What exactly is your version of the truth?

You rightly said in you previous post that you pay £52 from Edinburgh to London by train (only when you book well in advance) right?.... For that same journey using a bus (megabus or national express), say the truth to yourself and to the rest of Nigerians reading this, did it cost up to £10?

What the man said is the simple truth. You cannot fight the truth; that N2600 which you say people cannot afford is an actually an extremely subsidised amount. TRUE or FALSE?

Educated yourselves on article 5 on the NATO charter....
Lol.. the tragedy of being too educated or rather, thinking you're too educated, is that you tend to overcomplicate and overanalyse even little things, and end up just embarrassing yourself. Firstly, Belarus has the closest border to Moscow and Moscow would be really worried if Belarus and/or Ukraine falls to its enemies. This makes them important states of concern to Moscow (i.e. big fishes).

And by the way, you aren't really as brilliant as you think you are; in terms of landmass, Belarus isnt "one of the smallest countries in Europe" as you claim, that's just laughable. Also regarding your comparison with Nigeria, next time when you want to compare apples and oranges, learn to use a comparable index (e.g. GDP per capita and not just GDP).

Lithuania and Latvia are richer than Ukraine. And the three can launch fast and quick attack from the US based in those countries. Not sure what you mean by mushroom states.
For Russia, that water has already gone under the bridge. There's nothing much they can do about those states again. I believe with Ukraine they're simply trying to prevent their mistakes of the past (i.e. letting Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia join NATO).

What's the point attacking mushroom states?

Putin's simply trying to prevent his mistakes of the past, i.e. letting those small states on it's borders to join NATO. Ukraine and Belarus are the big fishes here.

Russia has already succeeded in this one.

Russia simply doesn't want Ukraine to join NATO because it doesnt want NATO warheads stationed in Ukraine, i.e. so close to Moscow.

“I asked them – are you with us?” Zelensky said. “They answered that they are with us, but they don’t want to take us into the alliance. I’ve asked 27 leaders of Europe, if Ukraine will be in NATO, I’ve asked them directly – all are afraid and did not respond.”

[s][/s] You're being more stupid than necessary but I expected that from a low-balling idiòt that claims to live in the UK when in reality he's just actually living in a face-me-i -face you house in Ijebu Òde .

But let me explain my last post since you're having comprehension issues .

Fact number one : Nigerians don't pay taxes(argue that with the FIRS and the minster of finance). And even if they did, it can't be the same with what you'd pay in the UK or US . It is on record that people in the UK and western nations have one of the toughest tax systems in the world. And this is because their societies are built on PAYE system of taxation.

Fact number two: whatever amount you'd pay on health, water , phone bills, electricity etc cannot (and I repeat , cannot ) be compared to the cost when compared to the Nigerian equivalent. Meaning that , whatever amount you pay in the UK (or whatever European shithole out there ) will always be greater than what you pay over here in terms of cost.

For example , the average cost of dental checkup in the UK is roughly £45 (31,500 naira) . Now compare that to Nigeria where just to see a dentist can't be up to 20k naira ....in fact, there's isn't a hospital in Nigeria that will charge you even 15k just to see a dentist for consultation/check up...quote me anywhere.

Lastly, I asked you questions regarding the standard of living on 4k pounds a month in Nigeria compared to 4k pounds a month in the UK , but you failed to answer ... why ? Why have you brought up matters that have no logical bearing to the questions being asked? But anyway, it's quite unfortunate that Nairaland allowed degenerates like you access . If not why would a retàrd imply that 1.5 million is worthless in Nigeria
Trash No 1: You dont have to keep explaining and re-explaining the rubbish you wrote earlier. No one argued with you that Nigerians dont pay taxes to the govt. So for you to keep regurgitating the pointless statement, that already speaks volumes on your IQ level. Learn to read before you jump to respond.

Trash No 2: You keep talking about taxes in the UK but how dumb does one have to be to not still realise that the £4k the OP talked about was AFTER TAX? Of what value is your much touted education if you just cant read a damn short paragraph of text?

Again, who is comparing £4k in UK with £4k in Nigeria? Are you so blind or are you inebriated so early in the evening or are you just playing too silly to see that the comparison is between £4k after tax in the UK vs. N1.5m in Nigeria?.... How many times do you have to read different comments on this thread before you realise that?

N1.5m might be a valuable figure in Nigeria, every idiot on the street knows that; but to even remotely insinuate that it bears more value than £4k (after tax) in the UK? No sane human that has truly ever set foot in the UK would attempt such tomfoolery. No one who's lived and worked in Nigeria and the UK would spew such nonsense.

Much has you stay in UK, 4k a month really isn't that great.

At the end of the month, you'll do well to save 1k if you aren't spendthrift.
It's not as much as footballers earn, but at 4k after tax, OP would earn higher than 90% of UK salary earners.

70% to 80% of Nigerian in the UK don't make that income
In the US 60% of Nigerian don't make that income
£4k monthly after tax equates to about £70k annually. At that level, the OP would be earning more than 90% of the entire UK salary earners (not just Nigerians living in the UK). Anyone who remotely suggests that that isn't good pay in the UK must really be high on mkpurummiri. undecided

[s][/s] [s]Stop deceiving yourself oga: you're living in Ijebu Òde ,not the UK or any European country for that matter .

And secondly, your ignorance is appalling. Which fvcking taxes are they paying in Nigeria ...is it health, road , or community tax , council tax...which one oga ? Who is collecting them , and where are they collected to? Who is there to hold who accountable if you don't pay taxes...abi is it your fraudulent FIRS with their outdated records system ? undecided

Let us even assume that taxes are paid in Nigeria, now tell me , will be as harsh as the British system of taxation that levies and imposes tax on more than 30% of your earnings ? Is it possible to be comfortable there with 4k pounds , or here with 4k pounds? If your answer is yes, then you're a dumbfvck who can't reason .

And for your information, it seems you don't know Europeans laugh at us when we come to their countries to live and work. I've had the privilege of meeting some of them , and they even wonder why we leave our countries that are almost virtually tax-free to come and grind in their societies that have bottlenecked-tax systems that don't even allow you make a fortune with the much you put into working like a horse .

Just to validate this point, my former boss currently lives and works in Nigeria, and he earns well over a £100k pounds a year in that shithole Nigeria . But guess what ? The old fart enjoys the country and do you know why...? It's because of little or no tax we pay over here!

Even he himself told me plainly that we don't pay taxes in Nigeria, unlike other European and western nations who pay satanic taxes to their government.

This weakness in the Nigerian system alone has made him have savings like crazy ....and he can boast of half million pounds in his account that's he'll use as part of his retirement.

Lastly , a salary of 1.5 million a month can allow you run diesel without your account shaking ...and if you're wise ,there are solar companies that offer their services for less .

So if you like dey do mumu for "jappa". You go still live in rented apartment till you turn 80. Nonsense
A real tragedy of life is when a person can actually read and write, but is just too dull to take his time and read before rushing to regurgitate trash. Go back and read what I wrote, but this time do it slowly. I obviously didnt say anywhere that Nigerians pay taxes; the very fact that you read otherwise already exposes who the dumbfvck truly is.

All I said was that although Nigerians don't pay as much taxes, Nigerian who want to live comfortably end up paying heavily from their pockets for those same amenities which taxes in the UK provides for you. Nigerians who want to live comfortably pay heavily from their pockets for private security, for healthcare, for education (some private schools in parts of Nigeria cost a killing), pay to fix roads etc... You obviously are so used to 'I pass my neighbour' generators, reason why you dont have a clue how much it cost to run a large diesel generator which at least can power several AC's around a house. You also ignorantly talk of solar systems but have no clue how prohibitive it costs to install and operate an offgrid system that can power a full home (with AC's) over a long period.

I would stress it again, you must be a serious ignoramus to even attempt comparing the standard of living you get in the UK with a £4k/month salary AFTER TAX to what you get in Nigeria with a N1.5million monthly salary. A £4k monthly salary after tax equates to about £70k annually, which would place the OP in a better position than over 90% of salary earners in the UK; this is what you carelessly compare to N1.5m in Nigeria?

And lastly, you talk of renting till 80 years old; hopefully you aren't a junkie to be thinking like this cos its only a junkie in the UK who would earn £4k after tax monthly and still be unable to buy a decent property.

[s][/s] You fuckers don't pay taxes that's why nothing works in your Nigeria . Secondly , the guy made no valid point other than display ignorance under the guise of "greener pastures " and "jappa" which to me , is the lowest form of reasoning you can give to support someone to relocate from Nigeria under a salary of 1.5m a month
Shut your stinking mouth! I live in the UK and I pay all the so called taxes you talk about. But I've also got friends and family all around Nigeria and I visit Nigeria ever so often, so I'm not as chronically ignorant as yourself. Nigerians may not pay taxes to the government, but to survive comfortably in Nigeria, you end up still spending on basic amenities just about the same figures people in the UK spend on taxes and bills.

In the UK my taxes cover my healthcare, security, roads, access to steady water and electricity, etc. In Nigeria, you have to pay physically for these things and you end up not still getting them efficiently. Do you have a clue how much it cost to run a diesel generator for 12 hours daily in Nigeria? DO you even have a clue how much a unit of electricity cost in Nigeria today?

Meanwhile a £4k salary monthly in the UK after tax is equivalent to about £70,000 annually; a person who earns that literally earns more than over 90% of salaried earners in the UK. For you to say that's not a good salary or for you to even attempt to make a comparison between that and N1.5m, I dont even have words to describe your ignorance.

[s][/s] Shut the fvck up. Nigerians don't pay taxes ,but over here, we do that all day ,every fvcking day, and you know why ? Because the system is built to keep the rich in check while the poor remain average. And that's something that eats very deep into your savings and earning potential , especially if you're a middle-income earner .

But besides all this , when was the last time you took into account things like electricity bills, community tax and other services that are paid in the UK ? Have you thought about that on 4k pounds ? Please do that before sending me more ludicrous statements
The fact that you even had to insult that guy for making a valid point, makes one wonder how some people even reason.

So you're saying people in Nigeria dont pay bills? What sort of ignorance is this? Do you know how much it cost to fuel a diesel generator for 12 hours a day? Do you even have a clue how much a unit of electricity cost in Nigeria today? Do you know that in Nigeria you literally pay for your own security and pay to fix the roads leading to your gate? No comfortable person in Nigeria risks going to govt hospitals when sick; do you have a clue how much it cost to be treated in a decent private hospital in Nigeria?

£4k monthly AFTER TAX is a massive massive amount of money in the UK. You will be very comfortable and would be better off than if not over 80% of 9-5 workers in the UK.

Even if the £4k were before tax, you would still be better off than over 50% of UK 9-5 workers.

What exactly is N1.5m in Nigeria? There's no basis for that sort of comparison at allm

The crowd of people wailing about the north, north and north on this thread should please save us the noise. Is the north not a part of Nigeria? The last time I checked, the only existing railway built by this administration is in the SW, and with the time left, the Lagos-Ibadan rail will end up being the only railway built in 8 years by this admin. Anything else is just but a proposal in paper.

For people talking about the SE, the railways with connect all of Nigeria in due course; it clearly cant all be done in a day:

- OBJ (SW) built the first standard gauge rail between Warri (SS) and Ajaokuta (NC). No one called for or is calling for OBJ's head for not building it in their region.
- GEJ (SS) built the second standard gauge rail in Nigeria between Abuja (NC) and Kaduna (NW). Similarly, no one called or is calling for GEJ's head for not building it in their region, and neither is anyone accusing GEJ of marginalising anyone.
- PMB (NW) has just built one, just one standard gauge rail between Lagos (SW) and Ibadan (SW) and all hell is let loose with lamentations on why he isnt building rails in all regions of Nigeria at the same time.

And for those accusing Amaechi of not diverting a railway to PH as though he is the president of Nigeria, can Amaechi really do anything other than what his boss has asked him to do?

What I detest is how one of these nations always finds a way to hypocritically convince you and the rest of the world that they're law abiding saints, yet they're far more guilty of the 'dictatorship' they claim to denounce

The US was very instrumental to the balkanisation of the former USSR; it was never about giving anyone independence, rather was strictly about weakening the strength of their greatest competitors. The Russians have simply been fighting to get back their lost territory.
