Azibalua:
Interesting
Since you do not believe in security from henceforth sleep with only window nets, no burglary please, also no DOGS
Then ensure that you give a strict warning to the security not to forget the vigilante in your area never to come near your house.
I don't need burglary proof windows because they're not needed thank you, that's different from having body guards from what I know and remember. I have a pastor who doesn't need body guards or anyone to carry his Bible from and to the Pulpit. Humility is the CORNERSTONE of Christianity. Maybe you need to check your self if you're a pastor and feel the need to hire armed guards, way different from one that opens and closes the gate to the mansion(?)

mabell:
let me ask
is it wrong for a christian to employ a security man at his house gate
or mayguard
or should he employ angels instead to work at his gate
Mabell; I thank God I have no such need, Nigerian "rich folks" tend to be very lazy and since labor is cheap, no need to take their fat behinds out of the car and open the gate themselves, heck you won't need the gate in the first place if there was a level of fairness in every facet of life there.

Joagbaje:
What are You saying? Why did Paul have to go and report "Threat to life" complain to the centurion.? What was he expecting.  Look at newmi post again. Why didn't he ignore the information  since angels are on guard.

What of Jesus escape from the mob? And hiding.?
My point is for us to understand the balance . There are times God demonstrates deliverance from danger in a spectacular way. There are other times he grants us wisdom to go about it other ways.

Take for example when God hindered paul from going to Asia . Couldnt God have gone with him. Why did he stop paul. When we humble ourselves we will have the full comprehension of the many sides of God. Than looking at things from one myopic angle.

Pastor JoAgbaje, I have not reached (and never will reach) the level to question God, God has his reasons and times for EVERYTHING, Growing up, I remember seeing "God's time is the best" on transport "trailers" maybe you need to remember that pastor.

Shalom.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastors And Body Guards. by ogajim(m): 4:36pm On Apr 22, 2011
Aren't you guys sore from patting yourselves on the back already?

Apostle Paul didn't request protection from the army as you are leading some to believe, rather the Commander arranged protection for him after finding out he was a "Roman citizen" and thus had a right under the law to appeal his case before Caesar in Rome, his nephew overheard 40 men basically swearing an oath not to eat until they killed Paul.

You guys are something else, private jets, tithes and now private armies? come on man!
Christianity EtcRe: Pastors And Body Guards. by ogajim(m): 3:25pm On Apr 22, 2011
Joagbaje:
@Ogajim

Can you answer me sincerely
Why was paul requesting security? He had 200 soldiers , 70 horsemen and 200 spear men to protect him from 40 men
Why were the disciples of christ carrying sword
Why did Jesus ask them to sell their clothes to buy sword
Why did Jesus hide dodged, and escaped. Why didn't he call the angels?
Leave joagbaje out of this, let's look at the bible ? And give me bible answers.
Pastor JoAgbaje: Honesty is an INTEGRAL part of Christianity, I already quoted Matthew 26:51-54 for you from Jesus himself, what else do you want? You are missing the point of Apostle Paul's request, he had been arrested before without doing nothing wrong, Paul's nephew overheard a discussion about killing Paul and those folks' promise not to eat anything until Paul was killed so your nonsensical quote was about the Commander putting a team together to protect Paul from the Jews as a way of getting him to Rome to get a FAIR trial.

First you should never ever compare Apostle Paul to these pimps, secondly, why would anyone want to kill these money hungry "pastors" if it is not something that happened outside of their "pastoral" duties? Nigeria(most parts  cheesy) is safe to practice Christianity last time I checked so tell me why your "mogs" need pilot cars, armed police escorts, etc.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastors And Body Guards. by ogajim(m): 2:24pm On Apr 22, 2011
EarsWide:
@Mr Jo

So your 419 pastors can raise dead people, create money from nothing, cast out demons - but cannot dodge bullets from mere armed robbers ?  grin grin grin grin
I tire for Pastor JoAgbaje oooooo

I don't think these so called pastors with body guards believe in God as much as they preach because they see the preaching like a job out of necessity. Only God can truly PROTECT one from a determined attacker, I don't even see those body guards taking a bullet for these pimps in suits anyway. Pastor JoAgbaje, a fence doesn't stop any attack, it only slows it down.
Christianity EtcRe: Pastors And Body Guards. by ogajim(m): 1:54pm On Apr 22, 2011
Pastor JoAgbaje: You are outdoing even yourself on this point, taking unrelated comments by Jesus Christ and Paul to conclude that "MOGs" are supposed to be armed guarded and as is the case in Nigeria even assigned Police escorts making them no different from the Politician.

I'd love for you to show me Scriptures where Jesus or Paul acted like the Romans.

That being said, what do you make of this:

Matthew 26: 51-53
51And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.

52Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

53Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Your arguments only help to confirm what Peter Tosh said in one of his songs (equal rights)", everybody wants to go up to Heaven but nobody wants to die, "
Christianity EtcRe: Pastors And Body Guards. by ogajim(m): 12:58pm On Apr 22, 2011
Joagbaje:
It's a simple common sense. It's not everyone that needs security men. But when there seemed to be threat to a person.of attcks . He should be wise enough to accept help. Even though his trust is in God.A man who has no tendency of being attacked has no reason for security . But scripturally nothing is wrong to have security for men of God. We should not argue blindly. Jesus had his desciples as security. David was a prophet , he had security. When there was threat to paul's life. He called for security protection. Nehemiah under the commission of God to rebuild the city Walls  Had to arm his men ,even priests with spear and sword in the during the building project.
With this submission Pastor JoAgbaje, you've over written every point you ever made about faith and God's grace. Just as some of you blindly defend jet buying Pastors, this is another attempt to shield fake "MOGs" who are only in it for the MONEY, "money come to me now, "

Our God is able to protect his TRUE followers no matter the strength of the enemy because he is ALPHA and OMEGA so quit this "mog" need protection from crowd/parishioners nonsense.

PsalmmieF, I am tempted to call you "palmy" because that's what you seem to have drunk before defending this guy but then again I do remember that "palmy" can't get you this high/drunk.

Think about maintenance costs annually for 4 jets plus hanger fees everywhere you land not forgetting the crew that must be there flying or not. Neither the Pope nor the Archbishop of Canterbury owns any private jet yet these "WOFer" preachers are flying high which must make the sane mind to wonder who they actually serve.

I doubt the defenders can think independently because I have read any independent thinking on any of their posts but just plain "company line" speaking or regurgitation of what they've been "taught", what does "liberated from poverty" mean? That they too can fly in jets now?
Christianity EtcRe: Bishop Oyedepo Acquires Yet Another N4.5b Private Jet by ogajim(m): 12:13am On Apr 12, 2011
Nigerians will justify anything no matter how ABSURD!

The Pope doesn't own a jet and I guess he doesn't have places to go or people to meet.
Christianity EtcRe: Difference Btw A Business Man & A Prosperity "pastor" by ogajim(m): 12:20pm On Apr 06, 2011

Christianity EtcRe: Tithing: An Interesting Article by ogajim(m): 6:00pm On Apr 02, 2011
These CEC folks and their theological acrobatics!

I have yet to come across any Scripture where Paul mentioned tithes, paid tithes or collected tithes because he was not a Levite and couldn't have collected under the Law.

I have not seen any "opponents" of tithe advise folks not to give any percentage to the needy, widows, orphans, church etc.

You guys need to get your act together because the tithe scam will dry up soon as more and more people study the Scriptures for themselves instead of taking their "MOG" interpretation and "teaching".

Christianity EtcRe: Let's Discuss Bible Prophecies by ogajim(m): 2:09pm On Mar 31, 2011
Pastor JoAgbaje, I am sure you know that the present day Israel is not a Christian country and that Christians are the God's chosen people today. Like you indicated in a response yesterday in another thread, Israel will get another chance to repent.

I am suspicious of Christians who feel the need to "defend" today's Israel or go there for "pilgrimage" when we are God's temple as believers. There are things and there are things as the saying goes and if you look closely at the country too, you will see nothing that represent God and the fact that they don't believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and savior, you need more research sir.

Hidden in plain sight in a VERY popular art form!

Snowwy:
You said you are sure I had no clue now? Now I ask candidly that you assist my understanding since to you God's giving of the tithe to the Levites had no 'spiritual intent'?
Snowwy Snowwy,

Bro, I am sure you know that the levites didn't keep all the tithes they collected and their role as "Administrators" throughout the land of Israel.

Most Jewish Rabbis today aren't Levites and so won't collect tithes plus the fact that there is no TEMPLE for now but you and your Nigerian "MOGs" want to collect straight cash despite that not being the case while it lasted. Jesus never asked the rich guy to sell all his possessions and tithe it did he?
Christianity EtcRe: Water Baptism by ogajim(m): 1:14pm On Mar 31, 2011
I don't know about MFM but I do know that RCCG does baptize children old enough to follow baptism by immersion instructions but I don't know that they require one to enroll in a class in order to qualify for such here in NA.
I know also you don't have to be a worker to be baptized by them too so you might need to look further and see if it is a general practice or just that branch.

Christianity EtcRe: Nigerians And God (a Must Read!) by ogajim(m): 2:04am On Mar 29, 2011
Until Nigerians wake up and smell the coffee, these con men in suits will continue to smile to the banks at their very own expense. They have CAPITALIZED on peoples' genuine desire to serve and worship God and turned it into a business with pay to play options, seed sowing, tithe, you name it.

One's belief in God should be self-evident without any need to announce such but Nigerians for the most part now look at it as an "investment" because "you have to give to receive"
Christianity EtcRe: Water Baptism by ogajim(m): 6:00pm On Mar 28, 2011
I am sorry I misunderstood your earlier submission, I thought you meant foundation class on it's own and not as part of the water baptism.
That's a new concept if they require folks who want to be baptized to attend a 3 month class, care to mention the Church?
Christianity EtcRe: Water Baptism by ogajim(m): 3:55pm On Mar 28, 2011
I thought they had those classes online these days? A friend told me a week ago how strict it was when he went through the class, 7am prompt and that if you missed one, you had to wait for the next class.
Christianity EtcRe: Water Baptism by ogajim(m): 3:34pm On Mar 28, 2011
Why do you need to speak in tongues? Why can't you just leave everything to God's will? Water baptism by immersion is following Jesus' lead but I don't know about the tongue speaking part. God already know your heart before you even open your mouth, "from the abundance of the heart speaketh the mouth, '

Christianity EtcRe: Should We Stop Giving Tithe? by ogajim(m): 3:11pm On Mar 28, 2011
mabell:
@Poster,
when you stop giving your tithe, you cut God financial flow away from your life, you break the edge God put around you and most of all you rob God
Mabell: Where in the Scriptures did you get the above? Don't say Malachi because that was not addressed to me, you or other Christians.

While you're at it, you might also want to show us Scriptural references of Jesus Christ (a Carpenter) paying tithe, or Apostle Paul paying tithe from his tent making side gig. Peter as a fisherman was never shown to have paid tithe. Tithe was never given from anything that was not from the GROUND or LIVESTOCK but I won't be surprised if your "rhapsody of realities" mandates you to follow the old ways.

People need to wake up from this SCAM of a practice, you can't BUY God's blessings and stop trying to get rich in this World if you don't have any other way of doing it other than "claiming it". Build your treasures in Heaven instead with good deeds, holiness, etc not seed sowing or what have you.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Lack by ogajim(m): 1:12pm On Mar 22, 2011

Mabell and the other PRO staff on NL representing the Church of Nigeria LTD. (abi na PLC these days) must work harder these days because people are slowly catching on to the true Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and find it to be not all about many fold prosperity blessings instead of Holiness, charity towards fellow men, etc.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Lack by ogajim(m): 12:31am On Mar 19, 2011
^^^Well said!

A huge problem among our people at home and in diaspora is the "ambition" or "promise" of wealth as a MAJOR reason most of them are in Church or active in one. Money should not matter to a Christian as Jesus Christ himself admonished us to seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and not to build our treasures on earth but in Heaven.

The different scams that go on in those Churches be it tithe, sacrificial offering, SEED sowing, etc as the "keys to unlocking wealth" doesn't help at all.

May God help his people to seek him in truth and in spirit, Shalom.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Lack by ogajim(m): 7:42pm On Mar 18, 2011
A Christian can not measure his/her self with WORLDLY barometers so when we say "lack" it must be defined because that can mean lack of anything other than material.

"Seek ye first the Kingdom of god and everything shall be added"
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Christians Lack by ogajim(m): 7:21pm On Mar 18, 2011
Mabell, define "lack"

Wealth mean a lot of things to different people and majority will never be "rich" EXCEPT THAT'S GOD'S WILL so I don't want to kill your dream of being a billionaire but chances are it won't happen if that's not God's will for your life no matter how much you shout and fast.
