fashrola:It isn't but there's this stupid notion that things must be done by an outside for them to be done right. Nigerians have taken self-hatred to the next level. In light of those facts this is a good movement - the goal should be for majority Nigerian staff, especially senior positions. |
favourmic:This man hasn't done anything - all he does is make stupid speeches that make people in the villages happy. The hard work was done by his predecessors. |
It's probably Chinese people exporting from Nigeria to China. It's the same nonsense that they do with the ivory from other nations. |
babyfaceafrica:Mourinho only starts causing trouble within the clubs that he works for once he has become acclimatized to the environment. That's when he antagonizes everyone, both within and outside of the club. Even then he's usually won a couple of trophies by then so other teams are willing to give him another chance. Oliseh has no such track record. Oliseh showed a lack of tact from the beginning - one man can't challenge everyone at once, you should aim to get the senior players onside first. Oliseh showed an unwillingness to do so. It's one thing to ostracise Enyeama if you have someone in mind who will come in and do better but it's clear that he had no such plans so why did he do if not for a complete lack of awareness and self-control? |
tosyne2much: What really happened in the camp between you and Oliseh? How were treated? When I came to camp, I had no issues with my coach. The coach has been a big part of me. He is there for me. He fought for me when I had issues with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF). The coach defended me all the way. I have never had an issue with him. He (Oliseh) doesn’t know me. I don’t know him. We have never played together. We have never shared a football field, together. The first thing that happened when I first arrived at the camp was a meeting. At the meeting, the coach addressed the players. The first thing he said was that he invited four goalkeepers to camp because he never expected me to come to the camp. Secondly, he said that I was no more the captain of the team. That he had decided and he calls the shots. That was before dinner. He ended his speech with, “Enjoy your dinner”. For me, it was a little bit shocking because I spoke with the NFF chairman (Amaju Pinnick) during the burial of my mother in Akwa Ibom. I was trying to excuse myself from coming to the camp because of the burial. He said, “No, Vincent, you have to be in camp”. He pushed me to be in camp. And because I really respect him (Pinnick), I told him I was going to leave everything, the thanksgiving service for my late mum. I told him, I was going to abandon it and come to the camp, which I did. All the family meetings, everything we had to do with the people in the village, I abandoned all that and came to the camp. So, for me to get my first welcome message of being stripped of captainship was a little bit not good for me. And after I had taken my food and ate, dinner had commenced. I am just telling you what played out. I said, “Coach, please, I would like to say something.” He said, “No, you can’t talk”. I insisted that I wanted to talk. He insisted that I can’t talk. He then said that if I wanted to talk, he would order the team out and nobody would listen to me and I would sit there and talk alone or I would have to walk out if I insisted on talking. I said, “Coach, I still want to say something.” And he said, “Vincent, get out! You have to leave now. If you don’t leave, I’m going to call the cops, the security to throw you out of this hotel.” He used the word, “security”. He then got up, went to the door and opened it and commanded me to go out. He said, “Go out, go out, Vincent! Or I am going to call the security.” http://www.ladunliadinews.com/2015/10/enyeama-speaks-extensively-on-what.html The coach said he was fully aware that Enyeama was burying his late mother over the weekend. He said the row started when he had a chat with the team and registered his displeasure with the players over their output at the last training session. Oliseh said while completing his speech, Enyeama raised his hand to speak and he told him he does not want any comment at least now, adding that the goal keeper can air his opinion privately with him afterwards. “He (Enyeama) wanted to say something; and I said this is not the time for that because we just had a talk on how to improve our game, we will discuss private matters afterwards. He said no, he wanted to say something and I said no also I don’t want you to say anything now, please sit down we can talk later but he was adamant and he started raising his voice against me,” Oliseh said. Oliseh continued: “It was then I told him that with all due respect, this is the Super Eagles and I am the coach and we are not going to have two coaches, I am to decide who talks and when… If you refuse to accept what I say, then it is better you go out. He was still adamant and trying to raise his voice. It was then I said it is either you leave or we (the team) leave the room for you. He refused and then I told him I will order him to be taken out because he was even stopping his teammates from having their dinner,” Oliseh said. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/sports/football/191280-super-eagles-row-oliseh-accuses-enyeama-of-character-assassination.html |
Omooba77:He has a reputation for spreading discord. He might be a good coach and he talks about the game with a great deal of charm and eloquence but he seems to create problems unnecessarily. Enyeama is one of Nigeria's best ever players, not known for creating problems. All of a sudden he's gone because he wanted to give a speech at dinner. That was enough to start an argument with Oliseh - does that not sound petty to you? Do you think that such a man has the man management skills to become a great football manager/coach? |
PROVERBZ:No one should wait on the government - only a handful of Nigerian states seem interested in development the rest waste too much time trying to keep traditional power brokers happy. What we should all advocate for is the removal of much of the unnecessary red tape that stands in the way of progress. I have a lot of respect for what the NPFL has done up until now. I hope that that they continue to progress in the manner of FC Ifeanyi Ubah who has built a standalone, privately owned sporting complex for his team. |
sammyj:It's DUMB not DUMP. The irony... |
najib632:You're right. Money can purchase necessities. Prayer has no effect besides wasted time. |
caleboxylic:When has there ever not been religious warfare in the North? |
najib632:I'm not a polytheist. If I said that I was going to torch your home because you didn't give me your money would you not take that to be a threat? |
rtmajayi:This is different in that it is the airport that couldn't screen the luggage and not the airline being incompetent. |
ally2014:You know what he teaches his people - he tells them to do as his prophet did. That is to say kill those who do not conform to their ways and rape children and call it marriage. |
Farmerforlife:“I was thinking of ordering a man to give the iqaamah, then I would order a man to lead the people in prayer, and I would go with some men carrying bundles of firewood, to people who do not attend the prayer in congregation, and I would burn their houses down around them.” Are you still going to lie and claim that this is not in the Quran or are you going to revert to the original lie that it was 'mistranslated'? |
Farmerforlife:I haven't changed anything. You are claiming that he something that is written in ink isn't as it is recorded. Maybe you need to address the author(s) of the Quran instead of wasting your time with me. |
Farmerforlife:Telling people to set fire to someone's home because they won't pray with you is violence. But keep lying to yourself that it's somehow a message a peace if that is what soothes your fragile mind... |
Farmerforlife:You need to direct your request towards the OP - I have only quoted that which he claims to have pulled from the Quran. Not that it matters, this is far from the only instruction of violence in that book. |
Miles300:Which Libyan authorities? Libya is in a state of civil war and anarchy as a result of the senseless 'regime change' mantra of the western world. What I don't understand is why anyone is sending their 10 year old child to go and work. And why they would send them to Libya of all places. |
5starmilitant:And unlike Jonathan we have clear evidence that her husband stole. The money that her spouse helped himself to is still being returned to Nigeria as we speak and the man has been dead for almost 20 years. I wonder why people keep celebrating women like her instead of stoning her in the street like the common thief that she is. And if these idiots love Niger so much why do they not break away from Nigeria to form their Islamic pseudo-Arab republic with them and leave the south of Nigeria in peace? |
Farmerforlife:“I was thinking of ordering a man to give the iqaamah, then I would order a man to lead the people in prayer, and I would go with some men carrying bundles of firewood, to people who do not attend the prayer in congregation, and I would burn their houses down around them.” I was doing your prophet a favor by not quoting the hadith in full because instead of sounding like a blood thirsty control-freak the full version makes the author sound like a confused blood thirsty maniac. |
RABIUSHILE04:If you use logic then you won't waste your time in church or give your money to a pastor but that is beside the point. Why can you not use logic when discussing Islam? Why should rational people ignore the threats that are made in the Quran? |
RABIUSHILE04:So you are saying that one should refrain from using logic when it comes to Islam because the normal rules of reason and justification do not apply? |
lexiconkabir:The hadith was used to justify the point being made about the need to pray at the mosque so it is an important part of the OP's argument. If a xtian, buddhist or sango adherent said this to you would you not be concerned?: "then I would order a man to lead the people in prayer, and I would go with some men carrying bundles of firewood, to people who do not attend the prayer in congregation, and I would burn their houses down around them.” |
lexiconkabir:It makes perfect sense to say that because it's the same statement if you replace church with mosque. There is no way of knowing at the time if the person making the threat intends to carry out said attack but we do know from third party historical accounts as well as the Quran that those who refused to submit to the new mythology were mistreated, abused and killed. |
lexiconkabir:Read what I said and don't duck the question. If someone said 'maybe we should burn down your home for not going to church' you wouldn't be concerned? You wouldn't take that as a threat? |
veekid:One word: Aboki. |
lexiconkabir:So if someone said 'maybe we should burn down your home for not going to church' you wouldn't be concerned? You wouldn't take that as a threat? |
"then I would order a man to lead the people in prayer, and I would go with some men carrying bundles of firewood, to people who do not attend the prayer in congregation, and I would burn their houses down around them.” Sound like terrorist activities. |
Why do deities need to be worshipped? Why do people need to worship deities? |
Horlufemi:Cities in the US compete with each other, as well as foreign cities. Nothing wrong with healthy competition, it will spur the political leadership at a local and state level into action and stop them from doing what they've become accustomed to. Lagos was neglected for at least a decade as a result of the destructive military era - if it wasn't for Buhari Lagos would already have a metro system. Thankfully, things seem to be looking up with Eko Atlantic and the new metro system. |
Horlufemi:You make a good point but healthy internal competition is a good thing. Nigeria needs multiple hubs of economic activity - to take the strain away from Lagos but also to spread development and push back against some the stupid behaviors that are endemic in places like the North or the rural areas all over the country. |
HungerBAD:If what you say is true can you explain Boko Haram? Why have they failed to deal with Nigeria's worst ever internal security crisis if the North is so unified? |
