Golden penny has a better taste, doesn't turn mushy and doesn't spoil quickly, it's no. 1 in the spaghetti category.

So I thought till I tried crown. Never ever boughtany other brand for years, until someone I respected her culinary opinion told me early this year to try it I did and got hooked.

As far as I know only golden penny and crown don't get mushy among our local brands. They once gave me honey well spag as a gift Chai it was a fatality.

Until you try crown you can't say golden penny has a better taste. I have tried both, besides the quality of golden penny has reduced drastically.

I had a niece and nephew who attended takewondo classes ( abi which one do they wear white white and shout yi yaa up and down)

Apart from golden penny, I don't really trust any other Nigerian brand.
I've not tried the crown brand before.
I might give it a try though.
Spaghetti used to be a cheap alternative o, till it went up like the rest.



To tell you the truth, I'm not that much of a beans fan o, except it's ewa aganyin, or when paired with rice or plantain.

Trust me crown is far far better than golden penny,

I was a golden penny addict, mid this year a friend told me to try it and I did, it was fantastic then I bought golden penny last time Chai, the thing has reduced in size , e no dey swell again , I cooked more quantity than I would normally.

I quickly bought crown back this past week. I dunno why golden penny reduced their quality.

I rather marry a Cameroon lady, our neighbors here than you jokers. I have travelled several times to Douala and Yaounde for business and the ladies there are very feminine and very few of them fake it. I have also noticed that the Cameroon ladies who come to Nigeria get spoilt after living here for a few years. Even Senegal and Ivory Coast women sef are better than 9ja girls.

Well a lot of times these things don't happen as a direct maid sort of thing, it always start with one person saying let my daughter live with you people and you take care of her education feeding and all to them its one burden less.

So the girl lives with them and they send her to school, she takes care of the younger ones as siblings also does chores

Some of these situations is kind of similar to the nwa boy matter. Lots of girls who had no hope or means as a result of the poverty level of their parents have made something out of their lives from such arrangements.


9 out of 10 times these arrangements are as a result of poverty, like the scenerio of this girl /family the OP painted.

As middle class parents, the missus and I are at the point where we are constantly haranguing the 12 and 14 year old about 'discipline', 'critical thinking', 'common sense', 'responsibility' and a whole lot of other words. It often feels like an uphill task but every once in a while they do something in public that makes you realize it may be working


Most of these poor kids (and A lot of others) do not learn common sense in their formative years and are unable to take smart decisions later in their lives.

Few months ago, our 19 year old live-in maid ran off with a 20 years old boy. She packed and moved to a ghetto here in PH because of love

Thank God we were able to track her, got her arrested and bundled her back to her family in Lagos where we took her from.

Once they turn teenagers, it's very easy for boys to deceive them.

This is a girl that had a big room, A.C, quality clothes and latest gadgets to herself. She wrote WAEC last year and was only awaiting admission.

My wife loved her so much and took her like a daughter. You will never know she isn't our blood. She flew and travel everywhere with us but Penis derailed her life.

I was so grateful she didn't get pregnant else it would have been a different case.

Now, we don't do live-in maids. It's cash and carry. Our new maid comes to clean up the house once we are back from work at 4pm.. (works 5pm to 7pm). Then work on Saturdays too (8am to 5pm) Once you are done, go back to your house. While she's fully off on Sunday.

You always want the best of life for them but they don't love their lives enough.

Good news guys, I finally found our Angel, all thanks to uncle Kingsley. BTW, her name is Nnenna.
When I made the first post 2 weeks ago, my cousin took me to Save The Child orphanage because he thought thats where I celebrated my birthday in 2019. Then they told me someone already adopted Nnenna.

After I made the second post my uncle said he saw the girl not too long ago and wondered if I went to the right place.

So uncle Kingsley took me to Golden Stars Orphanage and i found Nnenna. She couldn't recognise me cha cha.

Don't blame me guys because over the years I've been to so many orphanages so I don't remember which orphanage I visited in 2019.

The good thing is we found her but someone said she's so attached to Golden child founder that she may not release her to us.

Even if I don't adopt her, I will be responsible for all her bills and education up to university level. And at least I can always visit her and buy her toys, gifts. Doesn't really matter whether she lives in my house or not.

I'm so happy to know that I will be able to fulfil the promise I made to Nnenna in 2019. Glory be to God
