“We later heard from the manager of the restaurant that some days ago, some two Nigerians came to the restaurant and asked to be served, after they handed them the menu, they looked through it and left. We concluded they possibly didn’t recognize the food or what to order.

“Just a few days after, the business place was sealed up, without the Commission asking for our response to any allegation against us.
This must be the lamest denial I've come across in ages.

So whose fault?

The govt or the residents?

How many of the residents even have an idea of the consequences of settling around the area? I understand even a secondary school is there, so what are we saying?

Rules are not just made, they are also enforced. In enforcement of rules, the govt need not give a damn about individuals as long as they are violators. They can make all the noise, but the rule must be enforced.

If there are no strict enforcement of the rule stopping people from building houses under high tension power transmission cables, you think there wouldn't have been settlements and markets directly under those cables?

Did the govt make any effort to stop people from residing in the vicinity of the gas pipeline?

Were those lands sold without the approval of town planners?
I doubt those buildings were directly within the route corridor of the pipeline. The explosion was just massive and affected structures even far away.

So ur equating prisoners and militants to terrorists?
U think their ideologies r the same?
..and how did I equate militants and terrorist? I said it's international practice to rehabilitate terrorists who surrender. This isn't the first govt to do that, even the past Nigerian government did the same thing (i.e. rehabilitate and release boko haram). Nowhere in my statement did I say it was 'right' to do that.

How exactly did you read my above statement and interpret it as me "making excuses" or supporting terrorist rehabilitation?

Nigerians are fond of this fallacy, you correct an erroneous statement and it's instantly interpreted as 'defending' or 'making excuses'; is it now a crime to say a truth in Nigeria?

You should also direct that question to amnesty international, US government, Nigerian governments (past and present) and other international human rights organisations that have been attacking our military for killing captured terrorist fighters.

This, in my opinion, is the only reasonable bill to be proposed by the rubber stamp Senate since its inception. Sadly, it is coming a little late. [s]Tribalism has made you sense.less. Who told you that those Boko Haramites genuinely repented? Besides, what Guardian wrote about the 40 percent of the loan that will be given to the loan facilitators is true. No country has ever rehabilitated terrorists. They kill them to serve as a deterrent to others, and that's what Niger Republic did recently. So, stop writing trash. The PDP government didn't rehabilitate terrorists. Niger Delta militants were not terrorists. They agitated that their region was ravaged by oil spillage, gas flaring, and environmental degradation, but the government didn't listen to them. Go there and see things for yourself. The resources are from their region, but they're in perpetual pernury. So, they were freedom and resource control fighters. The best government should have done was to entrench fiscal federalism, but it didn't do that. The North benefits from their resources. The highly influential Northern personalities own oil wells in the Niger Delta, while little or nothing came to their people. And that's injustice. Could you please tell me the genuine reason Boko Haram terrorists had (or still have) for killing people? Even Niger Delta militants didn't kill innocent Nigerians living in the Niger Delta. They only focused on destroying government and multinational companies' oil installations, and at times, the soldiers were killed because they wanted to kill them. Your point is pointless. You're filled with tribalism.[/s]
What sort of mannerlessness makes a person to jump into a conversation with insult? What tribe do you even assume I am and what in God's name even brought tribe into this discussion? First evidence of your senselessness is you bringing up tribalism into an issue that has absolutely nothing to do with tribe. *spits*

When I said the previous govt also rehabilitated terrorists, who said I was talking of ND militants? See how you went on an endless tirade talking about ND militants without even knowing what I was talking about. I was referring to boko haram terrorists, they were offered amnesty by GEJ, the ones who surrendered were also rehabilitated. Most of those terrorist who they say are being rehabilitated and released today, their rehabilitation started before 2015, the current government only continued in a program started by its predecessor.

What do you mean by "whether Boko Haramites genuinely repented"? Did I mention it to you anywhere that bokoharam repented genuinely or not? Did I tell you I'm in support of rehabilitating terrorists? angry I only said it was international practice to rehabilitate or try to deradicalise terrorists who willingly surrender. Obailala did not make the law, Obailala does not support the law, but it is what it is. Where were you when Nigeria was sanctioned by the US and blocked from procuring weapons to fight bokoharam on the accusation of 'extrajudicial killings' of captured terrorist. Also where were you when amnesty international and other similar human right's organisations were on the neck of Nigeria for killing captured terrorists? Even some soldiers involved in that were court-marshaled not too long ago. I guess it was Buhari that sanctioned Nigeria no be so?

Finally you mentioned that "what Guardian wrote about $9 billion consultancy fee is true", on what basis did you come to that conclusion that $9billion is paid as consultation fee? In the history of the world, where has that ever happened?... and why is such a catchy story not being debated or even reported anywhere else besides the forgotten editorial in Guardian online newspaper? You must surely be a part of those who negotiated the deal, that must explain why you're so sure of the inside details.

So which islamic terrorists have America or europe rehabilitated?

And pls which terrorists did GEJ rehabilitate?
Was it not the same useless American government that sanctioned Nigerian government for extra judicial killing of captured boko haram terrorist? Also where were you when amnesty international and other similar human right's organisations were on the neck of Nigeria for killing captured terrorists? Even some soldiers had to be court-marshaled for that not long ago. Was it not the same American government that blocked every avenue of Nigeria buying weapons to fight bokoharam on the basis of human rights abuses against captured terrorists?

You asked which terrorist GEJ freed, who was Nigeria's president in 2013 -2014? Did the Nigerian government then not even grant amnesty to boko haram members who were willing to surrender? Or you probably couldn't afford internet data in 2013/2014 to know these? The current rehabilitation program (or whatever it's called) for boko haram fighters was a program started before 2015; the guy's being released recently started their rehabilitation before 2015.

It is for that reasons he has ministers and a deputy to help him pilot the affairs of state and make policies on his behalf. Don't put words in my mouth. I never said he shouldn't attend. What I said is as leader of the delegation since he is of higher rank than a minister, if there are agreements to be signed, is he going to order the minister to sign or sign himself? Mind you, a CoS has no business ordering a minister except an order passed through him by the president. That's the anomaly of his presence in the meeting with the minster. It automatically means the minster answers to him in the meeting which is not the intendment of the constitution where the minister is expected to answer to the president or his vice in some cases but never to the CoS who is not even mentioned in the constitution.
Smh! ...And where exactly did the report say that the CoS is ordering a minister around based on his own authority (and not from the president)? I'm taking my time out to reply you because you talked reasonably well enough with points and not insults.

Because I think you are educated, I believe you know the role of 'intention' in the judgment of an act. Apart from the action, what was the intention of the subject?

Was Sanusi's utterance reasonable and justified few months to a general election?

Was his action wholly patriotic with no agenda meant to serve?

Would you have been all cool if you were GEJ and your employer said such things very close to a general election that carried the kind of heat that 2015 elections carried?

Do you think Godwin Emefiele would do that to Buhari?

Well, I agree with you that GEJ or his cabals like you chose to call them, could have handled the issue better but my people say when one bites your head without caring about your hairs, you wouldn't mind biting him back at the anus without caring about faeces.

GEJ is still human las las.

But he had good intentions backed with good policies that gave this country direction.

I'm unemployed and never benefitted a kobo from GEJ.

I'm just a Nigerian in tears for my country that took steps 30 years backwards.
A very important point of correct! SLS did not raise the issue of unaccounted NNPC funds 'few months' to elections as you claim. That issue was raised sometime in mid-2013 and the next elections were in 2 years time. SLS was eventually sacked by GEJ in February 2014 (still far from elections) - get your facts right. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-26270561

Did he have good intentions?
Let's throw away sentiments and examine the situation from a practical perspective. You're the accountant/treasurer of an organisation and a large chunk of money is received but you're cut out of the loop. What will be your reaction? Are you aware SLS would look like a fool himself if auditors arrive and he as the CBN governor cannot give account of NNPC funds?

From records, it was clear that he followed official channels several times demanding to get an account of the funds from the petroleum ministry / NNPC but was blankly locked out. He of coursed directed requests to the president by writing letters which were ignored / thrown out. At the end of the day, if you remember the events, the contents of one of the letters was leaked to the press (by whoever).

After the leak, the fact remains that GEj handled the situation very poorly and that's why it became a scandal. As president, all he could have done was make a standard political statement - "it will be investigated", and then set up a committee to investigate and boom! the matter dies a natural death. But instead, the first impulsive reaction from GEJ was to start lamenting that the CBN governor was working for political opponents and saying rubbish. Haba!
