FamilyRe: Sometimes I Regret Marrying My Wife by olabrinks(f): 12:31pm On Oct 22, 2019
I honestly think your wife is suffering from serious depression, she’s not happy deep down inside and they’re some internal issues bothering her. She’s taking it out on you and everyone around her. The problem started once children came into the picture, she’s probably feeling the same regret you are feeling. This is not the time to divorce, this is the time for communication. This is the time for patience. This is the time for understanding. This is the time for wisdom. You are the man of the house, you need to take control of your territory.

If it means her getting help for depression, taking medication such as anti depressants let her do it. If it means going for therapy/counselling, then do it. If it means involving a third party who can transfer wisdom to you, then do it. If it means sitting down and communicating one on one thoroughly then do it. This is not the time to run away from your problems, you will find more problems leaving your wife and children in the long run. Once you cure the root of your problem, you will live peacefully.

But it doesn’t matter because beauty is a woman’s currency. Men are normally valued by how much money they have but then it’s all subjective and different opinions for different people.
UnclePrincipal:
Lol, why are you emphasizing on men?

Even though regina didn't work for the money she's spending now other than being a wife of a billionaire.
Most of y'all women will never get to her level of success.
RomanceRe: The Lie Behind "Men Do Not Like Women Who Use (too Much) Make Up". by olabrinks(f): 10:58am On Oct 20, 2019
Even at 59 most men will never get to his level of success, 90% of men.
kurupt1:
Mehn.....why are some people dull like this? How old is Ned Nwoko? So you expect a 30yr old to have money like a 59yr old?
How many 30yrs olds are billionaires? Don't you know success is progressive? So you expect a young man to just have money like that , without putting in the years?
Well......what do you expect from a female that doesn't have to wake up at night to scheme on how to make money, instead she is glossing over magazines, looking for a rich man to hook up with.

Sometimes I think you need to be mindful of what you type to others online. I know you want to tell this lady the truth, but please she’s in a very vulnerable state at the moment, use your words wisely. I pray this lady will not attempt to kill herself from reading some things here. You can be truthful without being derogatory.

Some men are truly and honestly evil, agents of the devil. I’m so sorry this has happened to you and I pray that you get to the bottom of this. I pray this man gets the punishment he deserves because no innocent child deserves to go through this kind of trauma. He needs to be in prison, disgusting animal. Please mum, take it easy, God will definitely fight this battle for you. He will never get away with this, please believe that!!! Keep your baby close to you, she will reveal the animal who is behind this. My prayers to you mum, just take it slow.

I think a lot of people are dealing with what the ops gf has, and this thread has given them hope. Makes them feel they are not alone. If you are extremely introverted and reserved please understand there is nothing wrong with you. Some people may not understand you, we live in a very extroverted world, but you will definitely find a few that will love and accept you for who you are. We don’t judge those who are always going out, socialising with many friends, yet we judge those who find solace in their own company. Find a little bit of balance but do not over work yourself trying to be someone you’re not. Good luck to all my wonderful introverts.

Lol okay, goodbye darling.
baby124:
I am immature. That’s fine. You are obviously mentally unstable. Don’t quote me again abeg.
FamilyRe: My Wife To Be Is Too Reserved by olabrinks(f):
Okay she has issues. Accepted. But darling, the reality is that every body has issues. Using the word ‘mental disorder’ like it’s some sort of disgusting disease is the problem I have with Nigerians. A lot of people have ‘mental disorders’ such as depression, ptsd, bipolar and so many more. In fact most people that you see roaming around the streets, going to work etc are dealing with one "mental disorder" or the other, does that make them less of a human being? You can even develop these things whilst in a marriage, do you just wake up and leave the person because of their ‘mental disorder’? Honestly I think you are just immature and you need to wake up and face reality. We don’t live in a world full of happy and perfect people. That is what your partner is there for, to help and bring out the best in you. If you’re not ready for challenges, then stay single!
baby124:
She has ISSUES! This is not shyness. A shy person will go to the event and may not mingle as much. This one behaves like she has a mental disorder. This is extreme my dear. Don’t mistake mental disorders for shyness. Shy people go out and function in the world. They work, they attend events. This one that can not be around people, Is who you want him to marry. If he was your brother trying to marry a girl that is running from all of you like she has something to hide, will you not be concerned?

She obviously has a lot to hide. She’s not a child she’s 24! Either that she has something to hide, she has mental issues or this is the tone she wants to set before marriage and will give him trouble for attending these functions after marriage.
FamilyRe: My Wife To Be Is Too Reserved by olabrinks(f): 4:01pm On Oct 13, 2019
Has anyone on this planet married a perfect partner? Has anyone married a partner who doesn’t have bad character traits in them? We are all flawed Biko, it’s about endurance and management. My thing is if the OP cant deal with it, he better leave but he should be very aware that the next woman might give him even more problems. She is not verbally abusive, she is not violent, she’s not a cheat, she doesn’t have a bad past that she’s hiding. She’s just socially shy. Ahbeg each to their own jare. Let him walk away from this girl and go and find miss Nigeria universe that will be talking too much in family gathering , maybe that will give him peace of mind at least.
baby124:
Your opinion. In my experience it’s a failed venture. If by now she does not want to be in the same space with family and friends even when he feels bad about her absence. It is only going to get worse. Bad behavior before marriage that is unchecked is amplified x100 after marriage.
FamilyRe: My Wife To Be Is Too Reserved by olabrinks(f): 3:51pm On Oct 13, 2019
I think you are being very inconsiderate and harsh and using your personal situation to make a judgement, which is wrong. When someone is suffering from social anxiety, it is not a choice, they do not want to be that way but mentally they just cannot handle social situations. There are different levels to this and I think what the OPs gf has, is an extreme case. That you believe it’s ‘normal’ for a girl to rush and see her boyfriends family doesn’t exempt her or disqualify her to become his wife if she doesn’t behave in that way. Every single human being has their own weakness. That you behave in a certain way doesn’t mean everybody else must follow.

The only way to deal with this situation is with patience. Your family might also come across as intimidating, as you have claimed your sister is already having problems with her all because she’s the quiet type. Step by step, bring her around one friend, let her get comfortable. Then start increasing it from there. Also go out more, just the two of you since she’s comfortable with you. That can help with her with learning how to be outside more. They’re many things you can do, but do not give up on her. Good luck
baby124:
By the way, I am not someone that goes to party everyday. In fact hubby is more social. But I don’t joke when it comes to family and mutual friends function. I show up, decked up and come out of my shell.

She can make the effort if she wants to, there are no extremes in life. If something is important to who you love as long as it does not compromise your health and safety, you will try to make them happy. Any extremist is a no-no in any situation. Run from extremists, they will destroy you.

How can someone be reluctant to meet your family and friends before marriage, is she mad? It’s even for her own good to see if she can belong to such a family or even marry you.

How will she feel if you refuse to meet her family members at all? If you act like her you won’t even meet them for introduction and you will never attend her family functions. Women can’t take that you know? Please and please flee from this woman. This one will not want to see anybody in your house. Trust me.
FamilyRe: Help With House Guest by olabrinks(f): 3:38pm On Oct 13, 2019
I have never lived in a married couples home and I will never feel comfort in such situation. And if I ever do find myself in that situation (God forbid) I will do my best to help around the house, cook, clean and put any money I have into the house expenses. I will never be too comfortable in a married persons house, the minute I get there I will be looking for a way out. That people choose to help you, doesn’t mean you should take advantage, hence why I just avoid the situation all together. I don’t want people taking advantage of me, and family members/friends are fond of doing that. The husbands friend of the OP is being a nuisance in their marital home, and he needs to leave. End of story.
saucecoder:
See this one, as if you never live for another person house before even if for a little while. I pity you.

In all remember that "a wise woman builds her home but a foolish woman destroys it"
Peace!
The man is the head of the home. The leader, the example setter and the main component that keeps the house together. Once the man fails to excel in his responsibility as the head, the foundation becomes extremely faulty and the union begins to crumble. Women submit to responsible men. A Woman cannot build a home on sand. I think some men really need some marriage counselling because most of you are so unaware and lost. And before you quote me, I am not single, miserable or bitter. Thanks in advance.

FamilyRe: Help With House Guest by olabrinks(f):
I just hate the thought of a third party living in my marital home. Esp one that is not family or contributing money to the rent and house expenses. It disgusts me. My hubby already knows this, don’t try to bring one of your friends or family members to live with us, and vice versa. Because honestly, it just starts creating problems. One party will start feeling like a visitor in their own home. Sometimes you have to put your foot down, it’s not about being disrespectful or disobedient. It’s about respecting each other’s space and allowing peace reign in your house. So the first step you need to make is getting rid of your husbands friend, he has overstayed his welcome. Then really pour out your mind to him, no holding back. Sometimes you have to hit men hard before you see changes in them. Playing miss perfect wife is the road to being a push over. Respect is reciprocal, Your opinion and feelings count, you must vocalise this. Good luck.

I hate when introverts question themselves, like they are some special kind of species that invaded the planet earth. I am an introvert myself, I am very happy and content with my personality and I don’t give a flying monkey about what person a or b thinks. People are going to talk about you regardless. You can’t change your nature, you can’t change how you naturally are. Accept it and stop looking for ways to modify your behaviour, everybody cannot be social butterflies. Get over it and live life.

I was thinking the same thing. Too many wahala ontop of wedding ceremony. But I’m just a fan of simplicity, but everybody is different so I’m not condemning them at all. Just hope they spend as much effort on the actual marriage. Too much paparazzi and social media can sometimes be bad. Not hating just my opinion.
