Aghaclem67:I think you might have found one reason why Nigerians die of unexpected kidney failure or some other thing not easily explained by disease... Expired food/toxins don't kill right away... it takes a steady dose over a long period of time. Granted many foods are still edible, way past the "best by" or "expiration" date, but food does deteriorate and mutate over time. Why buy expired food, or let food expire in the first place? |
Good move. Give these people time to cool down, rethink and plan a better way to solve their issues. Can't be ruining the calm of 042 for everybody for selfish reasons. |
Small ONE goal win and we won't hear word. Our boys are the most inconsistent disorganized players, who apparently score by luck, not skill. Until we are able to win matches consistently and actually display skill (not theatrics), this is a hollow win. JastSiryin:That's exactly right... post analysis after a win makes these guys out to be geniuses, when they are mostly lucky. We need a solid team of consistent, high-performers with dependable skill. |
Hopefully we won't have another news that it was somebody else's house she's posting or that the CofO is fake ![]() Congrats to her sha... it's not easy... even if na kpekus, odiro easy. |
In the richest country in the world, people still stop to steal free money. One would have thought they'd have no need for such... interesting... Goes to show that any small thing, Americans will lose their senses. I can't imagine this happening in Japan. Not one person will stoop so low. |
Fhemmmy:And I'm saying that some leaders are better than others. Under OBJ and Atiku, Nigeria got remarkably better, which was sustained somewhat during GEJ. Under PMB on the other hand, Nigeria got remarkably worse. All our leaders have faults, but I'm yet to find anything redeeming about Buhari. |
They should let baby rest... it's not every single moment that needs to be shared with the world. Can't people just disappear for 6 months and say: "we're enjoying our family private moments" |
Mk12:don't worry we will know whether it is atiku a billionaire or you who need sense when the time comes.
Abi now? I always love it when people with barely 10k in their bank account insist they know better than billionaires about money matters. |
We're back in the hands of people who don't understand basic money: if you borrow so much money that you only pay interest, you will eventually strangle your economy, especially when you don't make efforts to grow it. |
Gbengais:And you think she did it without polictical backing from President and other advisors? Sure she was instrumental in getting it done, but who nominated, appointed, approved, and supported her? It was a team effort, as these things are. The statement: “As someone who headed the National Economic Council that paid off Nigeria’s entire debt under the visionary leadership of President Olusegun Obasanjo"... is very very true. If they did not raise it as an issue, and pursue all avenues, it won't have happened, even with Okonjo-Iweala's brains and influence with the neo-imperialists agencies (IMF and World Bank). |
Fhemmmy:The freedoms of press; civil liberties; marked improvement in human rights and democratic practice; the mobile phone revolution; banking modernization/strengthening; rapid economic expansion; debt relief; man infrastructural improvements were initiated during this time. Buhari has not improved any of these measures, and in fact, has retrogressed in most. Sure, people complained during OBJ, YRD, and GEJ, but there's is a definite bite of suffering and hunger in the land under PMB. Even upon that Atiku allegedly stole money (which is yet to be proven by the APC in a court of law), life was way way better. |
At least PMB is consistent: 1983 - sufferhead 2015 - hardship 2019 - next level |
Buhari should heed calls for releasing the guy before another BH is formed. That's how the first one started. |
popelix:It's the Republic of Benin, BTW... not sure why you think it's Edo. justino57:Lol, Europeans and their prayers. Don't they close their eyes and pray for victory too? Sometimes even crossing themselves before match. Damentia:Yes, preparation, practice and hardwork beats prayers... I wish more Nigerians will remember this next time they're praying fervently for underserved favor. |
KidsNEXTdoor:Welp, apparently enough Nigerians voted for him even after the first 4 years of non-performance. No sense complaining about a fait-accompli, but at least this is his final term. I just hope we apply small sense in the next elections. |
HigherEd:You said everything I wanted to say. Nobody who voted for Buhari should complain at all... the poor track record was already there, yet people said: "let's give him more time"... [to ruin us further?] |
... and yet people voted for him again abi. I'm not entertaining any explanations or apologies. Let those states that voted for Buhari give land for RUGA. ![]() |
babyfaceafrica:I just realized that Nigeria was never great. It had the illusion of greatness back then, but was still coasting on the efforts of the colonial administration. Everything was made abroad and imported (albeit some knock down parts and assembly), but no real manufacturing to speak of. Can't be "great" if other countries make pretty much everything we consume (our machines, our weapons, our cooking appliances, our pencil and paper, the cement we used to import, and in many cases the food we eat). There's nothing great in having somebody else invent machines to pump Oil from our land, bring and operate those same machines, and give us some small change so we can turn around and buy other things they invented. Nigeria, never being great in the first place, had started on its trajectory towards mediocrity in 1966: young leaders with no clue or experience at government nor economics wrestled power illegitimately and proceeded to do so much worse than the politicians they condemned. |
EFCC harassing small small bois. Let them convict the top politicians then we'll know that they are serious: politicians threw the country into such a mess; and now they are the ones making EFCC go after yahoo boys, while they buy properties abroad and fund their children's education with stolen funds. But Buhari why? Mr hmh-integrity can endorse Ganduje for second term despite video evidence, overlook Babachir's grass cutting scam, ignore Tinubu's bullion vans, but won't let small boys provide for their families with a few scraps. Even mechanic and olosho are losing business because of this crackdown by EFCC. I'm not endorsing anything or anybody, I'm just wondering why we're worrying about cockroach when there's a viper in our backyard. The day active senators and governors are jailed long term for corruption is the day Nigeria will take a turn for better. |
These small small artists have no concept of putting in work, building relationships, paying your dues, and long-term-vision. Just like a lot of young employees these days want to get company car and allowance a few weeks after working. Nobody has patience to work hard, allow his boss to eat, so that in time he too will eat. They allow themselves to get seduced by others who are also just looking for their own meal, and think they will blow without grinding and sacrificing. Olamide will still continue to blow, yet some of these young ones going to start their own label will still be looking for their big break. |

Sarang:OK, let's be fair and say over a 2-year period. How many people with regular jobs in Canada have 4M saved up (as in net worth, no debt)? Yes, they make this in months, but the point is cash saved up without debt obligations or bills siphoning all of it away. Nigeria is not easy that's for sure, and as somebody pointed out: money does not guarantee safety or comfort. However, I feel if one is able to save up 4M in this Buhari era, especially as a young person, then they have enough drive to succeed here, and should not waste their talents going to Canada where they will likely (like most before them) become debt slaves, working to pay interest and bills. The people who are able to travel all over the place are mostly entrepreneurs and well-compensated employees who have made it here in Nigeria. How many Nigerians in Canada are able to travel internationally on a regular basis? The ones we see barely scratch together $3,000 for tickets and some flexing, and still have debts that they should have paid instead of traveling. I will definitely admit that life abroad is sane, calm, and much safer than the madness of here, and that seems the OP's goal. |
Lagos that gets flooded in the event of small rain... when tsunami comes, the whole metropolitan area (from Ikorodu down to Aja) will be one large lagoon. But at least the 100,000 blocks made from cement will make Dangote happy ![]() |
Thithi1:Can I sample one of your watches? I have a wedding to attend this weekend... ![]() |
Memphitz537:Somebody asked him on his IG. He jeje replied on his IG. How is that attention seeking? It was brought to Nairaland, modded, and put on front page by attention and traffic seeking posters and mods. But I agree wholeheartedly... you have to understand a person's behaviors, traits, attributes, health, even family history before marriage oh. Sexual compatibility is one of many areas you have to be sure of my broda, so you won't later come with "if only I had known"... |
It doesn't strike anyone as odd that he can raise 4M in Nigeria? Ask those in Canada, US, or UK if they've been able to save 4M - with no outstanding obligations like debt - in the time they've worked there. |
LearnITsmash:You lie... and you know it. ![]() |
InvertedHammer:This would make sense except when you take countries like India or Pakistan ... their native language is not English, they have hundreds of different languages and peoples, science is taught in English, they are also former British colonies, yet they are leaps and bounds ahead of Nigeria. |
otokx:You are so right! We focus on megachurches while China and other focus on mega airports, bridges, highways, and other industries. |
[b]This is a society that works. And a party couldn't do this for 16 years.
Like play like play APC will also have their turn for 16 years (we're on year 5 already, and nobody will say this country has been better in those 4+ years). Hopefully when both parties have proven how useless they really are, we can stop hearing, "if only" or "a party couldn't do this after N years". We're here being partisan, when politicians of all stripes are robbing us blind. Funny, with all the carpet criss-crossing, I can't tell who is APC vs PDP again. |
mindtricks:Don't wonder my brother... enough Nigerians wanted him to be president abi? How can people re-elect a failed performer then expect good results? |
