Thank you, amebo... GEJ was more than 5 years ago. Please let's face front and query the current leader why he has failed the people. Not defending past actions, but dammit, at a point people need to be held accountable, irrespective of the actions of past actors. |
I'm a computer scientist and had the opportunity to work using the NextStep OS back in the day (it's the company Steve Jobs started after leaving Apple, that formed the basis of OS X upon his return). For those interested you can see remnants of this heritage in things like the Dock, APIs like NSTextView, the ObjectiveC programming language, and the iPhone. I always found that journey particularly inspirational, and it reminds me to take the "nextstep" in everything I do and look towards the future. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXTSTEP |
Benwallt:It's the 4-level structure behind the main building. You can see parts of it on the right side... it's more obvious in the night picture. |
Nice edifice. I'm glad to see development spreading around. But come oh... the money used for this building... could have been better invested in SME. Not to mention that the building materials are likely not "Nigerian content". If they are not doing, we will complain. When they do we sha still complain about how they did it. ![]() |
Watch the haters come and dabaru this thread. Instead of just appreciating nice things. It looks so serene, and I know I would enjoying in this kind of environment. But instead of just smiling and admiring, some people want to drag down houses that they can never build in their own life time. Use these videos to propel you to succeed... not wallow in petty jealousness. |
Made4naijaceo:Yes. They are jobless. ![]() They decided to vote of their own free will... and others are free to not support, also based on free will |
rdokoye:Don't mind the naysayers... people are quietly doing things, without making noise. Are we where we want to be? Not yet. But they better believe we are improving on a daily basis. Nevertheless, I don't approve of all the regional bashing, and would rather we just concentrate on building and improving. We need continuous investments in all regions (which is happening), so that we're not all crammed into Lagos to look for opportunity. Let FDI go to where it's needed and useful, and let internal investment go where it's needed. |
Righteousness89:Na wah oh... so your King of Kings and his father created all these horrible creatures, for what? So they can torture Man, their greatest creation? Why? Because some of them used their own independent minds (which is God given) to not worship him? Why go through all that trouble in the first place? |
Horlami247:You may be right, but consider: Nigerians who make it here can travel abroad every 2, 3 months (albeit dealing with no light, etc, which you can overcome with money) Nigerians living in USA are lucky to travel abroad every 2 years. Though they're comfortable, theirs is a life of debts, bills, and taxes. I kinda prefer the first option, and the money I would have spent to go and start living abroad could be put to so much better use here. |
To be frank... I will request that they give me the money instead. There's a lot of promise here, given the right funds. After 5 years, I can travel to any country of my choice, every year. But seriously, the US remains one of the best places to be: with the right setup, you can make it most easily in the US. |
Na wah oh... so if I had $50,000 I will still be looking for work? I be mumu? |
Fame loading... so husband want to participate in the blessings. |
Before! Please tell us something we don't know ![]() |
fastseo: Kekereekun123:Please tell them... Ironically it's more (arguably) religious/conservative countries that abandon common sense that have seen the worst China cases/deaths: 84,668 and 4,634 (even if we x10 to allow for underreporting, deaths don't exceed 40,000). USA, with 1/3 the population: 5million cases, 162,000 deaths. Not a fan of the diseases originating in China, but they appear able to deal much better than many other countries. |
IfGodbeforus:What of those of us who believe in different saviours/messengers, or those who would rather not believe in imaginary beings? Any salvation for those... or it's just for the select few who happened to have picked (or indoctrinated at birth by) the "correct" religion out of a multitude? There have been many documented plagues over the past 3000 years, with attendant diseases, etc... every generation apparently is end time. Sorry I could not resist. Flame away. ![]() |
These guys sef |
First off, she's not lesbian, since she's with you (a guy I'm presuming). In other words she's bi. Second, no matter the orientation, once you're committed to a person, you're supposed to be committed: as in no away match with any other person, regardless of gender or orientation. The real question appears to: I suspect my girlfriend wants to play away match. Who she wants to play with is irrelevant. Think of this question: "I'm scared my girlfriend is straight". Does that mean anything? Not really, in and of itself. Now back to your original: "I'm scared my girlfriend is gay". Also doesn't mean anything at face value. If you don't want to deal with a girl who swings both ways, then don't. But I don't think it's any different from dealing with a girl who has history with other men. |
I'd say nice job, but they're just spreading their incompetency around... Let them do an excellent with their current operations first. But nice one sha... no be beans to own a billion dollar bank |
Unnerve:As in ehn... real tortoise... |
So nobody remembers BBNaija I in 2006... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PXVidaN9Rk We're always quick to laugh at up and comers, forgetting our own humble backgrounds. Sometimes we even laugh while they develop past us. (e.g. we used to laugh at China, India, Korea). |
Valoa432:Then explain the need for anointing oil, biscuit, wine (grape juice), rosaries, crucifixes, clasping of hand and closing of eyes, crossing of one's self, sowing of seed, and the other myriad rituals of Christianity. Humans like rituals period. Don't diss one type for another. |
Omooba77:All these and you forgot the representatives of the oldest profession... our stress reliever association, coded ones and church goers ![]() |
And that's how some ladies pass by their destiny... pride ehn... ![]() |
Fine by me... who's traveling? Airlines can't afford to keep pilots and engineers on staff because people are not flying as much. I suppose they want the airlines to go bankrupt then everybody will lose their jobs. Very anyhow people. Pilots are highly paid and should have been putting something away for rainy day. |
Protest is one thing... seeking revolution is another. I support the brave men and women risking arrest and worse, but this is doomed to fail. Revolutions are violent affairs, and technically Unconstitutional, so I can't fault any government for clamping down. If youths want to change government, there is a legal, orderly way to do so every four years. Sowore and co should be strategizing and mobilizing to engage youths in order to nominate and vote for better candidates in 2023. They should take lessons from BBNaija... those guys have figured how to make youths donate nearly 400million Naira to that show. Not to say revolution doesn't have it's place - it ushered in the US, modern France, Japan, Korea, etc, but people have to realize that millions will die in Nigeria if a revolution was to happen. If we can't solve the issue of bad governance by choosing good leaders today, we won't solve it by killing innocents, and still choosing bad leaders. The military era was started ostensibly with good intentions to "rid Nigeria of incompetent and corrupt politicians", but we all know how that went. |
coldsummer:When Nigerians start voting for right thinking people. |
ODI444:I heard the same talk for 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019... and now for 2023. It's really not by talking, it's by doing. Our same Igbo leadership who are blowing hot now will soon be given some compensation (position or cash) that has always evaporated any anger they display. What we need to do is convince Atiku to leave the presidency for someone like Peter Obi in PDP, because I can almost guarantee that APC will float a SW person (Tinubu might make a run for it, if not Osinbajo). |
1. This is just talk. I don't know who's paying who to say these things, but watch any bravado evaporate by 2022 2. It's up to the individual Igbo man/woman to campaign hard enough to be nominated by their party. 3. It's up to them to also be the kind of person people will support and vote for. 4. Whining about "it's my turn" is not how to be nominated... you have to be politically astute. 5. You have to show the king makers why it's in their interest for you to be nominated. I mean, to be frank it took Buhari FOUR tries to be elected... and that was because he convinced four different parties to nominate him, and had enough "Anti-corruption halo" to trick the people. Let the Igbo person that would be president play their cards right, make the right political moves, and work as hard as Buhari did. I would love to see an Igbo president, and am hoping someone like Peter Obi would seriously up his political game. |
EliteBiz:Immovable and flat Earth? I really have a hard time understanding flat-earthers. Even the Church (presumably the best interpreter of the Bible) came around to understanding that the world is not flat (disc or square) - All the large bodies in space are ellipsoids: stars, planets, moons... yet Earth is the only flat one? Gravity pulls everything together, and the most natural shape is a sphere. Just like water in free fall (a water drop is held together by tension in all directions, and is decidedly not flat) - there are TWO points on earth where it's either constantly dark, or constantly light (the poles, depending on season), like every other observable planet and moon. This cannot be achieved with a flat planet. - likewise flat earth would imply you should always be able to see the moon... it should not sink below the horizon. - there are satellites rotating around this "flat earth" like moons, giving you internet and gps... hard to keep things in orbit over a flat surface. - the curvature of Earth is noticeable from the visibility of the windmills in the first picture. All the windmills are at shore level, yet the ones in the back appear lower. If they were indeed lower, they would be submerged in water (since the ocean would fill up anything below sea level) - finally, planes routinely fly over or close to the poles because the distance from (e.g.) New York to Tokyo is shorter over the Arctic than along a meridian. In addition, if they kept flying in the same direction, they'd eventually arrive at their departing point again. A flat earth suggests that planes will eventually bump against the "end of the world" and have to turn back. Please, there are serious things being done to advance human civilization and it really does a disservice to the truth when people willfully hold on to archaic understanding.
|
ceaser:I imagine this was the "get it done using tried and true technology". It takes quite a lot to make an orbital vehicle that glides and lands like a plane, and this method reduced risk, weight, and increased chances of success. I'd be surprised if they didn't have a lander in the works already. They had already demonstrated boosters that land vertically (as opposed to splashing in the sea), so there's got to be ongoing work to extend that to orbital vehicles (though it would increase launching weight, with all the attendant costs and risks) |
Welcome home. These people are living in the 21st century. Elon Musk envisioned reusable rockets and private manned flights into space. Here in Nigeria, we're still figuring out steady light (technology from 1879), city-provided water supply (from 1804), and still struggling with malaria (conquered by most countries by 1960s). |
Pastors should give space to those who can solve problems in this world. God has given humans brains to solve problems. It must be quite irritating for God to keep getting "underserved blessing and healing" prayers from people who refuse to use the brains and resources he has given them. |
