mauriceju2:I thought this issue has been thrashed completely in the past?... How come there are still some who are still deceived by the dubious Vanguard report? As you can see, the title is clearly different from what's written inside. The "quoted" message in the report is credited to Buhari but the dubious Vanguard reporter chose to give a misleading title for the sake of politics. Enough of this... elections are now over. |
deandavid:A lot of Nigerians including yourself have a very poor comprehension ability. Can you please explain to me how he has 'fallen his hands and legs'? |
mohammedabiodun:..and you think there is a single soul that is MORALLY UPRIGHT to speak for the masses in Nigeria? What exactly is the problem with Dino or Bruce?... Is he asking you to pay him money for what he's doing? Don't worry, one day Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed would come to Nigeria and speak for the masses. At least no one would complain of moral uprightness. |
phemmyutd:Please show me where Bruce has changed his talk? Is it that we cant read or is it that our brains lack the capacity to comprehend what we read?... |
I give up on the shallow mentality and reasoning of Nigerians. For how long shall we continue to publicly crucify the few members of the elite who brave the odds to speak against the insensitivity of the elite? For how long shall we continue to stab the microscopic few elite who attempt to defend the interest of the masses? Common sense tells me that if Dino and Bruce are encouraged and praised by the masses, more of their colleagues would be tempted to join this their 'saintly' struggle and only when they can gather a crowd of their colleagues to their side can anything really be done about these obscene payments. But what do we have instead, Nigerians have succeeded in drowning the voices and assassinating the will of the only 2 people in the senate speaking on the side of the masses. These 2 men are active on social media, I am sure they both read Nairaland and I can only imagine how demoralised they would be when reading through the comments on this thread. If I were Dino or Bruce reading these comments, I would simply keep shut forever, join my colleagues and leave the masses to rot in their silly ignorance and poverty. Some people ignorantly shout REVOLUTION but it is obvious a revolution can never happen in Nigeria because whoever starts it will be prematurely slaughtered by the same masses he thinks he's trying to defend. Probably we are waiting for Jesus himself to come lead the revolution, but even if that happens, I'm sure we would hear things like, "afterall he's been enjoying all the luxury at the right hand of God the father in heaven, now he wants to deceive us with 419 humility... Kill Him!!" ***A message for Dino and Bruce, if by any chance you are reading through these demoralising comments on Nairaland, please ignore the foolishness of these people (for they do not know what they do) and keep up with your good campaign.*** Nigeria must be great again, even though our collective silliness and lack of objectivity is a huge clog in our progress |
Comprehension ability = 0 Very many Nigerians are just too dull |
Why is everyone attacking Bruce?... What has he said or done wrong?... What is too difficult for people to understand in what he said?... It's a known fact to even a primary school pupil that one isolated man cannot make a difference on his own in the NASS, so what's all the hasty accusations about? Nigerains are always fond of stoning persons who stick out their necks to speak on the side of the masses. I can't really blame Nigerian leaders who get into power and totally turn their backs on the masses. |
This should be frontpaged instantly before the false report spreads further. |
Amaechi is quietly relaxing in Abuja, bigstouting, peppersouping, suyaing and nkwobying in Abuja after 8 fulfilling years as a speaker and another 8 fulfilling years as a governor of Nigeria's 3rd richest state. Yet some bitter trolls just keep killing themselves by hating on a fulfilled man. Common sense is truly uncommon and like they say, hate kills faster than cancer. ![]() |

Buhari: While we were busy campaigning, Jona and his boys were busy chasing waec for my result... |
DickDastardly:That dullard grampa sent your 'bright' hero back to his fisherman post in Otuoke. The dullard is your president at least for the next 4 years, live with it or jump in the lagoon. |
Meanwhile some myopic and undiscerning Nigerians have been asking why the new president has been travelling around non-stop in the last 3 weeks. Even with this in their faces, they would still come here to ask why Buhari wants to travel to Cameroon tomorrow. |
barcanista:The reports clearly stated that the cabinet was dissolved on the 30th of May. http://allafrica.com/stories/201107020008.html http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anyim-appointed-sgf-as-jonathan-dissolves-cabinet/92324/ https://www.nairaland.com/679565/jonathan-dissolves-cabinet |
Wow! Some myopic Nigerians have been asking why the new president has been travelling around non-stop in the last 3 weeks. Even with this in their faces, they would still come here to ask why Buhari wants to travel to Cameroon tomorrow. |
anonimi:You never voted for change, you campaigned ferociously and voted for the status quo to remain; the status quo of which ministerial appointments were delayed for 6 weeks. Now you are clamouring for change? |
BackDatAssUp:To the best of my knowledge, Jonathan dissolved the cabinet on the 30th May, 2011 and swore in the first set of new ministers in mid-July. There was certainly a vacuum of at least , 6 weeks. http://allafrica.com/stories/201107020008.html http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/anyim-appointed-sgf-as-jonathan-dissolves-cabinet/92324/ https://www.nairaland.com/679565/jonathan-dissolves-cabinet |
While going through archives, I just bumped into some old threads revealing that ex-President Jonathan actually appointed his ministers in July 2011, 6 weeks after his inauguration on the 29th May, 2011. Jonathan promised to 'hit the ground running' at his inauguration but for expedient reasons best known to the president, the appointment of ministers was delayed for 6 long weeks. Now this was a man who was already an incumbent and his party the PDP already held sway for 12 years prior to his inauguration with no need for the bureaucratic party to party handover processes. https://www.nairaland.com/711303/jonathan-assigns-portfolio-31-ministers http://www.modernghana.com/news/337764/1/nigerian-president-swears-in-first-ministers.html http://allafrica.com/stories/201107020008.html Buhari's reign is just 2 weeks old, yet.... dougivilla:What the president meant is exactly what I explained. Buhari has never hidden his disapproval of foreign forces engaging and even leading battles on Nigerian soil when we still have soldiers. Bokoharam is presently a regional problem and Buhari's intention is for Nigerian forces to lead in the war. It was becoming increasingly embarrassing when it kept filtering in the news that Chadian or Camerounian forces were liberating Nigerian towns. http://www.punchng.com/news/nigerian-soldiers-afraid-of-recaptured-boko-haram-towns-chad/ http://www.naij.com/364827-chad-to-send-troops-tanks-to-nigeria-to-fight-boko-haram.html http://www.aljazeera.com/news/africa/2015/02/chad-troops-enter-nigeria-fight-boko-haram-150203175257536.html If you read through some of these reports, you will realise that foreign troops did not only help Nigeria liberate some towns, they actually stayed put to guard the liberated towns long after the terrorists have been expelled. Even the Chadian troops at some point wondered why Nigerian troops had not come to take hold of already liberated towns. In fact, the whole world kept asking how a sovereign nation like Nigeria would allow foreign troops from less sophisticated, weaker countries to not only fight and liberate its territory, but also stay in place for weeks. Buhari always reiterated that the only help Nigeria needed from its neighbours was simply for them to secure their borders and prevent the free flow of weapons for BH. |
dougivilla:I'm sure you are a reasonable and enlightened person so you should be able to understand what I'm about to explain. I guess you must have arrived at you above conclusions because you lacked the right information. 1. Buhari said it was a disgrace for Nigeria to have foreign soldiers on our soil helping us fight the insurgency. Buhari still stands by those words. 2. Boko Haram gets most of it's supplies from across the borders, they also retreats to neighbouring countries whenever they please to regroup, refresh themselves and plan further attacks. 3. The supplies of Bokoharam would be cut-off if the terrorists are not allowed to freely cross the borders. Remember, Nigerian soldiers cannot freely chase fleeing terrorists beyond our borders. 4. Buhari seeks the cooperation of neighbouring countries in blocking their borders to prevent BH terrorist from having free passage. 5. Buhari is not advocating for Chadian or Malian or Camerounian soldiers to cross into Nigerian territory to help us fight the insurgence. That will be a disgrace and that is exactly what happened under GEJ which Buhari condemned. Buhari has always been an advocate of neighbourhood cooperation to tackle the insurgency; but that doesn't mean the neighbours should step into Nigerian territory to fight our war for us just like it happened in Konduga and some other places under GEJ. There is a clear difference in both approaches and I believe I have explained the difference clearly for all of those shouting 'hypocrisy' to understand. |
All I can see from all these travels is that the end of Bokoharam is nigh. However, some eternally irredeemable dimwits only see a president flying around aimlessly because their myopic brains absolutely lack even the most basic discerning capacity to interpret the bigger picture. Unlike GEJ who relied on sitting in Abj denying the existence of a problem, and condemning whenever a mass of people were killed, what I see in Buhari is a man making concerted efforts to restore sanity to the north east. Halleluia! This is a man some nincompoops accused of being too old and frail for the task ahead. In 2 weeks he has visited 5 countries, particularly visiting our 3 main coalition neighbours in person to map out strategies on stamping out Bokoharam for good. By removing GEJ, I am more convinced than ever that God truly loves Nigeria. |
Jorussia:Unfortunately in politics (African politics specifically), brains and intellects are not a deciding factor. |
acorntree:Exactly! A lot of GEJ supporters indirectly heaped all the blame of Nigeria's problems on GEJ's head unknowingly by exhibiting a strange paranoia whenever anything negative was mentioned about Nigeria. For Christ sake, who doesn't know the Nigerian military is corrupt?... but if the lamentation of this soldier was published during the time of GEJ, his supporters would have quickly jumped into defensive mode accusing the poor soldier of being an unpatriotic liar and an agent of the opposition. |
ibietela2:Guilty of what if I nay ask? |
barcanista:Barcanista now I know you are a bastard!!! |
Now this story just makes me remember the GEJ days. If this interview was reported a year ago, hundreds of GEJ worshippers would have insanely jumped into defensive calling the soldier all sorts of names for lying against his country. These paranoid trolls always felt everything was about GEJ and that everyone was out to attack GEJ's presidency. Thank God we are past that era, at least now we can have our brothers thinking like humans again. |
Sunnybobo3:C'mon.. you mean someone seriously went into research to come up with this?... Even a kiddies dictionary explains the difference clearly. The real problem with the 'Stealing is not Corruption' saga was the manner and underlying motive behind which GEJ made the statement. GEJ blurted out the statement in an embarrassingly frantic effort to downplay the magnetude of corruption in Nigeria. |
koligs:lol ... and this is exactly why rumours thrive. |
cramjones:Cram, save you strength. The Jonathanians are still very very bitter over their loss and are still yet to get over the shock. Calling him names may just be the only tonic which can help the pathetic losers rest at night. Please allow the jesters to indulge themselves. It's a free world. |
