Every politician in Nigeria who can be a possible candidate in the next election has at one point or the other been a part of a failed govt. I cant write everyone off especially for decisions which weren't even their making.

In the current Nigerian structure, the VP is more like an EMPLOYEE of the govt who performs only tasks allocated to him by his boss; even junior ministers have more executive and decision making powers than the VP. I cannot heap the blame of a failed govt on an employee who has absolutely no executive powers or authority to make decisions.

A little peek into what could be expected from PYO could be seen with his actions the very first time PMB handed over to him during his medical trip. After failing the first law of power (i.e. "do not outshine your master", the cabal made sure Osinbajo was NEVER allowed any decision making role since then.

For me I don't want anybody in this calamity government to take over power in 2023. There's nothing to continue in this failed government. Let a total outsider take over. A Nigerian president is like an emperor with absolute powers. He can only be controlled if he chooses to. Every president has his own cabal; never in history has the cabal of a past president controlled a new president.

Osinbajo is someone who has the guts and is well educated to turn things around. The little time he was left with power and command when Buhari was out, he exercised it well by firing that incompetent DSS fool.

Unfortunately Osinbajo is in the wrong party because Nigerians have reached the peak of deception, no stories can make Nigerians vote APC again. Power must return back to the PEOPLE even if the person would come from the North, the people must take their power back. South East can have it later because they deserve it.

Sadly,with all his gra gra and consultation in his region with Obas and ancestors alike, he will never be president.

The people who voted APC in the last 2 elections are still very willing to vote APC (over pdp) again, especially if the candidate is a breathe of fresh air like PYO.... Even within the SE (which is the region where people have sworn never to vote APC), a lot of people will reconsider if APC gives their ticket to PYO. Only thing that may change this is if PDP gives their ticket to Obi. But can even PDP be trusted to do that?

There was also calamitous insecurity in Nigeria under GEJ. That it didnt get to your doorsteps doesnt mean it didnt exist and that people didnt suffer from it. Right in the centre of Abuja, bombs were going off recklessly while the president was dancing away in campaign podiums in Kano. With the reign of terror then, it was only a matter of time before the bombs and suicide bombers would have hit Lagos, PH and other southern cities. If you choose to feign amnesia to that and claim the insecurity started in 2015, then sorry, not everyone suffers from your selective amnesia.

I didnt vote in 2015 or 2019, but yes, I openly supported PMB in 2015 over GEJ. Even with what I know of PMB today, if we're sent back in time to 2015, I wouldnt still support GEJ's continuation; the only thing I'd do differently would be to abstain from the elections completely (like I did in 2019). I'd never reinforce or reward failure with continuity. Feel free to keep wailing in my mentions for your GEJ.

There were only 2 candidates that could win that election. But that didnt mean there werent other candidates in the ballot. If Soyinka said, "do not vote for Jonathan", only a dumbo automatically interprets that to mean "you must abandon all other 70+ candidates and vote for Buhari".

I'm not here to compare any achievements with you. I told you clearly before, Jonathan was an incompetent and useless president and deserved to go! So I had no reservations opting for something different.

I never told you Buhari's 7 years has been any better if that's what your problem is. With the level of insecurity then creeping into Abuja and moving down south, and with the nonchalance of the president then, it was only reasonable to try something different, especially since the alternative had at least a military background. I wasnt going to reward failure with an extension simply because of the fear of the unknown.

I can't find any wisdom in jumping from frying pan to fire. The latter is far worse. Running from incompetence to a far worse situation; is that the category you belong? No wonder, Nigeria is in a sorry situation. There were better candidates, why did your category not go for them if really you are running from incompetence?

Given Nigeria's political structure, there were only 2 candidates from the only 2 serious political parties at the time. Also given the horrible security situation at the time, and the sheer incompetence of the last govt in handling the insecurity, it clearly seemed like the only pragmatic choice to try a new hand. A lot of people clearly forget how boko haram was releasing bombs almost every other week even in the centre of Abuja. That needed to be checked, and that endeared many to the idea of trying a new option who was at least seen as ex-military.

So yes, the new hand may have failed today, but given the situation at the time, I feel absolutely no regrets for my decision at the time to boot out the former guy and try something different.

Just a point of correction above. Very many people fell in that category; i.e. the category of people who were sick and tired of the incompetence and nonchalance and lootocracy of GEJ's admin. Oh yes, Buhari ended up being worse; just a dead piece of wood, but that doesnt invalidate the reasons a lot of people chose to prioritise 'giving Jonathan the boot' over everything else.
