I always wondered if it the Oku in those names means corpse, it just didn't tally with the rest of the name. I know iga- is palace always wondered if okunuga was corpse in the palace. If it means God of wealth I. E Aje it still makes sense. I am Ijebu. |

Wowzerfull so enlightening
I also think lack of ami ohun while writing these names in Yoruba language aided in the misconception of names, If names are spelt with their amin ohun I. E tonation one might not make those mistakes.
Very very insightful, names we have given different meanings from what they originally mean.
Kudos OP. These are educative topics that should be discussed here jare. |

Poverty, ignorance, proximity of Good Medical Facilities are making them thrive.
Same thing with the blooming Chemist/Pharmacy around you. 99% of these guys don't know nothing aside selling you fake stuff.
Just pray you don't have an emergency.
Na so Dem dey call one guy Doctor for my side, I had only one interaction with him and I told my wife that he is not a Doctor. Found out the guy was once worked as a Lab Attendant!
He is Training Nurses in a facility at his house. All dressed up in starched up uniform and they pay him for the Training too!
Almost everything dey casted in this country. They now learn nursing as work, just like you learn tailoring. See all those quack private hospitals avoid them, some of them are the ones doing the training sef. There's a reason why some people will either go to established private hospitals or general hospitals, even govt health center won't employ quack aka Abe-Ile nurse The Nurses association needs to do something about this urgently. |

pocohantas: I am even shocked someone is Cc-ing me on this. I would never understand why they do that. I have said it here that except you are a Linda Ikeji, you would crumble. Even Linda wanted the man involved but he refused.
Asides the fact that a child needs a balance of both parents, it is TOXIC to restrict the child’s access to the other parent. Sometimes they grow to idolise the absent parent. They would convince themselves they would have been better or stable adults if the absent parent was around.
I see SMs every other time on social media. Many of them end up begging for giveaway and playing the single mother card to evoke sympathy. Some end up dating married men. Some cannot get to their full potentials because they are playing dad and mum while working to feed this child (or children). Get the man involved! If he was a bad partner, was he also a bad father? They are two different things. The bolded is a very important reason why the child needs to have access to the absent parent to see him/her for whom they truly are. Too much stories of my mum is very manipulative blablabla. Tell am where him papa dey, make sure the Father plays a role, if you have to go to Igando customary court to do it, do it let him have a role in that child's upbringing. If the other parent now decides to be dead beat patapata the child will see and will stop hounding you for an irresponsible parent. 2 parents bringing up a child is enough hard work, one person doing it will quench. |

Loool even govt workers are looking for alternative sources of income. You have two sources you are talking stress, jobs don't necessarily have to be stress free.
You better find means of managing the stress if you know what's good for you. You think that 45k is nothing abi, you don't collect the 45k for 3 months you will understand.
Nigeria is hard enough, all legal means of alternative incomes should be welcomed. |

Truvelisback: The present presentage of men who are well-to-do are very, very low because of the ugly state of this hopeless and miserable country. That's why women need to assist their husbands with what they earn, no matter how little it is. Women need to assist the husband with what they earn but men can't assist with the wife and if they do they are Simps right? |

Mindlog: I used to be a neighbous to a Nigerian couple with a 2 year old daughter......that mindset up there, was one of the key causes of conflict in their marriage.
Oga carry im Nigerian way come UK refusing to unlearn some things and relearn, insisting cooking and other domestic chores must be done by only the wife alongside much of the childcare.....madam change am for am, how can she do 12 hrs shift at work just to come home to chores, without the husband lifting a finger. Madam decided go off work for a month, to stay back home and be full-time housewife which made Oga to look for extra 20hrs job per week to add to the main 40hrs per week he was already doing...by third week he called his wife to reconsider resuming work and they worked out how chores would not burden just one spouse. Abi nau make she kuku dey cook, clean and do nanny dey go make the man dey make all the moni. She will work and come die on top again let her choose her main role and rest make the guy do him main role whether he go fit cope. |

There are situations one pray never to fall into.
The problem is lots of families in Nigeria cover up sexual assault cases.
The woman is probably more hurt than you are concerning her daughter, fear probably didn't make her tell you, fear of being blamed, fear of your reaction etc.
I honestly dont think arresting her is the best step.
The boy should be put in juvenile prison.
Anyway the family has crashed already by these string of events. There might have been another outcome if handled differently. |
