Too true... this one that kidnappers are taking people from their own houses. Shuuoo! They don't even wait to kidnap on the road again.

They should call it National Reset Service, for that is where they reset people's heads. Although a lot of prisoners correctioners come out more hardened.

All I see is somebody chopping contract money for repainting logo on cars, rebadging, etc.

Naah! I will tell him plain and simply that he's a "long throat" and is not satisfied with food cooked at home that he has to keep buying beans outside.

I will tell him that I pray it purges him and gives him food poisoning so that he will control his hunger for outside food.
Haba no need for all that. Since it might be a hassle to go out and buy it everytime, just buy a week's worth of beans and keep in freezer. Somebody knows what he likes and is asking for it (and I'm assuming it's part of the house budget)... why make him feel bad about it?

So me and my man been married for a year now but here's the thing he does that pisses me OFF!!! TOTALLY!!!! ehn, every time I cook rice and stew (fried stew/fish/meat) he'd ask me to go outside the estate to go and buy Ewa(beans) (I'm using Ewa because that's how he pronounces it. So I noticed this earlier and I started Cooking beans anytime I cook rice. He'll still request for 'Ewa' the Mama put beans made and sold by the roadside
So... just make sure you have Ewa in the house everyday from the place he likes. You have freezer abi? Buy one week supply, and warm it up upon request. No need for long stories or feeling bad. No need for prayers, consultations, or heart-to-heart talk. It's like making sure you have beer and small chops around. No biggie.

You asked for advice: here's some.
If you asked for debate or argument, eheh, we can have a debate.

Please. Don't compare an organized society where people spend their talents being useful, to a country where people squander their talents on being generator operators and water bearers.

Truth be told, every place has its dependency: if petrol/kerosine deliveries were made in Nigeria for two weeks, we will all kpeme, generator or not. How will all those imports - including food - be cleared from customs?

NaijaNaWaa:
Not long ago I witnessed a 15 minute power outage in USA. The shops hurriedly closed. Nwanyi Ocha is right, Oyibo people no sabi cope with hardship like us.
I'm not sure why people see that as some kind of condolence... it's like saying: "those people who lived before antibiotics were so strong". I don't think anybody would like to go to that era where you suffered endlessly from what are now easily-curable diseases. Sure we may laugh when they go nuts after 15 minutes, but it's sad that we here are so used to chaos and disorganization.

We the younger generation are still saying "yes sir", "sai baba" without realizing the older generation have been in charge for nearly 50 years (half century).

chigoziri2403:
They are the same thing
Just add red oil to white garri gives you red garri
They are not the same thing, though the main difference is adding palm oil, like you say. There are also slight process differences:

There's white garri (Ijebu and variants), which have little or no oil and often lime/lemon. Most times it has small granules and has had more of the starch washed out/pressed out during processing.

There's yellow garri which like you mention, contains palm oil. More often than not, it has larger granules, and contains more starch - some to the point it starts acting like lafun.

There's also garri produced from yellow cassava (relatively recent), but I'm not sure what to make of it... reminds me of sweet potato somehow.
I personally prefer white garri for sipping on.

NIGERIA: REDEFINING WICKEDNESS
• the only country in the world where those ‘elected’ in a supposed democracy to uphold law & order are themselves lawless bandits actively engaged in the disobedience of court orders unless a judgement favours them.
• Sowore, El-Zakzaky, Dasuki and yours truly are prime examples of executive lawlessness, judicial banditry and collective wickedness in the damned fraudulent British creation christened Nigeria.
With permission, I have taken the pleasure of reproducing an old tale about the Lion [Fulani cabal] and Tortoise [IPOB], which best captures the reality of life today in Nigeria. Only if the other animals will learn.

THE TALE

In amazement, the other animals asked tortoise "why" and he replied "if we allow him to eat the sheep today, he will still go hungry tomorrow and we don't know the next amongst us to be eaten tomorrow.
The Moral of this tale
*Don't support evil today because it doesn't affect you directly, tomorrow it could be your turn.
This is a very very good post and all of us will do well to remember this cautionary tale, and it's appropriateness for today's situations.

I thought PMB was going to call his boys to order. It's been almost 5 years na...

This country is something else... Igbos want to go their own way jejely because of violence against them, they get blown up, blockaded, and starved - and more recently, Python danced. Some Hausa/Fulani decide to violently recreate the country, and FG is treating them with kid gloves... for nearly 10 years.

Let this be a lesson - rather than talk - be well armed. FG and its soldiers are cowards and can only brutalize civilians.

This is a good development, we cannot condone immorality in our open space. Imagine the number of kids that would seen that gross show of shame
Yet these same police officers and "agents of morality" will - tonight - visit olosho, stripper joint, collect egunge, or harass some poor lady into sex because of their power. From lawmaker on down to law enforcer - I wonder why we're such hypocrites in this country.

This same Nigeria where robbers and misdemeanors are stripped nude in public and beaten by police is the same one where they want to use Tekno as scape goat.

I'm not condoning anything, but I wish more effort was made by police to stop harassing innocent Nigerians, than is being spent on this issue.

Northern leaders have for years taken imprisonment of southern activists as a passion, instead of restructuring the evil political structure and political process with constitution - all created by northern soldiers.

This man below, thank you for bringing out further the impossibility of continuation of one Nigeria .
Nah mate, the people who voted for him (including Sowore in 2015) against better judgement and past examples, are responsible. We need more people thrown in jail for talking poo about revolution or some such.

This is a good lesson for us all, so maybe then they will get sense in choosing real leaders in the future. GEJ and Atiku have their faults, so I'm hoping youths will vote for third party candidates next time, instead of the same mishmash of failures.

Abeg we don't need revolution or anything, food go too cost, innocents will die, and I won't be able to enjoy BBNaija in peace. tongue

Is Pat going to carry stick or gun? Or is it innocent jobless youths that soldiers will mow down? We asked people to use their heads in elections in 2015 and 2019, yet they refused, forgetting that all that glitters is not gold. And it's mostly the former ardent supporters of PMB (or haters of GEJ if you prefer) who are talking this sh1t. Those with sense don't give a sh1t.

My advise: wait 3.5 years, use your brains in the next elections, and stop making noise until then.

No public running water in 21st century for Christ sake. I experienced it in my childhood, in my youth, and now in my adulthood. When Fela sang in 1981 "na 1990, them go give us water", as a child I imagined it would be true. 1990 came and things were worse. This is 2019 and we have people still walking to go and fetch water. Everyone has sunk boreholes, can't really drink water out of the tap - that is if there was light to pump water.

He can always get a visa to Nigeria should he ever care to come visit, just like all those people with UK or US passports.

Yes oh I'm dull. I'm not the one in DSS custody for beating my chest ... wasn't Sowore one of many who extolled the virtues of Buhari back in 2014-2015, when the Ford Foundation was bankrolling him to publish news to ridicule and help bring down GEJ? They even went so far as to create a puppet series (Ogas at the Top) to brainwash people via social media. Wasn't he the one saying how Jonathan was the worst president we've ever experienced, and that Buhari was going to save Nigeria. After being "disappointed" with Buhari he's now decided he doesn't like the taste of the soup he helped make.

Abeg Sowore should have several seats and not ask people to join his misguided tirades. Him and that Kanu chap.

When has PMB followed court rulings? Going by precedent, Sowore is going to enjoy a few months in DSS custody, if not up to a year. People will make noise, but nobody will do anything, and Sowore will be forgotten for a while, so he can cool his heels. Since the path to presidency seems to involve jail, perhaps Sowore will become president yet. ;-)
