I think i agree with you. In as much as not everyone can give away stuff free. I think this place is for clearance sales as the name suggests. Instead some "real@ sellers have hijacked the place with somewhat near outrageous amounts for used items. Abidec76: Sincerely you are right. We should let some things go. Sports › Re: Perumal: How I Fixed Nigeria’s 2010 World Cup Qualification (Pic) by megastu(m): 6:55pm On Aug 20, 2019 |
There was a Nigeria league match i can bet my life on that was fixed. A team needed 7 goals to escape relegation and they got it. How lucky cn one get? LongrichPlanet: Mehn match fixing is real. I once organised a grassroots football tournament in my city for amateur clubs with a winning prize of just 50k. Do you know a team needing points to qualify paid thousands to their opponents who had already qualified in order for them to allow them win by several goals. Omo na so this team that was the strongest team in the tournament, suddenly started conceding stupid goals and their goalkeeper who had been invited to flying eagles camp before, faked injury and went off to be replaced by one rubbish goalkeeper. The whole thing was happening before my eyes like a well scripted movie. I called the referee and told him to continue as if nothing happened. After the match I formed a committee and deducted points from both teams as well as fined them, then awarded the points to the other team that would have disqualified if their fixing plan went ahead. So fixing in football is a real something it's not theory

Travel › Re: Why Do Nigerians Abroad Always Discourage People From Traveling? by megastu(m): 10:50am On Aug 20, 2019 |
This your last paragraph make brain die. Even me i encourage people doing well in villages and smaller towns not to come to Lagos oh. Originalsly: Let me ask.... which is worse... the Black man not helping his fellow Black to get up?....or.... the Black man who keeps pulling down his fellow Black man? You may not realize it... but you are in the second set. Yes there are China Towns... Little Italy...etc... communities of people from the same place .. where recent immigrants usually stay first until they get up to speed with the new society and branch out. Why conveniently leave out African Nigerian /African communities? Don't you know they exist abroad?...just like the others? Or is it you are bent on putting down the Blackman? And those residents are not there to encourage others to come join them. You need to change your mentality and stop helping others to put down Blacks.
Now on the topic.... what exactly is discouragement?... what is enlightenment?... are those abroad discouraging others from migrating?... or enlightening them about the pitfalls and misconceptions?
Let me put you in the same boat as those abroad. What advice would you give someone who has a profitable business in his village... lives very comfortable... but wants to sell out everything and move to Lagos?.... hoping to work very hard to make it big like so many others there and be driving Mercedes? What advice would you give to him? |

OP, If you say you are well travelled you should have been aware of Belgian embassy and their antics. They are very well laid back and have very few staff. It takes donkey years to get a passport processed. I am sure yours will soon be out. Just be patient RealistSuper: I never said VFS Global is affiliated to the Belgian embassy, however as an experienced visa application processing company, giving customers advice or pre-information regarding applications to countries should be a matter of morales but NO they are blinded with their percentage charge of the application fee. Telling me after waiting for over 5 weeks that Belgium looks at applications at their own time is not in anyway helpful.
There is no excuse for the Belgian embassy and their ridiculous processing time which you call "background check". I have read other embassies processing and making a decision on whether to grant visa or not within 5 working days. Even if Belgium needs 15 working days which is your 3 weeks, 5/7/2019 till 16/8/2019 is over 25 working days. This is crazy sir! |

In addition, the fact that you still do not have a travel history despite working for an international organisation is a big minus for you. However, you can give it a try, I am sure if you explain yourself you would get a visa. LewinskyMon: Your records are with the US EMBASSY, submitting fake documents is a serious offence which invariably makes you lose credibility even when you have a genuine one, with the current trend of recent with the US embassy, your chances are as slim as a cattle passing through the eyes of a needle, your chances however is only known to God, Jesus Christ Allah, Ogun, obatala, orunmila, sango and ifa, but if you are ready to give me 10 cows, 10 goats 10 native big chickens, I can do the prayers for you and l will share the fried meats with all the posters on this thread, and going to the UK first might not cut it |

Please use an hotel as against hostel. Cashmanbreeze: Hey guys, I don't know if this is the right place to post given that most of the talk is based on student's visa. I'd appreciate any responses.
I recently received an invitation from a client company in the Netherlands. The company made it clear in the letter that they would be responsible for my transport and accommodation to, in and from. The issue I have is been that hotel accommodation is a prerequisite, do I still need to show proof of accommodation? Also, how do I go about travel insurance? Do I get the insurance before I submit the application or when the visa is ready?
Anyone with ideas, please help. |

Do you school in Europe. When I had a European residence card I used the opportunity to travel almost the whole of Europe. You should explore as much as possible. These are memories you will forever cherish. davide470: LYON
I am not a big fan of road travel but my stay in this part of the world has changed my orientation towards it so much that i have done a 12-hour bus trip from Paris to Berlin.
So i got to Lyon by 1:30pm and checked in at the Hotel (Hotel De Normandie) which was very close to the Gare (Station) Lyon Perrache. I wanted to go for an Airbnb but the cost between one and a fairly good hotel was not much so i opted for the hotel option.
After resting a bit, i went out to explore the 3rd largest city in the French Republique after Marseille and Paris.
Picture 1 & 2: La Basilique Notre Dame de Fourvière: It was dedicated to the Virgin Mary whom they said saved the city from a plague that swept Europe in 1643 and also, candles are lighted across Lyon in what is called Fête des Lumières (Festival of Lights) The inside is actually quite beautiful. Mass still holds so one has to be quiet. I am not a Catholic but i wanted to attend a Mass but it was starting late so maybe next time. Also you can have a good view of the city from the Basilica as it is at the top of a hill and has a dedicated train (Funiculaire) which runs at a steep angle.
Picture 3: Place des Jacobins - it is classified as World Heritage Site by UNESCO and one of the famous in Lyon.
Picture 4: Place des Terreaux - another UNESCO World Heritage Site (Under renovation) |

I have been to Geneva, Switzerland. Uts a very nice place but very expensive. However, there are some cheap hostels you can stay in to cut cost. When I went in 2007, it used to require its own Visa but from 2008 you can access Switzerland with a schegen visa. MrBrownJay1: Quick tip When visiting Geneva, remember that it is a very expensive city, and staying on the French side is cheaper. So get a hotel or place to stay in Ferney Voltaire/Ornex (France) for example, and just commute to Geneva (5mins Uber ride). |

Thanks for this thread. How is the outsourced store going? EMMAACHILE: This thread is mainly for those who want to earn money legitimately online. The only con is the amount of money required to operate this business and the little pecks involved in running it. Running an Amazon or shopify store should not be taken with kid gloves. You need a lot of education to run them successfully. Also for those who are running away from Nigeria because of the economic woes, invest that sum online and earn some amount before migrating if you still have other issues with your homeland. You could earn as high as $20,000 profit per month for those with large starting capital like $30,000.
Any personal questions will be ignored and all inquiries as much as possible should be on the thread. No private messages will be entertained
This thread is just to guide those who are interested in this lucrative business. I am currently investing a lot in this education to possibly open an Amazon center in Abuja or Lokoja hopefully and tutor those with little income as low as $500 to run their stores. I am currently running an outsourced store with three other people and hope to get my own personal store. |

Travel › Re: Are Visa Interviews This Easy? by megastu(op): 9:11pm On Jul 24, 2019 |
How times have changed. Does this still hold water in Nigeria now? megastu: Lemoor, let me make this comment. We, Nigerians, have demeaned ourselves so bad, and the majority of people who go to apply for visas have no business at the embassy gates.\
Take this example
1. Someone said he attended University and does not know the name of his V.C
2. Some people apply to go for conferences, and during interviews, do not even know what they are going for.
3. A highly placed embassy staff once told me that some people come to apply for masters and cannot even fill simple application forms.
4. The worst, i have heard, was a student with admission to a school in belfast, upon getting to immigration at heathrow, was asked where he was going to live, he said dagenham, and he would be going to school from there daily. Infact the immigration officer did not waste time in returning the guy back to Nigeria.
Haba, Le Moor, you now see why, they can make that compliment when they see Intelligent Nigerians.
I was at gatwick one time, and immigration officer was asking me all sort of questions, and i cut him short by saying he should not bother with the questions, that i do not intend to immigrate illegally, and even if i had the chance to migrate legally, i wouldn't come and live in U.K, because the rent for a year for one room in U.K is what i pay for my duplex with enough parking space in Nigeria. He just laughed and stamped me in.
We ought to be ready before we approach foreigners, in any dealings at all. |
