and also states the current balance in your account. Standard practice! Plead with the bank as well to incorporate a statement in the same letter stating that the funds that they have quoted as being in your account can be transferred/exported abroad for the purpose of foreign tuition payment and other personal expenses via form A and personal travel allowance transactions IN LINE WITH THE CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA'S POLICY ON FOREIGN EXCHANGE TRANSACTIONS.

Attach this letter of reference and the 2 CBN circulars with a cover letter written by you to provide more clarity.

This is your best shot and has worked for other people outside here. Not rocket science my people.

we aren't disputing ur suggestion and I think same way as u on this, but the other side is CBN directives only covers $15k for students so what now happens if a student hasn't paid his tuition and the tuition is $20k + his living expenses of additional $10k(total $30k) how will the bank provide such when it's time for u to travel? so that's why yemdoogg said he had contacted CBN to get more info from them

I mailed the CBN contact office about 1/2 weeks ago...not sure when.

They said they're not aware of such information from the Canadian Embassy and that they would revert back to me as soon as the CBN takes an official position on the subject and this could take 3-4 weeks. Still waiting on them since then. I will send them a reminder tomorrow. Let them come and clarify this o.

cic is just being too strict on naija applicants , but I pray CBN sort this out asap. I also feel cic wants applicants to pay tuition fee before applying for trv but they don't know how to say it's now "mandatory " for students to pay their tuition before trv application

I understand. Do not forget that there is a limitation in the amount of 15,000USD or equivalent for school fees per transaction/term.

So if an applicant's school fees is say 13,000-18,000CAD, once the school fees is paid, the limit would have been reach or almost reached
The bank can only issue confirmation to what is applicable and in accordance to directives from CBN.

In the end, it will boil down to the naira equivalent of applicant's tuition and living expenses. The lesser the tuiton the better to accomodate 10,000 CAD.

Any further transaction can be done either through dollar account or other means but certainly not at school fees rate.

that's true, I feel what cic is now trying to imply is for us to pay our tuition before applying for trv (so it will just be the 10k that the bank will have to convert to forex).... I pray CBN do something about this

Apparently, showing funds for living expenses in naira equivalent may not be enough with this latest development. Bro, i'll advise you meet your bank, discuss possibilities of sending funds to canada, they can suggest the best way to this. The bank should give you options especially with the new policies of forex.

that's not really an issue (except he has withdrew the money from the account immediately he applied. all he needs to do is take the letter from cic to his bank and they will draft a letter of assurance that when it's time for him to travel they will make available the amount he needs (his living expenses) sail able in Canadian dollars, also since he can't get any letter from CBN he will just have to print a proof to shoe CBN has asked all banks to provide forex for people going for studies, medical etc when they want to travel(provided they have proof that they are going for the said purpose)

ok, u don't have issue then, just make sure u submit proof of change of name(newspapaer publication)when applying for ur study permit to prove the admission truly belongs to u. it's not an issue. NB: ur marriage certificate will be needed as well

I had applied earlier bf I got married with my maiden name. Buh I have changed my name n passport and (although my new husband's name I just added to mine with hyphen so it practically bears my old n new name) with evidence of change of name.
I have written to the school, yet to get a response, hence I called dem and they said I should contact d local embassy in my country as regards my study permit.

has ur old passport expired? well I think there's no problem with it, just get ur marriage certificate and proof of change of name (newspaper publication ) when cic ask for it and u will be good

bro admission if way different from trv as must of the visa officer's don't really make research on things like that, so u must have to explain in details in ur sop the relationship between both courses and let him understand . that's my point .aspa u not working u can tell the vo that u have been been doing voluntary work(maybe helping ur parents in family business) but don't leave an unexplained gap for the vo

It is what it is brother. You are still inadmissible to canada for mis-representation. You apparently were banned previously and the period hasn't elapsed. So you have to wait for 2 years more before you can aply to canada.

Good Morning my people. My wife was initially admitted for MESc at University of Western Ontario but the supervisor wanted her to start in January 2017, meanwhile she applied for Fall 2017. The admission letter came out in december for January 2017 but we appealed to the supervisor to defer her till May 2017. He agreed and issued another letter and she used that to apply for TRV on Jan 12th, 2017 with upfront medicals. School is resuming May 8 and still haven't heard from CIC.

Is it Ok to request for another deferral though I once heard schools do not approve deferral twice(Dunno how true). Please kindly advice on the best option (wait or request for deferral bearing in mind that its a full funding and we hope the man doesn't change the mind)?

the only thing u can do now is contact the school and inform them how far u have gone with ur trv and they will advice u accordingly. u can't contact cic now cos ur application is still within the processing period. mail the school and inform them and hear what they have to say

Lol! bro it's "SAFER" if the money can be there throughout the duration of ur application , imagine if u remove the money immediately after application and during the waiting period cic now ask for ur statement of account again (which is a rare case though). what will u do in that situation?

bro I don't understand , pls explain better. to me u said u studied petroleum engineering but u intend going for mechanical engineering now, that's why I said both courses aren't in line so for u to silent the petroleum engineering u must explain to the visa officer what u were doing that period cos the visa officer won't be happy seeing any gap without reasonable explanation for it. explain better let me know what u meant

bro I think u have more problem to tackle than just home tie, ur intended program isn't in line with ur previous program so that's a big problem. yes u want to go for another UG program in mechanical, that means u will have to tell the vo what u have been doing for the past 5 years or so (which is the period u used to get ur BSc in petroleum engineering ). If u can explain that educational gap very well then u have a chance
