Do you really 'own' the house when their is a mortgage lien on it?  undecided

YES, YES and YES

We can't all be Nigerian political or Bank thieves buying up properties in the UK and USA and paying cash for it, at least we can walk with our heads help up high knowing we've never stolen from the people or a "Public trust",  A buddy of mine leave in the same area madam Oceanic bought up a whole cul de sac, will it surprise anyone if these seized properties end up being sold to the same people who are investigating her or their cronies?

"A lean freedom is better than a fat slavery, " remember the guy who made that statement? Get real dude!

PS: If I lived a few miles from Atiku's house, what difference does it make for me knowing that he paid cash and I have a mortgage? Think about that for a minute if you have the capacity to cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy
Christianity EtcRe: Who Says Bishop David Oyedepo Is Not A Living Legend? by ogajim(m): 7:56pm On Mar 26, 2010
KunleOshob:
It is not about being rich or poor, it is about the fact that oyedepo is one of the false prophets the bible warns us about who would twist and distort the scriptures for the sake of extorting money from the flock. It is quite obvious oyedepo is NOT doing the will of God but only feeding his own greed. The gospel of Jesus is not about earthly material possesions that prosperity pimps would like to have you believe, it is the gospel of the Kingdom of God and how to get there and your oyedepo is one of the preachers that specialize in twisting the teachings of the bible for material gain and in the process lead several away from the kingdom of God. At least you won't say you weren't told, if you like keep on believing in a man instead of focusing on the teachings of christ.
Preach on brother Kunle!

I thought only kids worship money and those who flaunt it, " for the love of money is the root of all evil, " hello!

blissieng:
It is well!

Only FOOLS doubt proofs.

Me, I've seen this thing work and it works GREAT! Like I said to each his own, Salvation is a personal race afterall.

Is it christlike to slander a man of God whether or not you think he's doing God's work?
BINGO!

If we think he is not "doing God's work", doesn't that make him fair game? undecided undecided undecided

To me u dnt even have a head to think and reason like a conscious person

do u think i have your time? Im not a member of Christ embassy but i hate it when the so called xtian' criticize other xtians as if they are better of or would do the contrary when placed in such positions as pastors and men of God.

If u re really a xtian then emulate Christ and his teachings. Did Jesus in any part of the bible ordered his disciples or xtians to go about criticizing others?
I can speak for myself, I have ZERO interest in other people's money or whatever so if it is not of God (contrary or not cheesy) I ain't doing it.

toba dude!!!!! Remember these FACTS:

There is nowhere in the Bible where we are told two wrongs make a right!

The only time (apart from when he cursed the fig tree) that Jesus ever got angry was when he chased the money changers out of the Temple!

Showing compassion and LOVE does not including INSULTING others even if you think they have insulted you!

Jesus INSTRUCTED us to LOVE one another-not just believers!

Shalom.

STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL

Dear SIR/MADAM,

Compliments of the day to you and your family.I am writing to you with much respect and honor to this letter, which must remain private and confidential. I know my proposal will come to you as a surprise since you do not precisely know me. Anyway, my mind accepted you and I believe that this proposal will bring mutual benefit for both of us.

Let me use this medium to introduce myself to you, I am MRS CECELIA KAMOKAI the wife of Alhaji Mustapha KAMOKAI, the former chairman of Diamond National Mining Co-operation and once the Director of Works and Housing before his untimely death. My Husband associated himself with coup plotters that ousted the government of Ahmed Tijan Kabbah on the 25th of May 1997 and was executed including ten (10) others.

As a result of his death and uncontrollable war in my country, Sierra Leone, my children and I decided to seek asylum in South Africa where my Husband had deposited US5.5m for us. We now want to use this money for investment in your country since we do not have anybody to assist us. Therefore, I am asking for your urgent assistance to forward this money into your country using very confidential and reliable means in which I will offer you 30% of the total amount for your king assistance.

However, This money is safely kept in a Security Company before my husband death under disguise as precious items and nobody has any slight knowledge of what is inside the box deposited with the Security Company. In other words, there is no risk involved and so not hesitate to ask questions where necessary.

All the documents covering the deposition of the money with the Security Company are intact with my son and me. For more information, please contact my son Richard on +27-823-434-963 to provide you with detailed information on how the transfer of this fund can made to your country upon acceptance. Please your private phone and fax numbers will be mostly needed for easy and confidential communication.

I look forward to your earliest reply through my private email address

Best regards,
mrs cicelia kamokai

7% interest rate? ouch!

One would certainly need to hold the property longer these days and hope for a better tomorrow in terms of making a profit, it's a long term investment for the most part as the days of "flipping" houses are way over now that some senses seem to have gone back into banking and finance.

JoeGaruba (  undecided )

You raised some valid points in your original post, Contentment is a thing adults ought to learn and teach their kids as well. Money doesn't make a large number of people, GREED is a DISEASE (one needs to look no further than Nigeria), there's no point in having all this money when almost everyone around you are broke, you wonder why crime has climbed new levels?

It is easy to attack NIDs who point out the ills but admire the ones around you in Nigeria simply because they have "made it" no matter how they got there.

Colonial mentality.
What are you doing to improve the land?

Don't you have family in Nigeria?
Who are you waiting for to change Naija for you?
When repaired you will now come back and reap what you didn't sow? Selfish man.  angry
Me selfish with what now, my time? I have no desire to return there at this time, maybe when I retire I will think of spending parts of the year in my village house. I already need a visa to come there so I am not hoping to reap where I didn't sow, reserve that to the kids of those guys ripping the country off.
I have worked to "improve" my village plot, beyond that, you take it from there " omo no oba uku akpolo kpolo" cheesy cheesy cheesy

Folks who moved there with the aim of bringing "change" either get killed, kidnapped, etc and that my dear sister is not my portion in Jesus name, amen.

Is this JEALOUSY that I am sensing from our brothers and sisters back home? Say it ain't so! shocked shocked shocked shocked

There are two classes of Nigerians - Those that can MAKE it anywhere and those that CAN'T make it anywhere.

It is STUPID/IGNORANT of anyone (NIN or NID) to assume that we all do the same job though I don't see any problem in doing any job that pays your bills, it beats stealing, 419, etc. The ones with the "condescending attitude" when they visit Nigeria probably do the same thing where they live, we are fond of boasting about "making it", "mad money" and what have you without realizing that not all of us are money hungry to the point of losing our moral compass or offend our God. Only kids believe money to be everything, we have to have "made" it in Nigeria at some point to be able to get out and who is to say we can't make it now if we choose to?

If you live outside Nigeria for a minute, you will realize the wasted opportunity that is Nigeria! I came back a couple of weeks ago and what can I say? Every time I've visited in the last 20 years, the country seems worse off than the last visit. Who wants to live in a place where only a FEW gets to live right?

We need to forgive Abygul and debosky, Generator noise has done a number on their thinking, Abygul can't even type straight English anymore it seems grin

You deserve to be slapped a thousand times for bringing Jesus into this mess called Nigerian Churches, how many times after feeding thousands did Jesus ask folks to buy his works? Paul took collections that he mostly gave to the needy during his Missions, his own upkeep was from his tent making side gig.

One would think the Educational system in Nigeria despite the constant strikes is good enough to give babaearly some rational thinking.

That is sad if he wrote it or it was published with his knowledge.

A common problem in Nigeria is that we seem to find it difficult to point out to people in authority where or when they might have gone wrong. This is different from passing judgment or condemning them. Nobody is perfect, and even Moses made a mistake. The knowledge of right or wrong is not localized to anyone. I wont be surprised if some other members of the church had reservations about the entry and didn't think it right to raise the issue.
Therein lies the problem with Nigeria which if not totally and permanently discredited and abandoned could lead to the demise of the Country as we know it. I am surprised we haven't seen the "touch not my anointed/do my prophet no harm" comments yet, we all have a right to point out the wrongs in our Country and find ways to educate and liberate others from this seeming bondage.

All the big Nigerian Churches operate the same business model these days, George was lucky his wife helped him out. Go to any of their Churches and it won't be long before you hear stuff like " God's work should take preference over your secular job" and yet ask you for money in various forms and ways. One doesn't need to be a Rocket scientist to figure them out, it is a BUSINESS all the way.

It's quite instructive that none of the numerous RCCG members on this forum as been able to come out and defend the scrilegeous/dubious wrttings of their G.O, perhaps they are not as badly brainwashed as the zombies in CEC, if it was a post against that notorious con man that goesby the name Oyakhilome all hell would have broken loose on this forum by now as they would be trying to out do themselves in defense of the criminal.
I don't see anyway I can defend this even if I had a law degree. I have worshiped at a couple of RCCG Churches for the past 3 years or so but don't see myself as a recipient of that indoctrination because I simply don't fall for cheap tricks, it's been a matter of me following the Barean practice of checking the facts and not do follow follow. The praise and worship is what draws me there and I have always maintained that a building is not where one gets Salvation, I hear some of their Sermons and go "hhhhhmmmm" where was that in the Bible?
One has to be strong spiritually these days to attend Nigerian Churches because of the nonsense they preach as well as their GREED to fleece the flock of their hard earned Dollar. I guess I am not a "traditional" member in the sense that I won't defend OBVIOUS LIES.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Do Some Nairalanders Have A Serious Bias Against Those Of Us Overseas ? by ogajim(m): 1:28pm On Mar 22, 2010
WOW, even among Nigerians there can be this much HATE?

mandingo, who invited you here? Your Nigerian landlord or your Nigerian baby mama?

I was in Nigeria recently, returned a couple of weeks ago so don't tell me we don't know what obtains in Nigeria, no matter how successful one is in diaspora, there is still that sense of " i wish I could have done this in Nigeria", How silly is it for someone to imply that all diasporans wash dead bodies and take care of old folks?(nothing wrong with making an HONEST living), that same IDIOT won't hesitate to run out of the country if he could obtain a visa, I stopped by the Immigration HQ, what did all those people need a passport for? Not to talk of the lines at the various embassies! Who is kidding who?

Those of us that critique the leadership or lack thereof are showing much LOVE, those that don't care should be blamed. I visit Europe often but still can't speak for those there but I can speak for the good 'ol USA and no one can be a free loader here unless you're named "mandingo", those guys who come home flaunting it are either cab drivers or lucky 419 folks who are not in jail yet, majority of us change into Nigerian clothes as soon as we can when we visit.

Nigeria is what joins us all together whether we like it or not. Diasporans account for $50 Billion at the very least of Nigeria's foreign exchange earnings(FACT).

Old folks normally don't get denied as long as those she is visiting have jobs/business and file taxes on a REGULAR bases. If you want to get her an immigrant visa, it might take longer but she will need to stay in the US for 5 years or come in every year to maintain it.

@OP, We can't say with ABSOLUTE certainty that their actions or inactions make God sick but Jesus Christ did warn us about them:

16Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

You can see that our Lord and Savior knew they would come like this, with all those Churches in Lagos (they grow more every time I visit there) how come the " get rich quick or die trying" mentality seems to be the order of the day?
