What I have always preached against is the idea of a "Christian" getting married twice.
They'll have their traditional marriage aka trad., then go ahead to have a church marriage aka white wedding.
A Christian doesn't need a trad.

Anyway you are wrong, Biblically once you fulfill the requirements of marriage that is required according to customs you are married and it is valid in the eyes of God. So even if you marry according to Asian, Indian, Yoruba, igbo, hausa, Japanese whatever custom you are married and it is valid, even the church recognizes it.

In the Bible there was no church wedding, they married according to their culture.

The same Nigerian churches that will tell you if you have not done church wedding you are not married in the eyes of God is still the same church that will tell you once you have paid dowry you are married and you can't marry again, the customary marriage is binding.


Here once you fulfill the requirements by the parents/ family (bride price, etc) you are married and it's very valid in the eyes of God.

The only reason why some people are shouting against solemnization in church is because of the way our Nigerian churches have blown it out of proportion. It shouldn't be more mthan a 20 minute ceremony honestly and it can be done in the Pastors office, according to how the couples desire. I am not catholic but have attended the wedding of a friend, was a simple mass, they joined and we went home.

The other was my church pentecostal , after the trad, they came to church next day and were joined in Pastors office. Even the oyinbos don't make these things hard like we do here.

It starts from primary school, pupils no longer go through primary 5, they move from 4 to sec school, some secondary school students in private schools no longer pass through SS3, only SS2 and they would register as an external candidate.

They get very high scores in Waec, sometimes even if they don't perform very well in Post ume they might get admission, some universities use aggregate, they have marks for each Waec grade, an A1 parrallel student in Waec with an average score in UME and post UME might get admission while a student with Cs in Waec with average scores in UME and Post UME might not get admission.

Infact I feel aggregate (of UME, waec, post-ume) system of giving admissions is a major cause of the rise of exam malpractice at Waec level.
The aggregate system is not wrong but Waec exams seems to be the only one malpractice mostly occurs among the three.

All these is not to say there are no students who truly have A1s in waec, there are very exceptional students but the way A1 parallel is common these days it's one of these 3.

1. We have exceptionally bright candidates in recent years.
2. Waec questions are now simpler
3. Malpractice occur.

After reading the comments, I had to woke up my mom from sleep, and told her about the my displeasure on how she handled the situation.

She said her marriage will crash if she were to take an action, and she's also concerned about the future of my sisters if a word were to be led out concerning the issue.

Right now, I'm just confused to be honest, and I also believe that taking the matter to the police station will cause the same issue my mom has been trying to avoid.

I have tried crown, noticed it goes bad quickly. Honeywell is absolute error. I couldn't get Golden penny the last time I went to the market, I had to settle for honey well, I almost cried.

Well, after complaining to colleagues, I was told to cook it with less water which I tried and it worked only that it's not as tasty.

Hmm well I haven't noticed the going bad quickly side, i do keep in thermal flask for my kids for some considerable hours and it doesn't get spoilt maybe because the flask still keeps it hot though.

Honeywell is just out of the discussion don't even go there at all.
