A well managed Nigeria would be happy to see oil prices rise. It's such an irony that no matter what happens with oil prices, Nigerians still suffer. |
To those complaining: please start your own media companies. It's not called history (HIS story) for nothing. ![]() Let the media of brown and black people tell their own story to the Western audience, instead of always complaining that it's one sided. You think media in brown and black countries tell the news objectively? When their own governments would censor them into oblivion? |
ManirBK:Country that cannot even keep its own regions safe from BH, kidnappers, and ungun knowmen... mtchew ![]() |
Again thanking God. Not the seatbelt, airbags and crumple zones in the car. Not guardrails designed to collapse while absorbing momentum. No thanks for the good roads or good brakes that slowed down the impact a bit. No thanks to emergency and towing services, and for all the people who work hard to make driving safer, in spite of careless drivers. We are happy you're alive, but keep in mind God would have been perfectly fine if there were no guard rails or airbags and you kpeme today or in 50 years. He just doesn't care. |
What, no python dance? No forcing them to swim in mud? No extra-judicial killing? Well, I suppose some people need Northern votes so every one must count, even foreigners and bandits. |
If I was twitter, I would just wait till after May 2023. |
This our president sef... if Lagos wanted to it could fund the damn expressway by itself. Between Lagos Ogun and Oyo, they could have paid for the expressway if FG would only get out of the way. It's OK sha... let him come and be going. The "saviour of Nigeria" has come and failed woefully. At least I don't have to hear "if only Buhari was president" for the rest of my life. |
Trajan:How do you plan for your child to get re-admitted into Nigeria without a Nigerian passport? (I'm assuming it's a round trip). Technically he would need a visitors visa to be admitted into Nigeria with his UK passport. Since he's a minor, there's going to be complications around parental accent to travel, etc. Please secure a Nigerian passport so you don't leave the trip up to the discretion of an immigration officer. |
Nellsworld:I'm afraid you're right. I looked it up, and the Constitution 42(1) says: 42. (1) A citizen of Nigeria of a particular community, ethnic group, place of origin, sex, religion or political opinion shall not, by reason only that he is such a person:-So far so good, however, the same section appears to empower the Police Forces to impose restrictions on its members - which though may be in conflict with non-discrimination - is allowed. (3) Nothing in subsection (1) of this section shall invalidate any law by reason only that the law imposes restrictions with respect to the appointment of any person to any office under the State or as a member of the armed forces of the Federation or member of the Nigeria Police Forces or to an office in the service of a body, corporate established directly by any law in force in Nigeria. Is it fair? No. Is it Contitutional? Yes. So therefore, you're right, this one pass Supreme Court. http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm |
So sayeth one of the great destabilizers of Nigeria: from his role in the civil war, to open disobedience to his president Shagari, to his own coup, to his more recent body language. |
If you leave, 1. Your business is finished. Let's not sugarcoat it. 2. Your properties. Finished. "Trusted person"? Hah. 3. Do you have a professional skill that will get you a good job? 4. If no, well, na security, cleaner, or cook job. Be prepared. 5. Your children will lose their "Nigerianness", and become British. be prepared. 6. In ten years, your mates who remain here will visit UK at their leisure... you will travel to Naija 1 every 2-3 years, if at all. Somebody suggested sending the family abroad while you remain here... a possibility, but it will strain your family to no end. Your wife will have zero support from friends and family to raise kids, unlike here were there are smaller sisters or cousins that can help out - while in turn you provide them a place to stay and financial support. You and your family will pay a price for that safety and opportunity you're looking for, but only you can decide if it's worth it at the end. |
Well, this needs to get to Supreme Court, because Section 127 which "recommended dismissal for any woman who becomes pregnant without a legal husband" needs to be removed. This is Unconstitutional because it discriminates on a person on basis of gender. |
Zoharariel:But why would you say this... "no Igbo man will rule Nigeria"? This is unkind at best. Furthermore has anyone stopped to reason why the wife is always threatening with divorce? As a dispassionate third party, I would like to understand what the husband did to warrant this attitude from the wife. Women don't threaten divorce when they are happy with their husband. |
Redcrafton:I'm from SS, so you can't dismiss my answer because you assume I'm from SW. They bring the buying power to purchase all these things that are being brought to the table by others. And how do Yorubas earn this buying power? By offering services and working in jobs that may not be visible to you. I mean, they can't just sit at home and collect the salary they use to buy those goods, am I right? And your second question "what do you do in other regions" can be answered with: when those other regions become as urbanized as the SW, maybe people will move there. Why would someone go all the way to Abia or Sokoto when they can find the work they need in Lagos or Ibadan? Conversely, people leave Abia and Sokoto because they can't find work in their own states. But you can't really be serious: Lagos is a huge melting pot where easily 1/4 of its residents are not from SW. Those people also eat produce from other regions. |
I hope they will provide refrigerated trucks and have budgeted for buying them and maintaining them. The governor will be disappointed to realize that meat does not do well travelling in the hot sun for 2-3 days. Beef no be onions. The costs of these trucks will - at least for a decade - be way more than any revenue per head he's planning to get. But at least the thinking is in the right direction. |
Na who dem catch be thief. From IG on down, all of them don chop. A cop collecting egunge at checkpoint, will still collecting payment at higher levels as they're promoted. We're only hearing about Kyari because maybe he didn't settle some people. Abeg shift. |
I saw the names, I was like, since when was Ezinne a boy name? Then I was like, "ooooh I see, let me come and be going..." |
Datboredberry:I'm a guy but I endorse this post. See slamming. ![]() |

I still love u though ![]() |
Nigeria, import capital of the world. If oyinbo had not discovered oil, or built extraction platforms, we'll likely be a poor as Mali or Niger. Na agbaya we be, I swear. Let's see what happens when oyinbo no longer needs our oil. |
Tokskob2008:It's sad, and I wouldn't be so callous to dismiss his suicide. We don't know how close people are to the edge. This man must have suffered greatly to get to this point. One's only means of survival, work so hard from 4am-8pm for years only to feed agberos, government officials, task force; and now where will he get money to remove the vehicle from impound. One will work his fingers to the bone, only to have enough to eat beans once a day. One will be sick from the stress, at constant risk of getting killed by kidnappers or police. It could be the hire-purchase owner no wan hear story. Or he's owing people at the end of the month who don't take "please be patient" for an answer. To some: so what's the point of living? Life is already a living hell, so why keep struggling just to eventually die anyway? A prayer for his soul, and for those he left behind. I also pray this will be a turning point in some hardened officials. |
WhatCanIsay:You have spoken the unfortunate truth that is Nigeria police. We need to be our own protectors in this country. |
JSS3? Na wao. This is getting too much na. When I was in JSS3 only thing concern me was getting home to play football with my neighbours and watch Voltron. If ice juice dey, na bonus. |
No worries, he'll just steal all that back if he should get elected. Money for good roads or hospitals... this petrol is a nice little investment that will payoff over the next four years ![]() |
TheStakeHolder:Which village girls? The ones wey dey collect 500 and indomie? Abi na the ones wey go run go city for weekend? Then when you come around you will see them acting shy? |
You sha know sey rent, transport, feeding, plus tax will swallow that 70k. All that stress, and nothing to show for it Lagos is full abeg. |
Dsalvo:Just like NIN has provided more effective solutions for Nigerians bah? Oga, this is just another avenue for civil servants and police to chop. Plus the ogas will have their own share from the budget allocated to ID scheme. |
A party is free to hold its primaries any way it chooses. The Constitution does not mandate how they choose the people they want to present to the ballot. I don't remember him making any noise when PDP was zoning in his favor last time. |
Chai!!! Wetin all my ogberagas go take do valentine now? EFCC just reduced Asaba economy by 20% ![]() Hotels go feel am, clubs and olosho go feel am, even mam put go feel am. |
Bobloco:I'm not from Anambra, but I concur heartily. This incoming governor is the fresh air that we need. I pray he continues in this fashion, working solely for the good of Anambrans, and that they will continue to support him. I hope the momentum continues and he won't get bogged down too much by politics. |
