TPAND:Why should you buy Innoson? - To encourage Innoson to improve on its quality - To grow Nigeria's automotive industry by encouraging others to be like Innoson - To promote Nigeria's manufacturing industry in general - To save scarce forex and prevent further capital flight - To provide jobs to Nigerians - To promote Nigeria's international image - Etc. If we buy Naija, we grow Naija!... This is common sense bro. If we patronise, publicise and cherish Naija made products enough, it is only a matter of time before other African countries start trooping into Nigeria to buy our cars and other products. |
I feel embarrassed being Nigerian whenever I read stories like these. I just cant imagine what the Danish would be thinking of Nigeria after reading this woman's story. ![]() |
Eluwilussit:I have always maintained the same position on the ND issue for as long as I can remember, "dem no dey use force kill fly wey perch for scrotum"... So next time, please try and recheck the username before you jump into conclusions. Btw, what do you mean by 'your military'?... I can see alot of you have shamefully denounced Nigerian citizenship since gej lost an ordinary election, hence it is now 'your military.' ![]() |
patpaul:I did not hate the former man, I only detested his lackadaisical attitude to corruption and his general failures; I did not hate the man, but I was fed up with his poor leadership. Most especially, I was never stuupid like some people today who wish Nigeria and Nigerians evil simple because they think it is the smartest way to oppose one man. |
emmachukwu99:Are you describing yourself there? |
kernel501:My position on the ND issue has never changed from day 1, so I kindly implore you to utilise your brain next time. |
Flets:I am a Nigerian who wants a better Nigeria and I do not throw away common sense like a lot of you guys simply because of some silly political sentiment. My position on the Niger delta issue has never changed and any human with a brain can simply do a back check to confirm that. As for you and the rest of your probably frustrated ilk who eke a living from the crumbs falling off the tables of some corrupt politicians, I am sorry to dissappoint you, I am not in your shallow hungry league. |
Lol.. what kind of comparison is this?... This is like doing a comparison on vehicles, and then comparing wheelbarrow vs a log of wood. ![]() |
This is a very silly policy and a total waste of money if its implementation is attempted. Who even comes up with some of these ideas?... I thought this idea has since been shelved? |
Straight to pot? No skinning first? |
A very good idea, no military approach can really solve the problem of bombing pipelines especially when we have a very poor security system in the country. I hope this works out for good, I cant wait to behold the disappointment on the faces of the self proclaimed enemies of Nigeria who wish evil and agony upon millions of innocent Nigerians simply because they hate the sitting president. |
ZUBY77:Age has little or nothing to do with certain things; a young teenager with a passion for reading and info gathering will be far more informed and exposed than an old man who only romances bottles of kai-kai. |
Mumus go soon tie this one to buhari... |
ZUBY77:What does age have to do with your point? |
ZUBY77:When you want to sell properties, you sell it to the highest bidder. If there is anything I'm sure of about the present govt, if it comes to selling off the refineries, they would be sold to the highest bidders and not some slimy friends of govt. So the question is, if businessmen from the south refuse to bid properly and buy these refineries, and then a northern serious businessman pays a high price for it, why should any right thinking person see this as marginalisation? |
I have always said this same thing, the solution to the ND's problem can never lie in giving out money to warlords who end up living lavish lives at the expense of the real community victims. The solution to the ND problem should have been to deliver proper development to the direct villages suffering from the downsides of oil and gas exploration and production. I don't even subscribe to the idea of 13% derivation given to oil producing states, I would rather have these moneys used on the direct communities and who feel the brunt of oil and gas exploitation. What these people need isn't so much, good roads, clean drinking water, electricity, good schools, hospitals and empowerment programmes. But from the onset, the main host communities are always neglected while billions are given to the noisiest communities (who may only have a pipeline passing miles away) and the noisiest activists (or miscreants as is mostly the case) who end up living lavishly by themselves and give nothing back to the communities. As long as the communities remain undeveloped, the miscreant warlords will always have blackmailing powers to rubbish the nation's economy whenever they please. |
9jacodedgist:This guy doesnt look like emmanuel emenike... or are my eyes deceiving me? ![]() |
LONGFUELCUE:NEPA wasn't properly privatised, public facilities were just given out to 'friends of the govt' with reckless abandon. That notwithstanding, the real reason why power is zero today is because there are people with dynamites in their hands who have sworn that they would ensure no improvement in power supply. Escravos and Agip gas pipelines that supply gas to the main gas power stations have been blown several times this year alone. So next time you think privatisation is the problem, try and take a broader look of what the situation really is. |
Lol... you go fear news na... Very soon they would say Aisha is a woman. |
These predictions were very obvious as at Dec 2015 when they were made, nothing special about this. |
Interesting... but unfortunately, lies are sweeter and they travel faster than the truth. The man should however do more for host communities and also do well to publicise it more. Finally, be it $900k or $14m, that amount is too much to throw away to an already rich country even when we still have over 50 dilapidated government tertiary institutions in Nigeria; it was a silly decision and be it his personal money or not, things like that will definitely ruffle feathers especially at ominous times like this. |
I think the FG should find a way to engage and settle community youths directly for pipeline protection. Contracts of billions should never be given to rich miscreants. An insentive program should also be instituted to handsomely reward peacefull oil producing communities with tangible development. The solution to this menace lies in settling the right people i.e. the community members themselves, and not irate youths only, else every youth would be forced to go irate. |
Icecomrade:So because 124bn was approved for the road ON PAPER, ot now means the road has been done even though a simple drive through the road proves otherwise?.... why dont you go and ride on the smooth road ON PAPER?... Never have I seen this kind of absurd gullibility until the coming of GEJ, the love for GEJ has totally messed up the minds of many. Please tell me where the 124bn went to for the road to still remain the way it is?... or did weavils consume the money as usual?.... ...and by the way, the list of roads mentioned on the second link you provided is not the comprehensive list of roads, you should go get the complete budget from the budget office site and peruse the ministry of works' complete budget. |
sapiosexual1:I doubt any presidency (anywhere in the world) will ever come out and announce to the public that the president can't attend a meeting because he has one sickness/disease. Typical response would be to simply spin an official excuse why the president can't attend, so there's no biggie about this. |
Icecomrade:Why do some of you allow your hearts to be so filled with hatred, to the point that it begins to interfere with reason?.... about N5billion was actually budgeted for this road you mentioned but obviously your pre-determined hated for buhari and your natural instinct to claim marginalisation, has prevented you from taking note of this fact. Meanwhile the Jonathan who you claim loves igbos so much, even with all the trillions at his disposal and for his 5 years rule, didnt think it necessary to do jack about the road, but you had absolutely no problem with jonathan. Instead you chose to vent your anger at a buhari who just passed his first budget and who has actually included this road as one of the planned projects. Bros make una try dey fear God small abeg, this attitude will take us nowhere... |
sapiosexual1:What is wrong or embarrassing about a human having ear infection?... Is he God that he cannot fall sick? |
Some of these jonathanians are just pathetic losers.... GEJ jailed Omatseye indeed ![]() |
No offence to Abians, but this Abia list has a lot of flaws. |
MasterofNL:Because you hate buhari, you then wish evil upon 170 million innocent Nigerians?.. such rare wisdom you poses! Once again, whatever you wish 170 million Nigerians (because of whatever hate you have for one man), will befall only you and your own family. |
400billionman:You just dont get it do you?... indimi an hausa man has oil blocks and billions. In protest of this, you celebrate people blowing up pipelines belonging to agip and chevron which supply gas to power stations supplying the whole Nigeria with electricity. Now the whole nation is thrown into darkness, and you think this is a sensible payback to indimi or buhari who already swim in billions and air conditioned rooms? |
calaway:Like I said, the folly remains that everybody suffers the brunt. |
danmasani101:You cannot force development on people who repel it. |
