Hi people. I had plans to go for my MBA in Canada as a route for migrating. I plan to do that in 2019. However, someone just informed me that my chances are good with EE. My question is, if EE doesn't work, can it affect my chances with the Post Graduate route in any way?
It won't. They are mutually exclusive events.

Nothing much. Just wasn't ready for the verification wahala with WES.
My ECA was ready in just 2 weeks from the time WES received my transcript. In fact, they sent request for verification to my school 2 days after they acknowledged receipt of my transcript. I wonder why people get paranoid over this verification thing.
In general, WES to me remains the more efficient body in terms of delivery timeline except for particular instances where they're not preferred for a favorable evaluation, like law

Hi guys,I am new to this thread. First of all, HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I am considering a canadian move this year after much deliberation and thoughts.

I currently have a job which gross is about 2.7m take home 2.1m annually.

I have a UK degree no masters yet. I lived there during as well but their immigration rules didnt favour

I am sick and tired of being in a country where electricity and water is a luxury where in other climes, its a basic necessity.

All I need is advice, if canada will pay off, I would love to be guided, if it wont. Please advice and God bless us all.

Thanks.
An emphatic YES to the bolded but that depends on what your priorities are in the interim and long term.

Are you bothered about your pay, even people with 5 times your earnings still make the move while some others with half of it decide to live and die here. Like I said, it's all a matter of what your goals and priorities are and how you intend to shoot at them

I was wondering how come that post gained popularity today, I think it's clear those who requested recently don't read. The same bro who posted your quote just yesterday shared links to 33 books. Yet, we see people quoting a post of over a week when links de few pages back.

It's like someone sees another person's request quoting the post, then without reading further just clicks on the initial post and boom, makes his own request. Circle continues. Issa worrying sunthin
The bolded is the point. You find a plethora of questions whose answers are just a few posts above them spluttered all around. Come to think of it, this thread is not only informative, it is extremely interesting to read, if you start from scratch (my opinion). Most of all, it boosts one's hope when one reads the IELTS, ECA, ITA, PPR and COPR testimonies of others. Everyone needs this healthy dose of confidence boost

These CIC people are beginning to vex me. They must be smoking something. So they make us wait 3 weeks only to still invite just 2750 people again even when they have higher targeted for 2018. It’s like this talk of CIC being unpredictable is getting into their head. Na by force to be unpredictable? SMH.
It’s a little annoying though when some of us don nearly drown finish inside pool waiting for life jacket (ITA); whereas some others just enter pool and catch ITA same day even before their cloth wet. Issokay!
Anyway, Congrats to all ITA recipients; and please, I’m not beefing o. Safe journey from here on!
Remember that time your parents asked you to study Medicine, Pharmacy or Law? Ehen, this is the price of that disobedience grin grin. You for don wear life jacket before you enter the pool sef.
On a more serious note, I think the scores would likely drop towards the end of the first quarter. Something tells me so. Anyhow sha, the scores suppose reach that kind 420 or less this year. Somebody shout hallelujah

Hello people,

Please I need someone to please help with this.

Is acceptable (by CIC) for my husband and I to put in 2 seperate applications into the express entry pool as we are both qualified.

The reason i am asking is this - My husband has already received ITA and we are in the process of submitting. However we have some concern about his application particularly around the NOC and in order not to put our eggs in one basket, i want to retake my IELTS and hopefully get my 8 in listening and enter the pool as principal applicant as well.

Can we do this?
- Why not share the NOC here, have it reviewed by a few more people before he submits? Wouldn't that be the better thing to do?
- You may create your own profile if you choose to, since you do not already have any existing one.

CIC says: You may only have one profile at a time. This is set out in Canada’s immigration law.
Creating more than one profile will not give you a better chance at being invited or allow you to be invited under a different program

I do not think being an accompanying spouse amounts to having a profile under the express entry scheme.

The choice is yours sha

You guys are amazing with your responses. i appreciate that. i was a little confused seeing immigration law firms like Campbell cohen asking me to register with them online. i was kinda confused as i saw several others with the same plea of registering with them. i needed a tried and tested one by a nairalander. thank u.
David Cohen picked my profile (from God knows where) and persuaded me to do this EE thing over 2 years ago. He even advised that I write IELTS then, which I reluctantly did and later abandoned. They continued the follow-up until late last year when I told them I had completed a number of things on my own (thanks to NL) and they let me be for good. I can categorically tell you that all things being equal, the information/services they offer aren't very different from what we are enriched with on this forum. The point then is that if you can read and read well on this (DIY) forum, you may not need the services of Cohen or any of the other Canadian immigration law firms.

On the other hand, if you have enough money to pay for their services, you may give it a try and come back here to share your experience. There is no knowledge that is not power

Thank you very much for your response bro. Pls what is the fate of someone with only a BS.c degree in Economics? i do not have a professional cert to back it up. what do u suggest pls? thanks.
Fate? Having a professional certification in your field (Economics) isn't a criterion for eligibility for EE. Just do the page zero thing painstakingly and you'd understand the minimum requirement enough to teach them in schools wink

you should read this thread from the first page (and previous parts) to equip yourself. It is long but usually an interesting read if you do so with enthusiasm of what lies ahead. When you're done, you'd have answers to these questions and more but before then, do not engage the services of an agent to register for IELTS. I don't see any point in that

Hello House,

I have been following people's testimonies and I am about taking a step of faith.

I am about submitting my documents (ICAN & MSC) to WES for assessment. However, I am wondering if I stand a better chance based on my profile below:

1. Bsc Economics 2008 (Ambrose Alli University)
2. 5 years experience as internal Auditor in 1 public quoted company and 1 multinational
3. 3 years experience in 2 multinationals as Senior Tax Manager
4. ICAN, CITN, CIS and CIMA Advance Diploma
5. I recently graduated from a University in the UK with MSc in supply Chain. So I am wondering if that will impact my outcome.
6. I have properties that can provide enough funds to cover POF. But, I am worried about the six months deposit in the Bank before VISA application
7. I am 38
7.Writing my IELTS next month

House your input please. Kindly Advise a brother

Thank you
If you're not married, evaluate your MSc and your CRS would be 420 with IELTS score of 8777 in LRSW, all things being equal. Your CRS score could be as high as 432 if you max out all modules in your IELTS. You'd lose 6 points however if you turn 39 before ITA comes. The odds aren't bad

Hello everyone. Stumbled on this thread when it was in part two and I've been following, though not avidly but would try to read up all (from part 1) soon. But before that, I have a question which might have been asked before but I'm going to ask anyway. I'm in my final year studying for a degree in Business Education. Normally, since acquiring the ACCA is quite expensive in Nigeria, I plan on doing my ICAN upon graduation and then apply for exemptions in the ACCA which from my research could be used in acquiring a CPA/CGA in Canada due to the Mutual Recognition in place. Do you feel it is necessary to go through all that or I should just try to acquire accounting related experience and then apply for the EE, then maybe fortunately if I get to travel to Canada through the EE program, do the CPA itself in Canada instead? Please I need you guys help on this. Thank you
understand that work experience is more valuable here than a certification. Both are good. If you can run them concurrently but if by any chance you're at a fix as to which to pick, go for the work experience.

@newmum0615 and others in the know

I'm curious about "ielts writing" and I had thought to ask for a while now.

If they test says 250 words, am I to write 250 words and maybe a little spill over of say another 30 words extra OR I can write as much as I want insofar it is not below 250 words?

Is there a penalty for writing waaay above 250 words...say, like 500 words?

Thank you.

It will surely end in praise IJN!
You get penalized for writing below 250 words but not above. However, in your best interest do not try to impress by being too detailed. You'd expose yourself to unnecessary errors which would attract marks deduction too. To be safe, write no more than 350 words

It says at least 250 words. You get penalised for writing below not above. But try to keep it past 250 and not much more than 350. Believe me,
except you just want to start writing off-point, I believe you should practice to stay within the 300 limit. Time may not even allow you to write plenty stories. The important thing is to make sense and ensure you answer the question,
provide examples and use a range of vocabulary and grammar to ensure you get good marks in each criteria. Your introduction, body and conclusion must be on point.

Good day elders in the houz, nice work from you guys please I am in dire dileman and will need your advise on the way forward. Presently I am not working and don't really have personal saving to do most of the process except help from people since I lost my job about 6months ago this is my problem,

I checked the CR's score yesterday and my total score is 436, can I get Ita with this score? Considering the fact that the money I will use for the Ielts and Wes will be gotten from friends and family. If I am to spend almost 250k for the processing from passport, Ielts and Wes and did not get ITA won't dey see mi as a waster.

Or should I just think of going into business then any money I realised then used it for the processing, but the fear that policy might change is another thing like US visa lottery which Nig are not eligible to apply.

Pls anyone with better idea how my crs can increase?

Finally, sorry I have to do this if anyone can help me secure or refer with a job, I have experience as a customer service agent and relationship manager I will be forever grateful.

I am graduate wt 2:1 in public administration.

Thank u
My dear, to get on this train, you have to be strong willed and be able to make certain (sometimes tough) decisions. Many people here have had to go through varying degrees of challenges and they often scaled through, yours won't be any different if you stay determined and focused. I suspended a major project to get on this race after an initial reluctance 2 years ago, I have since lost 11 precious potential CRS points. It was a massive decision for me to make at the time but I remain hopeful despite IELTS trying to play ludo with our morale. The fear of not acing IELTS will only pile more pressure on you so free your mind, practice well and go for the kill. 436 is a fine score for 2018. In the end, you'd be glad you gave your best to this cause regardless of the final outcome.

For financing, you'd need some good amount of money to be honest. To be prudent, you'd need to have a budget of about 500k, excluding flight ticket and PoF to get this thing done properly. If you can do an honest assessment of how such an amount can get to you, then by all means commence. Believe me, if you put your heart to this, help would come from the unexpected. However, you also need to do a periodic reassessment of your sources of funds. You'd be good in the end.

Thanks to those who have indicated interest in having you in mind if/when a possible job placement comes up. I'll send you a PM if there's any from my end too.

Stay motivated
