ijustdey:
https://punchng.com/tinubu-considers-oronsaye-report-may-merge-govt-agencies/?amp
Merging government agencies is a welcome development if done strategically devoid of sentiments cos there are some federal agencies that are located only in some poweful states and the politicians there will definitely resist so they can continually benefit employment opportunities from those agencies.
But for me the biggest way to cut down cost of governance is to reduce bogus allowances to public office holders. We should run a Unicameral legislature and have just one minister per ministry. Same goes to the state level. The Number of appointees to elected or appointed officers should be constitutionally regulated as well as scrapping the office of the first lady or first man at all.levels. a lot needs to be done to reduce cost of governance than targeting civil servants relying on meagre salaries in the name of minimum wage.

My take

Is there any party with ideology in Nigeria? All politicians cross carpert to pursue their ambitions so dont blame PO for that.
The days of party ideologies were the days of NEPU, NPN, UPN, ec....

Not these present crop of criminals called politicians. We are voting personalities now so better wise up.

Racoon:
https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2023/02/three-major-shifts-in-presidential.html
Farooq Kperoogi is simply injecting the narrative that the supremacy of Islam holds all the cards in any election in Nigeria. Watch how he played down Christian votes Obi hope to gain in the southwest while amplifying Muslim votes in the North that Tinubu will lose due to his gaffes in reciting the Holy Quran.

Farooq is selling narratives of how southern votes (esp southwest) will be divided either through religious or tribal lines but northern notes will be intact for Atiku since the former VP is the closest acceptance to Islamic block votes.

Farooq either undermined or chose to not to mention the vast area now referred to as North central and in some cases called middle belt. He also chose to forget the role BVAS is expected to play in this election if things go as planned by INEC. Of course he forgot a lot of other determinants I cannot mention since am.not writing an article but quoting a post.

One thing I do agree with Farooq is his last paragraph...how all these indices can change the dynamics of the election is still up in the air

I was there and can tell you that most of the people in the town hall were just there for the money despite being party members. Some sat down at a bar close to Naval base Wapi road to share what was given with so much quarrels. Obi and even Atiku will get more votes than BAT if an election is conducted in that mini crowd without vote buying. Ayade is a generational failure and does not have the structure or loyalty to win even Cross River Northern senatorial seat for himself talk more of winning 30%vote for BAT.

The USA is far more prosperous than Nigeria. It is so prosperous, that the houses of the very poor look like typical middle class houses in Nigeria (I am not joking).

Yet the USA has a illicit drug problem that far outstrips Nigeria's own. Infact, the US drug trade runs into the billions of dollars, with 32 million people using illicit drugs in that country...which is more than what Nigeria ever can concieve.

Infact it is so serious that their immediate past president Trump declared it a national emergency...and even his most vociferous opponents were clapping for him the day he declared it an emergency.

Are they using illicit drugs there because of Buhari hardship, or GEJ hardship...or is Buhari the real president of USA and Biden is just a figurehead?

Drug usage is a far more complex issue than you think.

Wike needs Lagos in future, he will be president one day. He is thinking through the future.

Tinubu will be the next president, especially now that Buhari and Sanusi are supporting him, plus the power of incumbency.

Atiku might not be able to try again next time, because trying to do so, PDP will boil, it would be Wike's turn.

Obi doesn't stand a chance, all the noise should have started several years earlier, and he shouldn't have even stepped legs into PDP, but PDP made him popular though. Obi too will loose, and it would be hard to come out to say he want to be president after Tinubu, because by then he would be close to 70, it would be a hot and funny situation.

I will vote Tinubu, they are all almost thesame, but we want someone that is proud of his state, built airport in his state, obi and atiku couldn't build an airport, by now ADAMAWA and Anambra should also be having high IGR. A leader should do things for the future, not just leave money in the bank untouched, then why were you voted for. You didn't even grow IGR of your state by ordinary 1bn in 8 years

RedPhoenix:
What have i been saying all along ?

It's all clear, Ohaenze and Ndigbo Elders have gone there and have confirmed the truth on first hand basis

There's no where named " Obigbo " in Rivers, it's Oyigbo

I;m 1000% certain igbos will be angry if Ijaws, Ikwerre, Itsekri begin to declare colonies in Ibo land. Why is it convenient for people to treat others in ways they'll resent if done to them. Ordinary Flavor and Phyno went for protests in a state, we knew the dust it raised, ibo to ibo. It's absolute hypocrisy to try to dominate people's wills, interests, minds, livelihoods in their lands

People ought to abide by rules of a place where they settle and not try to upset them

So, quit the psychological false narratives of " igbo-hating " Ohaneze and Ndigbo elders went to Rivers and saw things first hand and even issued a statement distancing themselves from the atrocities of the miscreants there using " igbos " as a shield to not be held accountable for their actions

Rivers and South South states and Nigeria is home to all igbos who are innovative and industrious, but the constant need to try to get away with unruly actions unchecked will not be allowed. If Ikpeazu resisted it, i don't see why Wike should embrace it

Igbo youths must behave themselves outside home land and not under the guise of maltreatment instigate crisis for/with their hosts

Igbo youths must begin to tolerate people who are different from them without causing unnecessary drama

Igbo youths must learn to stop spreading false information about being targeted when elements amongst the igbos are required by the law to face the consequences of their actions

Igbos in generals should stop trying to hide behind the shield of " They are jealous of igbo blessing " to pressure people to accept their narratives, conjectures, perspectives and positions disallowing people to make objective disagreements with them
I wish I could like this submission a thousand times over. Basic truth. Am partly ibo but doesn't mean I would support criminal elements seeking to cause trouble to their hosts. An Ibo lady friend was displaying IPOB youths dancing with the head of a policeman in Obigbo on her WhatsApp status and whom I told her to take it down she blocked me saying am a coward that does not want freedom. Crass ignorance!!!

We have deep rooted psychological problems in this country unless we change our sentimental mindsets. Some are already saying indigent people are jealous of the Ibos and others labeling those from the state as lazy. Shame. Kidnapping and Armed robbery is CRS is on the rise due to the ineptitude of the state government. Just last year it was the medical doctors that downed tools due to incessant kidnappings of their colleagues. Before then it was the University of Calabar lecturers that did same. I guess these two groups are Ibos too. Recently paraded kidnappers and cultists by the state police command have 30% of resident Ibo guys in their midst. Crime does not have a tribe neither is hardwork a virtue of any tribe. It's our choices as humans.

I pray that Chief Odinaka and everyone under kidnappers den be released unconditionally. Ayade should wake up to his responsibility as the Chief security officer of the state.
