Lizards, pictures in bottles, red or white cloth, broomsticks, palm fronds, you name it. Nigerians will just go and pick up some nonsense and use it for juju. ![]() Instead of working hard and thinking of ways to solve problems for people - who will pay you for solving their problem - whether its making food, soap, or even trading. See oyinbos that work hard, use their brains to build functioning societies that reward hard work. No lizards needed. |
Illuminatiship:And when people refuse to get involved in somebody else's matter - or help in an accident, you will call them wicked. The guy actually called to tell them something had happened, yet the default response is to arrest him. This is a shame that this lady got brutalized like this... I hope her killers will be brought to justice. |
silibaba:The "little" nuclear explosions from the Sun that you feel as heat today... if all that energy was to be dissipated at once, all planets in this solar system will be vaporized. Apparently, to survive a supernova, you have to be 50 light-years away. Earth is 8.3 light-minutes from the Sun. We won't even know for 8 minutes after it had happened... that's how long it will take for the explosion to reach us, and for the information about its gravity to stop affecting us. But within 1 minute of us being aware, we'd be dead. |
AntiAPC2023:My problem is ignorance? Please tell me what diseases religion has cured, on a regular, proven basis. Or if religion is what made modern communications and travel possible. People are using the gravitational pull of the sun to launch satellites into orbit around distant planets, or using the curved design of wings to fly across oceans, and some are still doing "signs and wonders". I would rather continue in my ignorance of sacred texts that have no practical use for humanity, apart from slight bemusement at the arrogance all religions (past and present) have had. Every religion till now has eventually been abandoned. Yours is no different, I'm afraid. |
Uprightness100:I was going to ask where end time people are... I was not disappointed ![]() People are there making progress, yet some people are quoting 2000+ year old scripture that should have been relegated to the museums just like Greek and Roman mythologies. I wonder what end time people said about the first solar eclipse? |
Dem don start dis nonsense this year already... ![]() Money is a tool... you can use it for useful stuff (like employ your fellow youths), or waste it aimlessly. I don't blame them sha... if you say you want to start something, that fellow youth you employed will be the same to put you out of business. |
Xhuntra:Okene, last I heard... surname like Kadiri (or Attah), may feel like Muslim names (I think you might have wanted to say Hausa/Fulani names), but they're Ebira/Igbira. |
Arriving Ghana to get their asses whooped ![]() The only thing we have in Naija is mouth... if it comes to bragging, we dey dere. Other teams around the world don't brag like us, but they somehow win important games. |
Well this has been anticipated, not sure why the new uses words like "surprise move"... 1. the Fed had long ago signaled interest rates will rise as the economy recovers from covid 2. there was speculation that the Fed would delay the rate rise in view of the Ukraine crisis 3. rates went up anyway, since inflation is becoming a thing, and the economic impact of the war is still uncertain |
talk2hb1:The critical thing is OP made a 5v power supply using knowledge. He didn't just buy a supply. The only thing between him and the marketplace is funds and an enabling environment. How I wish we were able to use his knowledge effectively in this country. Granted the components are all imported/scrapped from other products (and the full-bridge rectifier and 7805 are tried and true technologies), but knowledge is what transforms economies... ULiTv:I rate it highly for the skills demonstrated. |
Sofry sofry oh... our brothers in Ghana are better ballers than we are. Enh, I talk am, make una argue with your phone abeg. If na mouth, we get that. But making mouth is not what wins games. |
The client likely bought the house as an investment. It also happens to be a convenient place to put the side chick for weekly chopping. If she misbehaves, she's out. After a few years, the house appreciates in value, and money was not spent on hotels for rendezvous. |
When I predicted that countries might start accepting yuan for oil, people said I was smoking *ish*... OK una don dey see ba? |
yinkeys:It's not the warfare itself that's the problem, it's the threat of nuclear strikes on large populations. Sure, you can wipe them out too, but the damage would already have been done. But what do we know... it's a lousy time for another world war, so I pray all parties would just be calming down |
Something makes me wonder if Putin was diagnosed with some kind of terminal illness, and now he's like "ef it, they can tribunal me all they want, I won't be around anyways"... Just wondering |
TechDigital:Political appointees are just that: political delegates of the politician, and end with a governor's term. As the circular notes, tenured appointments (what we call perm secs) and other staff retain their appointments. If it makes you feel better, members in the US federal cabinet leave with the outgoing president. |
lemme just tip toe out of this topic before armchair foreign policy experts unleash their frustration on me, abeg. Na friday night |
It's like I'm going to move to Ghana... ![]() Everyday some new bull in this con3 |
Sanchez01:1. what stops the local agents from selling on to the foreigner agents? 2. what stops any other local agent from making an insane profit of N35 per produce? 3. do foreigners command that price just because they are foreigners (and thus have better access to export markets?) 4. why isn't the market refusing to buy at that price? perhaps they are wary of dubious local agents? 5. local buyers with enough money can have the same knock on price effects you talked about - I don't think it's because they are foreigners. If the claim is some agents are monopolizing the market and thus controlling prices unfairly, there's a lawsuit the gov't can bring on them. To me, it's the same mindset that produced the current situation of not being able to receive money in Naira on remittances. Some people seem to see the logic in it, but I remain baffled as how that solves anything. Unless perhaps it forces local agents to up their game in exporting and commanding prices. Hopeful, but doubtful. |
How come police doesn't arrest the mob for murder? This jungle crap has got to stop ![]() |
More like "International Bleachers Day". ![]() |
OP, you know we're not supposed to eat carnivores, right? But why kill a nursing animal? Now all the kittens are as good as dead. Hunger dey land. |
Wow... I hope all these people keep the same energy when US goes invading other countries in the "war on terror". Or when France puts boots on Francophone countries and interferes in various political spheres. Oh I forgot, if it happens in a brown country, nobody gives a hoot. Not a fan of Russia's actions, but this is just some selective bullcrap. Russians have been protesting against the war, so why punish all of them? |
Nice one, make she sha no forget say: "the broom dem use chase first wife, dey wait the next one". ![]() |
WibusJaga: DMerciful:You're quite right. I just hope this same government and safety crew will keep that same energy when politicians start sharing kerosine and petrol in a few months to elections... But why harass the owner of the venue? If you want to harass somebody should it not be the person distributing the fuel? |
give new perspective to "I bent her over preparing to do my duty, and seen ma n*gga Quik's name on her booty" ![]() |
When people were free to protest... |
KingEverest:For me, the critical thing seems that Russian soldiers do not want to fight this war. They don't view it as just. It's not a planning or logistics problem, as much as it's people actively sabotaging the effort: food and supplies not being sent, deliberate punching holes in petrol tanks, etc. If they thought it was justified, they'd be on it quick. This is not lack of capability, it's lack of will. However, this smells more like propaganda by West than anything else, so let's see... |
WibusJaga:We should be telling young ones to save the money and use it to build house; invest it for school fees, and so on. A happy married life is a once-in-a-lifetime event. It just so happens to take the rest of your life. My wedding was also low-key. Family and some close friends. Nothing wrong with celebrating a one-day event, but nothing wrong with celebrating a life-long event either. |
RIP. 71 is still young. I lost two uncles recently, who didn't reach 55. People, try to enjoy your life while you have it. Nobody is promised tomorrow. |
Hadone:This is not how you prosecute things. I'm not defending crime, but there is nothing in any law that says you have to have income to own a car. It can be a gift, inheritance, auction sale, compensation, etc. So far as the car is registered lawfully according to the FRSC, what concerns police with how the car was obtained? The proper point of investigation is not even during registration of the vehicle in the man's name: it's when the (allegedly) fraudulent funds were put into the man's account. TBH a real yahoo boy would a). not have gone to police for assistance, or b). would have paid off police by now to hush things. I was expecting to see Benz or even recent Lexus. But Hyundai? That's the new bar for police harrassment huh? Next, they will be stopping youths who have earned their keke or bus on hire purchase. Oh they're already dong this and collecting their share. Or how about our youths with laptop? I almost lost my composure one day when police was grilling me on why I had a laptop. In this 21st century. This is a very dangerous thing police are doing - and the result is always the same: not to solve crime, but to line their own pockets. Imagine: I was carrying a generator in my car and police stopped me to query for the receipt. After 30 minutes of cool headed back-and-forth, their leader eventually said: "even if na tif you tif am, just pay us something and go." Kingpin1000:Obviously, our law enforcement have not pinned crimes on you before. Just because one is accused and arrested in Nigeria, does not mean they did anything wrong. |
So we should be comparing different types of mistreatment? South Africa did it and we complained, calling it Xenophobia. Ukraine and Poland are doing their own, and we're complaining, calling Racism. Should we just keep quiet because South Africans misbehaved? |
