FamilyRe: What Led To The Greatest Flogging You Received As A Kid?? by Ndipe(m): 4:10am On Nov 14, 2017
Prettyenit18:
When I was in primary one, anytime my uncle gives us assignment I don't do it out of laziness. He never bothered to ask for my home work, probably because the students were much so he didn't notice. One day I decided to do all the assignments, and I did, my mum saw it and told me to submit all my books so my uncle can mark it. I said Ok but I was scared to because I know my uncle would flog me.

Hmm, instead of submitting I decided to get a red pen and mark it my self, when my mum saw the books she didn't beat me she just insisted I submit and said Ok. Instead of submitting, I hide all the books behind a stone in front of our house --my relative betrayed me cry she found the books and told my mum. My mum pretended not to be angry, she to me to pass her something when I was trying to carry it so that I can give her she caught my two hands together and brought out wire that she had hidden under her chair, the wire was red she flogged the living daylight out of me.

She followed me to school and told my uncle everything, she also gave him the go ahead to kill me cry . He tried to but he couldn't, he must have gotten tired. Imagine 20 strokes of Cain.

You neglected your duty in pointing to her the danger of having a sexual relationship before WAEC. You have failed her and as well she failed herself. Your sister is on the way to become if not already a trainee olosho and animashaun
I disagree with your harsh assessment. Maybe the guy has tried to offer advice to her on numerous occasions but that has fallen on deaf ears. That doesnt mean that I support abortion.

You sure about water? cheesy Even health researchers have dismissed bottled water as vanity that offers no health benefits when measured with tap water. And tomorrow, another group would dismiss pure water as unhygienic compared to tap water.
HealthRe: Ibom Specialist Hospital, Uyo Shut Down by Ndipe(m):

The problem in this country, is lack of continuity. undecided What stops Udom from continuing with the projects that Akpabio started, and bringing them to completion? shocked This hospital is a classic case. It makes my heart bleed to see uncompleted projects that could have benefited the country's citizens lying abandoned, simply because those at the helm failed to manage things properly. This country does not have adequate healthcare facilities, and someone is heartless enough to let such a multimillion investment such as the Ibom Specialist Hospital, go to waste! It is very annoying, to say the least. angry
It's heartless to abandon this hospital project that was built to save countless lives. But nearly every new administration in Nigeria are prone to doing so, because they want to create a project that they would be remembered for instead of continuing the project of their predecessor because they feel they wont be given credit for it. It's very unfortunate.

I've noticed, most African American men raised in poor or struggling homes aspire to be athletes or rappers.

It's either herd mentality or they believe they are not smart enough to make it in other fields.
Maybe, it's an opportunity to make quick bucks to escape from the hood. You see some of them selling CD's from the back of their trunk. Others may feel that the society has failed them or the man upstairs is holding them back from succeeding. Some do succeed, but what's the percentage?

Which so called poor lifestyle is this Dolapo Osinbajo's father pretending to be happy with? Soyode like everybody related to the fake pastor fake professor Osinbajo is a great pretender and fantastically corrupt liar. What is down to earth about this inconsequential father of the vice president's wife when he stood by and allowed the vice presidency to rename Apapa's historic Park Lane public thoroughfare road Otunba Soyode road after his irrelevant self? Nepotism is corruption
The Apapa historic Park Lane public thoroughfare road was renamed “Otunba Ayodele Soyode Lane” after Awo's second daughter (Tayo Soyode's late wife) and not after the man himself. And this was done in 2012, three years before his son in-law, Osinbajo, became the Vice President of Nigeria. Here is the link to the article.

EducationRe: 1985 Average Primary School Fees Was N10 (ten Naira) by Ndipe(m): 9:30pm On Oct 23, 2017
At one point, in the 80's it used to be 10 naira a term, sometimes it was free. Quote me on this, primary school was FREE. But to some parents, that was meaningless, because some of there were not upto par with their private school counterparts.
FoodRe: Woman Refuses To Pay For The Food She Ate In A Restaurant, See Her Reasons. by Ndipe(m): 1:57am On Oct 19, 2017
It's quite common in America for diners to walk in, eat, and then bail out without paying the bill. It's called "Dine and Dash." Another common trend is for this heartless and greedy people to eat a healthy portion of their meal, then call back their server to complain about the dish and sometimes, either a dessert might be offered or the bill might be waived off. I took to Facebook to complain of this trend and concluded that it would never occur in Nigeria, (has anybody read "Souza" by Kola Onadipe?) I was wrong. Never ever imagined that this was also occurring in Nigeria, and the boldness of this woman to take to twitter to proclaim her greed is very audacious. WAO!

fingard02k:
in Igboland the woman/mother owns the baby and that child will bear his/her mum's surname.

The man can only claim the child if he paid the bride price
Yeah, in Ibibioland, the child bears the mother's maiden name. But as for the man paying the brideprice before claiming his child, we call it 'mkpo usongenyin." It literally means "Payment for insult." Why ascribe the term, "Brideprice" when the woman is not even your intended?
CultureRe: A Man Cannot Claim A Child If He Did Not Marry The Mother (igbos Only) by Ndipe(m): 2:08am On Oct 18, 2017
It's also common in my tribe, the ibibios. But we dont call it dowry, we call it mkpo usongenyin. I think it's wrong to call it dowry, because it implies you are paying the woman's bride price even though she is not your wife. Our is a penalty for impregnating someone's daughter without marrying her. So you have to pay up to claim your child.

What I have also heard is that in Iboland, a man cannot claim a child as theirs if he was not legally married to the mother. Is it true?
FamilyRe: My Cousin's Mother-In-Law Is Tormenting Her! by Ndipe(m): 2:05am On Oct 18, 2017
Tell your cousin not to be a doormat. If the mother in-law calls again to insult her, simply hang up on her, and do that repeatedly. If she comes over to her house to insult her, order her to leave immediately.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Have You Ever Trapped In Elevator B4?.share Ur Experience by Ndipe(m): 10:15pm On Oct 13, 2017
It happened to me in 2002 when I went visiting someone at the HP/Compaq office in Lagos with my cousin. Moment I got into the elevator, the lights went off. I was so afraid, started hyperventilating (I was visiting from the US and have never experienced this before) and my cousin was trying to calm me down. My youngest brother's funeral was the following day in Uyo, and here I am in Lagos, experiencing a near death experience. A short while later, it began moving, either NEPA restored light or the generator was switched on. I dont know if I will ride on an elevator in Nigeria.
FoodRe: It’s Dangerous To Use Broom To Mash ‘ewedu,’ Gastroenterologist Warns by Ndipe(m): 1:12am On Oct 13, 2017
Research is on-point, dont attempt to disapprove of it all because people have been cooking ewedu soup with broom for generations. It is akin to saying that female circumcision is not dangerous because this barbaric custom is a time honored tradition dating to the past. It's risky cooking soup with brooms and I agree with the researcher.

FamilyRe: My Mother-in-law Hates Because I Refuse To Call My Sister-in-law "Aunty" by Ndipe(m): 11:57pm On Oct 11, 2017
You lay down the law in your house not your mother in-law or sister in-law. If your mother in-law wants you to call her daughter, "Aunty," and you dont want to, then dont. Dont be a doormat.

For others who are telling her to call her sister in-law, "Aunty" if the same MIL says she should call her grandsons, "uncle," would you tell her to abide by that?

She's off the hinges.

I was reading Half Of A Yellow Sun when I was having WAEC. I couldn't put it down, it was just too much.

I passed my WAEC.
I had a similar experience though with a different novel. When I was preparing for my SSCE Examinations, one of the novels we had to read for the English Literature portion of the examination was "So Long a Letter" by Mariama Ba. I liked the novel, it still remains one of my favorite (if not favorite) novels in the world. And when the results came out, English Literature was the best score that I had of all the subjects that I took.

Shalomdee:
Hey guys, I really need your advice. A woman got pregnant for a schoolmate in Higher Institution, the guy actually impregnated her deliberately because he wanted her to be trapped with him. This guy is of a very dubious character and has duped a lot of people and done a lot of fraudulent things. When the lady found out all the wicked things he was into (along with getting involved in diabolic stuff), she decided to call it quitts after she was delivered of the child (female). The guy threatened her with all manner of threats but she refused to go back on her decision.

After a few years she eventually met a young man genuinely interested in her who wants to marry her, the lady is scared of commitement because she does not want a situation where she would get married and the ex would come back to demand for his child and make trouble. She does not want to give her ex custody of the child because of his dubious and wicked character.

Is there a law in the country that would support her as the mother of the child to have complete custody of the child since the child was born out of wedlock? Can her new husband formally adopt the child as his legally?

Please lawyers and people with such knowledge should comment. Mods, take this to front page as it is a very delicate situation.
"Actually impregnated her deliberately."

How can a man impregnate a woman deliberately?
