1. Dr Bankole Olusina (MD). Also known as Pastor Bankie. pastor.ng 2. Steven Furtick of Elevation church. |
narrowpathy:Well, i didn't necessarily see Mr Bakare, but i saw a small bodied pastor. It wasn't the VP. And given that Bakare has been very authoritative in being the next in line after Buhari, one can easily assume he's the pastor i saw. Again, if things get heated up, the only person Buhari can trust aside from his VP will be Bakare. We only know in parts. |
Tunde Bakare will likely succeed Buhari for a short period. When is what i don't know. |
Let God's will be done. |
talktrue1234:Condemning Obama has little or nothing to show if she is a Republican. A lot Democrats are now very hard on Obama's administration. Same with some Republicans towards trump. I actually don't really care that much about both parties. My point is that it was hardly about political affiliations or even about patriotism. It was a clear case of transfered aggression and superiority/inferiority complex. |
talktrue1234:I endorse this comment. It was never about foreigners badmouthing trump. Matter of fact, she may even be an unapologetic democrat. She just needed an opportunity to talk down and feel superior to someone. And the uber driver provided her that opportunity. It was clearly a case of transferred aggression and inferiority or superiority complex. That being said, I'm not excusing "pokenosers". |
Very silly, selfish and myopic talks here. He should be talking about how he can join hands and move Edo forward instead of silly parties talk. Everything is about party for these guys. I'm not holding brief for PDP though. |
2cribz:If you have lived outside Nigeria for even a day, you would have known that shopping mall is the biggest tourist attraction to rich and poor people. It's free entry, cheap to access, shopping for essential commodities, social centre for new meet ups and dating centre etc. Heck, people travel from USA and Europe just to tour Dubai shopping malls. Are they also local and bush? Yes, Nigerians should do more tours to zoos, safaris and waterparks, but these places can strain your time and resources. But in shopping malls, you can hold small business meetings, buy all your groceries and essentials items, meet up people and in a short while, go back to your endeavors. All these at a very little cost and time. Boring? A little. But what's actually local about that? |
SUPERPACK:You are right sir. He is a very nice and funny guy. He's also a rough driver. And yes, he can drink for Africa. But above all, given that he has done more than 2 tenures, I think he's a wonderful representative and well loved by his people. |
flyingpig:They will be tortured to death before they make prison. Try finding out how many Offa robbers made it to law court not to talk of prison. Even at the order of the president to avoid extra judicial killing of hardened criminals, the police hardly allow these kind of daredevils to make it to law courts. Aside from the pains of loosing their colleagues, The police know these daredevils are unrepentant and will take a revenge when set free or even sentenced to prison proper. |
With what these guys did to the police, there's no way they can make it to their first hearing in court. They won't be shot. They will be tortured to a painful death. |
Please stop all these nonsense. There has to be a conspiracy going on. If not, why would a thinking being believe that Tinubu is a threat to anybody. This is the most exhausting thought process I've ever seen people hold. Gosh!!! |
I'm not a fan of madam Joy. I think she has this huge sense of entitlement and has little or no reservations. However, the last thing I will do is to judge her because she had "4" husbands in the past. Those husbands could have been the problem. That's why I get surprised when people label Kim Kardashian olosho just because she has been with a few guys at different times. Why? Somebody the world knows her true body count. I totally condemn having so many partners at different times. But it's far better than just having one legal partner while keeping several other partners at the same time. |
omenka:I don't know the political affiliation of the person you replied this comment. Hopefully, he is who you labeled him/her. But if he is not, then folks like you have made it very difficult for neutral and intelligent critics to constructively criticize the bad policies of the government. These contributors are maliciously labeled either PDP or ipob yoots even when they are saying the truth. I can bet that your first comment on this thread, if made by another neutral commentator 5 months ago would have attracted a harsh condemnation and ipob or PDP label from you. What changed? How is Buhari's lack of political will to arrange this country 4 years ago different from today? As for those blackmailers who doesn't want to see anything but party affiliation when critical national discuss is going on, i say with facts that they are winning. They know exactly what they are doing. Nigerian youths must wake up! The sun will soon set and there won't be time to look for the black goat. |
Kazim88:I endorse this comment. |
stanat:Parents being aware and giving their blessings is the first part of the requirements which i never objected to. That is not even debatable. The second part which is as important as the first part is that the government must be aware of it. The Bible is not stupid to tell Christians to always inform or participate in government programs like this. Do your research, all the churches that wed people obtained licenses from the government. There's a reason why. Aside Christianity, no law stops anybody from cohabiting and raising a family with another willing partner who is of the age...... Government and family no get rights to interfere. |
babasolution:I'm unapologetic when I say that most African religions does not ONLY breed poverty, it's a practice of barbarism... And should be discarded entirely. As for Christianity and a couple of other foreign religions, it's simply how Africans practice them that make it look bad or bring forth bad results. Very few people know that some of the principles of these foreign religions were enbeded either in a written or unwritten constitution which in turn guided them to success and massive development. 1. Protestant work ethic: The Germans lifted these principles from the Bible and embedded in their constitution. Today, as they say, the rest is history. These principles emphasizes on hardwork, character, truth, commitments, frugality and respect for authorities. 2. Law of Jante: Developed in Nordic countries of Europe. It's almost like an unwritten religion over there. It emphasizes humility, equality, communialism etc. These put the Europeans on the map economically and otherwise. 3. Neo Confucius: Mostly practiced in south Asia and South. Frugality, hardwork, respect for authority etc. 4. Magna Carter. USA. All the aforementioned principles are all religious principles. But the problem is the practice of these principle and raising debates on how to infuse them into our culture |
ojtopsy:You are right. But we are not discussing marriage outside of Christianity. We are discussing Christian marriage here. Do a little biblical research, If the government is not aware, it's null and void in the face of God. |
Not totally true sir. Any marriage without the acknowledgement by the government is null and void in the face of man and God. Most of the weddings done at home and even the church don't have permits from the government. As far as God and man is concerned, that marriage does not exist. People don't know that the marriage certificate the church gives couple on their wedding day is authorized by the government. If any church doesn't have such permit, they are wasting their time. In summary, whether you wed in church or in your bedroom... If the government is not aware; you are wasting your time. |
Passionately hating on someone who has the same physical features but different language or culture with you is far worst than hating on someone who looks totally different from you and has totally different culture with you. African tribalism is far worse and more evil. |
This law should be replicated across Nigeria, especially in the south where people bury their loved ones in their compounds even in their room. 1. Such culture devalues lands as not so many people would want to buy and develop a mini burial ground in a small property. 2. It doesn't allow for proper unrban and regional planning. Certain unpleasant rituals are usually performed before buried corpse could be relocated to another burial sight. 3. It encourages wasteful burial rites. |
OyinO:I feel sad i had to go through so many baseless comments to finally arrive at a comment with facts. Even the so-called boxing enthusiasts who are supposed to know better were all carried away. BTW, I'm not a big fan of Money-May, but statistics don't lie. Dude was not fighting untrained boxers in one village, he was fighting real professionals for 23 years. 50 of those professional fights; he beat them all the time. Bro, even if he was fighting some local women for 50 times, one person for mistakenly beat am. No be FLUKE |
Go sidon joor! Money rituals dey give billions of naira? Dude has been a known fraudster from day one. All he does is work very hard in aligning with the people in power to evade the law. |
*** |
omonnakoda:Your question seem like a trap. Customs need very fast and security sensitive computers. These characteristics translates to expensive. Lack of these are the reasons customs are loosing billions of naira weekly due to hacking and manipulations. It also one of the major reasons ports are conjested because of the slow nature of their current computers. Nb. I don't work with customs. |
There's a big chance that a sharp practice is being incubated in this contract. But even if there's none, whatever the government does is suspect because of other bad deals they've gotten themselves into before. But to be fair, many people in IT sector can bear witness that a standard computer befitting of a security conscious department like the Nigerian customs will be in the neighborhood of $1,200 - $1,700 per unit. Now, sane but slightly insignificant arguments like direct labor (boycotting contractors) and purchasing cheaper computers were raised. These arguments are not bad but the downside is that the government may end purchasing the wrong components as some of these contracts involves experts who also do the installation. The other downside is that cheap computers will most unlikely do the kind of work it's needed for in a security sensitive and fast pace department like customs. The solution has always been on the table: 1. Develop/produce or die. Nigeria even when we rightly purchase goods like this. We will keep spending huge amounts of money on stuff like this yearly. The government must provide an enabling environment for mass (even if not quality) production for most of what we need. You save these millions and fx by this act. 2. Nigeria must ensue merits, passion and character in their civil service recruitment process. With this, you don't need to contract an external body to buy and install these gadgets. Again, it saves money and protects the system from an outside attack. Singapore, China and some Nordic countries has perfected this act. From their science labs, aerospace, oil... These countries employ and manages their best brains in them, and they are reaping the benefits massively. Again develop/manufacture or we will keep discussing this topic every other year when it's time to make another purchase from HP. |
Exc2000:Abba kyari was not influential because he was a money bag to anybody. He never had that kind of money to influence anything like Funtua. Kyari was influential because he was intentionally allowed by the cabal to be. Maybe as a result of ill health, Buhari is clearly lazy about governance and thereby needs who will do most part of the job for him. And that is where the COS comes in. Gambari will weild the same influence as kyari. It's not about the person, but about the job description of COS in Buhari's administration. This was the same reason I shook my head when people thought kyari was the problem of Nigeria. Kyari performed according to his job description, so will Gambari. In other words, the COS in Buhari's government is not the usual COS we used to know. He is empowered to be the face, focal person and most importantly the middle man between the presidency/cabal and the entire public (be it ministers, VP, Femi adesina or Garba Shehu.... And thereby more influential than any public servant in Nigeria except Buhari. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RVVfJVj5z8s Documentary. Amazon Empire: The rise and reign of Jeff Bezos. |
Garba and Femi had never had a stronghold in the presidency. Their jobs were well spelt out for them: Defend the president as much as you can. And please, don't be deceived. Power never changed hands from Mamman Daura to anybody. The cabal is very much alive. |
The ipob leader thinks the only way to get Biafra is to insult whoever doesn't agree with him on anything. He keeps building hate into the minds of his followers. Like I said before, be you a rascal like Nnamdi kanu/Sowore, an armed robber like Anini/Derico, touts like odumeje/Eddie Nawgu, terrorists like Osama/shekau, freedom fighters like Mandela/che Guevara/Castro, a visionary like Sankara/Lee Kuan Yew/general park etc.......... all you need do to become popular among a people is to side with them on their cause regardless of what your true intentions are. Nnamdi kanu understands and uses this scheme very well. Given, he is very intelligent and have achieved a considerable portion to the actualization of Biafra, but in freedom fighting, they are stages and he has exhausted his role. Biafra can only be achieved through massive vote of Igbos who are intelligent, vocal, fearless and believe in the idea of Biafra into all the elective positions in the south east. Calling people horrible names, acting like an emperor and hoping UN and Israel will hand over Biafra to you means a lot of people have been hypnotized. |
1. Though Atiku had good points about the sales of the refineries but he cannot be trusted to be in charge of the sales. Heck, the reason he was heavily attacked by Nigerians when he proposed such. 2. Buhari's APC knew very well that Atiku's idea was not bad but due to the kind of malicious politics we play here, instead of agreeing with him and proposing to do same, they condemned the policy entirely. As much as I am glad Atiku didn't win, I was never in doubt what a disaster, clueless and deceitful Buhari's government was going to continue being beyond 2019. The consolation was that everything was going to remain status quo or regress badly until at least 2023. Then another can take the pains to rebuild us and our economy. But with Atiku, how do you rebuild or recover if he legally sells everything we have to himself or cronies like he suggested? Now, my own opinion about the sale of our refineries is that we should be ashamed of ourselves. It's an indictment on our public/civil service that we cannot efficiently and gainfully manage our state owned companies. Btazil's Petrobras, China's sinopec, Singapore's SPC, Saudi Aramco, Qatar petroleum etc all come to mind. They are all state owned and partially run by their civil servants, yet they are some of the highest grossing listed companies in the world. So, why sell off NNPC to individual monopolists who doesn't care about the true production of oil other than making profits? Why can't Nigeria manage some of these corporations? Nothing wrong in privatizing the NNPC's refineries, but the problem is selling it off to cronies who don't have passion for the sector except profits that come with it. We should also know that oil sector (extraction industry) is different from telecommunication sector (service industry). The only problem with Nigeria is lack of reward and punishment system in all sectors of our national life. Otherwise, state owned NNPC can efficiently and economically compete with SINOPEC any day. |
Agriculture, I mean using cutlass and hoes to till hectares of land has never boomed any country before. Mechanized agriculture did. Secondly, diversifying the economy is not a walk in the park, especially when the leaders have never had any genuine interest to serve and the led are not willing to endure the stress and rigors of diversification. When some people talk about diversification, they believe it's just about looking away from oil and carrying hoes and cutlass to embark on agriculture or using palm fronds to make baskets or using expired and dangerous materials like tire to make sofa for sale. Diversification for Nigeria in this age is getting away from extractive industry into semi and finished production. It will require the following: 1. Continuous inflow of billions of dollars. 2. Massive power generation and supply. 3. Very sincere and pragmatic president, who believes so much in equity and merits. 4. Semi skilled and skilled dedicated workers. 5. Favorable government policies. Right now, Nigeria can only access number 4. A miracle has to happen like it did at the Han river. |
