Number one, it’s their choice to do so. It takes collective effort and agreement by all sides to do so, which would be easier if they all saw themselves as the same tribe/people and decided to come together under one umbrella. Adopting a unifying dialect becomes easier afterwards. Without that majority willingness to come together under one main ethnic tribal umbrella, adopting a unifying dialect may be impossible.
I understand but what Im asking is, what stops them from doing that? Whats the difference between Igbos who centralise their language and Efik/Ibibios who dont?

Igbos are politically more disunited but still chose to centralise their language for conveniences' sake.

Celebrities › Re: Peter Okoye And Wife, Lola, Celebrate 6th Wedding Anniversary (pics) by midnighter(f): 9:04am On Nov 20, 2019
CeterisXVII:
The main reason why their mum disagreed with Peter's choice of Lola, was because Lola was Yoruba and she was also older than Peter by a few years. Both of these reasons were enough to disqualify her, in their mum's eyes.

But a few years ago, Paul and Peter started having differences of opinion, because Peter said his family members had been disrespectful towards Lola. Peter stood up for her and Paul and their other brother Jude, felt offended.

They never said Lola categorically did anything wrong, anyway that difference of opinion between the twins led to them splitting up their group, PSquare.

As expected, the entire family decided to blame Lola for the split, instead of trying to resolve the problems, between both brothers.
Okay, thanks for the info

I will check this up but I know a former friend whose eyes are utterly black.

Not really pale but the brown is very noticeable.
If you look into his eyes when a bright light is shining on them you will see that they are brown

Except if he has a genetic condition

The markets are overpopulated for a start. There is no regulation surrounding how many people can and should fit in tight stalls
Yes, there should be a certain amount of space separating each stall from its neighbour and the electronics they use in there should be up to code

It's beginning to give me concern
Hm. Maybe you need to re-programme your mind; it seems like you only like girls you think are unattainable.

And then when youve gotten her, the excitement is no longer there

Maybe you have to adjust your expectations and be more realistic about what you want from the relationship apart from perfection or fantastical romance

You both should.come.up with bulk.purchase of major items.
It may only affects a month, but last and saves longer, but then, don't get generous with it.
Get a bag of rice, a 10kg semi, wheat, half bag Harri etc.
Now imagine how ling it would take to finish the bag of rice.
Yes. Buying small amounts instead of in bulk wastes more money than most people think. I have always preferred buying in bulk plus its much less stressful

When I wrote, I wrote about subject matter I know very well. If you like put all the sprinklers in the world in a market, if people's attitude are wrong, the market will still burn. No angel can help when power sources are perpetually left on, when fire systems in place are not maintained. And like I have written design is about give and take, you can't always put in place everything in face of a daunting budget constraints. People have roles to play in preventing fire.
You have a point but you shouldn't be trying to minimise the importance of these things as if they are an inconvenience...even if people are careless or have a bad attitude it's still wrong to build a structure without bothering to include inbuilt safety measures.

It's a two-pronged approach and budget constraint is not a valid excuse. Health and safety features are designed to limit the effect of human error.

So because people throw litter all over the street RIWAMA should refuse to collect trashhuh

Another "Nongreat.nonresearcher" loading. You guys will never hear.

Anyone that is serious about making new friends would do so from getting close to people and gradually it builds up. I am just thinking that someone is about to embark on another journey with a known end
Well people can still make friends online if they're smart about it.

That guy went about it in a confused way which is why he ended like that

Nothing wrong with it if you are sensible

In Protestant Christianity baptism doesn't prevent one from entering heaven.
In catholicism all unbaptised persons can't enter heaven, but those that don't deserve hell will just end up in purgatory.
Okay I understand it now. I am a protestant, I didn't know Catholics believed something different

it has something to do with it sister unless the kingdom of God is not the same thing as heaven

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
John 3:5 NIV
You are not serious! Baptism is merely a public sign of having accepted Jesus, what matters is whether the person has truly repented or not.

Coming up out of the water is a symbol of having been born again into your new life as a Christian. You can't be denied entry to heaven because of a symbolic ritual
Romance › Re: Beautiful Wedding Pictures Of Oyinbo Man His Nigerian Bride by midnighter(f): 7:19pm On Nov 19, 2019
Dasani:
I had to reply to this beautifully written
statement as a Black American.
True be told, the couple look gorgeous together and the wedding is incredibly beautiful.
One cannot deny the expense put into this, and it is beautiful.
The man genuinely looks like he loves this woman...and there is nothing wrong with that.
I bet he would've married her with just a "justice-of-the-peace"..and both their parents.

True love knows no color/race/ethnicity.

What bugs me tremendously is that here in the U.S., we have so many "woke, enlightened, Black power, Jesus is a black man, back to Africa" Black Americans, who claim to despise the "white man", YET very few actually move back to the continent.
They stay here in our comfortable, "functioning government" country...yet have not one intention of moving to very tough, challenging, and impoverished conditions in a foreign country.
Most Black Americans who move back to the continent, do so with little words..but extreme action.
Are there treacherous, cruel white people?
Surely there are....also treacherous Black people (which includes Black Americans, Black Africans, Black Islanders), Hispanic, Native Americans, European, Asian, Indian etc too....basically all races/ethnicities.
I definitely do not hate white people...
I have been treated very well by many of them..sometimes better than the black people.
Something psychological has happened when a person repeatedly spews that much hatred and venom on an entire race.

I can assure you that the Black American vicious narrative seen here on this thread does not in any way, reflect our race as a whole.
I totally agree...we have historical, political and sociological grievances with white people as a whole but that has nothing to do with this couple and their wedding.

Thank you for saying something reasonable, that girls posts really left a bad taste in my mouth which is why I made sure to answer everything she said...her bitterness and hatred shouldn't poison the whole thread.

I have not come across language like that in real life from a real person...only when studying race issues in academics. It's shocking to speak with somebody who truly thinks that way

more likely they do not want to engage professionals to build.

https://www.nairaland.com/5527043/pictures-construction-enugu-state-secretariat/2#84009401

does that structure built by a state government look like there is any professional input in it?
What if the professional doesn't advise them properly or impress upon them the importance of such features?

It's a two-sided thing and really, there are supposed to be building regulations being enforced in order to bring structures up to code so that it doesn't depend on either party's whim

tete7000:
Every project has a budget and you can't always meet every requirement.
See? Just look at what somebody wrote. About an essential requirement for health and safety. If a contractor or an architect sounds like this he will just accept the money and that would be the end of it. They will tell you that they are "managing the available funds to reach the estimated date for project completion"

That's why markets will continue to catch fire in this country

Baptism is a man made concept
To Think God will not allow you enter Heaven because you are not baptized, is indirectly an INSULT To an omnipotent all knowing all loving God.
So those kids that live in incubators, then die after 1 week will not go to Heaven because they did not do "baptism"huh
Not being baptised doesn't prevent one from entering heaven, where did you get that funny stuff fromhuh

Why don't people see obesity as medical emergency?
Because it's a sign of wealth here.

Plus we have a different beauty standard from other places. Obesity is attractive to some people and not stigmatised like some countries

In some places you will earn yourself a hot slap if you dare describe somebody as "fat", even if they are. You have to find another way to describe them since that word is an insult.
