Good catch, but police, please also remember, just because somebody is using laptop does not mean they're into yahoo. My Delta state police: once they see laptop, their eyes light up because they think funds dey ![]() That's how one said to me: "even if na thief you thief am... sha just drop something and you can go" Imagine! |
So beauriful... Being a dad is not easy man... |
Are you serious!?!? As I suspected, he has been reported alive and getting better. Fake new sef! One day somebody should give these bloggers fake alert of 1M deposit ![]() Then remove it after a few hours. |
Oh goodness... people no dey fear to kill each other again? Upon say na your girlfriend? Haba But the stories being reported don't add up? Since when girls (lesbian or not) kill each other for sleeping with a man? Or because the mother said something? There's more to this than we're reading... Reminds me of two girls I know from a few years ago... they were squatting with me until they got their feet, but the way they would quarrel and joke with each other seemed more than friends. In fact, one time, the stud was so angry she beat her femme so bad we had to go and get medicine. It was much later I realized they were lovers. Dem plenty for Asaba. |
So... FG can't tackle bandits, but will happily arrest harmless protesters. It's like everybody should start owning their own guns... |
Megacity indeed. More like megaslum with some fancy buildings ![]() No abuse me oh... na joke oh! Here in Asaba we can't drive due to the swimming pools we call roads. Na to trek with shorts ![]() |
Happy birthday mama... I miss the movies of those days... nostalgia |
Indeed, and it will be just as successful as the privatization of power ![]() |
Hopefully people like him will be brought to book |
Any promise from officials in Nigeria is just audio jare |
RIP to the departed, and quick recovery to the injured. Did the command post have a properly-grounded lightning arrestor in place? |
Kriss216: michoim: deji17:This is a dangerous line of thought, in my opinion: if we don't support other protesters, who will support us when it's our turn to protest (and be arrested)? It should not matter if they were paid, or PDP members or whatever. People are protesting insecurity and banditry. These will only spread as time goes on, until we settle back into the horror of 1990s. One may not agree with their protests, but we should all support our right to protest. On what basis was the leader of a peaceful protest arrested? Will they say he violated covid19 restrictions? On the other hand, boko bandits that openly rebelled against Nigeria are being "rehabilitated" simonlee:Well said... we need to put aside political or state-of-origin sentiments because bandits don't go around asking for ID or voters card before killing. Like the BH problem, if gov't fails to listen to citizens, it will find another monster on its hands. |
This one that the weather is getting cold... with catarrh everywhere... |
Please also US should use their tools to investigate their own citizens. USA remains the #1 hot spot for fraud.... $1.9billion in 2019 alone: https://www.aarp.org/money/scams-fraud/info-2020/ftc-fraud-complaints-rise.html Let that sink in. Oyinbos - living in a rich country with all services provided - are defrauding each other to the tune of 1.9 billion dollars. Yet it's the small small naija criminals that make the headlines. Where are the articles and statements from the Secretary about home-grown forgery, grand larceny, Ponzi schemes, as well as misdeeds in its own banking and investment sectors? |
APC or PDP ... no difference. People on this board will be shouting PDP stole and ruined the country; others will shout defending them. Some will abuse APC, etc. All the while politicians are crossing carpets and making friends, while sharing national cake irrespective of party affiliation. In spite of all the audio acrimony, they will still go to their childrens' weddings and send their children abroad to the same schools. |
When we said we wanted a person who actually has run large businesses, and understands how economies work, we were booed. They said they didn't want a smart man who (allegedly stole), but a mouthpiece who (allegedly) did not steal. Buhari reminds me of the parable of the talents: "The first and the second servants explain that they each put their talents to work, and have doubled the value of the property with which they were entrusted; each servant was rewarded. The third servant, however, had merely hidden his talent, burying it in the ground, and was punished by his master" This is the third time (I'm including military rule) Buhari was put in charge of Nigeria's affairs... by now we should know better. |
oluwasegun007:Na bros... I love my woman no mean say I will put hand for fire. After all, if she loves me as she claims, she won't put all these burdens only on me, and will work hard to share the load... she went to school too abi? These are not the 1920s where women were denied opportunity for education and employment. Let her love me enough to provide for her family. |
The guy spend more than half a million on wedding list... things that the family will chop and clean mouth. Do they know that the guy probably had to borrow from friends and family to raise the funds, that he is managing to repay out of his salary. Half a million can do so much for a young family starting out, yet greedy bride's people just want to swallow somebody's hard earned money. Now they want him to contribute to the brother's wedding? Let that brother goan raise the funds just like they forced the husband. Upon that they will still ask for monthly stipend? I'm even angry at the father's lack of self respect that he has to turn into a pest because somebody married his daughter. ![]() My younger brothers: before you propose to a lady, first go and ask her parents how much is their wedding list. If it's outrageous, don't even bother proposing to the girl again. Waka go. |
It's already been said, but I'll paraphrase: go for the government house job. While there, be wise and try to be indispensable to your SA. Don't start trying to over shine them tho... BTW how much is the govt job paying you, and how much are you paying for accommodation (and transport to your current job) now? |
SarkinYarki:No it shouldn't. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions". 2 4-year terms (8 years) for an executive is the best thing for a country long term; the knowledge that there will be a reckoning within 8 years often encourages leaders to do right. Human history worldwide has taught us that. Let Buhari put forward another person he trusts will continue his policies, and can even advise after he leaves office. It's up to the Nigerian people to pick who they want to repair things for each four year term. |
ValCon888:This is the most profoundly clever post I've read on here in a while. There's always a pawn from the East isn't there. Grand master chess players, the Northern leadership are. I have to admire them for it. |
SarkinYarki:Two terms are enough. No PDP president served more than 2 terms. Let another APC person run for president (and if they can earn their own two terms, good for them). Term limits on the executive (president and governors) is a way to make sure we don't end up with emperors who turn the country into their own personal fiefdom. If other politicians and institutions know that a person can be executive for at most 8 years, there's a better balance of power that ultimately benefits the citizens. In our history, no leader has completed more than 2 4-year terms as head of state. The longest we've had are Gowon ( 8 years, 362 days), and Babangida (7 years, 364 days). However I will note that according to article 136 (c), a person could theoretically serve 3 terms; the limitation is a person can only be elected twice. In other words, if a person was vice-president, and the president died 1 day into office, they can serve out 4 years (minus 1 day) of the predecessor, then be elected twice to that office on their own merit. One could call that 3 terms, but it would still be Constitutional. |
Tell her to erase her browser history (she can just clear out the last hour) then you won't be bothered by what she's seeing again. ![]() What is there to say about sex education?: - it's natural - use condoms to minimize STDs and pregnancy - boys claiming "loving you" usually japa if you get pregnant - life is unfairly difficult for young (single) mothers - if you like girls, that's also natural |
So someone will spend 1 hour getting to airport; 3 hours waiting at airport; 45 minute flight; when they get to Lagos it will take another 45 minutes to exit airport, then 2 hours to Lekki? That's nearing 8 hours! We might as well start driving. |
OP, first, take a look around you and find out who is using their "animal science" degree in their current job. Apart from a few veterinarian hospitals here and there, and some exotic animal husbandry (usually part of research), I don't think there's much demand for that stuff here. And the larger problem of course is - very few people in this country are doing what they spent all that time and money studying for... What we really need at this stage (and you too), is to make things. Can you go into the engineering of animal husbandry products? |
Let me be the first to say: "den don enter am". In this current climate. The drama just started. Hope our pro-bono lawyers are going to take up her case ![]() |
OBelz:You're a cutter huh? No problem ValCon888:Even sef, being on period has never once stopped the action from going down in my playbook! Go shower... I will even join you. Did you know that sex during period eases cramps and makes you more relaxed? ![]() That said, if she no wan do, she no wan do, so I've never had a girl had to invent stories for me. Just say no, and I stop. I've always been a gentleman. |
Well, the verb "visit" means you are going to someone else's house. Emphasis on "else's house". Girlfriend should call or otherwise inform her boyfriend that she is coming for a visit. I don't like unannounced visits... I may have my friends over, might want to concentrate on work/school, or some other thing, and your impromptu visit is (for me) an invasion of my peace and space. |
QweenM:They invest customers' deposit into business opportunities, and the profits from that are split 70:30% (30% to customer, bank keeps 70% for operations, etc). I don't fully understand how that is different from loaning out money and charging interest, but there you are. A [consumer?] loan with the goal of charging interest does not appear legal (under the code of Islamic banking), but nothing precludes banks from pooling together monies to invest in businesses, making a profit from it, then sharing the proceeds among the investors. |
In an unprecedented move, the US House of Representatives, led by Speaker Pelosi, knelt of nearly 9 minutes in silence, honoring and recognizing the unfortunate martyrdom of George Floyd. Symbolically, most of them wore kente sashes/stoles, signifying their solidarity with the Black community worldwide. In addition, several cities and members of the Democrat leadership plan to introduce sweeping police reform bills, with Minneapolis pledging to dismantle its police department. Nancy Pelosi - The "martyrdom" of George Floyd will spark changes in policing. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52969375 In addition to protests across America, there have been messages of solidarity and protest from Nigeria, UK, Korea, Japan, Australia, among others. I sincerely hope all the protests across the world results in serious changes that will reduce racist behavior - especially among Americans to others of color. lalasticlala Dominique Mynd44 Semid4lyfe

Sixfeetbelle:No problem with gifts, random surprises, etc. But we (boys and girls) went to school and (for the most part) have the same opportunities for work. Why did we insist in fairness in education and the worksplace, only to insist on unfairness in relationships and home keeping? I hope as your guy spends money "to show commitment, care and generosity, etc.", you reciprocate and spend money to show your care and generosity - ideally in the same magnitude. |
Greenbullet:I'm late to this party but my God man... this is 2020... women who went to secondary school, university - the same as me - should be capable of taking care of themselves, and being providers. I mean, this is not 1920 when many women around the world were denied opportunities for higher education, and to work. The limitations on women's ability to earn and excel resulted in the expectations of the "man to take care of the household". We have strived to have fairness in education for both genders; are improving fairness in the job market... yet a man is still supposed to be responsible for somebody who society has trained to be a breadwinner in her own right. If a grown woman is not able to study hard, hustle and be able to take care of herself... why did she waste all that training? Furthermore, perhaps to your surprise, I find your reasoning disenfranchising to women, as well as paternalistic and downright chauvinistic: a woman is taken care of by her father, then sent off to husband; when that sucker dies, her son(s) assume responsibility for her... as if she's some kind of liability to be handed down from one male relative to another without any self-agency. Take her as your responsibility? Am I adopting a baby or something? Abeg, my wife and I both bring food to the table, and I don't want to hear about money for hair, or for shoe.. she buys that her by herself. Yes, I buy her things (as gifts), not as a basic necessity. A woman who's busy evaluating my ability to take care of her is wasting the tremendous opportunity to excel on her own. |
