So where have previous VPs been living?

Where was he caught? Is acid cheaper? Can the taste be same? Acid will eat up the seeds rather than fry...

Whole thing makes no sense.

Believe every Social Media video at your own peril.

I opened this thread solely to see how many people still have their brains working.

Unfortunately not many. You are the only person so far who has displayed logical reasoning.

Acid cannot be used to process food. It destroys it.
OP just wanted to see how many can be fooled. And there are many already.

Health / Re: Please Help, My Son Has Dandruff For Over 8years Now by Nyceguy92: 3:21pm On Apr 19, 2023
First off, there is nothing spiritual about this problem.

Anyone who has been observant growing up should know that this is a scalp problem common among children, especially in areas poor in skin hygiene and regular bath.

This child is suffering from a mixture of fungal and bacterial infections. The particular species of fungus involved requires a laboratory test.

It is possible that the treatments given so far did not get to the root of the problem because they were trapped superficially on the hair instead of dwelling on the skin proper.

It will be a good idea to shave the hair down to the scalp as some alreadysuggested, but this cannot be done without numbing the area because it's going to hurt. Enough numbing gel or spray should make shaving painless.

After shaving, I recommend washing the scalp with warm water + salt at least twice daily, then applying a good amount of an antibiotic cream or ointment and a good antifungal cream.

The veins and arteries of the scalp are closely related to the nose and mouth. This might explain the taste in the mouth of substances applied on the head.

I can imagine the agony and discomfort your son has been passing through. As a child, he is helpless and is depending on you to help him. He should be able recover. And don't give up.

Good luck.

Family / Re: Should I Get Married To Her Now? by Nyceguy92: 11:59pm On Apr 11, 2023
The OP says he has saved enough money and he loves his girlfriend who works. So I don't see reason why he shouldn't go ahead and marry her. Weddings need not be extravagant.

When people say " go abroad, make money, then marry," they give the impression that once he gets there, he begins to money without the enabling paperwork, which takes time.

If the OP leaves, the girl will definitely marry someone else almost immediately.

It is always a story of sadness and frustration when families give their daughters out in marriage to men who later travel out to hustle. And I have seen several such cases.

NYSC / Re: Best State For Prospective Corp Member To Serve In Nigeria by Nyceguy92: 6:06pm On Apr 11, 2023
Let's not bring ethnic colouration to the discussion.

Virtually every state/ community knows the usefulness of corpers and is ready to welcome them.

Best place to serve is in the rural communities. Most of these places have designated accommodation for corpers. Rural folks are friendly.

Cost of living is very cheap and if you are good, foodstuff won't cost you anything. Everyone knows everyone so security is hardly an issue.

As a teacher, you will see students who really need your knowledge. They may be eminent people tomorrow and will definitely remember you.

Professionals in health and engineering will have golden opportunities to gain experience. The market in my village was constructed by corpers years back.

Wherever you get posted, there is always something there - the food, the people, new friends, the weather, etc - that will make you want to stay back in the end.

My experience.

Lol... All ye that never tilled the soil or participated in harvesting yams should know that there is nothing mysterious about this yam.

The yam simply encountered some weird arrangement of tree stumps, roots, and stones while growing. It had to adapt to the
obstacle.

Message here is that the farmer might not have prepared the farmland very well before planting.

is your private document.

I can understand your enthusiasm and the need for validation, but over time when you are more mature, your perspective will surely change.

First, many people don't know the difference between being offered admission and actually being granted a visa.

Nearly everyone that applies that qualifies gets the offer. The real deal is obtaining the visa at the interview. So nothing to rejoice or feel bad about yet.

Second, she is only a girlfriend to you, not your wife. Intention to marry remains intention only. Besides, taking you along requires definite financial requirements that must be fulfilled.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Cooking Gas Business Or Keke by Nyceguy92: 4:37pm On Feb 01, 2023
Keke transportation will give you quick and big cash depending, as has been said, if you operate it yourself and work hard at it.

However, Cooking gas business is a more structured and relaxed venture, but it requires capital and space.

Inless you intend to buy and sell already filled gas cylinders, you will need a sizeable amount of space far away from heat and fire, tanks for gas storage, and refill equipment.

For a refill worth 5K for example, I am not sure the profit margin is up to N300. That means you will have to refill some 20 cylinders in a day to make 5K profit.

As your question is which guarantees the quickest cash, Keke is good for you. You don't have to worry about office space and Staff. Besides, you work when you want to work.

My honest opinion.

This post is completely redundant.

After the OP has showered praises on working and supportive women, he turned around to ask readers what they thought about such women. Does he want us to say that's a bad thing?

Those who commented about housekeeping and related issues are off the point as that's not what this post is about. This is how people fail exams; they introduce their own question and proceed to answer same.

If you still make a reasonable profit after all and you are not under obligation to split it with your brother, you should go ahead and buy from him.

Car Talk / Re: A Mechanic Is Asking Me To Remove My Car Catalyst by Nyceguy92: 3:12am On Oct 29, 2022
Poor acceleration in a car can be due to one or two of many components that work together to ensure the car responds well to the throttle pedal. It is not always easy to pinpoint the culprit without a good inspection and testing.

Apart from the injector, plugs and fuel pump which you already serviced or changed, fault could be from the MAF sensor, oxygen sensor, bad air filter, even the catalytic converter.

How did you reach at the decision to replace the fuel pump? The mechanic should have checked that there was fuel delivery at the injector nozzles. Unless he measured the fuel pump pressure to be low, the pump should not have been removed.

I suggest you take your car for a scan to narrow the trouble down to specific areas. in the absence of a warning (E.g check engine) light on the dashboard, you will need a more sophisticated scanner to pick up pending codes.

There is no guarantee that replacing the cat. converter will solve your problem. By the time you run into luck and throw in the right part, you would have spent a lot while removing good parts.

It would be nice (and others will learn, too) if you come back here later to tell us how you eventually solved your problem. This is one thing people who bring their problem here do not do. They receive advice and never bring feedback so others will learn from their experience.

[quote author=donnie56 post=114460846]

Are you really serious?

If your situation really exists, here is what I think;

You did not say in what year you are, though it does not matter much.

The ASUU strike created a vacuum that led to your side hustle, meaning if there was no strike, you would be in school full time.
Now the vacuum has been filled with online Zoom lectures. Nothing bad about it.

Even if you are in the clinical year, there are lectures you must attend.
I sense the 200k monthly money is weighing heavily on the side of you abandoning school.

You did not give the impression that you were struggling with tuition and upkeep hence the side hustle.
Do your parents/sponsor know about your present dilemma?

If you are really a medical student, you should be familiar by now the enormous demand in time and energy from students.
You should quit the job immediately and embrace your studies.
All you need is hard work and determination.

By the way, ignore those who advise you continue and save the money so you can leave the country or start all over next year.
These options are not guaranteed.

About professional exams you mentioned, as a medical student, you first have to graduate and get registered before writing those exams.
And, depending on your year of study, it could be upwards of 5 years from now.

My honest opinion anyway.

There is no way both of them could have turned out this way without all your little little silent approvals of their little harmless sins.

Is there no male figure from your side of the family you can talk to? Because for you to bring this matter to NL means you have burnt your bridge with their father's people.
Where is your pastor? Or someone they can respect because from your narration, they have learnt to cover for each other and are now forming their own counrty, soon to overthrow you.

Take them back to the village at this age? After they have blended with the streets this far? Good luck with that.

You nailed it .
There must have been a soured relationship between her and her in-laws that she did not mention them.
Single moms especially should know that stern discipline is needed to bring up boys.

The iron is cold now and difficult to bend. I think the boys need a serious talking-to by a figure they respect a lot.

Or much better, as suggested here, distribute them among uncles or friends that will be willing to reverse the trend.
Car Talk / Wrong Car Problem Diagnoses And Eventual Solution To Problem by Nyceguy92: 4:12am On Jun 07, 2022
Have you had issues with your vehicle when your mechanic told you to replace parts which did not solve the problem?
Have you also had the experience where, maybe, you went to another mechanic and it came out that the initial diagnosis was wrong and you only needed just very small amount to you fix your car problem?

This situation happens all the time and if we share our experiences here, we may make more informed decisions in future.
So tell us about your car problems and how you solved them eventually.

I once had very little braking power and my pedal was flooring.
I went to a reputable auto workshop that concluded my front brake calipers were binding and needed replacing.
Not a big deal as I can do a brake job. But that did not solve the problem so I spent money for nothing .

I went to another mechanic who found out my problem was the brake booster: it was leaking air.
Booster was replaced and brake was excellent thereafter.

Now this bombshell. Recently I began to have a hammering noise from the rear that increased and decreased with speed.
I was almost sure it came from the shaft or the wheel bearing.

One big auto shop I went to said I needed to replace the rear subframe after showing me a minor defect in the frame. I was not convinced because that did not explain the dynamic nature of the noise.

My regular mechanic was sure it was the rear differential going bad. After replacing rear differential, the noise persisted.
Now there is this elderly man on my street that does repairs at home. He used to have a workshop but closed it for lack of accountability by his employees. I went to him. He threw a mat underneath the car and disappeared to check things.
In less than 3 minutes, he came out with his verdict.

Guess what I have spent so much money on to no avail: the emergency brake cable was rubbing on the wheel on driver's side and causing the noise. I then recalled that I had complained to my mechanic that the emergency brake was not working and he tried to follow the cable to see if it was broken. He must have dislodged the clip or whatever mechanism that held the cable in place away from the wheel.

All that was done was move the cable away and secure it somehow. You can imagine how very little it cost me as I did not buy ay parts.

The lesson here is that car problems can spring a surprise and mechanics do make wrong diagnoses that cost us unnecessarily, especially if they did not take time to do a thorough inspection. It won't hurt to seek a second, or even third, opinion before embarking on repairs that may be expensive. This is more so if you doubt the diagnosis. Also go to experienced and trusted hands.

Hope this helps.

This condition occurs due to irritation and subsequent infection of hair follicles from shaving or barbing hence the word "barbae" in its name.

All you need is better hygiene with your shaving tools and some steroid and antibiotic skin cream or ointment.

Get Kenacomb cream or Neomedrol lotion. Apply once or twice daily. This will quieten the irritation/ itching. Your local pharmacist should be able to help you with a suitable antibiotic cream.

However, visit your doctor if no improvement after one week.

I am surprised at the number of people praising his risky adventures. Obviously these are individuals with like minds.

All the money he lost to dupes plus his latest savings could have started something tangible for him at home. Not a few have that much yet they live okay.

As far as I can see, he hasn't done anything to beat his chest about. Renting out Keke or Taxi is something Nigerians do all the time.

There are lots of trade one can learn that are hot cakes. If I have to go to school again, or learn a new trade, one area I would like anyone who cares to go into is auto repairs with emphasis on diagnostics. Soon car maintenance and repairs will get beyond the capabilities of the regular roadside mechanic or " rewire."

He could have gone into the foodstuff business with that huge amount. Last time I made some serious enquiries, 5 million naira could establish a profitable bakery with medium size equipment.

Our youths should avoid the desperation to "make it." . The grass is not always greener on the other side. Let's not hear stories that touch when, out of frustration because things didn't turn out as expected, drug peddling gets into the mix. The consequences are obvious.
