PoliticsRe: Shehu Sani - Those Agitating For Biafra Have Never Seen War by obailala(m): 6:02pm On Jun 05, 2017
DarkHenrie:
I find it very infuriating when they keep equating a call for secession with a call for war. It reeks of a profound ignorance on the part of most people in this country and displays a very disturbing undemocratic mindset we have around here.
As unfortunate and as infuriating as it may sound, there's wisdom in the words of those who warn agitators about the dangers of a potential secession war. Splitting a country isn't child's play anywhere in the world, don't be deceived. In the actual sense, the kind of systemic structures needed to achieve peaceful splitting of a country only exists in very-very-very-very few places globally, it certainly doesn't exist anywhere near Africa.

Even the Scottish referendum which is typically cited as an example of civility, that same Scotland has fought several wars for this same purpose but are still yet to achieve full independence (by the way, Scotland is already a country with its own laws, parliament etc, but they're currently only agitating for 'independence'). Even Nnamdi Kanu himself was quoted as saying he doesn't believe in the 'rubbish' called 'peaceful secession' because according to his history books, 'peaceful secession' has never been recorded anywhere before now. Sadly, he made a somewhat valid point which we should have in mind whenever we talk of a secession.

Nigeria today from the north to the west to the east and to the south is totally parasitic on Niger-Delta oil; do you really think Nigeria is civilised enough to fold its arms and watch as one group breaks away, taking away with it, a large chunk of the nation's 'feeding bottle'?... People who warn about a potential war aren't completely stupid as you think, trust me.
PoliticsRe: Shehu Sani - Those Agitating For Biafra Have Never Seen War by obailala(m):

You are making noise, Yes, its all noise. I am tired of sitting back and seeing you pricks making noise as if the better south needs a favor from you all. I am simply pointing out to you all that this war that you guying are threatening the SS/SE bloc with is absolutely your folly.

You can write an epistle, but I have no time for such nonsense. Ammunitions and bombs these days can be secured by juts anyone. So, you all should stop all these nonsense talks about War because Nigeria as a country can not even defeat Boko Haram, could not even defeat the militants. This war that you all are preaching about, you will be so surprise that you will wake up and realize there is no more funding for salaries, cos when the oil fields are deserted and become the target of those boys that do not care, then you all will realize the true nature of war far.

It will not be a war where Biafrans will face Nigeria army, but a war where Biafrans and the militants will face oil and gas installations and Gboooom! Gboom! Gbooom!!! All you will see is dark smokes covering the skies. The end of Oil and Gas. Ofcourse no IMF or World Bank will give Nigeria loans to wage a war, in fact Israel will come for the Igbos support. It is as simple as that. America is disorganized and now it is the rogue agents that will sell armors to highest bidder. Once militants care charge of oil installations and acquire jets and guns its all over.

You kids should stop these war cries. Cos you all will be surprise how many people will put up their resources to destroy these oil wells. Many people are not even happy how the wells are shared. So stop the nonsense and let us hear word.
A clearly evident fact from this your long post is that you didnt read a single thing I wrote, not even the first paragraph. You were obviously more concerned about 'responding quickly' because your brain apparently told you it was a more important thing to do to win an online argument; very typical of the black man, if you want to hide something from him, put it in writing.

I already made my point anyway, if you lack the patience to read, or the intellectual soundness to understand, then good luck to you and so be it.

Billyonaire:
You dont reason well friend. You dont need a Biafran army to take out the oil fields, you need a few militants here and there. That is what happened last time before Buhari calmed down and sent the junior Minister of Petroleum to seek peace. I do not like people threatening other trbes. I just pointed out that if this war you people are promoting was to happen, then Nigeria will never be the same again. The only thing keeping the country together is oil wealth. That is what makes our politicians disagree to agree. Let us not preach war. Cos a few dynamites here and there and we are all becoming like Somala. The SS/SE havent benefited much from oil so they will go about their normal ways of life after the war. There are sections of this country that cant even survive without allocation for 3 months.

Better to preach peace. Nigeria cant win a war against Biafra any more.
First of all, you are the one here who's clearly unable to articulate a simple issue. You mentioned that a war would be a walkover because all it takes is a few militants blowing up oil fields here and there and Nigeria's resources would be eroded; you claimed it had even happened before and Buhari went on begging. But what a smart person should have realised is that the SE is just as dependent on that same oil money like every other zone in Nigeria; if the pipelines are blown, it equally affects the resource flow of the SE. Just last year with the incessant economic sabotage, resources of the SE (and even SS) was equally eroded with only one SE state being able to pay salaries. It's quite amazing how so many people like yourself keep deluding themselves that the SE doesn't benefit from oil money but that every other zone in Nigeria does; and then we tell ourselves this lie so often to the point where we now believe it to be true.

Now here is the deal, nobody wants war, heck! nobody is even foolish enough to go into war. But then, something you ought to know is that splitting a country isn't child's play; the kind of systemic structures needed to achieve peaceful separation only exists in very-very-very few places globally, it certainly doesn't exist anywhere in Africa. So when you hear people talk about the possibility of a war due to these agitations, the people aren't wishing for war (or threatening war as you claim), they are only simply stating something which is most likely a certainty if the territorial integrity of a country must be broken.

If I'm to even quote Nnamdi Kanu himself, he clearly stated that he doesn't believe in the 'rubbish' called 'peaceful secession', he claims that from his history books, 'peaceful secession' has never been recorded anywhere before and sadly, NK made a somewhat valid point. Nigeria today is parasitic on Niger-Delta oil; you rightly mentioned that oil is the bone of contention / unifying factor still holding Nigeria together today. But then an agitation springs up to break Nigeria's territorial integrity, taking away a large chunk of Nigeria's 'feeding bottle' away?... You really think Nigeria would fold its arms, sit back and watch that happen without a fight?... A smart person should know the answer to that, and NO! I am not threatening a war as you alleged, I'm even an Igbo man myself and would be foolish to do that.

A few dynamites here and there on the oil fields and Nigeria runs out of external reserves in 6 months coupled with the present economic quagmires then the end shall come of the amalgamation.

This is going to be an economic war, a sabotage that will never be recovered from.
Remember both sides of the fence are funded by the same oil money. Blow things up and both sides go bankrupt.

Onyeama's job as the foreign minister is EXACTLY what he just did. As a Nigerian, if he chooses to condemn internal crisis occuring here and there, then he can also do that if he pleases, but 'foreign affairs' is his primary job description. As for FFK, oh yes, his statement is actually silly too (as usual); Nigeria and Nigerians also stand with the world against terrorism and we've had (and are still having) our fare share of terrorist attacks. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the statement of Onyeama. If FFK doesnt like Buhari or his government, it doesnt still change this fact about Nigeria standing against terrorism.

Will you keep quiet!

Let me say this again, since you are having a hard time understanding.

THIS CAN NEVER HAPPEN IN NIGERIA IN A MILLION YEARS.
Works on the Lagos-Ibadan section of the new Lagos-Kano standard gauge railway just recently commenced; the Calabar-PH section will be commencing soon too as I think counterpart funding has recently been released for it. And then again, about a year ago, Nigeria launched the Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge railway; the rail system was extensively used during the closure of the Abuja airport 2 months ago and I'm sure anyone who pays attention should have noticed that. All these projects (including the Kenyan one) were/are financed and built by the Chinese with funding from the Chinese Exim bank. So what exactly are you blabbing about?

First of all, all the things you listed are campaign 'promises'. It's a pity if you don't know the difference between a 'lie' and a promise which is yet to be kept.

Secondly, the 'I will make $1 = N1' promise is a lie, was just a political fabrication by a PDP scout to ridicule Buhari during the campaigns. The plan worked very well and to date, people still believe it was an actually statement made by GMB.

Thirdly, Lai Mohammed wasn't the one who made the statements you listed above from No. 1 to 14. Once again, it's a pity that you don't know the difference between a lie and a campaign promise.

I will;
1. Make regional integration a priority within ECOWAS including free trade with a view to ensuring that common tariff currency are in use by the end of my term in office, under Nigeria’s guidance and leadership, base on the size of its market force;

2. Maintain a strong, close and frank relationship within the Gulf of Guinea, the Commonwealth, South Africa and the rest of the world.
3. Establish a special relationship with the leading emerging markets like Brazil; Russia, India and China (BRIC) and other strategic partners around the world.

The Economy & Infrastructure Base On the Economy:
I will;
1. Maintain sound Micro and macro-economic policy environment, and run an efficient government and preserve the independence of the Central Bank;
2. Restore financial confidence in the citizens and the world, by putting in place a more robust monitoring, supervising, and regulating of the financial institutions;

3. Make our economy one of the fastest growing emerging economies in the world with a real GDP growth averaging at least 10-12% annually
4. As at 1999, Nigerian rate of unemployment stood at about 8%, today it is estimated from official statistics to be close to 30%. I will embark on vocational training, entrepreneurial and skills acquisition scheme for graduates along with the creation of Small Business Loan Guarantee Scheme to create at least 5 million new jobs by 2019. A Small and Medium Enterprises Development Commission will be created for this purpose. I will also encourage State Governments to focus on employment creation, by matching everyone job created in the same state.

5. Integrate the informal economy into the mainstream and prioritize the full implementation of the National Identification Scheme to generate the relevant data;
6. Expand domestic demand and will undertake associated public works programmes to achieve this goal;
7. Embark on export and production diversification including investment in infrastructure; promote manufacturing, through Agro Based industries; and expand and promote sub-regional trade through ECOWAS and AU;

8. Make Information Technology, Manufacturing, Agriculture and Entertainment key drivers of our economy, by reviewing the present reward system, which is based on certification, to that based on skills, competencies, and performances;
9. Balance the Nigerian economy across regions by the creation of 6 Regional Economic Development Agencies (REDAs) to act as sub-regional hubs in order to promote healthy regional competitiveness;

Put in place a N300bn Regional Growth Fund with an average of N50bn in each geo-political region; to be managed by the REDAs, to encourage private sector enterprise and to support places currently reliant on only on the public sector, to migrate to a private sector reality;

Amend the Constitution and the:
10. Land Use Act to create freehold/leasehold interests in land along with matching grants for states to create a nationwide electronic land title register on a state by state basis;
11. Create an additional middle-class of at least 4 million new home owners by 2019 by enacting a national mortgage single digit interest rates for purchase of owner occupier houses as well as review the collateral qualification to make funding for home ownership easier, with a 15 to 30 year mortgage terms. This will equally help our banking system migrate from short to long term perspective of their role in sustaining the economy.

12. Create a Social Welfare Program of at least Five Thousand Naira (N5000) that will cater for the 25 million poorest and most vulnerable citizens upon the demonstration of children’s enrolment in school and evidence of immunisation to help promote family stability.
13. Provide allowances to the discharged but unemployed Youth Corps members for Twelve (12) months while in the skills and entrepreneurial development programmes.

14. Equate N1.00 to $1.00

Oga stop fooling yourself in delusion. Google rail projects in Nigeria. It's not the first time we are having such plans which only ends in paper. The rail project you are hallucinating about is to be funded by the Chinese on lease. We are to provide 30% counterparts funding for them to do it. Nigeria does not have the money to meet up with the counterparts fund. We can only wish it happens. This administration has one year to go. Election starts next year and Nigeria will pause again. Alas, it's a circle of doom. Restructure this country and let every region build their region.
Exactly the same model which Nigeria employed to build the Abuja-Kaduna modern rail, that's exactly the same model Kenya has used for its own rail. Chinese supply bulk of the funds as loan and then build and operate the rail system. Nigeria is also employing exactly the same model for the Lagos-Kano and Lagos to Calabar rails. The project has been divided into phases with a plan to start with Lagos-Ibadan and Calabar-PH. The Chinese are also bringing bulk of the funds and I believe Nigeria has just paid some of its counterpart fund for the project. Abuja to Kaduna phase has been completed and is operational and I hear clearing of the right of way is currently ongoing to commence the Lagos-Ibadan section.

What have your governors been doing with their allocation over the years ?You watch them share the resources of Biafra among themselves, buy property abroad, send their children abroad. They award contracts at unimaginable prices to their friends and even abandon these contracts after payment. You look the other way, and Nnamdi Kanu will tell you to hate the Hausa and Yoruba, and blame them for your problem . It is even the EFCC led by people from outside Biafra that are coming to investigate and catch your leaders that have been looting your Biafran Land.
...
I asked this very bolded question to a friend recently and his response was epic; the response was "we have bad/unpatriotic/unfocused/clueless leaders all over Igbo land today because our leaders have always been chosen and influenced by the Yorubas and Hausas. But that when Biafra comes, we would ensure we choose only good/focused/patriotic people to lead without the Yoruba and Hausa influence."

As shocking and embarrassingly silly as the answer above is, this was the exact same response Nnamdi Kanu gave when he was asked the exact question by an elder some 2 years ago.

It doesn't take much to realise that the 'loudest' Biafran chanters are just the illiterate common men on the streets who need others to do their thinking for them. A typical example of the intellectual laziness of the chanters is their usual belief that anyone who thinks differently from them must be 'afonja.'
