@ Beaf Someone on Nairaland has just reported bombs going off in Jos. I guess this guy isnt the Mr Big after all, well lets wait till the next photo op |
This cant be possible! It was reported that the mastermind of bombings in Jos has been apprehended ![]() |
@ Beaf I already admitted a few post up that I am a Boko Haram sympathiser so lets put that to bed. Any professional security service will have at most released a video or picture of the suspect only in custody and not paraded him to journalists. If they so wished, they can display the arms they claim they recovered from him in another picture where the suspect doesnt feature. What you do not understand is that parading this miscreant with those arms in front of him means that the SSS have influenced any court case that may come about as a result of this arrest and if this happened in a country where the courts judiciary is effective, there is a good chance the case will be thrown out without prejudice. I understand things work differently in nigeria but all I am trying to point out here is that the SSS is not as professional as Edoyad claims. I still stand by my assertion that this guy was not the mastermind of and probably had nothing to do with the Jos Bombings. |
edoyad:The 'fricking' SSS! I hear you. How come their modus operandi is so much like that of their police cousins. Which professional secret service will parade a bombing suspect with a dane gun, suya knife and local charms on the table in front of him. Your very professional 'fricking' SSS also apprehended Mohammed Yusuf, yet someone in the room was able to make a recording of the very unprofessional interrogation and put it out on the internet for the whole world to see. The high value Yusuf ended up summarily executed after a few hours in the custody of the professional 'fricking' SSS. It is really the 'fricking' SSS |
Beaf:OK Ima Niboro! I am a sympathiser! |
Beaf:Why would I defend people that kill innocent people but you and I know this guy is probably some low level criminal or miscreant who was arrested and has been passed off as the mastermind of the Jos bombing. I seriously doubt that someone who has the expertise to organise multiple bombing will carry a local dane gun around for 'protection'. There have been cases in the past and unfortunately there will be more in the future where criminals suspected of an unrelated crime or sometimes completely inncoent members of the public (remember the Abuja 6?) are paraded as guilty of a crime |
moderatorr:This charade would have looked more realistic if they placed on the table, a bag of fertilizer (although it is really garri in the bag), some copper wires, match boxes, and 2 boxes wrapped in brown paper with wires sticking out and old mobile phones stuck on. |
LMFAO!!!! Mastermind of bombing found with local dane gun, suya knife and a few charms. Naija for show |
Got to admit, I love this girl, she gives fire for fire to bad belle people! |
Someone raised a very important point which got me thinking. Presently, the longest serving MP is Peter Tapsell. He has been in parliament continuosly since 1966 plus an earlier 2 year stint from 1962 to 1964. Thats a total of 47 years. This is longer than Gaddafi had been in power. Is this really democratic? |
Dont worry guys. No need to panic, Retardeen has started a consultation on the development of a new vehicle database which should put an end to all this madness. |
I didnt go to proper school, I went to the school of hard knocks. I asked why Retardeen didnt implement the database before now and you showed me a quote of him talking about new drivers license being as a result of a chat he had with Osita 3 years ago. Two different issues I am not saying it isnt a good thing to have records. In fact we should have had them longbefore now and Retardeen shouldnt make it a big deal rather he should be ashamed |
^^^^^^ This makes no mention of the database. It just talks about bringing a new drivers license to bring it up to the erm.,.,.,., usual international standards. |
@ werepe Why you dey yab me now. I just said a prayer, no be to complete am with amen? |
@ werepe It has been launched and I pray it is a success just like Turai's cancer hospital has been. |
this is a quote from Retardeens announcement ''This is part of proactive steps we are taking as part of a review of our national security architecture to lay greater emphasis on intelligence and citizens' participation in security surveillance'' Big grammer worded by a speech writer of course to bamboozle the electorate but how can he call this a proactive step. It is obviously reactive! |
@ ediclove Please answer some questions and remember this is 2011 1) Retardeen was a deputy governor and then a governor of a state for many years, did he think to implement this proposed 'new'system in the state he governed? 2) He was vice president for 3 years and has been president for about 18 months, why did it take a suicide bombing for him to propose this 'new' system If Retardeen had any shame, he would have hush hushed this proposed 'new' system and implemeted it without fanfare because like I said in my earlier post, it is a shame that in 2011, as you claim the giant of Africa still captures car registration details in exercise books. Why would any sane president come out and make a statement like he was bringing in a revolutionary new tool in the fight against terrorism when For instance, the DVLA in the UK has been using automated data processing since 1965 and here we are in 2011, some 45 years later' some clowns are jumping for joy praising Retardeen thinking he has proposed something to save them from Boko Haram. |
edicolove:If It is true that in 2011 a country called the giant of Africa does not have existing databases (an Excel or Access spreadsheet on at least a Pentium II computer with enough storage) where car registrations details i.e car registration number, name of owner, address, chassis number e.t.c are electronically captured, then I gladly accept that I am a fool. But it is a sad idictment of the country as a whole and the government and the people who elect these 'leaders' are the bigger fools if it took a suicide bombing for your country to realise you need such a database. And you are even much bigger fools for jumping for joy at the announcement of such a database. I hope you understand what e-registration means! My response above was just to indulge you and pass a message because I know 100% that current records are electronically captured and like I have said all along, the announcement by Retardeen is to hoodwink fools like you! You say each state has their registration office. How is data captured at these registration offices? Electronically on a computer or on a 2B exercise book? Like I said in one of my earlier posts a database is not a big deal. Data captured electronically and stored on any computer system forms a database and as such these regional offices already have these databases. What retardeen should be proposing is linking these databases for quick retrieval of data(Prince already schooled you clowns on the cons of data duplication) The only thing the linking or maybe migration of data from these existing databases (although some of you are happy to be fooled that it is a new database) is that data retrieval will take 2 seconds instead of the 24 hours it probably takes now. Now this is a good thing but I dont see why you guys should be so ecstatic believing Retardeen is proposing a revolutionary tool for fighting terrorism. Even if the database was somehow miraculously commisioned today, how would this 'new' database prevent the next suicide bombing? |
@ chines4 It isnt that we do not want to support advancement but the problem here is that what the man has proposed is nothing new and is no advancement. There is an existing database of cars registered in Nigeria where cars are linked to names and addresses. What then is the revolutionary thing Retardeen is proposing? Not everyone will jump for joy at the sound of some technical terms. You can fool some people sometimes but you can fool all the people all the time. Maybe 20 years ago before the world became a global village, announcemnts like this would have fooled 99% of the population but these days many of us have broadened our world view and have in depth knowledge and understanding of issues. |
@ Nateevs It has to be an electronic database. If in the 21st century where a terabyte of storage costs less than $100, Nigeria is still recording car registration details in 2B exercise books then I am afraid there is no redemption for the country, |
Fantastic news just like the completed Turai Cancer Hospital in Abuja. Kudos to you Retardeen |
@ beaf A database cant trace nobody. If you are telling me it took weeks to find the registered owner of the car used in the bombing. That means the data required already exists but accessing it was the problem. Why then does Retardeen go and make an announcement like he is going to do something revolutionary bu saying he launched a new database. He would have been better of saying existing car registration databases will all be linked to make improve access. Using your own car analogy, what retardeen announced is like going to buy a new car just because you cant find the key to your 6 month old car. |
@princek12 Your knowledge and understanding of the subject being debated is recognised. Keep on schooling these clowns |
Beaf, your car and aeroplane analogy is just plain daft. Let me break it down for u. We already have an existing database of cars in Nigeria where data such as name, address, car registration, chasis number e.t.c is captured. Unless Retarden plans to ask existing car owners and new car buyers to provide addtional data such as fingerprints and retina scans, then whatever 'new' database that is created will be no better a tool to fight terrorism than the database that exists today. Like I said it will be a case of old wine in a new bottle. |
So beaf agrees the existing data will be migrated to the new database. So basically its a case of old wine in a new bottle. If you move the existing data to a new database, what will be achieved? Why has it made front page of Nairaland if it is simply a case of data migration. If it is the same old data, why is Retardeen touting it like it is some revlolutionary tool in the fight against terrorism when the database of registered cars already exists. This is another case of pulling wool over the eyes of Nigerians. |
@ beaf Yes there is an existing database. Why then the need to launch a new database. What is it going to do differently from the existing one? Are Nigerians going to have to submit finger prints and retina scans when registering new cars. Tell me how this new possibly multi billion naira database is going to differ from the current system. Shouldnt it at most be a case of improving on the existing database by ensuring data integrity and possibly networking all the disjointed databases dotted all around the country. |
@ beaf Please answer this: Do we have an existing database of cars registered in Nigeria? |
@ beaf Ordinary Sweetshops and foodstalls have databases and you are sat in your rat infested, barbwire barricaded, diesel generator powered house thinking it is a big deal. I sorry sorry o, i sorry for Nigeria. I can do you a simple database in about half an hour. |
@ Beaf So database na big thing for your eye! Chei my people have suffered. can you answer this question please: Is there an existing database of vehicles registered in Nigeria? if there is, why launch another one? |
I hate Naija die! but I'll be honest these are beautiful pictures. If only those bastard colonialists didnt force us to live together, if only, |
I am not in a position to go to FRSC so can you help or maybe you havent got a clue and you are just tripping on the word database. database no be big thing like that o! |
@ werepe (what a name )No one is acting God or claiming to be a w(h)izkid (awon eleyi won badt gan) but not everyone can be bamboozoled by the use of ordinary english words. How is what Retardeen proposing any different from the current system of vehicle registration? |
