PoliticsRe: How Did Federal Government Intimidate Labour? by Ninapha(f): 2:11pm On Jan 17, 2012
@ninapha I agree with the PRINCIPLE of fuel subsidy removal (as long as a subsidy exists in the first place). Notice that no one talks about existing refineries; even NNPC sells at unsubsidized price lipsrsealed
Also, the crux of the matter is simple: I don't trust the government 1 bit. Do you?

Its good u agree with the principle. I sure believe there is subsidy if not the world oil market price for ethanol would be around 40cents(USA) but pls check comparative prices for ethanol and see if there is subsidy or not.

Yes Govt has betrayed us severally, I am not saying they wont again but we cant quit giving them the chance to prove otherwise untill we get there. And thanks for understanding with the most of us on the other side, we want to fight too but we are saying lets fight a right course: the implementation, lets fight their bogus expenditure, lets fight their insensitivity, Though i feel the course was wrong yet it maybe a led to the revolution we are asking for. I want to see a Nigeria that would pay unemployed graduates allowances, provide free medicals, i want to see a Nigeria where politicians are paid civil servants salaries and allowances, I want to see a Nigeria where the masses are respected and adored, I want to see a Nigeria where investors and entrepreneurs are at home to operate, I WANT TO SEE A NIGERIA WHERE BOKO HARAM IS AFRAID TO OPERATE BECAUSE OF TIGHT SECURITY NOT JUST IN ASO ROCK.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!

#1 (bolded) Assumes there's a fuel subsidy in the first place. We've heard the same story since the days of IBB. Nothing has changed. Even if they jack it up to N200 per liter, they will still claim we're being subsidized. All they need to do is juggle the figures again. Simple question: Is the fuel that is locally refined also subsidized? If not, how does it reflect on the current prices?

#2  Exactly how will this be accomplished? From where I stand, there is NO WAY to call this government to order. They will do what they like, when they like, how they like.
if u follow the trend in world oil market, u would understand where they are coming from.  I agree most times things are done without our consent or atleast putting us in the know, my dear that is where we can talk about revolution.  I agree revolution is necessary in such cases as corruption and insensitivity in this country.  What we are saying is we are fighting the wrong course. we should fight corruption, high and unreasonable allowances, unemployment, boko haram and all the problems not subsidy that would help lift our state.

What the govt is saying is, the oil cabals should import and sell in other to stop:

-inflating of quantity imported

-paying for our consumption but rather

- To use the money to develop other sectors which would also create jobs for the unemployed
- To use the money to build good roads and hospitals etc
-  Encourage investors to build refineries which would make the market competitive in Nigeria.

Do u know these cabals would import  10 barrels and submit paper for 100 barrels besides the excess profit they make they also shortchange govt and there by shortchanging us. Its bad market for them so they are doing everything to stop the govt.

Look at what is happening in the communication and banking sectors today, its all because of  effective changes and policies like this one.

However, all this point to the fact that we Nigeria should shine our eyes.NLC and TUC are not good representative of our plight. You will notice that once they out of the post, they are already billionaire .who can we look up to?

All is well with us in Nigeria!Sure banker.
LOOK UP TO GOOD IDEAS, GOOD POLICIES AND SUPPORT THEM THAT WAY, NIGERIA WOULD BE BETTER AND WE MAY NOT NEED NLC/TUC TO HALT ACTIVITIES IN NIGERIA

@philip0906

I suppose u need to read me again in the thread u are quoting. Yea if we had understood the concept well we wd not hv wasted a whole week for no just cause.  I REPEAT, SUBSIDY REMOVAL IS THE WAY OUT! when ppl accuse beaf of being paid to post on NL that is because we are opposed to the idea of subsidy removal and out protest against it, read my lips!, is a grave mistake which would give room for corruption and failure on the part of our government!

Why not allow total removal of the subsidy so that we can hold them responsible if they fail to carry out their promises now. what and where are u holding them Mr poster? when u quote me pls quote write better copy so u dont miss the contextual meaning!

Nigeria is really a funny country where some clown called Beaf can collect money from government and post rubbish in nairaland now Nlc have betrayed Nigerians also.
Please leave Beaf out of this. You are the one who has been myopic about the concept of subsidy removal as well as "Usual processes of NLC/TUC strike/Dialogue mambo jumbo"

Some of us who know NLc knows they were only going to achieve what they have achieved even though their conquest is a kill on Nigerian future.

No body paid anyone, go study the concept and come back.
PoliticsRe: Labour Calls Off Strike! by Ninapha(f): 3:25pm On Jan 16, 2012
@plaetton

May God bless the womb that gave birth to u! Our problem is understanding the concept of subsidy removal.  Goodluck shd not have succumbed to the pressures of the NLC who i believe are even naive about the concept.

Cheap fuel that we clamour would kill our future.  our economy is in big time slavery to the cabals whom i believe are instigating the NLC to fight for them.

Most people protesting hv not taken time to study the concept and has also failed to consider our future.  We are back to point 0!

As it is we cant hold the govt responsible if they fail to develop this country beyond our expectation.  cry cry cry  we hv given them reason to fail.

well Goodluck i hope u are listening, give back the % u hv been mandated to by this 97/L, that way Nigerians can understand that u meant well for us.  U can write ur name in gold by using whatever that comes out of it well.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA!!!
PoliticsRe: President Jonathan Approves N97/Litre As The New Pump Price For Petrol by Ninapha(f): 1:10pm On Jan 16, 2012
Sometimes i wonder how we Nigerians reason!  Calling Goodluck all kinds of name wont help our situation, what we need is a way out.  some cabals are seated in their homes receiving unjustifiable amount in the name of being importers and holding this country to ransom.

NLC,in d other hand, who is deceiving who? we know how they normally end this kind of issues, with ghana-must-go in their hands, the matter is settled and the lives lost are non news. They are more concerned about their selfish agenda than the employment that good ideas could create.

Bakare who is talking about the government, governance starts from our homes! how has he governed his ministry.  the money he generate should first be used on his followers so that we can see how transparent he is.

Generally, We should not judge this policy until it fails us, we are all guilty of mismanagement one way or the other.  Because the government subsidizes fuel, women would leave their gen-set on for a whole day watching movies, rich men flaunt 12 cars, boys drive cars with no destination in view all because fuel is cheap.  How much does graduates under the federal parastatals receive as salaries yet they keep asking for more whereas one million and one graduates are at home jobless.

I believe in this policy, it would sure be difficult now but we would get better, my most concern like everyone is: Would the proceeds be used to help the masses.  The govt should make haste to hands off PHCN and water board too.  Its time to move Nigeria forward and the time is now, no boko haram would stop it.

For clearification. This is just ONE out of 10 sections who are protesting in owerri, so they are many, for example, IMSU junction was a no go area in terms of tens and thousands of people there,

owu gi ashi! where is the picture of the thousands of people at IMSU junction. post it. le! magwa gi! owerriboy, an average Owerri man is learned and understands the benefits of the subsidy. Anyone protesting in owerri is either rented or helping the Reverend father protest his flogging. I don't blame the reverend father after all just that Ohakim is no more in power.

How can i cry for a Govt that spends more money in conducting election than improving the life of the masses.

I cry when I remember most Nigerians hv to go begging on the streets before they can pay their hospital bills.

When I remember that the Nigerian police receives 1Billion above the normal salary budget yet i cant sleep nor walk peacefully.

When I remember Most dullards gain admission cos their parents are rich. I  cry cry cry cry  when! ooooooooooooooo!  somebody hold me ooooooooooo before I slap person
PoliticsRe: Why Is Gej Afraid Of Critics by Ninapha(f): 1:50pm On Dec 20, 2011
Why is Goodluck and it's supporters always sceptical and afraid of critics

I doubt GEJ is a listening type. A good leader should be firm, the firmness is what i think GEJ does not posses that may him look like a listening type. What make Obj a tyrant is what GEJ is also starting

i don't understand your concept of military style or civilian style, i want a leader that will listen and attend to the needs of its people.

The way you write it make it sound as if you quoted me verbatim

U dont understand "Fright" or the context? u asked whether he is afraid of his critics and i said u should define or explain what u regard as being afraid?
PoliticsRe: Why Is Gej Afraid Of Critics by Ninapha(f): 11:46am On Dec 20, 2011
@ Poster, can u define ur context on fright  Does putting a stay on any issue amount to being afraid? if he becomes like OBJ and the likes u will be the first to say otherwise.

A good leader has the interest of the led at heart and should always weigh their responses before implementations.Yes at some instances he can overlook their responses but not in such case as fuel Subsidy which removal would affect the common man more than even the so rich men.

@Ninapha, truly, it applies to every adulterous situation, except if a person is truly justified in and by The Lord JESUS CHRIST. It even applies to a lustful looking,

----
"'But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." - Matt 5:28
I already know the meaning of that portion, but here she is just suspicious and has no evidience against her sister yet. i think in some cases we should adress issues objectively even though i respect ur views here.

some day she would know!  Now hv u discussed with your hubby cos i think he is the one that wd be most hurt if she revolts for the fact that you do not have another child together.

First find a good time to discuss with your hubby and agree on how to go about it so that whatever comes out of it he wont feel cheated out.

I have a cousin that has the same story and she is a nurse.  Now when she was about getting married she was surprised to find out that she is AS and her parents are "AA" she was devastated but i managed to convince her that the most important thing is her compatibility with her husband and not her parents but i know my uncle is not her biological father

Maybe 'confronting' is the wrong word to use . . . . Doesn't mean she can't find a way to broach the subject on a respectful manner. Running to her mother with the issue without first talking to the sister about it is just plain childish . . IMO!
well my emphasis was on the issue of disrespect to her husband. If they are from a closely related family, she can tell their mother her observation, who may pay a visit to ascertain her complaints of disrespect and believe me its only an elder sister or a mother that can make impact in this kind of issue. The issue of her suspicion is out of it entirely except she is cock sure! Childish or not she is her younger sister and must be careful of her contributions.
FamilyRe: Marriage Issues- Concerns by Ninapha(f): 3:38pm On Dec 09, 2011
As much as its ur life, your parents must hv their findings and reason for their decision. Why not put the marriage plan on hold, find out the truth about their assertions and weigh it with ur belief and strength.

I had a cousin who despite her parents refusal married to a man somewhere in the Niger delta. unfortunately the man died and dear, it was better imagined when they dished out their funeral rites to be performed by my cousin, in fact, she ran away from the thick bush where she was left alone to prove her innocence to a neighboring town and from there back to my village. Pls if u can even engage some people to find out more about his people, better for u. gather more information before making this important decision.
