Those who come here to bash the OP are hypocrites. Deep down their hearts, whether it is their first, second, or third child, they had secretly wished it was a boy or girl. Every child is precious no doubt and I know that if there is a foolproof method to influence the order of the sex of children, most people will rush for for it. So why pretend such thoughts never crossed your mind. The OP wishes his first baby to make and wants help. It happens that human biology and nature can be tinkered with sometimes. When you take all sorts of stuff to boost fertility and pain killers, you are tinkering with your body biology. The OP can take advantage of the characteristics of of the sperm bearing the X or Y chromosome as stated in most fertility books. X+ Y chromosomes = male; X+ X chromosomes = female. The Y chromosome bearing sperm is said to travel faster up the female genital tract. It is also said to not be as rugged as the the ' X' and dies off more easily. So it boils down to timing; if the sperm gets there and there is no egg to fertilize, it will die after it's time is up , leaving the X chromosome bearing sperm in the race. Simply put, if the time of ovulation is synchronized with the arrival of the 'Y' sperm, bang, mostly a male baby. So the timing of the man sleeping with the woman must not be too early before ovulation. Better later than early since the Y sperm will always get there first. Some people think the sexual position counts; that if the woman positions herself in a way that makes for deeper penetration and sperm deposition, chances for a male baby is increased. I hope many people find this helpful. It's nothing new; only threw some explanations behind why we do what we do. |
Toks2008:That's putting it mildly. Some time ago, it was " Ladies, will you marry a man whose parents are still alive?" And some people actually responded like it was an exam question. Too many desaturated brains moving around as humans. |
Redundant posts like this keep appearing on this forum. It is so annoying. So the ladies will choose to marry a man after they must have ascertained his income. Most middle level civil servants earn in the region of 50K monthly yet they have families and children in schools. What happened to building together with your spouse? If a man is honest and hard-working, there will be ladies falling over each other to marry him. |
People of Nairaland, some of you really baffle me. I urge you to, first, digest and analyze a post before making your comments. How feasible was it that a man maintained an election while forcefully raped to coma by a bunch of women? The OP just made up this folktale to keep you guys busy. |
Feelings79:The benefits of listening to the radio cannot be overemphasised. It is one of my favorite ways to relax, especially lying down in the bedroom or alone somewhere. As of today, I have at least five good quality portable receivers that include clock radios and short wave receivers. Sometimes I give out to those who will appreciate them. I am happy for you that listening to the radio had such great positive impact in you. Cheers. |
It is surprising that some people do not listen to the radio regularly. I listen to the radio not only for the music and information, but also to learn how people use languages during interviews, drama, panel discussions, personality profiles, etc. I used to have a timetable for programmes like Reggae Time on Radio Rivers 2, FM by Mavelous Macaulay, drama on IBC( Imo State), 20 Questions, and a Philosophy panel discussion on ABC (Anambra), and all the music Jam sessions on various stations I could receive on my radio. I loved to listen to BBC, Radio France International, Radio Netherlands, etc. In order to increase my reception, I connected my radio antenna to the house zinc roof. Agreed most of the radio stations have been politicized and only sing praises of the person in office, there are those that still offer good programs. Even with TVs and online streaming movies readily available, listening to the radio is very educative as well as entertaining. Make it a habit. |
What is an engineer like you doing in a nightclub? You can't grow there professionally and the future is not guaranteed. Berlin is your best choice. |
This incident, if it was true, calls to question the protocol of the said university for obtaining and handling dead bodies for Anatomy dissection. What we are made to understand here is that the Anatomy department was so short of cadavers that shortly after acquiring a body, it released it to students for dissection. Cadavers normally go through some sort of treatment including embalming to preserve it. That the woman woke up just before being cut meant that her body was never 'treated.' Talk of exposing the students to the risk of contracting any infection that may be present. It is unacceptable. |
I hope you see this. OP, in the midst of the many confusing opinions expressed already. What I see in the picture is Scabies infestation. The age, itching, and that crusty honey-like area in the finger web is classic. I will not concern myself with the treatment, which is simple. I leave that to your doctor or pharmacist. It would be nice if you update us after treatment. |
Let me thank you for assisting your sister. The problem with coming here to ask for opinions, which isn't a bad idea, is that some nonentities will turn it into a joke by their laughable suggestions. As suggested by others, it all depends on what your sister likes to do. But if the overriding consideration is quick profit, I have two areas that I will go into myself if I am involved. If she does not look down on it or see it as beneath her, she should go into food business. Turnover is fast and she can run it with one assistant if need be. Another is a one-stop shop that caters to the needs of families and school children. I mean a shop that combines beverages with biscuits, soap, body lotion, tin tomatoes, indomie etc. I guess you catch my drift now. This is more "psychedelic" compared to foodstuff business. All she needs is a location with mostly pedestrian traffic. It doesn't have to be the city. Fashion and Design requires some apprenticeship, unless she intends to hire staff. In that case, equipment and furnishing will gulp most of the capital. I hope this helps. |
What a redundant post. Out of boredom or lack of something productive to do, some people would float outright irrelevant threads just to populate the web. The insinuation that to be an only child means mommy's boy is wrong. There are many mommy's boys who are not only sons. In any case, there is hardly any relationship between being an only son and the likelihood of getting rejected by women. Women marry the man, not his order of birth in his family. One day, somebody will ask us if we sit on the right side of our buttocks first or the left. A useless question. |
Those people who say the OP should follow his heart are not helping at all. Here is somebody who needs sound advice in order to make a life-changing decision and they are throwing the issue back at him. I would continue with the secondary school as the pay is higher and comes with the mentioned benefits. I would have chosen otherwise if it were a public university. Most private universities are like private companies; there is little job security and salaries don't come regularly. Stay with the sec school please |
The OP was lacking in relevant specifics. He spent an unusual amount of space on socials and what appeared to be a duplication of The Handbook of Higher Education in Ukraine. No mention was made of language problem if any, what the professors are like, and types and rates of accommodation . What steps would a prospective student take? Is the $1800 the cost of an entire course, for a semester, or what? In any case, I wouldn't sent my ward to Ukraine to study. I don't think they are that good or better than Nigeria. |
Kusheer:I was going to ask the same question. It is bad journalism and writing habit to not define acronyms and abbreviations , etc, and assume that readers already know or are in the same environment as the writer. This trend is rampant on NL. |
Vasectomy is alien to the culture of Nigerians. OP must have copied from some gossip magazine overseas. You are not under obligation to post if you don't have something original and interesting. |
What kind of wife are you looking for? Do you think your cousin can reliably find a wife for you? If the said lady is a citizen, you may become citizen by derivation. I guess this is the attraction for you. But are you ready to deal with the idiosyncrasies of a Nigerian girl born and bred in the U.S., especially if you are the traditional type? You have not seen, /dated this lady so you can study her in person: her temperament, housekeeping abilities, etc. I guess as a (medical) student, you have a few female friends that you have interacted with and who could make good wives. My advice is to not commit to anything. Be friends only for now. Most importantly, when you graduate and start practising , your sense of value of women and beauty will change. You will come across lots of really nice ones that you might blame yourself for making a hasty decision. |
Greatzeus:I thought so, too. There has been a preponderance of fake, majority poorly written, stories on Nairanland just to keep us unnecessarily busy. OP would have included the job position he applied for. Besides, organisations abroad always place ability to perform over religion/denomination. No human resource manager could have uttered these lies the is feeding the gullible ones here. |
[quote author=JAMZ1 post=93857883]What an eye sore! I feel like vomiting right now. At the root of this mess is students' barbaric act of disposing refuse anywhere, and lack of regular water supply to flush the toilets. This is pure pigsty. |
I wonder whose decision it was to paint the building this harsh deep blue. The colour alone is enough to give one epileptic attacks. |
BabaRamota1980:Sorry I didn't get your drift. My confusion is : when the uni kicks off, what subjects/ courses are students going to study there? And what is the importance/relevance of a university of transportation? |
Could somebody enlighten me the relevance of a university of transportation in Nigeria. And what sort of programs is going to offer. |
Lol... Even lawn mowers are hot selling items, in Nigeria? The OP merely reproduced a list from somewhere. And even with millions of cash at his disposal, he wouldn't venture into lawn mower import business. |
The OP wants advice on how to maximize 3 million naira for a 3-bedroom house and someone is mentioning screeding and POP. If you must build in same flood zone , you will need a high floor level. You will need a simple building plan designed by yourself It's not hard. Buy your materials and supervise the work yourself. Use local direct labor available. As others have said, overall cost depends on the type of materials such as roofing sheets you plan to use. Please do not waste money reinforcing the existing house since your people will move from there soon. Good luck. |
The problem with seeking advice online from a general , non- specialist forum is that you get confused because everyone will want to say something. First off, do not mind those advising you to connect your fans directly to the ignition. Your fans are supposed to work on/off depending on the engine temperature. Secondly, whether your thermostat is stuck open or closed, i do not think it has anything to do with the overheating. In cold weather, you won't get warm air in the car if your thermostat malfunctions. I suggest you reverse any new wiring introduced by the "rewire." Most importantly, check your water pump and radiator. Perhaps they are not working fine or clogged. I have a guy who replaced top cylinder gasket 3 times due to overheating. What solved the problem was a new radiator. Please come back here with feedback so we know what solved the problem. Good luck. |
Not all who call themselves Christians think in a straight jacket fashion like the rest. People enjoy listening to some music either for their mood, lyrics/message and the beat or both. Makosa music is one example. Please listen to "You Are the Same" by Sinach, a gospel song, and tell me what you think about that guy rapping in a heavy guttural voice. Is any different from Buju Banton or General Trees? It is boring listening to/ watching only one genre of music/movies. In life, you cannot tell the bad from the good unless you have seen it. Besides, one is not under obligation to do as the music or movies say. |
How many times shall we read false info like this on NL? So during the fight, the man just laid paralyzed on the floor while the wife bit his manhood off? Where is picture evidence. Pity those who are bamboozled by this waste of our time. |
I find it hard to believe your story, especially the aspect that your girlfriend does not want you to "hustle." I am yet to meet a lady who does not want her man to hustle, which I take to mean a parlance for working hard and being creative. As some respondents have already mentioned, story is incomplete. Where is the "good" and how have things turned out positively for you that wouldn't have been possible had your girlfriend still been around? As I see it, you are still in status quo ante. |
I don't see the need for the ovation and publicity. Elsewhere, government taking care of it's mentally ill ones is routine. I would be more impressed it were a private individual using his or her personal resources to perform this task. |
The call to immortalize a personality should come from the masses on account of his/her accomplishments. Any legislative house that spends time on bills to name/rename an infrastructure in favour of anyone is not worth its salt. Elsewhere, law makers pay more attention to environmental impacts, consumer protection, corporate hanky panky, the food industry, etc. |
Oritzy:Lol... My babe still dey intact. But them no fit as failure awaits them even before they try. |
Marriage presumes that both man and wife shall become one, meaning, for example, that there should be no more secrets/hidden agenda. However, how much a wife knows about her husband - say, what he does for a living or where he works, etc - depends on the curiosity and willingness of the wife to find out. Often, when a kidnapper, armed robber or fraudster husband is eventually arrested, the wife would claim no knowledge of her husband's nefarious activities. Can a fraudulent husband in all honesty completely and effectively hide his activities from his wife for such a long time? Wives, how much do you know about the source of wealth of your stupendous rich husband? Or, in order to not disrupt the flow of ever ready cash and expensive gifts and lifestyle, you decide to play dumb and blind to the fact? The majority opinion is that the wives know that their husbands wealth was ill-gotten but choose to keep sealed lips. How can a man who keeps queer friends and goes out and returns at odd hours of the night in the name of doing business not arouse suspicion. If you ask me, it definitely should. |
