This one na mumu 'fact check'; she clearly made the statement ascribed to her about seeing dead bodies on the streets in Africa. But then, instead we Africans to simply take that as a warning and do the needful, people are more obsessed with attacking a messanger.

Imagine warning.

Very in-sensitive, non-empathetic government.

Is there no other way you can urge people to stay home other than drawing our attention to the sad reality of what is going on in other countries?

Have respect for the innocent lives lost in those countries please

You urge us to stay indoors but what have you provided us with?

No electricity for comfort, no water supply, no FOOD, no money.

Foolish people and their supporters
Okay since there's no electricity to be comfortable at home, you're free to go outside to kill yourself and let a disease wipe out your entire clan since all you can see from this crisis is a 'We vs. They' fight against government.

People are dying like chickens in their thousands in developed countries which even have far more robust healthcare systems than ours. But in our country we still have a massive number of both educated and uneducated, treating a clear and present danger with so much levity. If it were people who couldnt afford to feed in a lockdown, that is very understandable, but instead we just have a lot of reckless Nigerians who are senselessly stubborn and rebellious, thinking everything must be a 'we vs. they' fight campaign.

If this is the only way Nigerians can understand the grave danger it portends, then there's absolutely nothing wrong with passing the warning citing those gory examples from those countries.

Do you know what it takes to reach the armoury of your enemies at war ?

Deby has cleared over 70% of Boko Haram before reaching their armoury.

It's not a joke like you put it.
In otherwords, 70-90% of bokoharam has been based in Chad all along, out of the reach/battle territory of Nigerian soldiers. Even their main armoury is based in Chad from where they launch devastating attacks against Nigeria and then retreat to their safe protected havens. No wonder Nigerian military has been unable to finish them off all these years.

It took BH attacking Chadian soldiers for once and killing over 90 of them before their govt could wake up to its responsibilities to fish out the BH camps; something which they should have done years ago. But mumu Nigerians are mocking Nigerian soldiers, because it's their destiny to be mumus.

Who told you that?

The very essence of Nigeria's economy and economic activities is tied to the price of oil in the world..

Petrol is currently N125 and you don't think oil prices matter?

Dollar to Naira is over N400 currently and you don't think oil prices matter? angry

Do you have the faintest idea of what Nigeria's economy scope entails? shocked
According to the reasoning of millions of educated and uneducated Nigerians, dollar rose to N400 strictly because the person in aso rock is a kunu sipping dullard. You'll be shocked at the number of adult educated Nigerians who have absolutely no clue on the link between oil and exchange rate.

Lack of meaningful education and enlightenment is the reason a lot of people think the price of oil doesnt affect them. This ignorant assertion isnt unique to you; millions of Nigerians both educated, highly educated and uneducated share this same ideology that oil price doesnt affect them. Afterall, if the economy crashes and price of basic commodities rise, we can lazily just blame 'government'.

The positive thing is that they are able to earn well. I met one that was working in first bank back in Nigeria and earning about 120k a month. Now she earns a little over 3.5k canadian dollars on the average working customer service after a lot of overtime. She is always stressed out sha. 3.5k is about 980k.
It looks like she is on course to save a lot of money before mid-year, and plans to visit Nigeria by July. She didn't tell me explicitly, but clearly she's going back to see how she can revive a few friendships back home that may lead to marriage. She is soooooo lonely. She cried sef. Eyah!
Making money and ending yp deptessed. I totally concur with this story, especially for Nigerians living in the western axis.

You don't know what you are saying. Nigerian doctors have been able to treat infected patients with this pandemic and they are doing quite well. You are part of those with inferiority complex because you can't think and handle issues on your own. How many African countries sought the help of China in this outbreak. you are one of the problems of this country.
There's nothing demeaning in seeking advice from the people who have the most experience in dealing with this particular disease. Countries far more developed than Nigeria are doing same. It may not have been necessary for them to be flown over, but Nigerians should chill; this shouldnt be an ego contest.

Oh yes, Nigeria has a small number of cases, but so did the UK and US just 3 weeks ago. Just over 3 weeks ago, the US had less than 500 cases; today the US has over 420,000 cases. It will be silly for us to wait till we have 420k cases before we start acting.

Inferiority complex might just be the reason you're fighting the truth. Whether they've eliminated it or not, the fact remains that they've succeeded in slowing the spread and flattening their new infections curve (something which many countries are still struggling to achieve). They've suffered from it the longest and they have the widest range of experience in dealing with it. That experience explains why greater developed countries like the US, UK, Italy, France etc are seeking help and advice from China, but a citizen of a shithole country thinks it's demeaning or degrading for his country to seek advice from China? Or probably you want us to wait till our number of cases rises exponentially before we do something right?

I wouldnt be surprised if you're one of those spreading whatsapp messages that gsm mast is the source of corona virus. undecided

so you mean Nigeria cannot handle her own problems by herself without the help of other countries. This is one of the reasons slave trade cannot stop in Africa until we learn to solve our own problems by ourselves without depending on other countries.
China happens to be the country with the most experience in dealing with this pandemic and countries all over the world, including far more developed countries than Nigeria have been seeking help from China in knowledge sharing, medicine, equipment etc. There's nothing shameful or embarassing, or dishonorable or degrading about Nigeria also seeking a knowledge share from a people more experienced in handling this disease.

Inferiority complex and just a pure lack of esteem seems to be the reason we have a multitude of Nigerians denouncing this, simply because they feel its a dick measuring contest.

Honestly I keep on seeing something fishy about the attention Nigeria is getting from international community about corona virus.

Nigeria with a very low incidence and these people do not go to where the problem is escalating?
May God protect us in this country.
Do we wait until the cases explode in Nigeria before we do something proactive?.... and where did you get that notion from that the Chinese arent being sought after by countries with higher cases?

Highly populated countries like Nigeria, and densely populated cities like Lagos and Kano are at high risk and need attention. Unfortunately a lot of Nigerians still live in the delusion that blacks or people in hot countries are immune. We currently have about 254 cases (which may seem small), but the US had a similar number just about 3 weeks ago and thought they were immune too; but guess what? They now have over 400,000 cases (within a space of a month).

U are a very smart person, I've been asking same question since and yet to get an answer.
What is special about Nigeria, our numbers are still small, we have other countries that have overwhelming cases, ( some countries even openly crying) for more medical personnels, yet still these Chinese chose not to go there.
Our government should be careful.
Nigerians should be careful.
Who told you those other countries arent seeking help from China?

However we want to look at it, there's nothing shameful or embarassing in seeking a knowledge share from Chinese doctors who happen to be the most experienced in dealing with this mess. Everything shouldnt be a dick measuring contest for Nigerians.

And then you said our numbers are still small, you want our number to explode exponentially before we do something about it?.... Of course a large majority of Nigerians still live in the delusion that blacks, or maybe those in hotter climates are immune. Are you aware that just over 3 weeks ago, the US had just about the same number of cases Nigeria currently has, but they now have over 400,000 cases, within less than a month.

However we want to look at it, Chinese doctors have the most experience dealing with this mess. We shouldn't always view everything as a dick measuring contest.
HealthRe: 15 Chinese Doctors Arrive In Nigeria by obailala(m): 8:37pm On Apr 08, 2020
How exactly was this turned into a dick measuring contest between Nigeria and china?

Chinese doctors, however we may look at it, have the most experience in dealing with this disease, and China somehow someway, happens to be one of the only countries about to succeed in containing it's spread. Countries all over the world (including those far more advanced than our shithole) are seeking advice from Chinese medical teams on how to tackle this crisis. What's wrong if Nigeria does the same?

It's better late than never my dear.
In 2015, Derby complained about the Nigerian army under Jonathan not doing enough. What has changed? How many times has Lt Gen TY Buratai PERSONALLY led military onslaughts against Boko Haram? I am not expecting Buhari to do what Derby did on account of his age and health status, but his commanders are not up and doing and THAT IS A FACT.
Even a top military official have had course to complain. So what people like us are mocking is poor leadership, not any particular individual.

You cannot rightly claim that there are still no BH camps in Nigeria, that they operate from neighbouring countries. Just as Idris Derby woke up to flush the militants from his territory, the Nigerian army should do the same

If not
Buhari should grow some balls and FIRE THE SERVICE CHIEFS
No doubt, the leaders on our side of the border have failed woefully too. Forget about the old cargo in aso rock; you cant expect a ball-less man to grow balls in his old vegetative state. But then again, the Chadian govt isnt any different.
PoliticsRe: Is Buhari Aiding Bokoharam? (pics) by obailala(m):
Nigerianization:
It is actually you that lack simple understanding of the fact that government is a continuum. The simple implication of my write-up is that the army under buhari should have occupied since then, but I guess you will still not understand because you lack common sense.
The ignorance of Nigerians using this onslaught by Chadian military to mock the Nigerian military stinks. The multinational joint task force initiative requires Nigeria to deal with bokoharam camps within Nigerian territory while Chad deals with bokoharam camps within Chadian territory.

But for years, what has Chad done? Most Bokoharam strongholds and camps are around the lake chad banks within Chadian territory. From these strongholds, they cross the border into Nigeria, unleash mayhem and then return to their safe haven. If Chad had done what they were meant to do a long time ago, BH would have been eliminated. But instead they've craftily used BH to milk money from Nigeria for years.

Just last week, BH attacked Chadian soldiers killing over 90 of them; this finally forced the Chadian president and military to wake up. Now here we are, Nigerians mocking the Nigerian military over this? Sometimes one doesnt know if its just politics or ignorance that really drives these comments.
