I have not put it on a weigh yet(will do that later today) but it feels like a 40 to 45kg pack. FWIW each of cells is 2kg and considering the materials used for packaging anything from 38kg is fine.

How I got mine: Meet with a guy remotely who deals in lithium. So he coupled for me 16 EVE LF105 to make 24V 5.4kwh (actually nominal is 25.6 as each cell is 3.2V) and ofcourse it comes with a BMS and voltage indicator.

His contact is on the battery sticker but you may also PM me if you like to have his details

What's the weight of this battery? Can you type out the contact as it's a bit hard to read off the picture? Thanks.

This theory is flawed. As long as the batteries are not overcharged, staying afloat for a long time should not be an issue; that's where trickle charging comes in. I've seen Ritar batteries stay afloat for six years without any issue with little discharged in between which occurs only during changeover which lasts for less than two minutes when it happens. Your setup even has more time to discharge during the night. Like I said, unless the batteries are constantly overcharged, if not, Simba should be held accountable to honor their warranty.

What inverter and load did you use on it? It's pretty annoying when battery fail so early. Damn, let's hope good lithium will come to our rescue.

Not really correct, a package I bought on 22nd December was picked two days ago. It took 24 days. What I noticed that most 11/11 and other November 2019 packages are yet to make it due to reasons I can't really tell.

Awesome, the cells link connection gauge wire doesn't look less than 10mm². They also ran a 6s2p connection with I guess a LiFePO4 Battery Prismatic Cells. Though a lil rough, it appears solidly built. I hope they used a top-notch BMS. Have you considered changing the crocodile clip to a cable lug to ensure a tighter connection? Thanks for sharing the picture.

In my own case, the manual says once you edit any settings on the SCC and after saving it, you need to disconnect it from the battery and re-connect for the new settings to take effect. I don't know if yours will follow the same manner.

Pls note that you either do that at sundown or if you must do it at daytime, ensure you first switch off your solar panel-SCC MCB or disconnect your solar panels from the SCC before you even think of disconnecting the SCC from the battery.

All my senses were extra alert when I was doing that, all in an effort not to commit that easy-to-make mistake.

At bolded, experience they say is a great teacher, who wants to fry their SCC??

DIY forum...peeps usually love to do it themselves. No offense. So if it won't be much of a problem, you can always share your source. But if peeps still wants you to help them source it, by all means they are always free to contact you.

Actually, if your inverter has a display that shows your load wattage, you should be able to see the load consumption as you add individual load.

To get the idle consumption, unplug all the load and see if there's still any reading on the display. If you get a reading then, that's you inverter idle consumption. If the reading is zero then, it means your inverter is 100% efficient.
What it means is that, it doesn't drain your battery when there's no load on it.

This pics shows mine with a load and without load.

I think the best bet is to check the no load DC draw of the inverter when it is not handling any load.
This is simple to do, just put on the inverter with no load, then place a clamp on the battery terminals and check the no load current draw, then multiply whatever you get with the battery's voltage to determine the power consumed on no load. This is the idle power of the inverter, of course the inverter's display won't show this.

Lifepo4 it's really the bomb and worth investing on... I chose the this battery for my small setup which did cost more than if I had used lead acid battery.

I bought mine directly from the factory and it cost me 140k for 12v 100ah

Seriously Lifepo4 is the real deal, just can't wait to go off grid. Already have a smart MPPT SCC secured ahead...

Care to share the link of the shop or contact address of this factory?

Bro, the UX has been fantastic so far. I have working AGM batteries that I have decommissioned lying redundant, although they'll come in handy in my experiments.


So I had to immediately change charging setting on the MPPT SCC from the default AGM charging setting to the Lithium charging settings, and also edited the maximum charging voltage from 14.5v to 13.9v.

Pls whoever is on Lithium should take note of the bolded. Due to the efficiency of MPPT solar controllers, it's advisable you select lithium settings and edit it to the manufacturers recommended charging voltage for your battery.

Thank you for the comprehensive reply, you just answered my question on why I wanted to know the MPPT SCC, I wanted to see if it has features like ability to set charging voltage, as mistakes in charging voltage can lead to the failure of the expensive batteries. Do share with us when the battery gets back to the market. Thank you.

Bought from a dealer in Nigeria. He did run outta stocks and is importing new supplies by March.

I charged the 120ah with PWM SCC until last week when it was changed to a newly acquired MPPT. The performance ever since the SCC change has been breathtaking.

I charge one 60ah with a hybrid PWM inverter on 150watts (x2 in parallel)

The other 60ah is charged via MPPT also on 2 pcs 150watts panel but in 2s1p config.

Oh, thought you imported it. What is the make of the MPPT SCC that you using for the lithium batteries?

How's the user experience? Is it living up to the hype of lithium batteries? A colleague imported this type of batteries some years back. It turned out the place he got it from used low quality lithium batteries, the experience wasn't so good.

Ok. That's cool. Then have you checked the connection to ensure they are tight. If yes, then I think the next step is to check the charge controller. I hope what it displays is accurate. But for you to find out you'll need a clamp meter.

Yeah I checked the voltage of each of them and they were fine(over 30v each), my inverter readings also confirmed that as well. However I have not been able to check the amp individually, do I need to check that as well? And what tool will I need for that? I have a multimeter.

Update: Okay after some googling, I found how to check my panel current with multimeter. They all checked out (some beyond panel spec which was strange, but I guess more is better right?) except 2 which was below the rest by 2.5amps. Done some thorough washing and tilting for them. Will see how it goes.

That's ok, by the way how did you measure the current without a clamp meter?

Pole relocated to remove shading. However I still remain puzzled on my harvest, I should be seeing close to 8A and over 1.5kw but am not experiencing that. Now that I have eliminated shading (there is improvement post noon), I am left with tilte as the next possible thing to look into. My setup is currently flat, is this an optimal position? Or what would folks advice?

Your tilt angle is ok. Have you individually checked each solar PV? If you haven't, I guess it's time to do that.

I have a friend that lose his dispute and he's not the first. At times, you might have your account frozen for abuse of dispute. Also, sellers do rate buyers and it learnt it counts too.

I've never lost any and I always have an agreement with sellers before opening a dispute. Most times,
it's after an extension of buyer's protection.

I don't open dispute unless seller failed to deliver in 60 days. I never contact seller for stories either before opening dispute. I never lost too, dunno why I never do.
