The Super Falcons have been placed a distant 10th in the round of 16, the knockout stage of the 2023 Women FIFA World Cup. Japan, Sweden, Netherland, England, etc were ranked top of the bunch. The ranking considered all aspects of the game. Those who watched the matches, full or highlights, will agree that Japan deserves the top position. They are simply good and deadly with very accurate passes and well directed level shots. You could see the goal coming. Much as I support my home team, my fear is that the falcons don't bite much. They are not a high-scoring team yet they waste a lot of chances. What's the madness about curving the ball in front of the goal posts. Most annoying is making a cross that goes directly in the goalkeeper's hands instead of dropping it in the “region of death.” This is how to know when a player is using his/her brain instead of the foot. I pray we win to progress to the next stage. I also pray the team doesn't become complacent if it starts with a lead. Who are these mystery beggars that seize every opportunity to annoyingly insert their begging on every thread? The begging uses similar format, but different ailments, names, and bank account info. I just saw an appeal by one Angela, who is down with malaria and typhoid fever, and has no money for drugs. When did malaria and typhoid fever qualify as ailments for public assistance? Yet this beggar has an android phone and maintains a social media account. What baffles me is that these appeals get "thumbs up" or "likes', even shared. And I wonder what such gestures imply. Or is this a side hustle by the managers of Nairaland? |
Saying the governor should start from ground zero and not carry out any probe is wrong. Without doing so, impurities will continue. Misappropriation of fund and conversation of public property to self should not be allowed. |
INEC’s counsel, Abubakar Mahmood, was equating the statistical idea employed in quality control with a credibility issue. Both are not the same. Even if INEC erased the presidential election data in one BIVAS machine only, that's enough to nullify the election results. I have read very laughable defences put up here by some nonentities. Not all Nigerians are stupid. |
olatade:Well deserved rest indeed. From May 29 (inauguration) to today is roughly 3 weeks. Recall he came back from resting just before inauguration. Isn't it to early for another rest, as you mentioned? At the rate of one rest for 3 weeks of work, that would be several resting sessions in a year. |
We must be sincere to ourselves. How else would a ship enter our waters and illegally load crude oil over and over again without the conivance of the the watchdogs? Who are the watchdogs? Asari was bold enough to echo what is already common knowledge. |
Does the president not always have the road to himself and well-maintained new cars, so from where is the fire coming? Soon, he will add bulldozers to his fleet. |
I am happy for you. It's posts like this that we prefer on this forum. Better than guys asking rhetorical questions like "Guys, do you sleep with one or both eyes closed," "Ladies, would you marry a man whose mom is still alive?" I presume the tomato bed in the picture is for the seedlings only. If that is your actual growing bed, I would say the plants are heavily congested.

Rayban25:Exactly my thoughts. Question is: In what capacity and on what basis did he have to meet members of the NASS? I would ask same question if the president were from my village. I hope we won't have another pompous son of a president who intimidated senior civil servants and awarded numerous but abandoned and inflated contracts to his friends. The wellbeing of Nigerians far exceeds ethnic and other skewed interests. |
accordadoga28:Ordinarily, I would not waste precious time responding to posts such as you put up here. But I am forced to ask if you read the brief biodata of the prof., because if you did, you would have known that he deserves every commendation and birthday wishes he gets. You have only been on this forum less than 3 months and less than14 hours total, but you have spewed more trash than most of us who have been around for years. You hide behind the faceless social media to say things you wouldn't ordinarily say to even the lowest of his staff. If you celebrate other people's success, yours will be celebrated, too. Be wise. |
This post is couched in plenty of technical terms and word play. I bet most people who tried to scan or read it did not understand it. The federal government must plug corruption loopholes, account for monies generated, and reduce size of government. |
They are a bunch of indolent misfits lucky to be in office. Can they swear that they or their family members have never used second-hand clothes before. Even in developed countries, Thrift stores exist that sell fairly used clothing, shoes, furniture, kitchen utensils, etc. The used "anything" market can never go away. By the way, do Customs have the authority to determine what gets banned or imported. Is that not the prerogative of the federal government? |
yolada:You are so obnoxious. I get the hint that you deliberately put up this post to stir up reactions. At 22 years of age, you dropped out of school yet you claim to have 1 million naira. You should be in school. I hope you are not the proverbial prodigal son going away to squander resources. |
Nahunger:Really? No matter how you skew your reasoning, the truth remains that the wife of the president remains his wife only and has no business in official deliberations. The president has protocols to follow. Are you saying that when service chiefs discuss classified security matters with the president, he can invite his wife to sit in? At a time when Nigerians are questioning the constitutionality of the Office of the First Lady, you are extending it by implying the First Lady can sit at official meetings of the president. |
Kobojunkie:Lol...Bros, did you see the part in the original post that said "dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant?" Dad did it. You appear to suggest, from your argument, that if a student was asked in test to write about Photosynthesis, it's fine if the student wrote about Fertilization in Plants. |
Best way to handle a younger one who is so stubborn and disrespectful is to exert your seniority over him/her. Start by withdrawing the privileges he enjoys. If that doesn't work, you may be forced to "teach" him a lesson to reset his brain. Period. If you wait for your mom to issue a permit to deal decisively with the problem, you will be wasting your time. |
Kobojunkie:You are allowing your imagination to run wild by bringing in the sperm bank into this matter. It has already been established that the girl has a living biological father. So sperm donation does not apply here. Surely you must be one of those born and bred in the city, who are not in tune with the formal ways their people go about the business of marriage. If you don't know, ask questions and you shall receive wise counsel. |
Solution to this matter is deeply rooted in the prevailing tradition of your fiancee's community. As long as you know that the biological father is still alive and can be located, you cannot carry out marriage rites without his knowledge. It is not entirely your fiancee's role to dictate who you see. In fact, the biological stepfather should actually be the one to advise you to go see the girl's father. After the marriage, you can decide which of the fathers you want to deal more with going forward. |
Please somebody enlighten us: What does the clearance say? And did the U.S Embassy get involved in a matter that was decided in the court? |
CuriousCart:Exactly my view. What actually do happens is that those affected would want to avoid the incident. Reasons for divorce are many and individualized. And there is no proven scientific way to support an assumption that divorced home means divorced females. |
Stoplying:Ever heard of, even been to, Heathrow, Gartwick, MSP, Calgary, Tokyo, Osaka, etc. These are international airports that, going by their names, you can easily deduce where they are located. I see leaders who occupy themselves with renaming of institutions and places as insufficiently engaged with greater issues of state. Period. |
Honestly, I am not a fan of all these lengthy, windy naming of public infrastructures and institutions. All over the World, airports are named according to their locations. This makes it easy to appreciate and situate where are located. Whay the obsession with this latest exercise? |
Those who are familiar with international diplomacy will realise that it is only expedient for the U.S to representatives to the occasion. It doesn't negate the fact that the presidential election is disputed in court. Not attending would appear the U.S has already taken sides. So no need for badmouthing on this account. |
Here is what I would do and it boils down to evidence, witnesses, and hard work. She has told you. Ask her to also confide in a few other individuals such as close friends and her pastor/priest. She must record their phone calls to show when he is pestering or threatening her. When she has collected enough evidence, she should tell him 'NO' in blunt terms. He may suspect she is "connected" and back off. As we all know how it may end, he may fail or score her very low in the exams. Consequently, your sister must study hard to do well in his courses and be sure to keep record of attendance and haven written the exams. Recall that in most sexual harassment or rape cases in the U.S, the victims told their friends, who became witnesses. |
JungleJustice01:Seeing you have many responses to read here, I will be brief and straight to the point. Discuss with your brother the need to renovate house, the cost, financing, and how to recoup expenses. If you foot the bill alone, fairness requires that you benefit from the rent thereafter until such a time you decide to stop. If you are concerned he will feel bad about this, tell him you are going to get a loan, which needs paying back. I see you are concerned about your wife and kids having access hereafter. In the absence of a will, house belongs to you and your brother. Impress this fact on your brother. As you don't want to involve a lawyer or paperwork, discuss above with your brother in the presence of your wife. Make an audio recording of the meeting with the knowledge of your brother. After renovation, divide the property between the two of you. It's fair and just. It appears all the cars, rent, and the little your brother makes from his job is not enough for him that you continue to support as you said. Is he extravagant? I understand the implications of being an SS. I also assume he is single as you didn't mention his marital status. On the whole, my understanding is that you do not want your brother to feel offended when you confront him with the problems you have seen. Question is; If this between two other brothers, hiw would you advise? |
clockwisereport:Pictures, especially group pictures, are part of the proof. Besides, individuals in the group NYSC pictures aren't ghosts; they are usually colleagues. I have mine and I still remember people who served in my area. |
I don't see the difficulty in Dr Mbah proving he actually served. Every corper who did the 1 year stint had colleagues in the camp, area of primary assignment, pictures and other personal collections to show for it. But if Dr Mbah did not actually serve, but managed to procure a lookalike certificate from NYSC staff, his name may not be on the system because it did not pass through the official Chanel. On the other hand, the NYSC must show/ explain to us the security features missing in Dr Mba's certificate that rendered it unacceptable. I am curious to know who is lying in the end. |
Joyoustimmy:You said it all . It's annoying how quickly ignorant people say "sell the car." There are cheap anticorrosion treatments available. I hope OP sees this. Addendum: As a matter of fact, my car has a similar problem on one of the terminals. I am going to clean it and apply White Lithium Grease on the terminals. It should work. |
If I were the governor, I would have established a garment and shoe factories within my first 2 years in office. Wonder what the numerous Special Advisers were doing. |

In the recent interview Mr Peter Obi had on Arise TV, he made it clear who is the LP chairman. You cannot be the chairman of a party and you have not met the presidential candidate of your party. " I have not met him and he is not looking for me," Obi said. Leadership is not by force. |
theamazonguru:I see. It has now become a money pit. |
