Maybe you can start by showing us the passages in the Bible where you found this conclusion? Stop regurgitating same lame information you hear or see on the pulpit man. |
They need to "bind the spirit" of no audio! They are probably doing some research to find a way to counter this powerful piece or would just ignore it all together hoping the thread goes away. |
^^^ At the end of this your OYINBO rant, Salvation is not for SALE should be the conclusion! Obviously this guy ought to take part of the blame if the story is true, "test every spirit" and "know them by their fruits" The fact that some "pastor" is telling me what "God" wants me to give him does not mean I will respond in CASH (slap if he doesn't stop maybe )These are the last days and believers need to OPEN their EYES. |
ikejiani:Pastor AIO has already addressed your "concerns" Now you need to actually STUDY your Bible instead of regurgitating the same nonsense your are being fed by those who are after your wallet. Who told you my reason for giving my life to Christ is to be wealthy? Some of us don't need "wealth" or the promise of it to serve our Lord and savior. Giving in order to receive is investment banking not worship. |
Like I have said on numerous times on NL, I don't have any problem with folks giving their money to help support their local place of assembly/worship but what I don't find in our Bible is the INSTRUCTION to give a certain percentage to support the "ministry". A Christian should be able to make the call as to what to do with his/her resources be it giving straight to the poor/widow/orphan/stranger around you or support a Church local or not without being called DISOBEDIENT, THIEF, etc. Jesus Christ said to LOVE/help one another, not support DREAMS of fellow men whether you can afford to or not. I have seen folks who won't help their parents/siblings or others because "I have to pay my tithe first", where is the LOVE in that? |
^^^ Better yet, ask them where the Bible "converted" tithe from farm produce and livestock into MONEY/EGO/KUDI/OWO. Did Jesus Christ die on the Cross so we can build "magnificent edifices" to worship him that lives in all BELIEVERS? You enter "gbese" to build what you can't afford and now you have to con their money out of them to break even and make a profit? |
The tithe mongers will soon descend on this thread gun blazing to defend this SCAM, I wonder why they never showed us any evidence of Jesus or Apostle Paul paying (they were not farmers or owned any livestock)or receiving this tithe since neither of them came from the tribe of Levi. They claim Pastors of the "Modern Church of Nigeria ltd/PLC" can collect tithes because they are the "modern day Levites", I wonder if they carry those tithes to Jerusalem or actually have "storehouses" in those Churches to hold the "harvest" for the poor, widow, orphan, stranger, etc. They are quick to quote (out of context of course) "you will always have the poor with you" which begs the question of whether they are about to give their lives for their congregation/church as Jesus Christ did for MANKIND. Beloved, we have to learn to hit the MUTE button anytime they regurgitate the same filth over and over again. |
^^^^ The meds kicking in or what was this in response to? |
This is one thread I will keep my eyes on for sure, so far so good before the "dittoheads" turn up. Most of the "doctrines" they spew out today has no Scriptural basis to stand on. |
I have come to the conclusion that some "Christians" can never be moved from their indoctrinated status, they have "answers" for everything whether that makes them objects of laughter to say the least or not. I doubt that it's only CEC in Nigeria that does this after all, Church has become the fastest growing business in Nigeria with the business plan straight out of the gold 'ol USA. We have to keep them in our prayers and continue to do the right thing as the Spirit leads us, let us remember that Jesus Christ is the only one we should imitate. |
OP is either a pastor who benefits from this tithe scam or a brainwashed zombie (some would say BOTNET) who is echoing everything he's been "taught". You can't buy God's blessings, faith without works is DEAD. Tithe your whole paycheck and it still won't mean a thing if you don't follow Christ's (who by the way never asked for tithe or paid one) example. It must SUCK big time to be in bondage even after Christ paid our debts on the CROSS. ![]() |
Joagbaje:Haba pastor JoAgbaje! Remember this passage?: John 1: 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. We must not add to the Scriptures in an effort to justify an unholy practice of mandatory tithes, Nigerian and some American Churches are all about money these days, go figure. |
Some Nigerians and their "haste" to "make" it will go any length and follow any "Pastor, MO, Prophet, Evangelist, GO, GS, GOC, etc" who promise them that prosperity is within reach if only "you believe, have faith, pay tithe, sow a seed, offer first fruit offerings" but at the end of the day while the common folks are still holding on to those beliefs, their "leader" is smiling to the bank. I don't know when these bunch are going to get it but our Lord Jesus Christ was only recorded to have mentioned tithe (of produce no less) ONCE yet they tell you they follow Jesus Christ. Those who believe they need to pay tithe to their local church ought to continue doing so as long as they know it is not mandatory or a requirement for salvation as our God can't be bought. The early missionaries brought something with them be it subsidized or free education, lived among the people under the same conditions, etc but not these new age jet set prosperity preachers. Let me people go! |
Image123 obviously has run out of ideas or simply hit a wall at this point, how else can one explain his " the Bible is not a biography of Abraham or Jacob" submission? He might just come back with "the Bible is not a biography of our Lord Jesus Christ" next time. It is pretty HARD to fight for or justify a SCAM. Pastor JoAgbaje on the other hand is riding the "anointing" gravy train to it's very end as if the rest of us Christians somehow forget to recieve our own anointing from our Lord Jesus Christ who bequeathed the Holy Spirit to us as a Guide. We pray one day these guys see the light and embrace it fully before it's too late. |
Image123:Image123: Seriously, there is nothing to write in those Nigerian "films" (movies to the rest of us), Gary laid out his case and all you can come up with is the very WEAK defense? Come on man! Tonye-t(tithe), Dude, I thought you have "repented" from this tithe thing my brother, Since you claimed that the "first tither was blessed" I guess after ending the war with lots of booty, can you please indicate to us when/where/how he was blessed? An also, why didn't he continue this tithe thing? Let's forget for once that he didn't have the COVENANT with God at this point since he was still called "Abram" ![]() |
More and more Nigerians just need to wake up from their slumber and realize that Jesus is the only one worthy of our worship and adoration. There are no need for "facilitators" in this new dispensation. |
JeSoul, sorry about the Pats, I truly expected them to take it to the Jets but it looked like they came prepared and allowed Sanchez some room to operate the offense. The Pats reduced me to .500, the Falcons played their worst game of the year I think. Steelers should beat them just like I think Rogers might get past the Bears. Steelers AFC champs and Packers NFC champs. |
^^^ Zikky, you be Lawyer? You are killing pastor JoAgbaje under cross-examination so much he might just plead guilty to obtain a deal. ![]() nuella2:I don't see the same level of attacks against pastor Kumuyi and the Deeper Christian Life Ministry on NL, Village square, etc, If it quacks like a duck, it most certainly is a duck my dear sister. |
Anyone that falls for this kind of crap should be shot, dude's obviously just starting out and hasn't mastered the correct syntax of the folks he's trying to dupe. |
With the way they operate in Nigeria, they not only should be taxed but also audited once a year. Church has become a thriving business in Nigeria and operate that way so no more hiding behind the charity charter, I seriously doubt that most of them spend up to 5% on Charity despite taking 10% from their members not including offerings, special seed sowing, building fund, etc. |
Nigerians and their readiness to justify anything they like or want. The Bible explains everything to anyone who is willing to study and pray for guidance from the Holy Spirit. There are lots of Nigeria's so called "mega pastors" that are misleading MANY and until folks come to the full realization that this wasn't the example set by our Lord Jesus Christ, they'll continue on the path. Matthew 7 : 13-29 13Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. 21Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. 24Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. 28And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: 29For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. The Words of our Lord Jesus Christ, nothing more to add. |
This Bible passage tells us the person of Jesus Christ in his own words: John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Hebrews 2:14-18 14Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; 15And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. 16For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. 17Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. 18For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted. Jesus came in human form to show us the was and pay the price for our sins, he left us with a GUIDE (the Holy Spirit) upon exit from this World be our companion as we navigate the treacherous waters of life so we won't be found wanting when he comes back to sit in judgment. In your World, Christians must not be allowed to speak truth to "authority" because that would be considered "judgment" right? |
@superking, See me see trouble ooooo Mr. single digit, you are the one that needs to come out from this assumed identity and go back to your original one because you seem too versed on NL to only have these two posts to your credit, who's fooling who? Trust me my brother, I am doing my part in my environment to "spread the word" and seek to do more. I pray you get out of the " MOG worship" game because as a true Christian, you are a man after God's heart. "Be wise as serpents and gentle as doves" |
Reggie Wayne was unable to get off the "Reavis island" and Payton didn't challenge the coverage all game long. The Seahawks don't have a chance in Soldier field this time around though they won a regular season game there earlier in the season. Ravens could end up with an upset of the Steelers if Flako don't turn into a turn over machine. With the hype following this Jets/Pats matchup, I would not be surprised if the Pats come up wit ha whipping even bigger than the MNF disaster a few weeks ago. Pats Steelers Bears Falcons Those are my picks. |
My sister this thing tire person no be small, The one that got me was the part that we should "pray for long life for prominent Nigerians", someone needs to explain why to me. Can't we pray for all Nigerians why only the "prominent" ones? |
Superking:You are entitled to your opinion dude! I never said Pastor Adeboye was my "mate", problem with Nigeria and Nigerians is that they refuse to see wrongs even if it hits them in the face when it concerns people they adore or look up to. I don't know that I have seen any of Nigeria's pentecostal preachers take it to the government or those in the Government with the notable exception of Pastor Tunde Bakare ( I am sure they have stuff to say about him), Cardinal Olubumi Okogie was arrested plenty of time by the khaki boys in those days for daring to speak the truth to them. Nigerians need to wake up period! |
This was reported by Vanguard and some other Nigerian dailies I am sure: By Sam Eyoboka DESPITE the tense atmosphere in the nation occasioned by a series of violent attacks in different parts of the country, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has predicted a rosy year for the nation. In his New Year predictions for the country, Pastor Adeboye urged Nigerians not to despair but to remain steadfast in their prayers to God, who has promised to still all troubled seas. He said: “There is no need to panic; all will be well,. He urged Nigerians to pray for long life for prominent Nigerians. He added that for those who will be totally committed to God this year, it will be a year of mighty testimonies. The GO said: “There will be big celebrations in many homes/families this year,” adding that there will be massive restorations of losses of the previous years. He, however, used the occasion to urge every Nigerian to pray against killer diseases, particularly amongst children. For the international community, Pastor Adeboye expressed some concern, saying that serious prayers should be offered for the international scene this year against massive storms and extreme temperatures. He said: “Pray against major disasters, especially by fire. Pray that God will speak peace to a convulsing earth. Pray against civil wars and civil unrest.” There is, however, some cheery news on the international scene, as Adeboye foresees major discoveries in the automotive and aviation industry. As a Christian, I DEPEND on God for everything, I don't understand the part highlighted though: Which "prominent Nigerians" are we supposed to be praying for? The ones that have robbed the country to a standstill? Maybe you guys have a better take on this than I do. |
^^^ You are wrong! The Bible tells us how an elder in the Church should carry themselves and live their lives, Show me a Nigerian Pastor/Preacher"MOG" (you people love this term) who closely resembles Christ in actions and works. I am waiting Mr. King. |
^^^ Am I touching a nerve here that you've become so defensive ![]() When I fast or how I do it is between me and my savior and not for your consumption, I don't do things for the sake of it madam. It is our DUTY as Christians to share everything we are blessed with (including knowledge of the Scriptures), you can put your "Pastor, MOG, GOC, GO, GS) on any pedestal you want as you are entitled to such but don't judge or question how I go about mine. If you open your eyes a little and compare what you see or hear with what the Scriptures have to say about such, you might come away a better Christian or person. By their fruits ye shall know them and it does take a little effort to find out the truth instead of regurgitating what we've "been taught". I have actually heard a Nigerian pastor say "maybe you too can pick up the Bible and preach if you don't have a real job". If Jesus was so DIFFERENT from any of the twelve Disciples, there wouldn't have been any need for Judas to get paid for the betrayal. You should GIVE because it is our charge and duty not because of what you want to receive back as that would be like the stock market or kalo kalo, Matthew 23 could give you a better understanding, shalom. |
nuella2:It would be nice to know which Scripture you are quoting from, from your post, it seems the only thing one can give in your church is money, what about Charity towards one another that Christ preached? Most of these "modern day" churches are actually turning most people away from church with their hunger for the filthy lucre. Way too many "principles" being preached that can't be found in the Bible or twisted if found at all, "be wise as serpents and gentle as doves" is Jesus Christ's charge to his followers. |
nuella2:What happened to "test every spirit"? You will follow your pastor even if he is leading you to the opposite side? Good Christians are BEREAN Christians and don't hang on to every word they hear from the pulpit without VALIDATION from the Scriptures. |
