Pavarottii: Keep quiet! If u don't know anything Lemme educate u a bit. First of all get Ur facts right. As at 2011 wen GEJ assumed power, he didn't meet 60billion dollars, get it fcts right next time.
Secondly, talking about subsidy. Wen GEJ wanted to take it off and use the money to build refiniries and cut of the subsidy canals. The same canals sponsored nation wide protest and occupied Nigeria. And he agreed and left it. Now u r buying subsidized fuel for 145 during recession. Now u begin to see that it was u guys that lost not GEJ. Secondly he still used the money half subsidy to start a TAM on the refineries, cos he planned to provitise dem after the TAM. BUT Ur buffoon, uneducated and corrupt buhari came and stopped it and force it to full work and crashed it. It's no surprised why our refiniroes are at 0%. Cos the cabals that av never wanted to work for about 40years are happy again. The northern cabals. Even deziani tried clamping Dem with the PIB but they made sure it wasn't passed even till today. That's why there is no court that has any case against deziani in the whole of Nigeria. So am sure av schooled why are our refiniries are not working and will never work. Except we av incorruptible people like GEJ at the helms of power. With CORRUPT HANDS LIKE BUHARI. IT WILL NEVER WORK. I Want u to think. Why did buhari grab the ministry of petroleum, those were advice from the cabals . Obj is part of the scheme too that won't want it to work. My friend buhari himself is deceiving Nigerians that r supporting him especially u, omenka, sarrki, madridguy, seunmsg, ipobexposed etc.
U guys think GEJ would suffer for it unfortunately Nigerians will not him.

Desyner: What are drones for? Hmm tell me? Drones will completely replace human inspection right?... You started by claiming there wasn't any need for inspection cos the source of the fault should have been detailed via SCADA in a developed world. Now you claim drones should be used for the inspection?... How many drones do you really think are capable of flying the length of a transmission cable?... now we arent talking of just a spot inspection, but a length spanning hundreds of kilometres?.... Do you really think using those kind of drones are cheaper or more efficient in inspection than an actual fly-over in a chopper? Bro, without going into much arguments, SCADA helps you monitor and control, it does not replace 'inspection.' Also, the use of drones for inspection may sound or seem fancy, but they aren't necessarily cheaper or as effective as sending a pair of real human eyes out there. And finally, what we have on this thread (i.e. inspection using choppers etc) is still very much the current inspection mode obtainable even in the most developed parts of the world. |

You notice a loss in signal from the control room, and you genuinely think it's needless to go out in the field to physically inspect, trace or investigate the true nature of the damage?... An advanced SCADA system will supposedly do all that for you while you sit permanently in the office?.... Wonderful! |

PetroleumJelly: BTW, Fashola is a 100 square inch peg trying desperately hard to fit into a 20 square inch hole.
Doesn't work.
I don't care what you Nigerians say, talking about how you don't need technocrats as ministers. This isn't America, I hope you guys understand that. This is Nigeria, a developing country.
In America, technocrats have slaved over the years, such that, management of sectors can be achieved with little technical background knowledge.
There, systems work.
You can't extrapolate a working system to encompass that of a developing system, as the latter proceeds the former.
What we need now are technocrats everywhere. I would even suggest technocrats with MBAs as ministers, rather than what we currently have.
We need to get our sectors working first. We need Power at 20-30GW in the next 5 years. After that, you can higher a butcher as the power minister for all I care.
Can't we just do thinfs right for once in this country?
We are struggling with an abysmal 3GW of power and you hire a lawyer to remedy that? Sigh!
Meanwhile, humans like us, with one head, mostly 2 arms and 2 feet are out there in other countries doing wonders, while we play politics with our sectors, awarding them as spoils of electoral victory, akin to war.
Google already had self driving cars, Tesla has electric vehicles you simply charge up like your phone.
What are we doing No offence but this argument holds no water, we have several agencies under the ministry that are headed by technocrats; Nigeria's power infrastructure today is also largely privatised and are being run by technocrats while the ministry of power only oversees. A known fact is that the biggest problems plaguing the Nigerian power sector today aren't even technical issues, they are more of administrative and legal issues; disputes between worker's unions, GENCOS, TRANSCO, DISCOs and gas suppliers. Fashola also seems to be doing a good job at settling a number of those disputes; supply some of the much needed funds in the sector and a lot of bottlenecks would be broken. Except you mean to tell me an engineer/technocrat would solve the sector's problems without money just as the previous technical ministers achieved greatness; or maybe an engineer as the power minister would somehow pacify our pipeline vandals and miraculously supply gas. Meanwhile, you dont expect a large pile of rotten garbage power infrastructure to be transformed into uninterrupted power overnight, do you? cc: fxkay1 |

Am not an apologist for PDP or Muazu but if this was America or Europe, Saharareporters would have been dealt a serious fine. You are right about Sahara Reporters rushing to publish a story swiftly and even before due confirmation, but on this particular case you raised above, you're the one dancing naked in public. Go back and read the title of that story you posted again; this time, try and read it slowly, and then you may realise that 'owner of house' (a.k.a Landlord of the block of flats) isn't the same thing as 'owner' of recovered funds. |

...I know that apc apologists like you are too far gone to be see reasons, therefore i will stop wasting my time and watch you and your party's circus performance in the name of 'corruption' fight...by the way,in all your epistle above, you failed to illustrate what has been achieved so far..What you have inundated me with are conjectures and speculations, with future expectations thrown in the mix..done with you dude..so long. Nope, there were several Nigerians spewing this exact same words (selective justice) against Ribadu and OBJ as you are doing today. This ain't an APC or PDP matter, I supported Ribadu 100%, I supported even the ghost workers (Waziri and Lamorde) 100% and today I am supporting Magu 100%. And FYI, my support has nothing to do with Buhari or no Buhari, I understand corruption is the single biggest cankerworm forcing Nigeria to remain in the ranks of 3rd world slums so I support anything whatsoever which stands against corruption. This was the very reason I rejected GEJ cos he showed no interest whatsoever in standing up against it. And like I always say, only strong systems can't fight corruption, you need strong people too, and as a matter of fact, it takes strong people to make strong institutions. Furthermore, we cannot automatically achieve strong institutions without first passing through the current teething stage. Jumping from zero to 100 is IMPOSSIBLE!, it's a gradual process, hence why I said you needed foresight. If you are expecting an EFCC that would from day-one, just jump and start attacking those inside the 'other-room' of the president without firstly crawling through this teething stage of attacking weaker targets first, then you are just being myopic, it can never happen. |

Ngokafor: ..No true at all..Selective justuce is as useless as Zero justice...fact.
...Obasanjo did the same'corruption fight' which was essentially a ploy to hunt his enemies and not for the good of the country...Okadigbo and co were removed based on 'corruption'' yet the corruption in the senate simply escalated thereafter..
...The truth of the matter is that useless corruption fights like the ones embarked upon by Obasanjo with his EFCC then and now buhari will simply make criminals to troop to APC just like they all did to PDP to continue their loot and plunder knowing hey will be free to do so..
...Except you are determined to fool yourself for ever, what exactly has been achieved so far??...
..The truth of the matter is that a strong man to 'fight' corruption' in Nigeria now will not WORK!...Corruption has eaten deep into the fabrics of the average Nigerian to be eradicated by one weak man like buhari, who is saturated by corruption and corrupt allies.
..Strong institutions to discourage corruption and make it impossible for people to be corrupt is what any serious-minded leader should focus on not this cirrcus going on right now..
..Example was the fertilizer policy of the former Minister of Agriculture Adesina, who made it impossible for criminal middle-men to syphone fertilizers to themselves to sell at astronomical prices to farmers, thereby making fertilizers readily available to the farmers directly...Thats what we should be working on...STRONG INSTITUTIONS,NOT STRONG MAN. I beg to differ completely. We need both strong men and strong institutions. Despite the strengthening of the institutions in the recent past, did it stop the diabolic looting?.. No! I still maintain my stance that half bread is better than none; when a frail man eats half a loaf, it gives him the requisite energy to fight for the other half so selective justice or whatever you call it is still far better than ZERO justice. Kindly tell me, would you suggest the police should free every inmate in detention at police cells across the country because the police hasn't shown enough will to arrest all criminals out there?... Maybe you can suggest we start using only burglar proof windows and prison high fences in our houses to 'prevent' burglary and then pay ZERO attention to chasing or apprehending thieves all because you think the police does go after every thief (selective arrests). If you play the game of chess, or if you understand the principles of the war of attrition, then maybe you will understand that in every such conquest, you typically start from eliminating the pawns before you get to the higher officials. Massive strength is required to tackle the biggest enemies, and that great strength is acquired by firstly conquering smaller targets. Just like an attack lion which its owner sends out to eat the flesh of his enemies, when the enemies have all been consumed and the lion is already used to human flesh, it's only a matter of time before that lion starts eating the flesh of its masters friends; you claim every criminal would run to APC for protection, but it's only a matter of time before that crossing over to APC becomes ineffective to save them. With the support of Nigerians, if the EFCC keeps eliminating the smaller crooks, it would gather the required momentum/fangs to go for bigger ones. And when the crooks in opposition are exhausted, simple logic tells me the blood thirsty EFCC wouldn't just sit back. If only Ribadu was supported by pessimistic Nigerians like yourself, if only he wasn't booted out of office unceremoniously to the excitement of Nigerians like yourself, I don't need a soothsayer to tell me that by now, the EFCC would have been so so powerful and blood thirsty sparing no one including closest friends of the govt. More foresight is needed here, you don't live in utopia... |

Selective justice is a million times better than ZERO justice. 2. Expecting a govt to probe itself is meaningless, especially in our systemless African society. Nothing can be more unwise than to do NOTHING, simply because you cannot do everything. Nigeria today has no systems in place that can facilitate a sitting govt probing itself. Wake up from that wild utopian dream. The best time Tinubu and co should have been probed was before they got to power, expecting them to probe themselves now is just meaningless. Tinubu was in opposition for 16 years, the failure of the govt in those 16 years is the reason Tinubu and co arent in jail now. If those past admins did the right thing by probing thieves (even if it meant only the thieves in opposition), fastforward to 2015 and we would have had true saints ruling Nigeria today who would then probe the PDP thieves. I wonder how so many people cant discern this simple logic. You prefer abracadabra to be performed and all the looters arrested in one instance?... and if all looters cannot be arrested at once then no single looter should be arrested? |
